Episode 445: Come What Maylene

We open up with Rei and Ben as they got together to have a talk about the latest development, regarding Kanako.

"As happy as I am for you since Riku didn't end up like Lucius, Rei, but that is not what worries me. What worries me is the fact that Kanako was one of Count Ernesh's apprentices, so I do not have any doubts he will not overlook this unintentional change in affiliations," Ben said.

"I do agree with you, Ben. I had some doubts about Kanako at first, but Riku assured me that Kanako is no longer an enemy. And I know Count Ernesh will do whatever he could to try to either sway them over to his side, or he could kill them both. Either way, I can't let Ernesh harm them," Rei said.

"But can you be able to overcome him, Rei? He was my late master's master, and he will not be an easy opponent for you to overcome," Ben said.

"Fighting him is a lot better than just standing on the sidelines and doing nothing. I know you would do what you can to protect your apprentices if Ernesh ever sets his sights on them like he did with mine," Rei said.

"That is true. And I know Kaito will agree with you one hundred percent because he would protect you while putting his own life on the line. Though, I am saddened to say Ernesh won't do the same for his apprentices. He only sees them as his tools as Xehanort has seen those he manipulated," Ben said. He stroked his chin. "I cannot help but wonder if there's some sort of connection between Ernesh and Xehanort; especially that they have been silent until recent events."

"If there is, then we're gonna have to figure it out and soon," Rei said.

"Indeed," Ben agreed. "We mustn't overlook anything. We must investigate this in silence." Rei nodded as she understood.

We now go back to Veilstone City. Shortly after earning the Cobble Badge from Maylene, the group returned to the Pokémon Center and Sora had Staravia, Bronzor, and Mothim checked in to be healed. Sora opened up his Badge case and saw he was halfway through. Not only he thought about the other Gyms in Sinnoh, but there's also other places to head to after Sinnoh. He knew they had to find other candidates of the Keyblade and who would be Gurdians of Kingdom Hearts. He then heard the bell, indicating that his Pokémon are completely healed.

"How are my Pokémon, Nurse Joy?" Sora asked.

"They're all one hundred percent healed," Nurse Joy said.

"That's good to know," Sora said. He took out his Pokémon Box and he exchanged his Hippowdon, Mothim, and Bronzor for Gabite, Snover, and Stunky. Over to Kairi, she exchanged her Hippowdon for Chatot. Reggie then came to the Pokémon Center.

"Hey, I thought I'd find you here. You got your Gym Badge, right?" Reggie asked.

"He did. He actually put up such a great fight," Maylene said.

"Say, you battled against Paul?" Sora asked.

"I did, and I beat him," Maylene said.

"So he went somewhere to train for his rematch," Reggie said.

"Somehow, I have a feeling the daggers he already drew on me are being sharpened even more," Sora said in his thoughts.

"Since you won your Gym Badge, I thought you should know your next Gym battle should be Pastoria City," Maylene said.

"Pastoria City, huh? Thanks for the info," Sora said.

"Not a problem," Maylene said.

"Sora, your win in the Veilstone City Gym isn't the reason I'm here. I only came over to ask about Chimchar. How are you taking care of him?" Reggie asked.

"Really good care. Why?" Sora asked.

"Just curious? Also, is Chimchar still afraid of Zangoose?" Reggie asked.

"Come to think of it, he was afraid of Zangoose when we ran into a pack of Zangoose that one time. What does that have to do with anything?" Sora asked.

"How about we talk about it with your other friends?" Reggie asked. The group gathered to hear what Paul's brother had to say.

"What do you have to say about Chimchar, Reggie?" Kairi asked.

"Well, it's like this. It was a short time before Paul started his Gym battles. He saw Chimchar running from a pack of Zangoose. I'm not sure what it was about, but I'm guessing it had to be either territory or food, but either way, they didn't let up on chasing Chimchar. They had Chimchar cornered at a cliff, but then Chimchar's Blaze Kick in, and unleashed a powerful fire attack that defeated all of them. And that was when Paul caught Chimchar, until shortly after meeting you," Reggie said.

"I knew it. I knew it had something to do with Zangoose," Sora said.

"That explains why Paul was trying to do. He was trying to recreate that exact same moment, but he couldn't," Leaf said.

"He was trying recreate the moment," Ethan said.

"By pushing Chimchar beyond his limit," Brendan said.

"And when he couldn't, he just released Chimchar, without a care in the world," May said.

"Sounds like we all made an educated guess," Chase said.

"Pikachu," Volt said.

"That you did. But at least Chimchar is with a Trainer that's willing to work with him," Reggie said. Sora smiled at that. Lucas then had to speak up.

"Reggie, if it's okay, I would like to ask you something," Lucas said.

"Sure, Lucas. What is it?" Reggie asked.

"I was wondering if you could help me train for my Gym battle," Lucas requested.

"You sure, Lucas?" Tai asked.

"I think he is. Reg here used to be a Trainer, so it makes sense he wants to practice with him," Lea said.

"Yeah, what Lea said," Lucas said.

'If that's what you want, then I can't say no. I mean, I would like to get to know Paul's old Tag Battle partner," Reggie said.

"And if Lucas has to train for his Gym battle, then I'm going to have to practice, too," Roxas said.

"And we can help out in anyway we can," Davis said.

"You mean, anyway I can. One of Maylene's Pokémon is a Lucario, so why not practice with me?" Matt asked.

"Matt is right. You should take him up on his offer," Xion said.

"Eevee," Celeste said.

"Pika, Pikachu," Xipak said.

"Who said I'm not? I accept," Matt said.

"Great," Matt said.

With that said, Roxas and Matt shook hands.

Meanwhile, in a citadel in a city located in a different world, there is a man who is wearing black and red clothing, laying in a bed. His hair is styled with horns round the top of his head. He opened his eyes which are yellow-orange. His eyes are bloodshot He has light skin. Just then, a woman entered the room.

"Lord Malmener, you have awa-" The woman was cut off as he grabbed her by the throat. He snarled for a moment before he let her go.

"Where am I?" Malmener asked.

"You are in Nandalor. We brought you here after your defeat on Tenrou Island in Earthland. We were forfunate we got you here in time. You were alive, but you have been in a deep sleep," the woman said. "Do you remember?"

"Yes, I remember everything. How long have I been asleep?" Malmener asked.

"Seven years, Lord Malmener," the woman replied.

"Seven years. Tell me what has happened during my slumber," Malmener said.

Back in Veilstone City, Lucas and Reggie got into position for the training battle.

"I'm ready whenever you are, Lucas," Reggie said.

"Okay," Lucas said. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Grotle! Let's go!" His Pokéball opened and Grotle came on out to battle. Reggie took out a Pokéball and threw it.

"Go! Bibarel!" Reggie called out. His Pokéball opened and his Bibarel came out from inside. "You can make the first move, Lucas."

"Thanks. Grotle! Trailblaze!" Lucas ordered. Grotle charged right at the Beaver Pokémon with a Trailblaze.

"Dodge that ad use Super Fang!" Reggie ordered. Bibarel dodged Grotle's Trailblaze and came at the Grove Pokémon with a Super Fang. "Use Secret Power!" Bibarel gave off a pink aura and sent it right at Grotle. When it hit, the Grove Pokémon then fell right to sleep from it.

"Grotle fell asleep?" Dawn asked.

"Secret Power is a move that has a different affect depending on what the battlefield is. And it's a grassy field, Secret Power puts the opponents to sleep," Michael said.

"Use Take Down!" Reggie ordered. Bibarel charges right at Grotle, landing a hit and resulted in recoil damage. Grotle then woke up. "Grotle woke up already?!"

"Great, Grotle!" Lucas said.

"Super Fang! Go!" Reggie ordered. Bibarel charges right at Grotle.

"Dodge and use Razor Leaf!" Lucas ordered. Grotle dodges Bibarel's Super Fang with some incredible speed and fired a Razor Leaf, hitting the Beaver Pokémon. Reggie was impressed by Grotle's speed.

"Wow, that's impressive speed! I didn't think a Grotle could move that fast!" Reggie said.

"I had a lot of work and practice with my Grotle after having some weight problems. A Coordinator with a Torterra gave me some helpful advice," Lucas said.

"Use Ice Beam, Bibarel!" Reggie ordered. Bibarel fired Ice Beam right at the Grove Pokémon.

"Jump and use Energy Ball!" Lucas ordered. Grotle jumped in the air and fired an Energy Ball and lands a hit onto Bibarel, dealing some heavy damage and resulted in a knockout.

"Bibarel!" Reggie exclaimed.

"Great job, Grotle!" Lucas said.

"Grot!" Grotle said.

"Now, let's see how you handle this one," Reggie said, taking out a Pokéball. He threw it. "Swalot! Go!" His Pokéball and a Swalot came out to battle.

"Who's this Pokémon?" Lucas asked, taking out his Rotom Phone and scanned it.

Swalot, the Poison Bag Pokémon

The evolved form of Gulpin

Type: Poison

Swalot sprays a powerful poison upon their opponents from its pores.

Lucas called back his Grotle and took out a Pokéball threw it.

"Okay, Golbat! Let's go!" Lucas called out. His Pokéball opened and his Golbat came out to battle.

"Oh, it looks like his Zubat evolved," Sora said.

"Pika," Pikachu said.

"Okay, Golbat! Use Crunch!" Lucas ordered. Golbat flew right at Swalot with its fangs.

"Now, Swalot! Use Stockpile!" Reggie ordered as Swalot took a big gulp and grew a little larger. Golbat has landed a heavy bite attack.

"What the?" Lucas asked.

"Such strong jaws. Obviously well rasied," Reggie said.

"Use Wing Attack!" Lucas ordered. Golbat flew right at Swalot with a Wing Attack.

"Stockpile again!" Reggie ordered. Swalot took in another deep swallow, growing a littler again. Golbat lands another hit.

"Why doesn't Swalot just attack already?" Dawn asked.

"It's because Swalot's flexible body when using Stockpile," Sora said.

"What do you mean?" Dawn asked.

"Each time Swalot uses Stockpile, Swalot's building up energy to either launch Spit Up to attack or use Swallow to recover," Sora said.

"Wing Attack again!" Lucas ordered.

"Stockpile, one more time!" Reggie ordered. Swalot does another swallow and grew larger again as Golbat lands another Wing Attack. "Spit Up!" Swalot spits out a huge ball of energy and struck the Bat Pokémon, dealing some heavy damage.

"You called it, Sora. That Spit Up was really powerful," Chase said.

"Wing Attack one more time!" Lucas ordered.

"Use Sludge Bomb!" Swalot fired a Sludge Bomb right at the Bat Pokémon, hitting it.

"Golbat!" Lucas exclaimed as he ran and caught Golbat in his arms. "You were awesome, Golbat."

"Bat," Golbat said. Lucas took out Golbat's Pokéball.

"You should rest up," Lucas said.

"I gotta say, your Golbat is mighty impressive, so how about how about I show one of my strongest Pokémon," Reggie said, calling back his Swalot. He took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Staraptor! Go!" His Pokéball opened an his Staraptor came out.

"Staraptor, huh?" Sora asked. He took out his Rotom Phone and scanned it.

Staraptor, the Predator Pokémon

The evolved form of Staravia

Type: Normal/Flying

After the evolution process has been completed, Staraptor will leave the flock to begin to live its life alone. It has strong, sturdy muscles in its wings, allowing it to fly easily while gripping prey in its talons.

"So that's what Staravia evolves into," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu said. Lucas took out a Pokéball and threw it.

"Okay, Luxio! Go!" Lucas called out. His Pokéball opened and his Luxio came out to battle.

"So, you're using an Electric-type, huh? I like how you think, Lucas. You can make the next move," Reggie said.

"Use Thunderbolt!" Lucas ordered. Luxio fired a Thunderbolt right at the Predator Pokémon.

"Brave Bird! Quick!" Reggie ordered. Staraptor dodged Luxio's Thunderbolt and flew right at Luxio with its body giving off an orange aura.

"Brave Bird?" Dawn asked.

"Brave Bird is a powerful Flying-type attack. It deals some heavy damage on the opponent, but it causes some recoil damage on the user, too," Wes said.

"Dodge that, Luxio! Hurry!" Lucas called out. Staraptor came too fast for Luxio to dodge. The Spark Pokémon gets struck hard on the mark. "Luxio!" The Spark Pokémon struggled to stand before it let out a loud roar before evolving.

"Luxio's evolving!" Riku said. Luxio has become a Luxray. Riku took out his Rotom Phone to scan Lucas's newly evolved Pokémon.

Luxray, the Gleam Eyes Pokémon

The evolved form of Luxio

Type: Electric

It uses its eyes to track down prey or its missing young. Its eyes can even see through the thickest walls if the target tries hiding inside.

"Cool, Luxio evolved, and let's see how more powerful Luxio is right now. Spark!" Lucas ordered. Luxray charges right at Staraptor with its body emitting electricity.

"Use Wing Attack to counter!" Reggie ordered. Staraptor came at Luxray with a Wing Attack. Luxray and Staraptor collide against one another. Staratpr fell to the ground, beaten. Reggie had lost the battle.

"That's two out of three, so Lucas wins," Ash said.

"Alright!" Lucas cheered. Luxray walked over to Lucas and nuzzled him. "I didn't expect you to evolve, but you did a great job." Reggie called back his Staraptor and smiled.

"I have to hand it to you, Lucas, you're even more impressive in person than you were on TV. Well done," Reggie said.

"Thanks, Reggie. You're not a thing like Paul," Lucas said.

Meanwhile, Roxas had his Sableye, Espeon, and Heracross against Matt's Lucario. Sableye slashed against Matt's Lucario's Metal Claw as well as Heracross using its horn to combat the Aura Pokémon.

"Roxas is such a great Trainer. I can't wait to see how he'll do in a Gym battle," Lea said.

"After Lucas, you won't have to. You weren't with us during the Oreburgh and Eterna City Gyms to watch Roxas, but this is a great opportunity for that," Davis said.

"You're right, Davis. This'll be the first time I'd watch Roxas in a Gym battle," Lea said. He felt very proud of his best friend.

Back with Malmener, the woman told him everything that has happened.

"I see. So the prophecy has finally come to past. The gathering of the Guardians of Kingdom Hearts, just as Insidious has foreseen. And I was not there to see it, because I was abandoned by Insidious. Cast aside. Forgotten. I will have to begin anew. I must exact my revenge on Insidious and those loyal to him, and I will find the Guardians of Kingdom Hearts and destroy them," Malmener said.

"But my lord, you have just awaken, and you may not be fully recovered," the woman tried to warn him.

"I am a survivor. I have survived the worse by the hands of Rei Sakura, and everything Earthland has thrown at me. I will not be easily overcome with such frailties and obstacles," Malmener said. HE struggled to stand.

"I insist. You must rest to recover your strength," the woman urged. Malmener refused to listen, but he fell out of fatigue. He tries to stand on his own feet.

"Why can't I stand?!" Malmener demanded.

"I tried to tell you. You're too weak stand because you've been bed-ridden for the past seven years. You must rest in order to gain your strength. And I have arranged a doctor to be by your side until you've made a full recovery," the woman said.

"Very well. I will rest. It will give me all the time I need to exact my revenge," Malmener said as the woman helped him back in bed.

Meanwhile, Insidious felt some sort of disturbance. He didn't know what it could have been, but he felt very uneasy. Count Ernesh's butler entered the room.

"Is something the matter, Lord Insidious?" The butler asked.

"I felt some sort of disturbance, but I cannot confirm what it is, but it feels familiar to me," Insidious explained.

"Should I consult the good count on this, sir?" The butler asked.

"No. I will do it, but not yet. Not until I can determine what it is," Insidious said.

"As you wish, Your Lordship," the butler said.

Insidious wasn't sure what it could be, but he couldn't shake off the feeling he was having.

Meanwhile, in the volcanic world, Darklight is in his liquid-filled tube and he has felt the same thing as Insidious. He was just as unsure what it is as well, but he had a feeling that he knew it.

Back in Veilstone City, the group has returned to the Veilstone City Gym where Lucas was about to have his Gym battle. He had done some last minute training before he got to it.

"Okay, Lucas. Let's see what you can do," Maylene said.

"I'm more than ready to deal with whatever you got," Lucas said.

"The battle between the challenger, Lucas from Twinleaf Town and the Gym Leader, Maylene is about to begin! Each Trainer will be using three Pokémon! And the challenger is the only one who shall be permitted to substitute Pokémon! The battle shall be over once either Trainer's side is unable to continue battling!" The referee announced. Maylene took out a Pokéball and threw it.

"Meditite! Go!" Maylene called out. Her Meditite came on out to battle. Lucas grinned.

"I was hoping she'd send out Meditite first, and good thing, too!" Lucas said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Gligar! Go!" His Pokéball opened and his Gligar emerged from inside, ready to battle.

"He's sending out Gligar first?" Elaine asked.

"Vee?" Maple asked.

"I get it. Gligar's a Ground-type and a Flying-type, so it makes complete sense he would do that," Riku said.

"It does?" May asked.

"Riku's right. After watching Sora's battle yesterday, it doesn't surprise me. Meditite knows Thunder Punch, so Gligar will resist it," Wes said.

"Not only that, but Maylene can't switch Pokémon, so she has no choice but to use Meditite," Ken said.

"A well-thought-out plan," Izzy said.

"Okay, Gligar! Start things up with a Steel Wing!" Lucas ordered. Gligar flew toward Meditite with his membranes giving off a metallic glow.

"Meditite! Use Detect!" Maylene ordered. Meditite uses Detect to dodge Gligar's Steel Wing.

"Use Steel Wing again!" Lucas ordered. Gligar flew in with another Steel Wing, hitting Meditite. "Nice one!"

"After battling Sora yesterday, I thought I trained harder, but Lucas sending out a Ground-type has put a dent into my strategy. But luckily, Meditite knows some other damaging moves other than Thunder Punch," Maylene said in her thoughts. She called out loud, "Meditite! Brick Break!" Meditite lands a Brick Break on the Fly Scorpion Pokémon. "Follow up with a Zen Headbutt!" Meditite lands a Zen Headbutt on Gligar. "Keep it up! Zen Headbutt again!" Meditite lands another Zen Headbutt, landing some damage on him.

"You okay, Gligar?" Lucas asked.

"Gli," Gligar replied.

"Use Sand-Attack!" Lucas ordered. Gligar whips up some sand and sends it right at Meditite.

"I don't think so! Detect!" Maylene ordered. Meditite uses Detect to dodge Gligar's Sand-Attack. "If you plan on cutting my Meditite's accuracy like that, then you got another thing coming. Use Zen Headbutt!" Meitite came at Gligar with a Zen Headbutt.

"Why did Maylene tell Meditite to dodge Sand-Attack? It doesn't do any damage?" Dawn asked.

"No, it just cuts the accuracy of the opponent, and Maylene wasn't going to have that," Cody said.

"Cody's right. She's not going to make it easy for Lucas, and he knows it," TK said.

"Steel Wing!" Lucas ordered. Gligar flew at Meditite with a Steel Wing, landing a hit. "Now, use X-Scissor!" Gligar came at Meditite with an X-Scissor, landing some heavy onto Meditite.

"Meditite!" Maylene exclaimed. Meditite was knocked out from Gligar's attack.

"Meditite is unable to battle! Gligar wins!" The referee announced.

"Way to go, Gligar! Knew you'd get it done!" Lucas said.

"Meditite went down just like that?" Lea asked.

"Gligar!" Gligar said, doing the tongue thing.

"Yeah, and I think I know why. Gligar must have gotten so much strength in its two pincers, and judging by how fast Gligar moved them, he added some extra power in those pincers," Riku said.

"Eevee," Eevee said. Maylene calls Meditite back.

"You've battled well, Meditite. You've earned yourself a good rest," Maylene said. She took out another Pokéball and threw it. "You're up now, Machoke!" Her Pokéball and her Machoke came out to battle. Lucas called Gligar back.

"Don't want you to overdo it, Gligar," Lucas said as he took out another Pokéball. He threw it. "Okay, Golbat! You're up!" His Pokéball opened and his Golbat came out to battle.

"You should have stuck with Gligar. Use Rock Slide!" Maylene ordered. Machoke sends out a Rock Slide and sends it right at the Bat Pokémon.

"You think I forgot about that? Think again. Golbat! Dodge that and use Supersonic!" Lucas ordered. Golbat dodged the rocks and unleashed a high pitched sound wave and confuses Machoke. "Wing Attack!" Golbat flew to land a hit onto Machoke and struck the Superpower Pokémon.

"Machoke! Rock Slide again!" Maylene ordered. Machoke managed to unleash another Rock Slide and successfully despite being confused.

"Dodge that!" Lucas called out. Golbat tried to dodge, but got hit by one of the rocks.

"That scored some serious damage on Golbat," Ethan said. Machoke shook off the confusion.

"Machoke's not confused anymore," Kris said.

"And Maylene isn't the kind of Gym Leader to fall for the same trick a second time," Lyra said.

"Marill," Marill said.

"Supersonic!" Lucas ordered. Golbat sends out another Supersonic.

"Dodge that and use Rock Slide!" Maylene ordered. Machoke dodged Golbat's Supersonic and hurls another Rock Slide, landing another hit onto Golbat.

"Okay, Supersonic isn't going to do it, so use Air Slash!" Lucas ordered. Golbat unleashed an Air Slash and sent right at Machoke. The Superpower Pokémon was hit by Golbat's Air Slash and resulted in a knockout.

"Machoke is unable to battle! Golbat wins!" The referee announced.

"Two down, one to go," Sora T said.

"And we all know who she's saving for last," Matt said. Maylene called back her Machoke and smiled.

"You've fought hard, Machoke. Get some rest," Maylene said. She took out one more Pokéball. "Nicely done, Lucas. Your battling skills are impressive, but it's time to let out my last Pokémon." She threw her Pokéball. "Go! Lucario!" Her Pokéball opened and her Lucario came out to battle.

"And here's Lucario," May said.

"She saved Lucario for last like we all knew she would," Wes said.

"And Golbat isn't looking too good," Rui said.

"Golbat took some heavy damage from Machoke's Rock Slide, so Golbat won't last long out there," Kari said.

"Okay, Golbat! Use Wing Attack!" Lucas ordered. Golbat flew right at Lucario.

"Use Metal Claw!" Maylene ordered. Lucario creates metallic claws and slashed the Bat Pokémon with them. Golbat had been taken down.

"Golbat is unable to battle! Lucario wins!" The referee announced.

"And Maylene's comeback starts now," Meiko said.

"Meowth," Little Mei said.

Lucas called his Golbat back inside and he smiled.

"You did great, Golbat. Get some rest," Lucas said. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Gligar! You're going back out!" His Pokéball opened and Gligar came back out to battle.

"Gligar works because he's a Ground-type, and Steel-types are weak against Ground-types, aren't they?" Amy asked.

"Normally, yeah, but that Lucario is more experienced in battle, so I don't think Gligar would last long out there," TK said.

"TK's right. We've seen how that Lucario took down Sora 2's Staravia and Bronzor without breaking a sweat," Joe said.

"Okay, Gligar! Sand-Attack!" Lucas ordered. Gligar splashed some sand and sent it right at Lucario.

"Aura Sphere!" Maylene ordered. Lucario forms an Aura Sphere and sent it right at Gligar, cutting through Gligar's Sand-Attack and lands a hit on the Fly Scorpion Pokémon, resulting in a knockout.

"Gligar is unable to battle! Lucario wins!" The referee announced.

"You called it, TK. Lucario took down Gligar without a problem," Lea said.

"That leaves Lucas with just one more," Sora said. Lucas called back Gligar.

"Sorry, Gligar. That battle with Meditite must softened you up more than I thought. You'll have your chance next time," Lucas said. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Your turn now, Monferno!" His Pokéball opened and his Monferno came out to battle.

"He's sending out Monferno?" Yolei asked.

"I had a feeling he'd do that. Monferno is a Fire and Fighting-type, so that gives Lucas the advantage he needs," Sora said.

"That's true, but that's if you overlook Bone Rush, which is a Ground-type move," Izzy said.

"I agree. How is Lucas's Monferno going to overcome Maylene's Lucario?" Ken asked.

"Lucario! Bone Rush!" Maylene ordered. Lucario rushes at the Playful Pokémon with a Bone Rush.

"Dodge that and use Power-Up Punch!" Lucas ordered. Monferno dodged and lands a Power-Up Punch onto Lucario. Monferno's attack power goes up. "Use Mach Punch!" Monferno then dashed at Lucario and lands a Mach Punch, dealing some heavy damage due to Power-Up Punch's affect.

"That did a lot of damage!" Davis said.

"And that's thanks to Power-Up Punch!" Kanako said.

"Lucario! Use Force Palm!" Maylene ordered. Lucario held out its palm and unleashed a burst of energy from it. It hits Monferno upon contact. "Now, use Metal Claw!"

"Flame Wheel!" Lucas ordered. Monferno curls into a fiery wheel of fire and plowed into Lucario, dealing some heavy damage.

"Use Bone Rush!" Maylene ordered. Lucario came right at Monferno with a Bone Rush.

"Dodge it!" Lucas called out. Monferno ducked his head to dodge Lucario's Bone Rush. Monferno dodges Lucario's Bone Rush just with his agility.

"Look at Monferno move! Lucario's Bone Rush isn't even hitting him," Mimi said.

"Being a Fighting-type has its perks," Roxas said. Monferno then lands a Fire Punch, hitting the Aura Pokémon.

"That was Fire Punch, wasn't it?" Dawn asked.

"Monferno must have just learned to use Fire Punch," Sora said.

"Lucario! Use Aura Sphere!" Maylene ordered. Lucario fired an Aura Sphere right at Monferno.

"Use Flamethrower!" Lucas ordered. Monferno fired a Flamethrower, blocking Lucario's Aura Sphere. It results in an explosion, dealing some heavy damage for the both of them. The smoke cleared as both Fighting-types stared at each other while panting. Everyone knew it could go either way at this point. Lucario was the one who fell over, exhausted and beaten.

"Lucario is unable to battle! Monferno wins! The winner is Lucas from Twinleaf Town!" The referee announced.

"Way to go, Monferno!" Lucas said. Monferno smiled as he walked over to Lucas and hi-five him. The group all cheered for Lucas for his victory.

"Way to go, Lucas! I knew you'd do it!" Dawn cheered. Most of the group looked at her, knowing she was happy most of all. Maylene called back her Lucario and smiled.

"Thank you, Lucario. You've done well," Maylene said as she walked up to Lucas. "That was a great battle, Lucas. Like Sora, you gave it everything you've got and you deserve to win, so as proof of your victory, I give you the Cobble Badge." Maylene held out a Cobble Badge for him. Lucas accepts it.

"Alright, three down, five to go," Lucas said.

"That just leaves Roxas left," Xion said.

"Eevee," Celeste said.

"It does," Sora agreed.

"I still have some time to prepare for it, so I'm going to give it everything I got tomorrow," Roxas said.

"I don't doubt it, Roxas. I want to see what you would do," Maylene said.

"You won't be disappointed," Roxas said.

Now only Roxas is left to have a Gym battle against Maylene, so how will he managed to earn his Gym battle against her. Also, who is Malmener, and how is he connected to Rei in some way, and how did he end up like this? The answers shall come as we continue on.

As I'm closing, I thought I should inform you that is a foreshadow of Rei Sakura's story involving Fairy Tail as well as Sora, Kairi, and their friends meeting with Fairy Tail. And they'll be separate fics as a reminder. And as for Malmener, I pretty much based him off of Darth Maul, and the word malmener is the French word for maul. That's all I wanted to say.
