Ash Ketchum sat proudly on his throne, basking in the glory of his newfound title—Monarch of the Pokémon World. After years of battling, adventuring, and just generally being too determined for his own good, Ash had finally achieved the unthinkable. He was the Monarch.
He had expected a lot of things to change after his coronation: more responsibilities, more battles, maybe even more Pokémon to catch. What he did not expect was the appearance of Arceus, the Creator of Pokémon, with a gleaming grin and a very peculiar… package.
"Uh… Arceus? What are you doing here?" Ash asked, his hand still gripping the royal scepter that had somehow found its way into his possession.
"Ah, Ash Ketchum, the newly crowned Monarch! I bring you gifts... and a few surprises," Arceus said, floating down from the sky with the elegance of a thousand suns—if a thousand suns were very bored and had a weird sense of humor.
"Uh, okay. What kind of gifts?" Ash asked, a bit skeptical. This wasn't exactly the kind of surprise he'd expected.
With a dramatic flourish, Arceus conjured a pile of random objects, all of which floated in front of Ash, much like a bizarre magic show gone wrong.
"First, I bestow upon you... the power of Aura!" Arceus announced, and a bright aura shimmered around Ash. "This will help you understand the hearts of your Pokémon even more than you already do!"
Ash blinked. "I mean, okay, that sounds cool, but... why?"
"Because I'm bored," Arceus replied with a shrug.
Ash stared at him, sweat visibly dripping down his face. "What?"
Arceus continued, seemingly enjoying himself. "Next, telekinesis! Now you can move objects with your mind! No more lifting heavy stuff ever again. No more asking Pikachu to grab things off high shelves!"
A small rock floated into the air beside Ash, spinning slowly. Ash stared at it, then waved his hand, sending the rock flying into the wall.
"Uh... I guess that works," Ash mumbled, still processing the overwhelming array of powers.
"But that's not all!" Arceus shouted with wild enthusiasm. "You're also immortal now! You can never die! You will live forever and ever! No more aging, no more sickness, no more stopping your adventures."
Ash blinked. "Wait, wait, hold on—"
"And lastly," Arceus interrupted, pulling out an item wrapped in cosmic energy, "the Tesseract! A cube that allows you to travel between any anime world you want! You can visit different worlds, meet other characters, have endless adventures!"
The cube—about the size of a large sugar cube—hovered in front of Ash. He stared at it, his mind racing. "Uh… okay, that's... a lot, but I really need you to explain why you're giving me all of this. I mean, I'm already a Monarch, I don't need—"
"I'm bored," Arceus replied again, completely deadpan.
Ash sweatdropped. "Bored? You're the Creator of Pokémon! How are you bored?"
Arceus paused for a moment, his gaze looking uncomfortably distant, almost melancholic. "Well, when you've been around for millions of years, things get repetitive. You know, universe-building, maintaining balance... It's exhausting. A change of pace was in order. So I thought, why not make you ridiculously overpowered?"
Ash sighed, his face in his hands. "So, what? I get all this stuff because you're bored?"
Arceus nodded enthusiastically. "Precisely!"
"Great," Ash muttered, trying to comprehend his new, way too powerful existence. "What exactly do you want me to do with all of this?"
"Whatever you want!" Arceus cheered. "Now, try it on!"
Without further explanation, Arceus waved his hoof, and in the blink of an eye, Ash was draped in a tattered cloak that looked like it had been through several apocalyptic battles. He also found himself wearing an oddly shaped mask—a white, anti-magic mask that covered his face entirely.
"Uh… Arceus? I can't breathe in this thing!" Ash panicked as his lungs screamed for air. He immediately yanked the mask off, but then Arceus pressed the mask back onto his face with a mischievous grin.
"It's part of the fun!" Arceus laughed. "You're invincible now, so what's the worst that could happen?"
Ash's eyes widened as he realized there were no eye holes in the mask, no air holes either. He couldn't see, he couldn't breathe, and honestly, he wasn't sure if he could even think straight with this ridiculous thing on his face.
"Arceus! Seriously! Take it off!" Ash gasped, his voice muffled from the lack of air.
Arceus simply chuckled and tapped the mask with a hoof. "You'll get used to it. Besides, it's not like you need to breathe or see when you can literally move things with your mind. You're practically godlike now!"
Ash's face was contorted in panic as he flailed his arms, accidentally knocking over a nearby vase using his new telekinetic powers. It crashed to the ground, shattering into pieces.
"Okay, fine, I get it," Ash wheezed, his voice muffled by the mask. "But if I can't breathe or see with this thing on, how am I supposed to do anything?"
"That's the beauty of it, Ash!" Arceus said, barely holding back laughter. "You don't need to. You're overpowered enough that you'll figure it out!"
Ash blinked, realizing Arceus was probably having the time of his life at his expense. "Okay, okay, so can Pikachu come with me on these... adventures?"
"Nope," Arceus said quickly, shaking his head. "Why would you need Pokémon when you have the power of a god? You're practically a one-man army."
Ash's jaw dropped. "You're seriously telling me I can't bring Pikachu?! After everything we've been through?!"
"Nope!" Arceus repeated, throwing his hands up dramatically. "You've got this all on your own now. Go have fun! You're the Monarch, remember?"
Ash stood there, frozen, for a moment. "I... I can't believe this. I'm too OP for my own good. And now I'm going on anime adventures? What is my life even?"
"Exactly!" Arceus said, practically glowing with delight. "Now go! Have fun! And remember, I gave you this gift... or curse... depending on how you look at it."
Ash, now fully equipped with his ridiculous new abilities, sighed, muttering, "I'm going to need a vacation from this."
But before he could even try to catch his breath, the Tesseract in his hand began to glow.
The adventure had just begun.
