Mobius, a somewhat peaceful planet populated with humans and humanoid creatures called Mobians. Home to an evil particular villain named Dr Ivo 'Eggman' Robotnik. A man with one goal. To conquer Mobius and all it's inhabitants, and annihilate the hero and constant pain in his butt, Sonic the Hedgehog. This story however isn't about that blue blur. This story is one about family, brotherhood and sisterhood.
In an abandoned oasis, Eggman's menacing fortress stood tall.
Boom!
Well...stood tall for one paragraph..
Within the dimly lit corridors, footsteps echoed ominously as a figure navigated the labyrinthine maze of hallways. The figures eyes glowing a bright orange. He moved with an eerie grace, his powers causing objects to float and tremble in his wake.
Metal footsteps could be heard from the approaching eggman robots with orange and yellow coloured cannons equipped and some with big lances.
The figure looks at the robots and raises his hand towards them. The metal floating around him begins to tear and crunch up into metal needles. He fires at the robots causing some of the assaulting robots to blow up or just fall to the ground. A single lance robot charges at the mysterious figure only to find itself stop a metre away from him. The lance begins to crunch up and thin as the robot finds itself get crunched into a ball. The now balled up robot floats into the figures hands as he continues on.
In the central control room, Eggman's voice boomed through the loudspeakers. "Who dares enter my fortress uninvited?" he bellowed. "Show yourself!"
Eggman waits for a response. However he soon regrets inquiring about the trespasser as a voice, distorted and demonic responded.
"...I am Grav, and I seek the power that lies within."
Eggman sees all the camera's flash an orange eye before becoming static all at once causing the moustached villain to jump back in his chair and nearly fall out of it.
Eggman quickly sits up with his teeth clenched and his brows farrowed in anger. "Prep the SB!" He ordered on the microphone located on the right arm of his chair.
As Grav continued his relentless path of destruction, tearing through Eggman's base with his powers, the air filled with the clanging of torn-up robots and the crackling of loose wires.
Finally, Grav reached his goal. A door in which he stops at and looks up at. He eyes it suspiciously before taking out the metal ball made up of what used to be eggman's lance robot. He tosses it at the door to see a laser cut through it immediately. He smirks and puts his arms out wide and starts to bring his hands together, with a lot of effort as he was actually crushing the door that lead a chamber where the purple chaos emerald was hidden.
His eyes gleamed with anticipation as he floated towards it while slowly extending his hand towards it, ready to claim it. But as his fingers closed around the emerald, a sudden realization struck him as his fingers passed straight through the emerald - it was just a hologram.
Blinded by anger, he attempts to grab it multiple times before it disappears causing him to growl and slam his fist into the stand in which the holographic emerald once stood.
Before he could react, the room transformed, revealing itself to be a trap. The walls closed in, encasing Grav in a tight, metallic grip. Panic surged through his veins as he struggled to break free, but his efforts proved futile.
Suddenly, a booming laughter echoed through the chamber, and Eggman emerged from the shadows, seated within a colossal, menacing invention. Its sleek, metal frame shimmered with an light blue energy.
"So, 'Grav', you thought you could waltz into my base and snatch the emerald right under my nose?" Eggman's voice dripped with arrogance as he observed Grav's predicament. "Preposterous! I'm always one step ahead! Ohhohohohoho!!"Eggman finished by letting out his signature laugh.
Grav's eyes narrowed. He smiled and began to laugh.
As Eggman's laughter subsided, Grav's laughter grew louder, filling the chamber. The metallic grip that held him started to crack and creak under the strain of his power.
"You think you've trapped me? You underestimate the true extent of my abilities," Grav's voice reverberated with an otherworldly resonance. With a surge of energy, he broke free from the metallic grip, the walls crumbling around him.
Eggman's eyes widened in disbelief, his smirk faltering. "Impossible! How did you...?"
Grav floated effortlessly towards Eggman, his eyes burning with an intense orange glow. "Your little trap was child's play. Plus...I've been trapped in worse!" he declared, his voice dripping with confidence.
As Grav approached, Eggman's colossal invention, the SageShield Mech, powered up with a low hum. Energy crackled around it, creating an impenetrable forcefield.
"Now, meet my latest creation, the SageShield Mech," Eggman boasted, his voice brimming with pride. "With its impenetrable forcefield and devastating firepower, not even that pest Sonic would be able to stand a chance!"
Grav's laughter echoed through the chamber once more, sending shivers down Eggman's spine. "Your forcefield may be strong, Eggman, but I am not one to be underestimated," Grav retorted, his eyes flickering with determination.
With a wave of his hand, Grav's hand glows with a purple aura, causing the very fabric of reality to warp and twist around him. The SageShield Mech's forcefield crackled as it struggled to contain the raw power radiating from Grav.
As the forcefield weakened, Grav propelled himself forward, his energy-filled fists colliding with the SageShield Mech. The impact caused a shockwave, shattering the forcefield and sending the colossal invention crashing to the ground.
Eggman watched in horror as his creation lay in ruins before him. Fear crept into his eyes as he realized the magnitude of the situation.
"You may have underestimated me, Eggman, but now you will learn the true meaning of defeat," Grav declared, his voice laced with a chilling determination as he pulls his fist back. This caused the metal in the room to surround Grav and turn into spikes. The mysterious Grav smiles wickedly and throws his fist forward. The spikes descend towards Eggman causing the genius to look away and use his hand in an fruitless attempt to shield himself.
As the spikes got closer. They eventually shattered upon impact made to another light blue shield. Eggman breaths out heavily before looking to see his saviour descend in front of him. A small girl with white hair, blue eyes and a white dress and white shoes. His daughter, Sage.
Sage stood in front of Eggman, shielding him from Grav's wrath. Her determination remained unwavering, even as Grav's anger intensified.
"Sage! Get away from him!" Eggman ordered with a hint of worry in his tone.
Sage shook her head defiantly "No, Father. Not until you get to safety first." She states. Suddenly, with a burst of strength, Grav broke through Sage's defense and grabbed her by the neck, his grip tightening.
Eggman's eyes widened in horror as he saw his daughter in danger. He struggled to stand up and with a little bit of determination, he grabbed Grav's right leg and held on.
"Let her go you monster!" Grav looks down at the villian, easily kicking him off and looking back into Sage's eyes. But before he could finish off Sage, a familiar metallic figure appeared - Metal Sonic.
Metal Sonic swiftly intervened, his robotic arm knocking Grav away from Sage. The villain stumbled backward, momentarily stunned by the unexpected intervention. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Metal Sonic swiftly moved and rapidly swung punches at Grav who tries his best to dodge and block every attack.
Sage, gasping for breath and clutching her throat, looked up at the battle between Metal Sonic and Grav."Thank you big brother..." She whispers, her voice still feeling weak from being choked.
With Eggman finally standing up, he rushed to his daughter's side, concern etched on his face. He cradled Sage gently, his worry transforming into relief as he felt her pulse steady beneath his touch.
"Good work, Metal," Eggman said, his voice filled with a mix of gratitude and newfound respect. "Finish him off then retreat back to beta base!"
Metal Sonic nodded, his glowing red eyes gleaming with a hint of understanding.
Metal Sonic continued to engage Grav in a fierce battle as Eggman entered his egg bouncer and took off with Sage following after him. Meanwhile, Metal sonic's movements were calculated and precise. Grav, realizing he was outmatched, grew desperate and launched one final, reckless attack. Grav lets out a demonic scream as the fortress began to cave in on itself.
Metal Sonic looks around before looking at Grav and charging at him again. However before the robotic clone of sonic could reach him. The fortress explodes causing Sage and Eggman to stop and look before being blown back by the shockwave of the blast. Sage regains her balance and looks at the mushroom cloud forming from the explosion.
"No...!" She floats back towards the base however Eggman quickly speeds in front of her and blocks her path "We have to help metal, Father!"
Eggman looks down and sighs "I'm sorry my daughter. He's gone." Eggman looks at the mushroom cloud before slamming his fist on the side of his floating vehicle "We won't let his sacrifice be in vain. We need to prepare for a second attack," A small compartment opens up next to Eggman revealing the purple chaos emerald "Especially if he'll come back for this."
Eggman floats around Sage and gestures for her to follow. Sage stares at the mushroom cloud in sorrow for her fellow creation and holds both her hands together right in front of her heart. She then closes her eyes and follows Eggman.
Meanwhile, Grav emerges from the mushroom cloud. The smoke surrounding him, bouncing off an invisible barrier that surrounded his body as his orange eyes look out towards the horizon
The image of Grav zooms out before revealing that what was just described was on video in front of three well known heroes. Sonic, Tails and Amy.
"As you can see. Not even Metal Sonic could stand up against this new enemy." Sage pointed out while standing in front of the video.
"You're sure egghead wouldn't be ticked about you showing us this?" Sonic enquired.
Sage looks down "My father...has his moments where pride overpowers his vision of a logic. And the best probability for survival...that's why it's not him who is asking you to help us. Sonic the hedgehog.
Sonic sits on Tails' work bench and thinks "Hmm...If this guy is after the emeralds. Then there's a chance he'll go after the biggest one we know of."
Sage looks at Sonic "You mean...the master emerald?" She asks.
Sonic nods. "Exactly. If this Grav is strong enough to lay waste to one of Eggy's bases and overpower Metal Sonic. He'll definitely have no trouble targeting the Master Emerald. We can't let him get his hands on it."
Tails chimes in. "Ever since the Starfall islands, I've been working on a new device that can trap the Chaos Emeralds just like the vaults. If we use it and throw away the key, preferably somewhere we will find it again. Then whatever this Grav guy wants with them will be a no go." Tails places the device on his workbench then places his thumb and index finger on his chin. "I just need to find a way to harness the same energy that was used in order to make a key..."
At this point, Sage floats next to him "I believe I can assist with that." She says as pixels flow out of her hands.
Sonic chuckles "You sure Egg-head won't be mad if you're helping us out?" He asks.
Sage narrows her eyes but nods with a confident look plastered on her face "He'll just have to, how do you say...? Deal with it?" She questions.
Sonic almost bursts out laughing as he walks to the door "Careful! Talk like that in front of him then he'll DEFINITELY know you've been visiting us."
Amy crosses her arms, determination in her eyes. "Then let's get to it! We can't waste any time."
Sonic taps the point of his shoes on the ground "Alright! An Emerald treasure hunt it is. Sage, Tails. Have that device up and kept warm for its jewellery tenants." He says.
Sage smiles "When you have all six plus the Master Emerald. Please come to father for the seventh." She says as her voice echoes in the shop.
Sonic nods and before he runs out of the workshop, Tails calls out to him "Sonic!" Sonic stops himself and looks at his twin tailed friend who tosses him a watch. "To help find the emeralds!" He says. Sonic smiles "Thanks bud!" He shouts at Tails begorr taking off. As he speeds through the grassy plains. He starts to think up ideas. Metal sonic may be a cheap copy of him but he has proven to be the worthy adversary in most cases. "I think outside help would be much appreciated for this occasion," He travels at lightning speed past the hills with a bright smile on his face "Better go see the experts!" He says before heading towards Sunset City.
