Episode 402: Dawn's Keyblade
Before we start, I originally planned on Roxas and Lucas having their Gym battles against Roark on the same chapter, but I decided to break them up into two additional chapters instead, and I'm working on the reunion of Roxas, Xion, and Lea, but how and when I hadn't decided yet, but it'll be done. And I decided to have Dawn retrieve her Keyblade earlier in the Sinnoh arc, and Lucas would follow at a much later chapter. Anyway, here is the chapter, so read it at your pleasure.
After splitting up, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Lucas, Dawn, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, and Piplup are venturing through the woods as Sora has come across a red Stunky.
"A Shiny Stunky. Another Sinnoh Pokémon for me to catch," Sora said. He looked over at his partner. "You wanna have a go, buddy?"
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I thought you would. Go get that Stunky!" Sora said as Pikachu stepped in to battle the Skunk Pokémon. "Pikachu! Electro Ball!" Pikachu forms an Electro Ball and sends it right at Stunky, landing a hit. Stunky came at Pikachu with a Scratch. Stunky then spewed a purple poisonous gas from its mouth. "Poison Gas! Dodge it and use Iron Tail!" Pikachu dodged Stunky's Poison Gas and came at Stunky with Iron Tail, landing a hit. "Thunderbolt!" Pikachu fired a Thunderbolt, shocking the Skunk Pokémon. Seeing Stunky was weakened enough, Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. Stunky flowed inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora picked up his new Pokéball and smiled. "I caught a Shiny Stunky."
"Pi, Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
Meanwhile, Kairi has come across a small, white squirrel-like Pokémon with a faint blueish tint and a light blue stripe starting from its forehead and goes all the way down to the tip of the tail. It has little arms and legs. A large white tooth grows out of its mouth. It has deep gray eyes and a yellow circle on each cheek. Its tail is almost twice as big as its body, with three spikes at the top of the curl.
"I wonder what kind of Pokémon that is," Kairi said, taking out her Rotom Phone.
Pachirisu, the EleSquirrel Pokémon
Type: Electric
It stores its own fur balls that crackle with static electricity together with its favorite berries in tree hollows.
"Well, he looks like cute Pokémon," Kairi said. She turned to Angel. "You ready to go, Angel?"
"Eevee!" Angel said. She stepped in to battle Pachirisu.
"Use Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel fired Swift at the EleSquirrel Pokémon and he fll out of the tree. Pachirisu became angered and fired a Discharge at Angel. "Dodge it and use Quick Attack!" Angel dodged Pachirisu's Discharge and came at him with a Quick Attack, landing a hit. Pachirisu unleashed another Discharge, hitting Angel on the mark. Pachirisu came at Angel with a Quick Attack. "Headbutt!" Angel lands a Headbutt on the squirrel-like Pokémon, making him flinch. "Iron Tail!" Angel swings her tail, hitting Pachirisu on the mark. Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it. Pachirisu flowed inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. "And I have myself an adorable Pachirisu!"
"Eevee, vee!" Angel cheered.
Meanwhile, a woman stepped out of a room. She is a beautiful woman with tan skin, silver hair, and green eyes. She wore a beautiful black dress black heels.
"Hey there, good-lookin," a familiar voice. She turned to see Xigbar and she smiled widely.
"Xigbar. I wasn't expecting to you see you here of all places," the woman said. She then noticed Xigbar's injuries and she placed a hand on his cheek. "Oh, you poor baby. You got scratched up. I'm just sorry that I wasn't there to kiss it and make it better."
"Don't worry about me, Belinda. A scratch on my face didn't ruin my week. The old coot needed me to make it look good when he pretended to be my prisoner. But I'll admit, I didn't think it needed to look that good," Xigbar said.
"You never could let anything keep you down. Is it true about Xehanort, then? I've been hearing word from Insidious and Ernesh that Xehanort has been recompleted just like you and the rest of the Organization, isn't that?" Belinda asked.
"It is. But having his heart and body separated for all these centuries really did a number on him, considering his old age, so it's gonna take a long time until he gets his full power back. So, what's new from your end?" Xigbar asked.
"Ernesh and Darklight are competing with each other, for starters. They already sent out their apprentices to deal with the Guardians of Kingdom Hearts, so it could be at any moment," Belinda said.
"Sounds like everything is going smoothly from your end. Sounds like I was right to include you in this plan after all," Xigbar said.
"Yeah, you were. And I have a hunch that one of the new Guardians of Kingdom Hearts is about to awaken from inside them. Which one, I have no idea," Belinda said.
"All we can do is wait and find out. What about possibilities of membership in the real Organization? Any luck in that department?" Xigbar asked.
"The count seems to think Riku is the most likely because of the darkness inside of him," Belinda said.
"I have a feeling it might have something to do with Gaia when he used the darkness on me. And I have a feeling Riku would tap into it, too. I almost feel sorry for the poor sap who provoke him, and I don't mean Ernesh," Xigbar said.
"No, but I have a feeling he's going to make his move against them soon enough. But the problem he's going to have is that light that shines very brightly. It comes from the friends he made, the Pokémon he has, and that girlfriend of his," Belinda said.
"Xehanort had that same problem, but he kept at it. And his hard work eventually paid off when he gained control of Gaia's body and started everything," Xigbar said.
"Yes, you, Xehanort, and the rest of Ansem's apprentices founded Organization XIII, but you and Xemnas conspired to keep the truth of them developing their own hearts a secret, even his second-in-command was left in the dark," Belinda said.
"And still is," Xigbar said, grinning before he chuckled. "Anyway, I've taken enough of your time, so I'm gonna head back. You stay in this world and do your thing. We'll talk again when there's something to talk about."
"Of course. Just try not to keep me waiting," Belinda said as Xigbar grinned before he left through a corridor of darkness. "That scar and that eyepatch doesn't suit your handsome face, Braig."
Back in Sinnoh, Dawn comes across a Pachirisu of her own, but has a shorter stripe than the one Kairi has, indicating that it's a female Pachirisu. She noticed her.
"You're so cute!" Dawn cooed.
The couple rejoined Riku, Naminé, Lucas, Rei, Eevee, and Azurill after they made their successful catch.
"So, what's up?" Sora asked.
"Dawn's been standing there and staring at that Pachirisu for a while," Lucas said.
"I think she wants to catch it," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
The wild Pachirisu ran around, chasing her own tail around like a hyperactive puppy. Pachirisu stopped like her own tail. Dawn was moved by how cute it looked.
"Oh! I can't stand it! I want you!" Dawn exclaimed. She took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Now, Piplup! Go!" Piplup came out to battle. "Use Peck!" Piplup moved in with a Peck, but the wild Pachirisu responds with by blowing a kiss and a pink heart floats toward the Penguin Pokémon. Piplup ends up being confused.
"Piplup's confused from that Sweet Kiss," Namimé said. Dawn called back Piplup and took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Buneary! Go!" Buneary came out to battle. "Buneary! Dizzy Punch!" Pachirisu fought back by charging at Buneary with her body emitting blue electricity.
"That was Spark," Riku said. The Rabbit Pokémon fell on the ground. "You okay?" Buneary slowly gets up.
"Buneary! Ice Beam!" Dawn ordered. Buneary fired an Ice Beam at the EleSquirrel Pokémon. But Pachirisu dodged the Ice Beam. We missed!" Buneary panted Pachirisu fired a Discharge, shocking everyone around her.
"That furball is tough," Lucas groaned. Sora looked at Pachirisu and noticed how tired she was getting.
"And I think that furball is getting tired," Sora said.
Seeing Pachirisu tired, Dawn took out Piplup's Pokéball and threw it.
"Now's my chance! Piplup! Come on back out!" Dawn called out. Piplup came back out to battle. "Bubble Beam!" Piplup fired Bubble Beam at the EleSquirrel Pokémon. Dawn took out her Pokéball and threw it. Pachirisu flowed inside the Pokéball and it wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. "Alright! I just caught a Pachirisu!"
"Piplup!" Piplup said.
"Buneary!" Buneary said.
"Way to go, Dawn!" Kairi said.
"Nice one," Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"Eevee, vee!" Angel said. Buneary pushes Angel to the side, openly flirting with Pikachu again. Pikachu was getting nervous as Angel was just peeved. Angel and Buneary were once again fighting over Pikachu's affections as Pikachu's cheeks were building up electricity.
"What's up with those three?" Riku asked, noticing the scuffle.
"Oh, no. Not again," Kairi said.
"Buneary, that's enough!" Dawn said.
"Angel, calm down," Kairi said.
"What does she mean by 'again'?" Rei asked.
"Dawn's Buneary is in love with Pikachu, and they're always fighting over his affections," Sora explained.
"Is that so?" Rei asked. Pikachu's cheeks were going up again, much to Sora's dismay.
Sora tried to warn, "Pikachu, no! Don't you use your-" Too late. Everyone was getting shocked by Pikachu's Thunderbolt. Everyone was screaming from the electric shock until Pikachu stopped, "-Thunderbolt." Pikachu sheepishly chuckled to himself, knowing he did it again. Sora's hair became like a broom as Dawn's hair became bolt-shaped.
"My hair," Dawn groaned.
"Why do I suddenly feel like sweeping a floor?" Sora groaned from the shock.
"Hey, Dee-Dee!" A boy's voice called out.
"Dee-Dee?" Dawn asked.
"Dee-Dee?" Lucas asked.
"Dee-Dee?" Sora asked.
"Dee-Dee?" Kairi asked.
"Dee-Dee?" Riku asked.
"Dee-Dee?" Naminé asked.
"Is there an echo out here?" Rei asked.
"There's only one guy I know who knows that name!" Dawn exclaimed.
"It couldn't be!" Lucas said.
Approaching the group is a boy with red hair and black eyes. He wears a green T-shirt with a white border and stripe, a darker green long-sleeved undershirt, a Pokétch, khaki pants, and green and white sneakers with yellow stripes.
"That's right. Good to see ya, kid," the boy greeted with a smile.
"Kenny! It is you!" Dawn said.
"And lovin' that hairdo," Kenny teased.
"Anyone could have a bad hair day, you know!" Dawn said, getting her hair down. Kenny noticed Lucas with her.
"Hey, Lucas. It's been a while," Kenny said.
"Hey there, Kenny. Funny running into you out here," Lucas said.
"Do you know him?" Sora asked.
"Yeah. Kenny is from Twinleaf Town, same as me, Dawn, and Barry. We actually known each other since kindergarten," Lucas said. Kenny noticed Pikachu as he walked up next to her.
"Oh, Dee-Dee's got herself a Pikachu," Kenny said.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked.
"Dee-Dee's all grown up," Kenny said.
"Stop calling me Dee-Dee!" Dawn exclaimed.
"Also, this isn't her Pikachu. He's actually mine. My name's Sora," Sora introduced himself.
"My name's Kairi, and this is Angel," Kairi introduced.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"I'm Riku," Riku introduced himself.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"My name's Naminé," Naminé introduced herself.
"Azu, Azu," Azurill chirped.
"And I'm Rei Sakura," Rei introduced.
"Nice to meet you," Kenny said.
"We've been traveling together for a while," Dawn said.
"What? With them?" Kenny asked, surprised.
"Yeah. There are also some other friends of theirs, but they went their own way for a while, so I'm sure you;ll meet them soon enough," Dawn said.
A little while later, Dawn told Kenny some traveling stories, leaving out the Keyblade and the Heartless.
"Wow, that's quite a story," Kenny said.
"And since you came from Twinleaf Town, what was your first Pokémon, Kenny?" Sora asked.
"I'll show you," Kenny said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Come on out and meet everybody!" His Pokéball opened and a Prinplup came out.
"A Prinplup," Naminé said. She took out her Rotom Phone and scanned Kenny's Pokémon.
Prinplup, the Penguin Pokémon
The evolved form of Piplup
Type: Water
One swing from its wings is strong enough to knock down an entire tree.
Piplup went up to Prinplup to greet it. Prinplup smacked Piplup down.
"Hey, what was that for?" Dawn asked.
"Sorry about that, but Prinplup gets testy when someone gets in his space. I'm the only one Prinplup doesn't have a problem with," Kenny explained as Piplup looked up at his evolved form. Piplup puffed up his chest, trying to size up Prinplup, but the evolved Penguin Pokémon wasn't impressed at all.
"Look at that. They're going at it like rivals," Sora said.
"Oh, why not get along?" Dawn sighed.
"Well, they are penguin Pokémon. I heard Prinplup aren't very sociable," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"I saw you in the Jublife City Contest. Were you copying me?" Kenny asked.
"I wouldn't copy you, ever! Piplup and I were made for each other," Dawn said. She sets her attention to Piplup. "Isn't that right, sweetie?"
"Piplup!" Piplup said.
"I don't think I ever saw you in the Jublife City Pokmon Contest. Were you even there?" Kairi asked.
"It was on TV. And so was my match, so why weren't you watching, Dee-Dee?" Kenny asked.
"I told you to stop calling me Dee-Dee, and I just didn't. But I never pictured you as a Coordinator," Dawn said.
"Me neither, Kenny. I don't think you ever mentioned it at all," Lucas said.
"Well, my first Contest was a while back. It was before the Contest in Jublife City. Like you, I made it to the finals. My opponent ended up being a Coordinator with a Glameow, and her name is Zoey," Kenny said.
"Zoey did have a Ribbon before the Jubilife City Contest, so it had to be that one," Kairi said.
"That makes sense," Sora agreed.
"So, Kairi, was it? I saw you in the Jubilife City Contest, you beat Zoey and Dee-Dee with that Squirtle, didn't you?" Kenny asked.
"Yeah, I did," Kairi said.
"And what's your story, Sora? Are you in Pokémon Contests, too?" Kenny asked.
"No, he isn't. Sora is actually competing in the Sinnoh Pokeémon League, same as me, and his brother," Lucas said.
"Really?" Kenny asked.
"That's right," Sora said.
"I watched Sora, Lucas, and Roxas battle in the Oreburgh City Gym and they each won the Coal Badge," Dawn said. He looked right at Sora.
"Um, what?" Sora asked.
"Nothing. You got your stories, but I mine; even some of Dee-Dee back in kindergarten," Kenny said, making Dawn huff up.
"You wouldn't dare," Dawn said.
"Dawn, cool it," Riku said.
"When it comes to stories, I've got tons of 'em," Kenny said.
"Like what? We're all ears," Sora said.
"Piplup," Piplup said, wanting to hear it.
"Kenny, do you have to?" Dawn asked.
They'll love it. One time, Dawn's mom made her this haircut she couldn't stand, so she tried to cut it herself. You wouldn't believe how it turned out. It made her look like a Chimchar," Kenny said.
"I remember," Lucas said, trying not to laugh. Piplup also tried not to laugh.
"Et tu, Piplup? Whose side are you on?!" Dawn exclaimed. She glared at Lucas who then stopped laughing.
"Smart move to stop laughing," Rei said in her thoughts.
"That happened in kindergarten!" Dawn exclaimed.
"Oh, yeah. How about that play we did right at the same time. She sneezed and then she fell and started to cry. What a sneeze. What a riot," Kenny said.
"It wasn't funny to me!" Dawn said.
"And there was one time she came to school in her pajamas. She wore two different shoes, and you'll never guess what she said," Kenny said.
"No need to worry," Sora, Kairi, and Lucas said in unison. Kenny was surprised when he heard them say that.
"How do you two know that?" Kenny asked.
"We've heard that before," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Yet, we can't help but worry when she says that," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"I've had enough!" Dawn angrily exclaimed. She then stood up. "If you think I am the way I was back then, you got another thing coming! I'll show you a real Pokémon battle!" Dawn said.
"Piplup!" Piplup said. Kenny looked at Kairi.
"What I want is a battle against Kairi's Squirtle," Kenny said.
"My Squirtle?" Kairi asked.
"Vee?" Angel asked. Dawn was annoyed that Kenny just ignored her.
"Did you hear what I said or not?" Dawn asked.
"Lup!" Piplup said.
"Look, I wanna make Prinplup stronger, so I wanna battle someone with some real oomph!" Kenny said.
"Prinplup!" Prinlup said. Dawn and Piplup growled.
"You may have started your journey before me, what a baby!" Dawn said.
"Cool your jets, Dawn. It's not worth getting worked up over," Riku said.
"Who asked you, mop top?"
"Mop top?" Riku asked. Eevee then tried to hold in a chuckle.
"Hey, whose side are you on?" Riku asked.
"Don't take it out on Riku. He just wants to battle me, or why not?" Kairi asked. Kairi and Kenny took their place at each sides of a battlefield as Sora, Riku, Naminé, Lucas, Dawn, Rei, Pikachu, and Angel are watching. Kairi took out her Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Squirtle! You're going in!" Her Pokéball opened and Squirtle came on out.
"There it is. That's the Squirtle. The same Squirtle that beat Zoey's Glameow.," Kenny said, looking at Squirtle's bandana. "You can have the first move, Kairi."
"Squirtle! Use Ice Punch!" Kairi ordered. Squirtle came at Prinplup with an Ice Punch.
"Use Metal Claw!" Kenny ordered. Prinplup uses Metal Claw to block Squirtle's Ice Punch and sends the Tiny Turtle Pokémon back. Squirtle wasn't close to giving up.
"Kenny's Prinplup is so strong. I can see why he made it to the finals," Dawn said.
"Now, it's my turn. Prinplup! Drill Peck, let's go!" Kenny ordered. Prinplup charges at Squirtle before jumping with his beak extending.
"Be ready, Squirtle!" Kairi said.
"Squirt," Squirtle said. Prinlup does a spin, going down.
"Okay, Squirtle! Do a spin!" Kairi ordered. Squirtle withdrew in his shell before doing a spin. Squirtle spins passed Prinlup, much to Kenny's surprise.
"Ah, man," Kenny said.
"Use Mega Kick!" Kairi ordered. Squirtle dives down at Prinplup and gave the Penguin Pokémon a kick on the leg.
"Prinplup! Bubble Beam, now!" Kenny ordered. Prinplup fired Bubble Beam and used the bubbles to soften his landing. The bubbles popped. "Way to go!"
"Wow, what a way to use Bubble Beam," Dawn said.
"There's no question he trained his Prinplup well. The way he pulled off that technique is perfect for any Coordinator," Rei said.
Not too far away, Kanako, Lucius, and Silver Moon have arrived and they spotted the battle in progress.
"There they are. Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, and what seems to be two new Guardians of Kingdom Hearts, along with Rei Sakura. The ones the master told us about, but the rest of them aren't even here," Kanako said.
"Riku is the one the master wants, so we take him alive," Silver Moon said.
"Hey, who cares about that silver-haired loser? We should just take them all out now!" Lucius said.
"First of all, Lucius, the master cares, so he wants him alive. I will not disobey an order," Silver Moon said.
"Silver Moon is right. The master will punish us if we fail, so we can't afford to make a single mistake for this mission," Kanako said.
"Whatever," Lucius scoffed.
"Now, to send in the first wave," Silver Moon said as he snapped his fingers. From out of the blue, Heartless started to appear. The Heartless are Shadows, Soldiers, Large Bodies, Minute Bombs, and some other Heartless.
One of these Heartless all looked like penguins. The penguin-like Heartless all are red and the underbellies are all white, like all penguins. The Heartless emblem is located on their bellies. They have the traditional Heartless yellow eyes. This kind of Heartless shall be known as the Little Red Penguin. (I'm sure some of you heard of little blue penguins that comes from New Zealand, so I came up with this.)
The other kind of Heartless are all seal-like Heartless. They're all yellow with black stripes. The Heartless symbol is located on the chest. They have the yellow Heartless eyes. These are known as the Tiger Seal. (I know you heard of the leopard seal since they're the penguin's natural predator.)
One kind of Heartless is a green penguin, and has the same design as the Little Red Penguins, but they fired green energy as an attack. These shall be Little Green Penguins.
Another kind of Heartless is much larger than the Little Red Penguins and the Little Green Penguins. It's dark blue in color with the white underbellies. They all had the Heartless emblem on its belly and wore a purple regal coat with a queen's crown. These shall be known as the Queen Penguins.
The other kind of Heartless is the tallest, and they wore a gold regal coat and a similar queen's crown. The Heartless emblem is located on the white underbellies. These shall be known as the Empress Penguins.
There are some Nobodies, consisting of Dusks, Creepers, Sorcerers, Snipers, Dragoons, Assassins, Ninjas, Reapers, and Samurais.
And there were also Unversed. The Unversed consisted of Floods, Archravens, Scrappers, Bruisers, Thornbites, Axe Flaps, and Turtletoads.
"Heartless!" Dawn gasped.
"Not just Heartless, but Nobodies, and Unversed, too!" Naminé said.
"This we didn't need," Sora said, summoming his Kingdom Key. Kairi summoned her Destiny's Embrace as Riku summoned his Braveheart, Naminé summoned her Oathkeeper, and Rei summomed the Star Cluster. Kenny was amazed by what he saw.
"Are those keys?" Kenny asked.
"They're Keyblades," Dawn said.
"Keyblade?" Kenny asked.
"Dawn, Lucas, Kenny, get to safety!" Rei said.
"Right! Let's go!" Lucas said as the trio went to a safe place.
"Take them all down!" Rei said.
Sora, Kairi, Riku, and Naminé complied with their master by slaying the attacking Heartless. The Tiger Seals came for Riku, but he struck them down as a Bruiser came at Naminé, but she struck it down with a single swing. Pikachu fired Thunderbolt as Squirtle fired a Water Gun, Angel fired Swift, Eevee fired Shadow Ball, and Azurill fired Bubble. A Dragoon came at Sora as it lunged at Sora, but he grabbed the spear and used it against its owner. Sora then threw the spear, impaling a Sorcerer, a Large Body, a Bruiser, and several Shadows. Snipers shoot at Kairi, but she casts a crystal thunder spell, destoying them all as Queen Penguins and Empress Penguins came at her, but Kairi casts a magnet spell, pulling in all of the Tiger Seals and the penguin-themed Heartless. Kairi casts a crystal blizzard spell, destroying them all. Sora casts an aura fire spell, buring the Unversed as Riku struck down the Dusks that came at him. The last of the Heartless, Nobodies, and Unversed were destroyed. They panted as they looked around.
Just then, Lucius came at them, screaming as he held his Keyblade, intending to kill them. Rei blocked his Keyblade with hers and she pushed him back. Kanako and Silver Moon appeared before them, also holding their Keyblades.
"Friends of yours?" Kenny asked.
"No," Lucas and Dawn asked.
"Okay, who are you?" Rei asked.
"We have to eliminate you, except for him," Silver Moon said, pointing to Riku. He was puzzled on why he was to be alive.
"Why me?" Riku asked.
"That is for us to know," Silver Moon said. Riku looked at Kanako and he could have sworn there was something familiar about her.
"Don't I know you? I have a feeling I've met you before," Riku said.
"Are you sure, big brother? Maybe you have. Just take a good look at me," Kanako said.
"What is she talking about?" Kairi asked. Riku does look at her and it took him a second to recognize her. He gasped.
"No way! Aren't you Kanako?" Riku asked.
"Kanako?" Dawn asked.
"Who?" Lucas asked.
"I'm glad you recognize me, big brother," Kanako said.
"Brother?!" Lucas and Dawn exclaimed in shock.
"It's been so long that we've seen each other," Kanako said. Riku saw she has a Keyblade as well.
"You got one, too?" Riku asked.
"You don't sound surprised," Kanako said. She chuckled. "These days, just about anyone gets one."
"Where have you been for all this time?" Riku asked.
"You could come with us and find out. After we've dealt with your friends," Kanako said. Riku held his Keyblade tight.
"I don't care if you're my sister, I won't let you hurt them!" Riku said.
"I hate to interrupt this family reunion, but who are you?" Sora asked.
"You can call me Silver Moon. I have been waiting to meet you," Silver Moon said.
"And I'm Lucius," Lucius said. Sora, Kairi, Riku, and Naminé gasped when they heard him say his name.
"Lucius? As in Ben's former apprentice?" Sora asked.
"Was it Hikaru that told you? I bet he said that I got tired of following Ben's rules and decided to follow my own rules!" Lucius said.
"Yeah, by using your Keyblade to attack innocent people!" Sora argued.
"Keyblades are not something you use on whoever for whatever you want! I don't know why you're so interested in Riku, but I will not let you take him anywhere with you!" Rei said.
"Big talk from a wannabe master," Lucius said.
"We'll just knock Riku out and take him back with us," Kanako said.
"Agreed. Let's go!" Silver Moon said as they engaged the Keyblade wielders.
Silver Moon was about to strike at Kairi, but she blocked his assault with her Keyblade and fought back. Kanako came for Naminé, but she also blocked it. He came for Sora and Riku, but they used their Keyblades to block his assault. They all clashed their Keyblades against one another. Lucius gave Sora a punch in the face before he gave Riku a blast of a dark fire spell. Lucius was about to strike down Sora, but Rei came to his aid by casting a blizzard spell, encasing him in ice.
"You're gonna pay for that!" Lucius hissed.
"Put that on my tab," Rei said. She clashed her Star Cluster against Lucius's Light of Ruin. "Sora, Riku, help Kairi and Naminé! I'll deal with Lucius!"
"Yes, Master," Sora said.
"We're on it," Riku said.
Sora and Riku went off to help their girlfriends. Silver Moon casts a gravity spell on Sora, Kairi, Riku, and Naminé. Lucas, Dawn, Kenny, Piplup, and Prinplup were shocked to see it.
"No," Dawn said.
"Well, time to end this. Starting with the blonde," Silver Moon said, raising his Moon Shadow.
"No!" Dawn yelled, running up to Silver Moon and pushes him.
"Dawn, no!" Lucas called out.
"What is your deal? How could you even just think of killing them while they're down?" Dawn asked.
"Excuse me for not being noble. But I'll guess I'll have to deal with you first," Silver Moon said, raising his Keyblade. Dawn braced herself, knowing she wasn't going to survive.
"DAWN!" Lucas and Kenny exclaimed.
"Piplup!" Piplup cried.
A flash of light surrounds Dawn and something appeared in her right hand, blocking Silver Moon's Keyblade. Everyone was surprised by what they saw. Dawn has a Keyblade of her own.
Dawn looked at her new Keyblade with awe. The blade of the Keyblade is dark gray with purple stripes. Palkia's head serves as the teeth and the top of the guard. The guard has Palkia's shoulder plates and the crystal in the middle. The token is a miniature Palkia in its Origin Form. This Keyblade shall be known as the Shining Pearl Palkia.
"No way. It's a Keyblade," Dawn said in awe.
"You don't think it's her, do you?" Lucius asked.
"It is. She's a Guardian of Kingdom Hearts. I can sense how strong her light is," Kanako said.
"New girl, this is your only day on the job!" Lucius exclaimed as he ran toward her. Dawn used her Keyblade to block Lucius's attack and she pushes him back. She then has a burst of magical energy.
"Whoa! I can use magic? I can use magic!" Dawn gleefully exclaimed.
"Dawn has a Keyblade," Lucas said.
Kanako, Silver Moon, and Lucius came at Dawn as she then casts an aero spell, blowing them away.
"Awesome! Magical wind!" Dawn said. She wondered what other magic she could use, so she tried a magnet spell, pulling in Kanako, Silver Moon, and Lucius. Sora, Kairi, Riku, and Naminé managed to stand up, amazed by how well Dawn was using her magic. Rei was just as amazed. Dawn then casts another aero spell, sending Kanako, Silver Moon, and Lucius flying into the air.
"THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING!" Lucius yelled as they went out of sight. A star twinkled in the distance.
"That was amazing," Naminé said.
"Dawn is one of us after all," Sora said.
"Part of our search is over," Kairi said.
"But it's still going on," Riku said.
Dawn turned to the group as Dawn held her new Keyblade.
"Hey, guys. Look! I have a Keyblade! How awesome is that?" Dawn asked.
"Very awesome, Dawn," Rei said, approaching Dawn with a smile. "You managed to perform some very impressive magic despite your first time holding a Keyblade. In doing so, you saved the lives of Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Naminé, and you have my thanks."
"I just couldn't let them take you out. They're my friends," Dawn said.
"Dawn, now that you have a Keyblade of your own, I want to make you my new apprentice. You have demonstrated your abilities with a Keyblade, but you can learn more abilities, but it won't be easy and the choice is yours alone," Rei said. Dawn smiled, wanting to know more about the Keyblade.
"I would like to have you as a teacher, so I do what I can to learn about using my Keyblade. No need to worry, Master," Dawn said. Rei couldn't help but chuckle.
"I can't help but worry when you say that," Rei said to her new apprentice. Everyone all laughed as they approached her.
"Welcome to the team, Dawn," Sora said. Dawn looked at the others and smiled.
Meanwhile, Kanako, Silver Moon, and Lucius made a landing somewhere else.
"Man, this is humiliating. Beaten by some girl who never held a Keyblade before. I didn't sign up for this!" Lucius said.
"Maybe we didn't, but the master must know about this," Kanako said, taking out a magic stone. Count Ernesh appeared through it.
"Have you anything to report, my apprentices?" Count Ernesh asked.
"Yes, Master. We have some of the Guardians of Kingdom Hearts, especially Riku. What's more, Rei Sakura was with them. We were about to finish them off when a new Guardian of Kingdom Hearts has revealed herself to us," Kanako reported.
"A new Guardian of Kingdom Hearts, you say?" Count Ernesh asked.
"Yes, Master. A girl named Dawn. She could be Sakura's newest apprentice by now," Kanako said.
"I am disappointed by your failure, you three, but a new Guardian of Kingdom Hearts is now known. Do not engage any of the others and await further commands until further notice," Count Ernesh said.
"Yes, Master," Kanako and Silver Moon said in unison. Lucius said nothing. Count Ernesh then vanished.
Back with the group, Lucas and Dawn ends up explaining to Kenny about what he saw.
"So, those Heartless as you call those creatures that attacked you and how you met Sora and the others?" Kenny asked.
"Yeah. Those other ones I was only told about. Those white things had to be Nobodies, and the other ones had to be Unversed," Dawn said.
"And about the Keyblade. We were told it's the only thing the Heartless are afraid of," Lucas said.
"So, Rei is the teacher of the bunch, right?" Kenny asked.
"Yeah, she is. And my new teacher starting today," Dawn said, looking at her Keyblade.
"Dawn, come here," Rei said. Dawn complied as the Rotom Phones are floating above with Roxas, Xion, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Wes, Rui, and Michael on their phones. "Show them." Dawn held up her Keyblade for them to see.
"A Keyblade, just like she said," Kris said.
"So, Dawn's one of us after all," Brendan said.
"Somehow, I was actually hoping it was you, Dawn," May said.
"She filled us in about what happened," Ethan said.
"Yeah, three Keyblade wielders, but they attacked you," Leaf said.
"And one of them is Riku's sister," Xion said.
"Any idea on who they are?" Elaine asked.
"No, but I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of them. And there'll be more more of them coming our way," Rei said.
"More? You mean other Keyblade wielders who are going to be our enemies?" Rui asked.
"You think they might be with Vanitas?" Chase asked.
"It wouldn't surprise me if they did, Chase," Roxas said.
"We're gonna have to be ready for them," Ash said.
"I agree. It's unlikely they're going to back down," Wes said.
"What did they want with Riku?" Michael asked.
"I don't know, but I doubt they'll just tell us," Rei said.
"That would have been too easy anyway," Lyra said.
"When you do come across any Keyblade wielders like them, report it to me at once. Understood?" Rei asked.
"Yes, Master," the group said.
"You'll know when we do," Xion said.
"Good. In the meantime, Dawn, our newest Keyblade wielder will begin her training, beginning today," Rei said.
"Do your best to learn from her, Dawn," Ash said.
"I will. No need to worry," Dawn said.
"We're just going to worry when you say it," Leaf said. Dawn became bashful when Leaf sounded like her mother. Speaking of which, she wasn't sure how she would react when she hears she has a magical weapon.
"That is all for right now," Rei said as they broke contact.
A little while later, Kenny stood before the group as they were about to depart.
"Well, it was great seeing you again, Lucas, Dawn. And it was great meeting you. I never would have imagined you would be in the monster hunting game," Kenny said.
"Well, it's the monsters that usually hunts for us," Sora said.
"We're just sorry you had to be caught in the middle of it," Kairi said.
"Don't worry about. I'm just glad those monsters are gone," Kenny said.
"But there's one thing that's been on my mind for a while," Sora said.
"Yeah? What is it?" Kenny asked.
"Why do you call Dawn 'Dee-Dee'?" Sora asked. Dawn got into Sora's face.
"I don't care if you're the leader of the Union, Sora! It's none of your business!" Dawn exclaimed. She then turned to Lucas. "And don't you tell them, Lucas!"
"I won't," Lucas said.
"Kenny, just because I have a Keyblade now, it doesn't mean I'm not about Contests! I plan on beating you," Dawn said.
"I'm already looking forward to it, Dee-Dee," Kenny said in a teasing tone.
"Stop calling me Dee-Dee!" Dawn exclaimed.
Over to Count Ernesh's mansion, it was after Kanako, Silver Moon, and Lucius have made their report.
"I should have known Riku would never come along willingly, but no matter. I will have to give him a reason for him to get in touch with his darker side. And I know how to do so and the right person for such a task," Count Ernesh said, looking at a photo of Riku's Eevee and grinning evilly.
Dawn has her own Keyblade and is confirmed to be another Guardian of Kingdom Hearts, but only that, but Count Ernesh's apprentices have made themselves known, but it will not be the last they see of them.
