"Chakra Powered: Thunder Shock Surprise!" Li Zhenwu used the Thunder Shock Surprise he was familiar with, directly knocking out the last enemy ninja.
"Ding dong, congratulations to the host for completing the task (2/3), earning eighty battle points."
Fewer battle points again? Li Zhenwu sighed, unable to comprehend how the system calculates these points.
This wave of ninjas had four in total, and each was comparable in strength to the previous two ninjas, capable of becoming a chunin in the Hidden Leaf Village.
Yet, Li Zhenwu had taken them down with much less effort than last time, resulting in even fewer battle points than from their previous fight.
"That last battle significantly boosted my strength.
After all, during that fight, I got hit by two ninjutsu, which caused some injuries.
So after recovering, my strength increased dramatically.
Could it be that because of my improved strength, the battle points are fewer?"
Li Zhenwu thought to himself, feeling a clear sense of progress.
The tangible improvement was evident even to his companions, who looked on in astonishment.
After he single-handedly dealt with these ninjas, his teammates, Inuzuka Hana and Shiranui Gensui, were shocked, with Shiranui Gensui's mouth slightly agape.
"Zhenwu, your strength has improved... way too fast!"
"It's not a big deal," Li Zhenwu replied with a light smile.
"Combat is the quickest way to improve."
Shiranui Gensui was left speechless; even though combat is indeed the fastest way to progress, it shouldn't be at this pace!
The team continued their journey.
However, aside from Li Zhenwu, others had their concerns.
Guy Sensei thought deeply before saying, "This task is truly something. We've already encountered two waves of ninjas trying to seize the tasked item, and each wave is stronger than the last."
"Moving forward, we can't be certain whether more ninjas will come to steal the task item, so we all need to stay vigilant. Until we see the task giver and clarify the situation behind this task, we must proceed with extreme caution."
"Understood," Inuzuka Hana and Shiranui Gensui both replied in unison.
Li Zhenwu narrowed his eyes, gazing down the path, contemplating when the third wave of attack would arrive.
The system's task involved defending against ninjas attempting to seize the item until they met the task giver.
Therefore, it indicated there would be a third wave before they met the task giver.
Li Zhenwu was waiting to see when this third wave would come.
...
After defeating the second wave of attacking ninjas, they traveled peacefully for a while, to the point where Li Zhenwu almost doubted whether there would even be a third wave of enemies and if his task would remain unfinished.
They entered the previously agreed-upon city and checked into an inn.
Shiranui Gensui went out to spread the code, waiting for the task giver to meet them.
Inside the inn, Li Zhenwu was puzzled, wondering if before meeting the task giver, there would be another battle.
This thought made Li Zhenwu increasingly cautious.
However, it wasn't long before Shiranui Gensui returned, accompanied by a man.
The man was around thirty, of average height, with a slightly authoritative appearance and a kindly face.
This man... was just an ordinary person.
When he saw Li Zhenwu and the others, he was warm and welcoming. "You've finally arrived! I've been waiting for you here for a whole week."
The man greeted Guy Sensei.
"You're the task giver?" Guy Sensei asked, as they had never met before; only the task giver had left a code, which when matched here would confirm his identity.
The Leaf Village's group was responsible for safely escorting the task giver and the task item to the The Land of Bean Jam.
"That's me," the man replied, then stated a code.
Once Guy Sensei verified the code, he relaxed and then expressed his dissatisfaction. "Our ninjas from the Leaf Village adhere to their own ethical conduct. However, your task is definitely more than just a C-rank task; it seems you've hidden information from us!"
Guy Sensei questioned. Fortunately, he was leading this team, and with Li Zhenwu, the 'Konoha Monster,' they had navigated the journey smoothly.
But their team was unique, primarily aimed at helping the members grow.
Had any regular C-rank ninjas taken on this task from the village, they likely would have faced severe challenges along the way.
The act of hiding task information while failing to disclose the integrity of the task, and misclassifying its difficulty, is almost a grave error.
Faced with Guy Sensei's questioning, the man gave a wry smile and began to explain, "There are unforeseeable variables in this... it's like this..."
