After meeting Mistgun, Sonic and he traveled in search of a guild, but along the way, they discovered an abandoned village.

Sonic's POV

Weeks had passed since I met Mistgun. He was a mage who was a bit taller and older than me. One day, we came across a village that had been destroyed. Upon arriving, we began inspecting the surroundings.

"Mist, do you think there are still people here?" I asked him while looking around.

"I think this is an abandoned village," he replied.

We ventured further into the village and found a larger house, which we assumed belonged to the village chief. At the entrance, a shadow appeared.

"Oh, I wasn't expecting visitors," the shadow said.

Mistgun and I remained on guard in case it was a potential threat.

"Oh, don't be afraid. I mean you no harm," it said, and we discovered it was an old man speaking to us.

"Who are you?" Mistgun asked.

"My name is Roubaul. I am the chief of this village," he replied.

"Are you talking about this ruined village?" I said.

"What happened here?" Mistgun asked the old man.

He explained to us what had happened. After some thought, Mistgun and I decided to stay for a while and help rebuild the village. Three weeks later, Mistgun wanted to go to a nearby village to gather supplies. I wanted to accompany him, but he insisted I stay to watch over the village.

It had been three days since he left, and I was beginning to worry. I was about to go search for him when I saw him returning in the distance. I ran to him and noticed he wasn't alone.

"Where were you? Gathering materials and food shouldn't take that long," I said as I stopped near him.

"Sorry, but you knew it would be tough to get back with all the heavy rain. But I didn't come back empty-handed," he said, pushing forward a little girl who was smaller than me.

Looking at her, I could tell I was a year older than her. I stared at her with a questioning look, which made her hide behind Mist as if she were scared.

"Come on, Wendy, don't be shy," Mist said to the little girl.

"Wendy?" I said, surprised.

"Um... my name is Wendy Marvell. It's a pleasure to meet you," she said, bowing, and I noticed her face was all red.

"This is Wendy. She was lost too," Mistgun said to me.

Later, we gathered in the village chief's hall, where Mistgun explained what had happened.

"I was heading toward the forest when I heard sobbing. As I got closer, I found Wendy crying because she had lost someone. She told me it was Grandine, the sky dragon," Mistgun explained.

"A SKY DRAGON?!" I exclaimed, realizing that dragons exist. "Dragons are real?"

Mistgun: "Yes. There was a time when dragons and humans lived in harmony, but recently, dragons have started to disappear."

Sonic: "I wonder what a dragon tastes like. Wait, are you saying Wendy had a relationship with one of those dragons?" I asked, looking at Wendy, who lowered her head. She still seemed sad about what had happened.

"Ever since I was little, I was raised by Grandine. She even taught me magic, but one day, she disappeared without a trace," she said, starting to cry.

When she began to cry, I grabbed a pack of tissues I had collected and wiped her tears before they could even fall, thanks to my speed.

"No, no, no, you shouldn't stain your pretty face with tears. I'm sure your dragon isn't too far. She'll come back soon," I said.

"It's already been a week since she left, and I miss her so much," she said, blowing her nose.

"That's really sad for you, Wendy. Master Roubaul, do you think she could stay with us?" Mist asked.

"Of course. She is welcome here. She can stay as long as she likes," the old man replied with a smile.

"Did you hear that, Wendy? You're not alone anymore," I said, giving her a hug.

"O-okay," she whispered, smiling for the first time.

I could never have imagined seeing a smile more beautiful than mine.
