Episode 331: Sora vs Vito Winstrate
After having an incredibly intense battle, Sora and Harrison, they had their Pokémon checked in for the night. Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, Max, Lisia, Zinnia, Rei, Wally, Tyson, Morrison, Jay, Blake, Nora, and the Pokémon accompanied them.
"Your Pokémon will have to rest here for the night. And I can assure you both that they'll be fighting fit by tomorrow morning," Nurse Joy said.
"Thanks, Nurse Joy," Sora said.
"We really appreciate it," Harrison said.
"You're very welcome. Sora, Brendan, Tyson, since you three won your battles, I shall make it an opportunity for you to see who you'll be facing off next," Nurse Joy said.
"Well, that'll be great," Brendan said.
With that said, Brendan was having his battle first while Tyson was on third, and Sora was having his battle against a young man with green hair. He has brown eyes and he wore an orange shirt under an olive-yellow vest, blue jeans, and green shoes.
"Well, that answers that," Riku said.
"So, who is he?" Ethan asked.
"According to the database, it says his name is Vito Winstrate," Max said. Sora, Kairi, Lisia, and Rei were shocked when Max mentioned the last name.
"Vito Winstrate?" Sora, Kairi, Lisia, and Rei asked.
"Yeah, you know him?" Max asked.
"No, but we actually met his family a while back," Sora said.
"When did you do that?" May asked.
"It was when we were heading for Mauville City for the Battle Dome. We actually met his family," Kairi said.
"And they pretty much challenged us to a battle," Sora said.
"Sounds like something they'd do," a voice said. They turned and saw Vito standing before them. "After all, having Pokémon battles is a lifestyle in my family."
"Well, it's nice to finally meet you, Vito. They wanted me to tell you that they said hi when we do meet you. Sorry that it's late," Sora said.
"Better late than never, I say. Just wanted to meet my next opponent before we had ours," Vito said.
"Yeah. I just hope you give me everything you've got like your grandma did," Sora said.
"I promise that I will, Sora," Vito said. Sora and Vito shook hands, promising each a hard battle ahead of them.
Meanwhile, the Winstrates were watching Vito's battle on TV and they cheered really hard for him.
"Yay! That's my big brother!" Vivi cheered.
"Well, then you're gonna have to cheer extra hard for your brother tomorrow. After all, he is going to need the support of the Winstrate family," Vicky said.
"I was on the phone with all our relatives all over Hoenn, and they're super excited!" Victor said.
"Oh, I couldn't be more proud of my baby boy," Victoria said.
On the next morning in Ever Grande City, Sora exchanged Ludicolo, Medicham, Slaking, Shiftry, Manectric, and Octillery for Solrock, Dusknoir, Banette, Kangaskhan, Ambipom, and Slowbro. Sora has decided to go with Pikachu, Solrock, Banette, Dusknoir, Kangaskhan, and Hariyama to battle. Sora had to be ready for anything Vito can throw at Sora.
Brendan won his battle, using his Swampert against a Golem, knocking it out.
"Golem is unable to battle! Swampert wins! The winner of the battle is Brendan from Littleroot Town!" The referee.
"And Brendan is the first to make it to the top four finalists!" The announcer announced.
After the second battle, Tyson's Sceptile lands a Solar Beam lands a hit on a Blastoise.
"Blastoise is unable to battle! Sceptile wins! The winner of the battle is Tyson from Mauville City!" The referee announced.
"Tyson makes number three for the top four! Now we await for the next battle taking place in five minutes!" The announcer announced as Sora and Pikachu walked down the halls and he bumps into Vito again.
"Hey, Vito," Sora greeted.
"Hey, Sora," Vito greeted back.
"Good luck out there," Sora said.
"Thank you, Sora. Same to you," Vito said.
Five minutes came and went as Sora and Vito entered the battlefield to begin their next battle.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the last battle for the day is about to begin! We have Vito Winstrate from the outskirts of Mauville City versus the Pokémon League Champion of the Kanto and Johto regions, Sora Ketchum! We are about to have a real clash of titans here today, and only one of them will be walking away a winner and making it to the top four! Now we will select the battlefield they'll be battling on!" The announcer announced as the field makes a selection. It chooses the Water Field. "And it looks like we're on the Water Field!"
"Trainers! Choose your Pokémon and begin!" The referee announced. Vito took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Alright, Swellow! I choose you!" Vito called out. His Pokéball opened and his Swellow came out to battle. Sora looked over to Pikachu.
"You're going in, Pikachu!" Sora said. Pikachu nodded and stepped in the battlefield.
"Vito starts things off with a Swellow while Sora begins with Pikachu! Judging by types, Pikachu has the advantage!" The announcer announced.
"Swellow! Use Wing Attack!" Vito ordered. Swellow flew at Pikachu to land a Wing Attack.
"Swellow starts things up with a Wing Attack!" The announcer announced.
"Dodge and use Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dodged Swellow's Wing Attack and sends out an Electro Ball at the Swallow Pokémon.
"Use Double Team!" Vito ordered. Swellow makes several copies of itself, avoiding Pikachu's Electro Ball.
"Swellow makes a beautiful dodge with that Double Team! The battle has just gotten started and he's already not making it easier on Sora!" The announcer announced.
"Come at Pikachu with Aerial Ace!" Vito ordered. The copies disappeared and Swellow flew at Pikachu with an Aerial Ace.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fired a Thunderbolt at Swellow, shocking the Swallow Pokémon on the mark. Swellow makes contact with Pikachu. Swellow activates Pikachu's Static, becoming paralyzed.
"Swellow has taken some brutal damage from Pikachu's Thunderbolt, but Pikachu has taken some damage from Swellow's Aerial Ace! Just about any one of these two could take the lead!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Swellow! Use Aerial Ace again!" Vito ordered. Swellow attempts to use Aerial Ace, but its paralysis kicked in. "Pikachu paralyzed Swellow somehow. Couldn't it have been from Pikachu's Thunderbolt or did Swellow activate Static?" He calls Swellow back.
"Vito is making an early change in Pokémon! Which one will Vito be sending out next?" The announcer asked. Vito took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Alakazam! Go!" Vito called out. His Pokéball opened and an Alakazam came out to battle.
"Vito's second Pokémon is Alakazam!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu, come back for now," Sora said. Pikachu came back to Sora's side as Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Banette! You're up!" His Pokéball opened and Banette came out to battle.
"And Sora's second Pokémon is Banette!" The announcer announced.
"Banette! Use Will-O-Wisp!" Sora ordered. Banette summoned light purple and pink fireballs with a white core and sends them at Alakazam, burning the Psi Pokémon on the mark.
"And Alakazam is hit by that Will-O-Wisp!" The announcer announced.
"Hold on. Shouldn't Alakazam pass its burn status to Banette?" Max asked.
"That's if Alakazam has Synchronize as an ability, but I'm going to guess Alakzam has Inner Focus," Riku said.
"That'll be my guess, too, Riku. Alakazam's attacks should be weaker when burned," Wes said.
"Alakazam! Use Psybeam!" Vito ordered.
"Dodge and use Hex!" Sora ordered. Banette avoids Alakazam's Psybeam and fired a Hex, hitting Alakazam, dealing some heavy damage.
"Super-effective! Not only that, but Hex's power is doubled when in a status condition such as burning!" The announcer announced.
"Rest!" Vito ordered. Alakazam begins to sleep, healing itself of its burning.
"Alakazam is now healed from its burning and sound asleep!" The announcer announced.
"Wow, sleeping in the middle of the battle. It doesn't look like Alakazam can do anything," May said.
"Maybe not, but Alakazam can wake up at any moment," Ash said.
"Use Hex!" Sora ordered. Banette fired Hex at Alakazam again, but the Psi Pokémon woke up and dodged before it landed a hit.
"Alakazam's wide awake now! It looks like it didn't take any damage at all!" The announcer announced.
"Man, I knew Vito was good Trainer, but this guy is way better than I thought. This just makes the battle even more worth it," Sora said.
"Alakazam! Psybeam!" Vito ordered. Alakazam crossed its spoons and fired Psybeam at the Marionette Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Shadow Claw!" Sora ordered. Banette dodged Alakazam's Psybeam and lands a shadowy slash onto Alakzam. It deals a critical hit.
"Super-effective and a critical hit with that Shadow Claw!" The announcer announced.
"Will-O-Wisp!" Sora ordered. Banette unleashed another Will-O-Wisp and sends it Alakazam, burning it again.
"Alakazam is burned again with that Will-O-Wisp!" The announcer announced.
"Not for long. Rest!" Vito ordered. Alakazam then falls asleep again, healing itself of its burns and injuries
"Use Hex! Full power!" Sora ordered. Banette builds up the power of his Hex and hurls it right at Alakazam. It lands a hit, dealing some heavy damage on Alakazam.
"Wow! Banette's Hex just dealt some heavy damage onto its opponent!" The announcer announced.
"Use Shadow Claw!" Sora ordered. Banette lands Shadow Claw onto Alakazam. "Use Psychic!" Banette takes Alakazam in with Psychic and sends it right into the water. Vito gasped.
"Alakazam!" Vito gasped.
Alakazam submerged in the water, knocked out.
"Alakazam is unable to battle! Banette wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora has gained the lead in this battle! Vito will have to think of something new if he wants to stay in this battle!" The announcer announced as Vito called his Alakazam back.
"You were great, Alakazam. Get yourself a good, long rest," Vito said, smiling. He looked over at Sora. "Wow, he's even more amazing than I thought. I'll have to try even harder." He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Manectric! Go!" His Pokéball opened and his Manectric came out to battle.
"Vito's third Pokémon is his Manectric!" The announcer announced.
"You still good to go, Banette?" Sora asked.
"Bane," Banette nodded.
"Thought so. Use Will-O-Wisp!" Sora ordered. Banette unleashed another Will-O-Wisp and sends it right at Manectric.
"Dodge it!" Vito called out. Manectric dodged Banette's Will-O-Wisp with its incredible speed. "Use Flamethrower!" Manectric fires Flamethrower at Banette, landing a hit.
"It looks like the tables on its opponent!" The announcer announced.
"Manectric! Use Thunder Fang!" Vito ordered. Manectric came at Banette and lands an electrified bite. Banette was knocked out.
"Banette is unable to battle! Manectric wins!" The referee announced.
"Now it's all tied up with both Trainers with five Pokémon from each side!" The announcer announced. Sora called back Banette and he smiled.
"Don't worry about it, Banette. You did your best," Sora said. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Solrock! You're going right in!" His Pokéball opened and Solrock came right out to battle.
"Sora's third Pokémon is a Solrock!" The announcer announced.
"Manectric! Use Thunder Fang!" Vito ordered. Manectric came right at the Meteorite Pokémon.
"Dodge it and use Rock Slide!" Sora ordered. Solrock dodged Manectric's Thunder Fang and unleashed Rock Slide, pelting the Discharge Pokémon on the mark. "Use Flamethrower!" Solrock fired Flamethrower, landing a hit.
"Solrock is making good use of its powers with that Rock Slide and Flamethrower combo!" The announcer announced.
"Use Psychic!" Sora ordered. Solrock uses Psychic on Manectric and sends it straight down on a platform, knocking it out.
"Manectric is unable to battle! Solrock wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora breaks the tie, but how long will it take for Vito to be ahead of Sora?" The announcer asked. Vito called Manectric back and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Alright, Shiftry! I choose you!" Vito called out. His Pokéball opened and his Shiftry came out to battle.
"Vito's fourth Pokémon is a Shiftry! It looks bad for Sora's Solrock since Shiftry is a Grass-type and a Dark-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced. Sora called back Solrock.
"It's too risky to use Dusknoir since he's a Ghost-type, so I got Kangaskhan to use," Sora said, taking out Kangaskhan's Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Kangaskhan! Go for it!" His Pokéball opened and Kangaskhan came out to battle.
"Sora's fourth Pokémon is Kangaskhan!" The announcer announced.
"A Kangaskhan, huh?" May asked, taking out her Rotom Phone and scanned her.

If you come across a young Kangaskhan playing by itself, you must never disturb it or attempt to catch it. The baby Pokémon's parent is sure to be in the area, and it will become violently enraged at you.
"Talking about a protective mom," May said, not wanting to know what a wild Kangaskhan would do to her when she does come across her baby.
"Shiftry! Use Leaf Blade!" Vito ordered. Shiftry rushes at Kangaskhan with a Leaf Blade.
"Dodge it and use Comet Punch!" Sora ordered. Kangaskhan dodged and she lands three hard punches on the Wicked Pokémon.
"Kangaskhan makes a good start with that Comet Punch!" The announcer announced.
"Now, use Dizzy Punch!" Sora ordered. Kangaskhan gave Shiftry a Dizzy Punch on the nose. Shiftry ends up being confused.
"It doesn't look good, because Shiftry is confused!" The announcer announced. Vito called Shiftry back and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Electrode! Go!" Vito called out. His Pokéball opened and an Electrode came out to battle. "Electrode! Use Discharge!" Vito ordered. Electrode unleashed Discharge and it lands a hit onto Kangaskhan. "Use Rollout!" Electrode rolls right at Kangaskhan with Rollout.
"Dodge and use Mega Punch!" Sora ordered. Kangaskhan avoids Electrode's Rollout and lands a Mega Punch onto Electrode. "Use Body Slam!" Kangaskhan came at Electrode and lands a Body Slam onto the Ball Pokémon.
"Kangaskhan isn't giving Electrode much of a chance out there!" The announcer announced.
"Use Spark!" Vito ordered. Electrode charges at the Parent Pokémon with Spark.
"Dodge and use Mega Punch again!" Sora ordered. Kangaskhan dodges Electrode's Spark and lands another Mega Punch, knocking Electrode out.
"Electrode is unable to battle! Kangaskhan wins!" The referee announced.
"And Electrode makes three that Vito had lost to Sora! So now, we'll be having a fifteen minute break to change battlefields!" The announcer announced.
Over to the Winstrate family, they were watching the battle from start to finish.
"Wow, that Sora kid is much stronger than I remember," Victor said.
"Yup, but I know Vito's got a plan to earn himself a comeback," Vicky said.
"Yeah, you can do it, big brother!" Vivi cheered.
Back to Vito he drank some water and wiped off some sweat.
"Sora is way better than I thought. No wonder he's a Pokémon League Champion. That means I'm gonna have to battle extra hard when I get back out there," Vito said.
Over to Sora and Pikachu, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Karen, Ventus, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Blossom, and Sparky are with him.
"That was an awesome job out there, Sora," Ventus said.
"Pikachu!" Sparky said.
"That's only the half of the match. Harrison made a pretty big comeback when you battled him yesterday," Karen said.
"Chu," Blossom said.
"Yeah, and I'm counting on Vito to actually doing that. Katie pretty much did that with that Walrein of hers," Sora said.
"That Walrein was sure a heavyweight," Roxas said.
"Brutally strong," Xion said.
"Pikachu," Xipak said.
"Eevee," Celeste said.
"Sora still came through, just I know he'll come through this battle," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"We'll do my out there. Me, Pikachu, and the rest," Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
The scene switches back to the battlefield and they're on the Rock Field this time.
"The second half of the match is about to begin! To those who are just joining in, Sora is down to five Pokémon while Vito is down by three! Only one these two will be advancing to the final round, so which one will it be?!" The announcer exclaimed.
"Resume the battle!" The referee called out. Vito took out his Pokéball and threw it.
"Shiftry! Go!" Vito called out. Shiftry came back to battle. Sora took out his Pokéball and threw it.
"Hariyama! You're going in!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and Hariyama came out to battle.
"Sora chooses Hariyama while Vito has chosen Shiftry! Hariyama has the advantage here, but what could Vito have up his sleeve?!" The announcer asked.
"Shiftry! Use Air Slash!" Vito ordered. Shiftry swings its leaves and sends them right at the Arm Thrust Pokémon.
"Dodge it and use Arm Thrust!" Sora ordered. Hariyama managed to dodge Shiftry's Air Slash and came at Shiftry with Arm Thrust.
"Dodge it and use Leaf Blade!" Vito ordered. Shiftry dodges Hariyama's Arm Thrust and lands a Leaf Blade on the back. "Use Bullet Seed!" Shiftry fired Bullet Seed from its mouth and right at Hariyama.
"Here comes Bullet Seed!" The announcer announced.
"Use your hands to block it!" Sora called out. Hariyama quickly turned around and blocked the attack with his large hands. Shiftry's Bullet Seed bounces off of Shiftry's hands.
"Hariyama uses its large hands to block that Bullet Seed! It really pays to have strong hands!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Hariyama! Use Force Palm!" Sora ordered. Hariyama moves his hand forward and a burst of energy hits Shiftry on the mark, paralyzing Shiftry on the mark.
"Shiftry! Air Slash!" Vito ordered. Shiftry jumped up and unleashed Air Slash at the Arm Thrust Pokémon.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Hariyama dodges the air attack just by jumping.
"For a Pokémon so large, it sure is a good jumper!" The announcer announced.
"Use Heavy Slam!" Sora ordered. Hariyama comes down onto Shiftry like a comet. Hariyama lands right on top of Shiftry.
"Ooh, that has got to hurt," Lyra said.
"I never heard of Heavy Slam. What does that do?" Wally asked.
"It's a Steel-type move that works kinda like Body Slam, but the amount of damage that move inflicts greatly depends on the Pokémon's weight," Max said.
"In other words, the heavier the user, the more damage it does," Riku added.
"That move would have caused a lot more damage if Hariyama was a Snorlax," Ash said.
Snorlax then gets off of Shiftry. The Wicked Pokémon was knocked out from the impact.
"Shiftry is unable to battle! The winner is Hariyama!" The referee announced.
"Vito is now down to more remaining! Will Vito be sending his Swellow back out or does he have a little surprise waiting for him?" The announcer asked. Vito called back his Shiftry and he smiled.
"You did your best, Shiftry. You've earned yourself a good rest," Vito said. He took out his Swellow's Pokéball and threw it. "Alright, Swellow, you're going back out!" His Pokéball opened and his Swellow back out to battle. The Swallow Pokémon was panting heavy from the battle it had with Pikachu earlier.
"Vito has sent Swellow back out to battle against Hariyama! It looks tenderized from the intense battle it had with Pikachu earlier, but will its typing save it from being defeated or will Sora have something up his sleeve?" The announcer asked. Sora called back Hariyama and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Solrock! Back to action!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and Solrock came back out to battle.
"Solrock comes right back out to battle!" The announcer announced.
"Swellow! Use Aerial Ace!" Vito ordered.
"Use Psychic!" Sora ordered. Solrock uses Psychic on the Swallow Pokémon before it could act on Aerial Ace and then slams it down hard. Swellow was knocked out from the attack.
"Swellow is unable to battle! Solrock wins!" The referee announced.
"Swellow didn't have that much of a fight left after all! Vito is now down to one Pokémon, so he's going have to make his next one count or else it's going to be all over for him!" The announcer announced. Vito called back his Swellow and he took out his next Pokéball out.
"I've been saving you for last. Now is good a time as ever to use you," Vito said, getting ready to throw it. "Alright, you're going in, Swalot!" His Pokéball opened and a Swalot emerged from inside. It was ready to battle.
"Vito's final Pokémon is a Swalot! Solrock is a Psychic-type Pokémon, so we're gonna find out if Swalot can turn that disadvantage to an advantage or will Sora be walking away with a near-perfect attendance!" The announcer announced.
"I gotta be ready for anything that Swalot can throw at me. Use Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Solrock fires Flamethrower right at the Poison Bag Pokémon.
"Dodge it and use Toxic!" Vito ordered. Swalot dodges Solrock's Flamethrower and spat out a stream of purple liquid from its mouth at Solrock, badly poisoning it.
"Ooh! Solrock is now badly poisoned by Swalot's Toxic!" The announcer announced.
"Use Venoshock!" Vito ordered. Solrock fired a Venoshock, hitting Solrock, dealing some heavy damage.
"That look like it did loads of damage," Naminé said.
"Venoshock deals much heavier damage when the target's poisoned. That must have been his plan right from the get-go. He must have saved that Swalot for last just so he could find out what kind of Sora is," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
Back to the Winstrate family, the room was full of cheers, because they knew Vito was starting to make a comeback.
"Vito is starting to make a comeback!" Victor said.
"I knew he'd turn it around!" Victoria said.
"Well, what can we expect from Vito? When he gets in a corner, he comes back out with a big bounce," Vicky said.
"Yay, Vito!" Vivi cheered.
Back to the battlefield, Vito was about to give the word.
"Swalot! Shadow Ball!" Vito ordered. Swalot forms a Shadow Ball and threw it at Solrock, dealing some heavy damage. Swalot was knocked out from the blast.
"Solrock is unable to battle! Swalot wins!" The referee announced.
"Vito has taken down Sora's Solrock! Now, which one will Sora be sending out next?" The announcer asked as Sora called his Solrock back. He looked at Pikachu.
"Okay, Pikachu, back to action," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu nodded with agreement and stepped back in the battlefield.
"Pikachu! Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu forms a ball of electricity and sends it right at Swalot.
"Dodge and use Toxic!" Vito ordered. Swalot dodges Pikachu's Electro Ball and spat out Toxic, badly poisoning Pikachu like it did with Solrock.
"Pikachu is badly poisoned from Swalot's Toxic!" The announcer announced.
"Venoshock!" Vito ordered. Swalot unleashed Venoshock and hits Pikachu hard, knocking the Mouse Pokémon out.
"Pikachu is unable to battle! Swalot wins!" The referee announced.
"Tough break for Sora since Pikachu was taken out by Swalot's Toxic and Venoshock combo!" The announcer announced. Sora walked over to Pikachu and picked him up.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Don't sweat the small stuff, Pikachu. You did your best," Sora said, returning to his spot. "Get yourself a good rest."
"Chu," Pikachu said. Sora placed Pikachu down by his side and he took out Kangaskhan's Pokéball and threw it.
"Kangaskhan! Back to action!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and Kangaskhan came back out to battle.
"Sora sends Kangaskhan back out to battle against Swalot! Will Kangaskhan make up for its fallen comrades or will it be beaten like Banette, Solrock, and Pikachu?" The announcer asked.
"Shadow Ball will have zero effect on Kangaskhan since it's a Normal-type Pokémon, but I have another ace up my sleeve," Vito said.
"Okay, Swalot! Use Dizzy Punch!" Sora ordered. Kangaskhan rushes at Swalot with a Dizzy Punch.
"Dodge and use Body Press!" Vito ordered. Swalot dodged Kangaskhan's Dizzy Punch and lands on the Parent Pokémon with a Body Press.
"Body Press is a Fighting-type move, and Kangaskhan's a Normal-type," Leaf said.
"And it's a known fact that Normal-types are weak against Fighting-types," Ethan said.
"Clever of Vito to teach that to Swalot," Rei said.
"Toxic!" Vito ordered. Swalot spewed Toxic, badly poisoning Kangaskhan. "Venishock!" Swalot spewed Venoshock and lands a devastating hit onto Kangaskhan. The Parent Pokémon was knocked out as the baby was squeaking to her mother.
"Kangaskhan is unable to battle! Swalot wins!" The referee announced.
"And Kangaskhan makes four of Sora's losses! Which one will Sora be sending out next?" The announcer asked. Sora called back Kangaskhan and took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Hariyama! Back to action!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and Hariyama came back out to battle. "Use Headlong Rush!" Hariyama charges at Swalot with Headlong Rush.
"Dodge it and use Toxic!" Vito ordered. Swalot dodged Hariyama's attack and spat out Toxic, badly poisoning Hariyama. "Venoshock!" Swalot spat out Venoshock, dealing some heavy damage, knocking Hariyama out.
"Hariyama is unable to battle! Swalot wins!" The referee announced.
"And there you have it! Vito is making a tremendous comeback with that incredible Swalot! Sora is now down to one Pokémon left in reserves, so what will be his last Pokémon, I wonder?" The announcer asked. Sora took out his Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Dusknoir! You're going in!" Sora called out. Dusknoir came out to battle against Swalot.
"And Sora's final Pokémon is Dusknoir! Let's see which one will be moving on as the final top four Trainer!" The announcer announced.
"So he's sending out a Dusknoir. Dusknoir are slow-moving Pokémon, so it'll be a snap for me. Swalot! Shadow Ball!" Vito ordered.
"Dusknoir! You use Shadow Ball, too!" Sora ordered.
Swalot and Dusknoir each fired Shadow Ball and they collide with each other. An explosion occurred between the both of them.
"Swalot and Dusknoir each fired a Shadow Ball!!" The announcer announced.
"Use Shadow Punch!" Sora ordered. Dusknoir sends out a shadowy fist at Swalot, landing a hit. "Shadow Punch again!" Dusknoir sends out another Shadow Punch, landing another hit.
"That has got to hurt! A double whammy of Shadow Punch can do that; especially when it never misses!" The announcer announced.
"Swalot! Use Toxic!" Vito ordered.
"Dusknoir! Phantom Force!" Sora ordered. Dusknoir sinks into the ground as Swalot spat out Toxic. Swalot misses its mark completely.
"What a clean escape with that Phantom Force!" The announcer announced.
"Stay alert, Swalot! Dusknoir could come out from anywhere!" Vito said. Swalot looked around for the Gripper Pokémon, but Dusknoir uppercuts the Poison Bag Pokémon, sending backwards. Dusknoir emerged from where it punched Swalot.
"Dusknoir makes a good hit with that Phantom Force!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, use Shadow Ball!" Vito ordered.
"Shadow Punch!" Sora ordered. Swalot sends out a Shadow Ball at Dusknoir, but Dusknoir sends out a Shadow Punch, knocking Shadow Ball back and landing a punch onto Swalot. "Shadow Ball!" Dusknoir sends out a Shadow Ball it strikes Swalot on the mark.
"Wow, that Dusknoir might be fast, but it's stronger than I thought. Not gonna let that stop me! Shadow Ball!" Vito ordered. Swalot fired Shadow Ball at Dusknoir.
"Phanton Force!" Sora ordered. Dusknoir sinks into the ground, avoiding Swalot's Shadow Ball.
"Dusknoir manages to avoid Swalot's Shadow Ball with another Phantom Force!" The announcer announced. Dusknoir lands an uppercut onto Swalot once again, sending the Poison Bag Pokémon back in the air.
"Use Shadow Punch!" Sora ordered. Dusknoir lands a Shadow Punch, landing another punch onto Swalot. It lands on the ground, beaten.
"Swalot is unable to battle! Dusknoir wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"And Sora now makes number four in the championships!" The announcer announced. Vito called back his Swalot and he smiled.
"You battled hard out there, Swalot. And so has the others. I'm so proud of you," Vito said.
Over to the Winstrate home, Vito's family were shocked to see that Vito had actually lost.
"I don't believe it. Vito lost," Victoria said.
"Waah! It's not fair!" Vivi cried.
"Dry those tears, Vivi. Vito wouldn't want that," Vicky said to her granddaughter.
"Your grandma's right, Vivi. You can't always win them all. Vito did his best battling and I couldn't be any prouder of him," Victor said.
"I agree with your father, Vivi. Win or lose, Vito will always be a winner to our family," Vicky said.
"Yeah!" Vivi said, getting over her big brother's loss.
Back at the stadium, Vito shook Sora's hand, congratulating his opponent for the victory over him.
"I gotta tell you, Sora, you're one of the toughest Trainers I have ever faced. It's no wonder you're a Pokémon League Champion. There's no shame in losing to you," Vito said.
"Thanks, Vito. And I gotta tell you, you're a hard battler, just like your grandma. And I can understand about doing certain things for your family. And I know they're very proud of how hard you battled today," Sora said.
"Thank you, Sora. You're really nice. And good luck," Vito said.
After the battle, Sora had his Pokémon healed from their injuries and he sees that he'll be up against Tyson in the next battle. Brendan will be having his battle before that.
"So, it's Sora and Tyson tomorrow," Ventus said.
"Somehow, I knew it would end up being this way," Tyson said.
"Yeah, I kinda did, too. I want you to give me everything you got," Sora said.
"You can count on that, Sora," Tyson said.
Sora and Tyson locked hands, promising each other a hard battle on the next day. Now that Sora has made it in the top four, it gets even more challenging going on ahead. Will Sora be able to beat Tyson and move on in the final round, or will it be Tyson? Stick around if you wanna find out.
