Erin's POV

"I wonder who will summon their Egyptian God card first" Zane wondered.

"Hard to tell" I answered.

"Come on, Yugi, are you going to stand around all day? I'm getting bored and so are my fans"

My Zaldrizes's remark made me chuckle and Yami summoned Big Shield Gardna in defense mode and ended his turn with a card face down. Seto smirked when he drew his new card, and after putting a card face down, he brought out the Z-Metal Tank.

"Oh shit," Zane and I said together as Z-Metal Tank combined with its other counterparts to form XYZ-Dragon Cannon.

Seto's monster attacked Big Shield Gardna and it was sent to the graveyard. If Yami didn't do something quick Obelisk was going to be summoned soon. And sure enough, the Spirit of the Millennium Puzzle had such a plan. He revealed his face-down card, Soul Rope, and at the cost of 1000 life points, Yami could bring out a level four monster to the field if one of his monsters was destroyed.

Yami played King's Knight and my eyes widened when I realized what was about to happen.

"Looks like Slifer is about to make its debut" I informed Zane as Yami also played Jack's Knight.

Then the three knights were sacrificed and Yami held up his Egyptian God Card. It wasn't long until the mighty red dragon came to life and it roared. And Slifer was freaking huge!

Seto, on the other hand, looked annoyed. For each card Slifer's wielder had in his hand, the mighty dragon had 1000 attack points per card and Yami had three, while Seto's monster only had 2800. Seto laughed and he suggested Yami attack him.

That face-down has to be a trap, I thought. Or else he wouldn't be so calm

Yami hesitated before finally commanding Slifer to attack. The mighty dragon opened its mouth and unleashed its fury.

"Not so fast Yugi!" Seto shouted and he revealed the same trap card he tried to use on me in our duel. Interdimensional Matter Transporter made XYZ-Dragon Cannon disappear and Slifer's attack instead hit the walls of the virtual coliseum.

"Whoa, that dragon sure packs a punch," Zane mumbled.

I silently agreed and was somewhat a little envious of not having Slifer in my deck. XYZ-Dragon Cannon returned to the field and Yami concluded his turn with a card hidden.

"Lifeforce Sword is no longer effective," Ishizu informed us, and sure enough, the trap card that held Obelisk out of play disappeared.

Seto smirked as Obelisk returned to his hand and he then sacrificed XYZ-Dragon Cannon. My mate then laughed as he summoned his Egyptian God Card. The sky above the coliseum darkened and a beam of blue light appeared behind my Zaldrizes. As it disappeared, Obelisk stood in its place.

"It's time for the gods to clash Yugi! And only one will remain standing!"

Yami then surprised us by explaining Slifer's second special ability. Slifer opened its second mouth and sent out a ball of blue flame straight at Obelisk. My mate's monster went down from 4000 to 2000 attack points. But this would only be for one turn.

Seto put two cards face down and it was back to Yami. After drawing, Slifer's attack went to 3000, making it stronger than Obelisk, but that was short-lived because Seto's monster went back to 4000. Yami then pulled another stunt and played Pot of Greed.

Now Slifer had 5000 attack points and the Spirit of the Millennium Puzzle commanded Slifer to attack. Slifer again prepped to strike but Seto was ready. My Zaldrizes revealed Command Silencer, and when the card appeared on the field, it sent out ear-piercing sound waves.

Zane and I held our hands to our ears because of our sensitive hearing, and Slifer didn't hear Yami's command, so Obelisk was safe, and Seto drew a new card. Yami put two new cards face down and Slifer was back at 3000.

After Seto drew, Yami revealed Card Destruction. Seto looked annoyed again but discarded his hand and drew new cards as Yami did the same; then the Spirit of the Millennium Puzzle played Disgraceful Charity, which allowed them to take back the cards they each discarded. And Yami now held six cards making Slifer go to 6000 attack points.

Seto then played Thirst of Compensation and this let my Zaldrizes summon two new monsters from his hand. Sword of Soul and Blade Knight appeared, but Yami said Slifer could destroy them both and he had the dragon god attack.

And again, Seto countered with Card Guard, making Slifer's assault null and void. My beloved then sacrificed his monsters to Obelisk and the Egyptian God picked up Sword of Soul and Blade Knight into its claws. It absorbed their power and triggered its special ability. This means Obelisk could deal 4000 points of damage directly.

On his command, Obelisk threw its enormous fist forward, and it seemed victory would be Seto's, but Yami suddenly had a wall of Kuribohs protecting him and his life points. Both Zane and I were clinging to one another because what just happened was intense.

"That was a lucky move, Yugi, but that won't stop Obelisk from wiping you out," Seto addressed Yami before laying a card face down.

After his master drew a new card Slifer gained more attack strength and roared before coiling itself around Obelisk. But Obelisk managed to break free from Slifer and the god monster pushed Slifer away from it. And it was all thanks to Power Balance which Seto played while Slifer attacked.

Yami was forced to discard half the monsters in his hand while my Zaldrizes drew new cards. Slifer was now vulnerable and Obelisk counterattacked. Yami made a countermove of his own and played Necromancy. Blade Knight, Sword of Soul, Kaiser Seahorse, and X-Head Cannon appeared on the field in defense mode.

Yami explained how Necromancy worked, and Seto's monsters were soon destroyed by Slifer due to its second special ability, and Obelisk lost 2400 of its attack points, making it easy prey for Slifer.

"Okay, this is starting to get old," Zane growled as Obelisk attack points went from 1600 to 2600 thanks to Sword of Soul being in the graveyard.

"This duel is meant to be that way" I reminded him.

It is getting tiresome Balerion growled.

Both Seto and Yami had the same song and dance routine in the next few turns where neither Egyptian God could land an attack on the other. But then the two of them finally did clash and it created an intense blue light.

"The hell is going on?" Zane wondered as he and I turned away from the intense light.

Zane's POV

Suddenly, Erin fainted, and I was quick to catch her.

"Sis!" I exclaimed gently shaking my younger sibling.

I bet that the intense light show was somehow behind her fainting, and I just hoped Erin wouldn't stay unconscious for too long.
