Jealousy Looks Good on You
The bedroom was warm, the dim glow of the bedside lamp casting soft tint across the room. The heat between them hadn't fully faded, but now, instead of the tension from earlier, there was a comfort.
Misty lay on her stomach, her arm draped lazily over Ash's bare chest, fingers tracing absent patterns on his skin. Ash was propped up against the pillows, one hand resting behind his head, his other playing with the ends of her hair.
They were spent very much. Satisfied.
But the argument from earlier still lingered in the air, not as anger, but as something to poke fun at.
Misty smirked against his skin. "So, do you always act like a jealous idiot when I talk to people? Or was tonight special?"
Ash shot her a dry look. "Depends. Do you always ignore your fiancé at events and laugh at some guy's jokes for two hours straight?"
Misty grinned. "Oh, please. I did not laugh for two hours straight."
Ash scoffed. "Felt like it."
She lifted her head, raising an eyebrow. "Don't tell me you were keeping track of my laughter, babe. That's kind of embarrassing."
Ash gave her a look. "Misty. I was sitting there, waiting for you to notice me, while you were giggling at this guy's every word."
Misty let out a breathy laugh. "I was not giggling."
"You were totally giggling."
She rolled her eyes, flopping onto her back. "I was just catching up with an old friend."
Ash turned his head to look at her, smirking. "Yeah? And did your old friend know you were engaged, or were you just conveniently hiding the ring under your drink all night?"
Misty gasped, shoving at his chest. "Ash!"
Ash laughed, catching her hand and lacing their fingers together.
Misty sighed, shaking her head. "You're ridiculous."
Ash squeezed her hand, his voice dropping to something softer. "Yeah, well… I just didn't like feeling like I wasn't yours tonight."
Misty's heart clenched a little. She shifted closer, resting her chin on his chest. "Ash, you are mine. Always."
Ash's fingers brushed against her cheek. "…Yeah?"
She smirked. "Yeah. Even when you're acting like a broody, possessive idiot."
Ash rolled his eyes. "Gee, thanks."
Misty grinned before letting out a thoughtful hum. "Though… I gotta admit."
Ash raised an eyebrow. "What?"
Misty sighed dramatically. "You looked extremely hot tonight."
Ash blinked, caught off guard. "…Wait, what?"
Misty exhaled, tilting her head. "I hate that it's true, but yeah." She gave him a mock glare. "It was annoying."
Ash's lips curved. "So, you're telling me you ignored me all night, I got mad, and that turned you on?"
Misty groaned, covering her face with her hands. "Forget I said anything."
Ash laughed, prying her hands away. "Oh, hell no. I love this."
Misty huffed, flopping back onto the pillows. "I hate you so much."
Ash smirked, rolling over to hover above her. "Yeah?" His voice dropped as he leaned in. "Then why'd you moan my name like that?"
Misty froze.
Her eyes widened for half a second before she smacked his arm. "Ash!"
Ash chuckled, completely unbothered.
Misty turned her head, face burning. "…You suck."
Ash hummed, voice dropping into something devious. "No." His fingers dragged down her bare thigh. "You do."
Misty blinked.
Paused.
Processed.
Then her entire face went red.
"Ash—" she started, sitting up.
He just grinned, watching the exact moment she caught on.
Misty grabbed a pillow and whacked him in the face. "You perv!"
Ash laughed, easily dodging her next swing. "What? I'm just stating facts."
Misty groaned, turning her face into the pillow. "I hate you."
Ash smirked, pressing his lips against her ear. "You love me."
Misty grumbled, still hiding her face. "Unfortunately."
Ash huffed a laugh, pulling the pillow away and capturing her lips in a slow, teasing kiss.
Yeah, she definitely wasn't getting any sleep tonight.
