Prologue
Screams filled the air around her as she stood there watching the scenery before her. Her eyes were blurred with tears, her once beautiful make up was now ruined and her long green dress was torn apart.
All the beautiful trees from the forest- she used to spend her time in- were now burnt to the ground.
"Emma…"
This voice…It can be…
"Stefan…? You're here…" she said hesitantly.
"You can't stop this..." he told her, she could feel that he was scared. "Come with me now. I'm not letting you sacrifice yourself."
The woman shook her head. "But it's my fault...You don't understand, it's too late to back down now. I'm really sorry, I need to do it."
The ground beneath them started shaking, and seemed to be opening. A few seconds later, they both heard a shrieking cry.
Stefan grabbed her face, ignoring the burn that ran through his hands. "I'm the one who's going to be selfish now. I won't let you die."
And in a swift movement, he broke her neck. The woman's body started to fall forward and he managed to grab her before she touched the ground.
"She's going to hate you for this." A voice said behind him.
The vampire turned around, carrying Emma in his arms, to face Kol.
"I'd rather want her alive and hating me than her dead and gone."
The Original Vampire nodded his head before glancing behind Stefan. "We need to get out of here now, or we're all going to die here."
They used their vampire speed to leave the forest, but not without seeing the black figure that was emerging from the ground.

This fanfiction is a Stefan/Emma (OC) with bits of Stefan/Emma/Kol. It takes place after season 3 and before season 4. It's an AU.
There will also be some Klaroline and Kennett.
This story is a rewrite of a previous fanfiction I wrote in French, ten years ago.
There will be many OCs in this story like the main character and the main villain.
