Erin's POV
"Oh, not again," I mumbled as I saw myself in another vision from my past life. I was outside of a temple and it was night.
"Mareena! Wait!"
I recognized that voice!
Seto's past self was trying to catch up with my past self. She was dressed in what looked like a ritual dress.
"Nothing you say will stop me from doing what I must do, Seto," Mareena replied to her beloved. She stopped and faced him. "You have nothing to fear"
"Many have tried to perform the ritual to see if they were deemed worthy of the Valyrian Ones, and died"
"Erin?"
I whirled around to see my Zaldrizes, and like me, he was see-through.
"What the hell is going on?"
He then looked up and his eyes widened as he saw his past self and mine.
"This is your past life, Kaiba," Yami explained, appearing alongside us. "But what is happening I don't know"
Mareena took her beloved's hands into hers.
"I won't die today, my love," she reassured the priest. She then kissed him, and I blushed, and Seto did the same.
The scene then changed as Mareena entered what seemed to be the heart of the temple and she lit three torches before speaking in High Valyrian.
Come forth
A loud roar filled the chamber and a familiar scaly face came out of the darkness. Balerion eyed Mareena in irritation.
"So another wishes to claim ownership of us?"
"Is that Balerion?" Seto asked.
"It is" I confirmed.
Another dragon poked its head from the darkness and it was Vhagar.
"So it seems brother"
"She must face our judgment then," a new female voice added.
A silver dragon joined her kin and I knew her immediately. She was Meraxes the third dragon from Aegon's conquest.
Mareena then looked at her wrists to find them chained and it wasn't long until the chains were in place so the young fox hybrid couldn't move.
"Now then, child, when you look at us, what do you see?" Meraxes began.
"I see creatures who deserve respect" Mareena answered. "Beings who are just like us"
Balerion snorted at that and Vhagar growled at him to be silent. The elder dragoness then asked the next question.
"What are we to you young fox?"
"If you choose me as your wielder, I vow to never take advantage of any of you," Mareena continued. "A dragon is not a slave and never will be, to me you would be friends, I would bleed for you, and give my life up should another threaten to take any of you away"
This got Balerion's attention but he was still unsure of the young fox before him. Suddenly, two very familiar roars filled the room, and my eyes widened as Blue Eyes, White Dragon, and Moonstone Dragon snarled at the trio before them.
"The White Dragon?" Balerion said not believing his eyes.
Blue Eyes hissed and coiled itself around Mareena protectively while Moonstone Dragon remained where it was.
Meraxes then began to chirp and Moonstone replied with growls.
"They're communicating with the other," I informed Seto and Yami.
Moonstone then joined Blue Eyes and gave the dragon trio a daring hiss.
"Moonstone says he has been bonded with the young fox since birth" Meraxes explained to her brethren. "She has treated him as a dragon should be and the White Dragon chose to join them after an act of kindness was made, and I see the good in her"
"As do I" Vhagar agreed. The she-dragon then turned to her brother. "You feel it as well your just too stubborn to admit it, brother"
Balerion bared his fangs at his sister before looking at Meraxes for a moment. He then sighed and the chains were then gone from Mareena's wrists. The black dragon then snaked his head forward until he was dead in front of Mareena. Both Blue Eyes and Moonstone Dragon bore their fangs but backed away a few inches giving the male dragon room to approach.
The Black Dread pressed his enormous snout against Mareena's forehead and all was silent. While Balerion was going through his mental task Mareena placed a hand against the Black Dread's face. She stroked his scales and the male dragon relaxed at her touch. It was then he pulled away from her.
"For centuries, we have waited for our wielder and those before you died by dragon fire," he stated. "Those only wished to use us for their own personal gain, to commit atrocities, to create fear, you child don't want any that from us"
"I am not afraid of either of you or the other Valyrian Ones and you Balerion, are beautiful"
Meraxes and Vhagar chuckled while Balerion pressed his snout against Mareena.
"Then at long last, we found you, Wielder, from this day to your last day we are yours"
Then the vision faded, and the next thing I knew, I woke in Zane's arms. He and Ishizu had worried looks on their faces.
"Welcome back, sis," Zane teased as I sat up.
"What did you see Erin?" Ishizu inquired.
"My past self earning the right to wield the Valyrian Dragons" I answered.
"Erin!"
Mokuba rushed over and stopped to catch his breath.
"You okay? You passed out just like Seto and Yugi"
"I'm okay, Lekia," I reassured him.
With the assistance of Zane and Ishizu, I was back on my feet. Seto and Yami were doing the same. My Zaldrizes shot me a worried glance and I gave him a thumbs up.
"Now, do you understand what's happening Kaiba? We faced each other 5,000 years ago and are the doing the same now" Yami pointed out.
It was then I noticed Obelisk and Slifer were gone.
Both gods cannot fight the other no longer Balerion explained. And now you see why 5,000 years later we chose you once more Wielder
I smiled at his remark and Yami told Seto this duel was still on. My Zaldrizes played a card face down and Yami drew. He then frowned at the card he had, and after sighing, he summoned Gazelle in defense mode. Seto smirked and activated his face-down card. It was called Clone and it wasn't long until my mate had his own Gazelle.
"Oh shoot," I began, realizing what Seto was about to do.
Now that it was his turn Seto played Cost-Down and after sacrificing Gazelle did the beautiful Blue Eyes White Dragon emerged.
"Alright, Seto! Take it to the oof!" Mokuba cheered.
Blue Eyes then destroyed Gazelle with its White Lightning. Now that I thought about it I wonder what act of kindness Mareena did in order to gain her Blue Eyes. It was Yami's turn again, and he played Monster Reborn, and out came Dark Magician. Seto didn't seem surprised to see the spell caster, and after hiding a card face down, it was back to my Zaldrizes.
My boyfriend lay a card face down and then played Card of Demise. He got his new cards and told Yami he was aware of what his rival was trying to do. Then Lord of Dragons joined Blue Eyes on the field, and thanks to its special ability, Yami's face-down cards were useless.
After playing Beta the Magnet Warrior in defense Yami had Dark Magician try to attack Lord of Dragons. And as expected Seto chose that moment to play his face-down card Magical Trick Mirror. Seto chose Monster Reborn from Yami's graveyard and used it to bring back Obelisk.
"The heck is he doing bringing back Obelisk?" Zane wondered.
His answer was then given when Obelisk prevented the Dark Magician's attack and Yami lost 1500 points of damage. Yami lay a card face down to conclude his turn. Obelisk then disappeared and it was Seto's turn again.
My mate first put Lord of Dragons in defense mode and then played Flute of Summoning Dragon. Two more Blue Eyes joined the first. Then my Zaldrizes commanded all three of his dragons to attack and the blast from the White Lightning lit up the arena.
"I'm really getting sick of these bright light shows!" Zane shouted his displeasure as we turned away from the bright light.
Eventually, things cleared up, and everyone, including my beloved, was shocked to see Red Eyes Black Dragon alongside Dark Magician and Beta. Again, my mate tried to use Blue Eyes to destroy Dark Magician, but Yami was ready.
He played Magical Selection which protected Dark Magician from Blue Eyes. Then he activated Spell Binding Circle and the magical circle latched itself onto the Blue Eyes that tried to attack Dark Magician. Blue Eyes became weakened and Red Eyes destroyed it. But Beta wasn't so lucky.
But this duel was still too close to call and it wouldn't be long now until a winner would emerge.
