Title: Moonlit Comfort

The silver glow of the full moon bathed the darkened forest, casting eerie shadows between the towering trees. The night air was cool, filled with the distant howls of creatures that lurked in the wilderness. Amidst the quiet rustling of the leaves, Wereroach Joey's sharp ears twitched at a sound that made his heart clench.

Soft sobs.

He followed the sound through the thick underbrush, his claws digging into the damp earth as he moved on all fours. His purple fur bristled slightly as concern overtook him. When he reached a small clearing, he saw her.

Wolffi.

The female grey cockroach-wolf hybrid sat curled up beside a large rock, her body trembling. Moonlight glowed softly against her fur, but her usual fiery spirit was absent. Joey took slow, careful steps forward, not wanting to startle her.

"Wolffi?" he called gently, his deep voice laced with concern.

She stiffened at first, then turned her tear-streaked face toward him. "Joey…" she whispered, her voice quivering.

Without hesitation, Joey padded closer and sat beside her, his tail curling protectively around them both. "What's wrong?" he asked, his glowing eyes filled with worry.

She sniffled, wiping her eyes with a clawed hand. "It's… everything. Scar and his pack are getting more aggressive. They attacked a neighboring den last night. I'm scared, Joey. I don't want to lose anyone… I don't want to lose you."

Joey's ears flattened slightly at the mention of Scar, his rival and mortal enemy. But right now, his priority was Wolffi. He gently nudged her with his snout, offering warmth and reassurance. "You won't lose me," he murmured. "I promise. We're strong together."

Wolffi let out a shaky sigh and rested her head against his broad shoulder. "You always know what to say," she admitted, a small smile ghosting her lips.

Joey grinned, his sharp teeth glinting. "Of course. It's one of my many talents—along with running on all fours and howling at the moon like a true Wereroach."

That earned a soft chuckle from Wolffi. "You're ridiculous."

"And you love it," he teased, playfully bumping his head against hers.

She rolled her eyes but nestled closer, comforted by his warmth and steady presence. The forest around them seemed less daunting now, the threats of Scar and his pack momentarily forgotten in the safety of Joey's embrace.

As the wind whispered through the trees, Joey lifted his head toward the sky and let out a long, deep howl. A moment later, Wolffi joined him, their voices intertwining beneath the moon's radiant glow.

Whatever came next, they would face it together.
