Unbelievable

Bang.

"Ouch!"

"Be quite, or you'll wake someone up!"

Too late, thought Zachery as he slowly opened his eyes. Even if the loud noise or the sound of the girl yelling had not woken him up, which it did, the boy telling her to be quiet would have done it.

Zachery looked at the clock on his wall and noticed it was almost midnight. His imagination began to run wild with all the possibilities of what could be going on at this hour. When the noise got louder, Zachery couldn't stop himself from getting out of bed to see what was really happening. What he saw was something even he never imagined.

Lee Sayoran stood in the traditional green robes of his powerful Chinese clan, holding his long sword out in front of him to ward off the Clow Card floating not far away. Lightning shot out from Lee's sword as he defended himself from the unsealed card.

"Hang on, Lee!" Sakura shouted from her place under Zachery's window. Her frilly pink dress with the matching bow in the back didn't slow her down as she raced toward Lee at the same time she raised her wand, commanding, "Shield, protect Lee! Release and dispel, Shield!"

"What good is that going to do?" Lee shouted, still holding his sword out before himself in a defensive position despite the fact that the Clow Card could no longer get to him.

"Gee, you're welcome," Sakura called as she reached behind her back and pulled out another of the Clow Cards in her possession. "Just watch and see."

As she arced her wand down to touch the card suspended in front of her, the young Cardcaptor shouted, "Wood, trap the card in your branches. Release and dispel, Wood!"

Immediately a tangle of branches erupted from the Wood Card, growing toward the wild Clow Card now turning to attack Sakura. Before the escaped card could reach her, the Wood Card had it trapped in its strong branches. Seconds later, the Card was sealed, and Sakura was writing her name on it to make it official that the Clow Card was hers.

"You did it, Sakura," Kero shouted from his place under Zachery's window just as Madison walked out to congratulate Sakura herself.

The two friends and Lee spoke briefly before heading back home, never having noticed that their classmate Zachery had seen just about the whole adventure from his bedroom window.

Zachery had been waiting all morning to tell everyone about what he had seen last night. He would have done it sooner, but he had been so tired because of his late night that he woke up late and just barely made it to school before the bell. But, now it was lunch-time, and he had plenty of time.

"I have some really exciting news," Zachery announced loudly so that everyone turned their attention to him. "Last night, I discovered that our own Sakura and Lee can do magic."

Silence reigned for a few moments, and then everyone began talking at once.

"Really, magic?"

"No way!"

"C'mon. Get real, Zachery."

Zachery waved his arms for a few moments until it quieted down enough that he could be heard again. "It's true," he said matter-of-factly. "I saw Lee make lightning with a sword, and Sakura can make a tree out of thin air." And, before another round of shouting could begin, he added, "Just ask them."

Every eye turned to Lee and Sakura. Lee just folded his arms and stared straight ahead. Sakura just stuttered incomprehensibly and waved her hands in front of herself.

"That's enough!" Chelsea nearly shouted as she marched toward Zachery. "Haven't you embarrassed Sakura and Lee enough with your stories?"

"But…but it's true," Zachery insisted as Chelsea grabbed him by the ear. "Madison has it all on tape."

Chelsea let go of him to look at Madison, who sat next to Sakura looking quite innocent. Then she turned back to Zachery, once again grabbed his ear, and dragged him out of the room as she said, "For goodness sake, if Madison DID have something like that on tape, don't you think she would have shown it to everyone by now? You know how much she likes showing off her Sakura collection. Honestly!"

While everyone else had turned their attention back to lunch, Sakura and Lee had turned their attention to Madison. Lee looked both angry and curious at the same time, while Sakura just looked shocked and embarrassed. Madison, however, just continued to smile that innocent smile and said, "Well, I'm glad that's settled."

Seconds later, the students were distracted from lunch again, this time by the sound of Lee's and Sakura's chairs hitting the ground.

The End
