*Knock*

*Knock*

Once the door opened the tall giant of a dog was the first to greet her on the other side. "Hey Pop, how are you?" She spoke to him as if expected an answer before giving him some loving rubs on his head. Turning to the ivory skinned blonde, standing slightly to the side so she could step in she said, "Hey you." then placed a soft kiss on her lips.

"Hey yourself." She said with a bright smile before retreating to her bedroom to finish getting ready. "I'm almost finished. Sorry it's taking me so long."

"It's okay. Take your time, there's no rush. We still have an hour, I'm the one who's early."

They were going to a play Arizona had been raving about for a while. Callie had surprised her with tickets for the two of them yesterday.

After about ten minutes, she came out. Callie couldn't help but to stare at the beautiful woman in front of her. Her blue dress matched her piercing blue eyes perfectly, blonde curls rested on her shoulders and she was courting a soft dimpled smile.

"What?" She asked innocently.

Snapping out of her daze, "Nothing. You just look beautiful."

"Thank you, Calliope." She said sweetly.

She smiled and cleared her throat before getting up from the couch. "You ready?"

"Yeah, I just have to give Pop his food and then we're good to go." She put some pellets into the food bowl and refilled the water, then she looked around the apartment one last time making sure she hadn't forgotten anything then turned to Callie saying, "Okay, all set."

They headed down to Callie's car hand in hand and began on their way.

The ride down apart from a light conversation, was quiet. Though comfortable, Callie was contemplative. She wanted tonight to go well.

"I never asked, how did you manage to get these tickets?" Arizona asked, bringing her out of her thoughts.

They were now walking towards the building.

Callie just shrugged. "I have connections." She plays it off.

The truth was that Callie called for a favour and got them a little after Arizona mentioned the play so she could surprise the blonde.

What the blonde didn't know was what Callie had planned after their initial outing. She wanted to grab some food and take them to the spot Arizona had taken them to as their second date and ask her to be her girlfriend, there wasn't any better place.

The women sat together watching the play, sharing laughs, Arizona explaining little cues and pieces to script Callie didn't quite notice or understand. Though she never had a particular love for plays, going with the blonde made it enjoyable. It was something she wouldn't mind doing regularly once it was with her.

After the play, the two walked out still talking. Arizona joyfully overwhelmed with excitement of how much fun it was. As she laughed and reenacted parts of the script Callie couldn't help but to think of what life could look like in the future. How she could never get tired of hearing the same contagious laugh or waking up to the beautiful features of the woman she had become familiar with. But right now, she was content with continuing to listen the excited banter.

Arizona hadn't stopped talking since getting in the car and didn't even realize that they weren't heading straight home until they pulled up at one of the restaurants she and Callie discovered together.

"Wait, what are we doing here?" She asked confused.

Callie just smiles and says, "I'll be right back, I'm just gonna grab us some food. You can stay in the car if you want, I promise not to be long."

Arizona squints at her suspiciously. "Why are you being so sneaky?"

Callie laughs and says. "You'll see in a bit." And playfully taps her nose. "Now what do you want?"

She crosses her arms and pouts like a toddler who was refused candy. "Fine, I'll stay in the car. I'll take the shrimp alfredo with those breaded things I like."

Callie shakes her head at the antics. "Shrimp alfredo and mozerella sticks, got it. I'll be back soon, okay?" She kisses her on the cheek before leaving the car.

Callie not only picks up what Arizona asked for, but her favorite flavor of cheese cake. She got back in the car and put the food in the back seat.

"Are we going back to my place now?" Arizona looks over and asked once the car was moving again.

Callie deflated a little at the question. "Is that what you want to do?"

Arizona shook her head. "No, I was just asking." But she really was wondering where they were going then.

"Okay good... well then how about you just sit and enjoy the ride." She smirked at her.

After a few more minutes of driving, Callie made a right turn onto the road that was all too familiar to the ivory skinned blonde.

When Callie looked across the blonde shone a bright smile. "Calliope..." she began softly.

"...I just thought we could spend some more time together before we head back home."

Arizona smiles at her and nods. "I like that plan."

They ate, occasionally stealing glances at one another, when Callie looks over to see Arizona doing her happy dance as she took another bite of pasta.

She laughs and shakes her head at the blonde's antics.

"What?" She said quizzically, face still stuffed.

Callie shakes her head and says with a soft smile, "I'm just glad you're enjoying your food."

Arizona rocks back in her seat exasperatedly. "I am so full." She says rubbing her stomach.

Callie reaches into the backseat for the secret treat hidden there. "Then I guess there's no room for this?" She waved it in her face to make sure she got a whiff of the scent.

"No! There is always room for cheesecake." With that she greedily snatches the dessert out of her hand. Once putting it in her mouth she realises it's her favorite as the taste melts on her tongue. "Calliope Torres, I love you so much." She moans out as she takes another bite, only realizing her words once they had already left her mouth. She practiced it in her head multiple times but had never actually vocalized the words, better yet, fully processed the feelings that came with them.

Butterflies instantly form in the brunette's stomach at the words, not sure if it was in ecstasy for the delight or a true testament to her feelings.

Time seemed to have frozen. Expressive eyes meet, both silently asking the question of where do they go from here. Fear of the new chapter the words unleashed.

"I love you too." She said them as if delicate glass on her tongue. The brunette reached over placing her hand on the paler cheek giving her a soft kiss on her lips.

Chocolate orbs stared into a blue ocean, revealing the vulnerability in each woman.

Callie got a new found courage after the words and continued. "I actually- uh- um... actually I brought us out here to uh..." She let go a shaky laugh, scratching the back of her neck. An unconscious habit when she was nervous. "This is somehow worse than I imagined in my head." She stopped, taking a calming breath before she started again. "I brought us out here hoping I could ask you something." Pausing again, she looked up to see the blonde nodding to tell her she could continue. "Arizona Robbins, would you do me the honour of becoming my girlfriend?"

A bright smile shone on her face following the question, she found the other woman's rambling cute. She took her palms, placing them on either side of the tan cheek, before engulfing the soft, plumb lips in a kiss. It was tender, yet filled with so much passion.

"Yes Calliope, I would love to be you girlfriend." She said it in such a loving tone.

Their two eyes met, making four. Somehow without another word spoken between them, they could almost hear what the other was communicating through just a look. There was a sense of curiosity for the uncertain path this relationship would take them on but in a way that produced optimism.

Author's Notes

The past few chapters have had a bit of a gloomy cast to it so i figured this would be a good time for a light hearted chapter and what better way than unlocking a new journey in their relationship, I think it was about time. Although this was a pretty short one I hope it's still enjoyable to read. I'll try my best to make the ones to come longer. As always, I appreciate your feedback and am open to ideas.
