The problem with Mighty Morphin was that I'd have to explain the gods not knowing about Zordon or Rita despite them being on earth, if dormant for ten thousand years. That's a can of worms I didn't want to touch. Zeo would likely turn into the original but with demigods. Plus I've never even watched Zeo. Turbo? Yeah not turbo. Somebody could maybe make that work. But it's not going to be me anytime soon. Which leaves In space.

Don't mind me I'm just going stand behind this absurdly thick bulletproof glass.

In Space suffers from the same problem as Dino Thunder. It connects back to previous seasons too much. Leading to a can of worms I'd have to explain.

Searching the Past Part One

Magna Defender POV

I stood silently looking at the distant lights coming from the human's city of Terra Venture, that faintly pierced the darkness of the night.

"Zika." I murmured my son's name looking up at the stars. "I'll never forgive Scorpius for what he did to you Zika, or our planet."

My home was crumbling around me. Explosions sounded near and far. Scorpius' lastest attack had come without warning and had taken us by surprise.

Rushing through the ruined streets I heard someone shout up ahead. "Grab the jewels!"

Pushing my way past some fallen debris I pointed my weapon at the barbarians looting and pillaging my home.

"Drop the jewels!" I shouted cocking my blaster. "You won't need them where you're going."

"Hey, look who survived." one of the ruffians said laughing.

"Its the Magna Defender." Another cackled.

"And he thinks he can fight all of us, a-huh!" Said another resting his blaster on his shoulder.

"It is you who won't survive." I growled.

"You must have a death wish." Said one in a nasally voice.

"Torozord!" I called out not responding to the group's taunts.

Immediately the savages grew quiet. As I heard the distinctive heavy foot falls of my most trusted ally as he approached.

Standing above me the Torozord let out an angry snort at the craven curs, who backed away nervously.

"I've been expecting you, Magna Defender." A familiar voice spoke.

The ground began to bulge and crack as something burst through to the surface.

"Scorpius!" I growled upon seeing him in all his slimy glory.

"I have something you may be interested in." He said with an eerie calm motioning with one of his tentacles to something behind him.

Stepping out of a darkened alleyway was a sight that caused me to freeze in abject terror.

"Let go of me! Father help me!" My son Zika cried.

"Drop your weapon or your son dies." Said the fiend holding his blade to Zika's throat.

"Let him go." I heard myself begging.

"Drop your weapon! Do it now or your son will pay the price." The brute holding my son demanded.

I threw my blade down on the ground without a word.

"Now call off Torozord." Commanded Scorpius. "Do it or Fishface will slit your son's throat."

"Torozord, retreat." I ordered my partner snorting and reluctantly backing away.

With nothing to stop them, the fiends rushed towards me and I offered no resistance as they pummeled me.

"You leave my father alone, you big ugly meany!" Zika yelled struggling in Fishface's grasp.

"Zika!" I yelled as I was shocked by an energy blast from Scorpius.

"No!" My son cried as I collapsed to the ground.

"You won't stop me." I heard Scorpius say. "I'll rule this galaxy.

"Scorpius, leave Zika alone." I begged.

"Release the boy." Said Scorpius.

"Father!" Zika cried as Fishface struck him.

"Get lost." The brute ordered him.

"Don't worry father! I'll save you!" Zika said grabbing a knife from the ground and pointing it at Scorpius.

The entire gathering of ruffians along with Scorpius all laughed.

"Zika don't!" I yelled.

"Yah!" My son yelled charging forward.

A bolt of energy from Scorpius struck Zika in his chest dead on. His knife clattered to the ground and he collapsed with an anguished scream.

"Zika!" I cried beginning to pull myself forward crawling towards my son.

"Zika, please!" I begged. "Get up!" Wishing desperately to hear my son's voice. But all I heard was the cruel laughter of monsters.

Pulling myself out of my memories I looked at Zika's knife in my hand and swore.

"Scorpius, I will have my revenge."

Percy POV

Scorpion Stinger

I was in the middle of a workout. Though I should probably explain what that meant on the Scorpion Stinger.

Almost two dozen piles of rock and clay were scattered across the floor. A few minutes ago they'd been Putties. Before I'd literally beaten them into their current state with my bare hands.

According to Scorpius anything less would just lead to regression. Believe it or not this was actually a light workout by that taskmaster's standards.

Though it was oddly therapeutic. The Putties reminded me too much of Gaea's earthborn.

"I thought I'd find you here." I heard a familiar voice say.

Turning I saw Trakeena standing in the doorway.

"My father is is calling for you." She said.

Letting out a sigh I started to follow her when I heard a sound behind me like an angry turkey gobbling.

Not even bothering to look I swung my arm and closed fist out and felt the satisfying splatter of clay.

"Missed one." I said flatly upon seeing the questioning look on Trakeena's face. Grabbing the leather jacket I followed my girlfriend.

Entering Scorpius' chamber I reluctantly knelt in front of old tentacle face.

"As you know boy." Scorpius began. "With Furio's recent demise, I require a new general. I want to hear your thoughts on who it should be.

This was… unexpected to say the least. I'd figured this would be about finding that thing.

Out of the corner of my eye I looked at Trakeena. Her face was blank not revealing a thing. Which likely meant she was just as surprised as I was at the question.

This was undoubtedly a test of some sort, and as usual I hadn't studied.

I definitely didn't want the job. So I racked my brain trying to figure out what creep aboard this ship would satisfy Scorpius.

There were several problems. The first was that I only ever managed to remember the names of a handful of the more memorable freaks. The second was that even I knew that before Furio the job had a massive turnover rate.

Finally a name came to mind. He was one of the very few sane and reasonable people on the Scorpion Stinger.

"Treacheron." I answered, a grunt from Scorpius being my only signal to explain. "Treacheron is a loyal and experienced warrior who has served you for millennia. His cunning and experience makes him the most qualified."

"Yes, Treacheron is a perfect choice." Scorpius murmured. "And he has experience with the Magna Defender.

Evidently I'd managed to pass whatever kind of test this was because a moment later he waved one of his tentacles dismissively and said. "You can go now."

Not needing to be told twice I stood up and hurried out of Scorpius' chamber.

Leo POV

L & C's Garage

When I came into the garage early in the morning the last thing I expected to see was Kendrix Sitting at one of the tables in the back slumped over fast asleep.

"Kendrix." I said gently nudging her shoulder.

"Mhmm?" She groaned, head partly rising, eyes fluttering.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Valdez and Calypso enter quietly through the side door. Calypso carrying a basket of fruit. Their eyes widening when they saw us.

"Oh, Leo." Kendrix said sitting up and adjusting her glasses before trying to straighten her hair. "What time is it?"

"Before I could answer the front door opened. "Morning guys." Damon said as he came in followed by Maya, and Kai clacking along on his crutches.

"That time." I said lamely, turning from the group to look at my watch and realized that it was later than I'd thought.

"Oh, man. I'm going to be late for work!" Said Kendrix jumping up and trying to comb her hair with her fingers.

"Wait, Kendrix have you been here all night?" Asked Kai in concern as Valdez and Calypso approached.

"What happened to, I just need somewhere to work quietly for a little while?" Asked Valdez.

Looking down at at the table I saw the leather bound book that we'd found.

"Have you had any luck translating it?" Asked Damon.

"Not much." Kendrix admitted before opening the book and began delicately turning through the pages.

"What does that mean." Asked Valdez.

"Well it's almost impossible to translate a language without a point of reference." Kendrix says.

"Then how did the advance team manage to translate what was at the alter site?" Asked Maya.

"Well, whatever this language is it's clearly based on pictographic principles. Where the symbols resemble what they represent." Kendrix explained enthusiastically.

As my eyes glazed over and I felt my mind begin to numb, I noticed Valdez staring at Kendrix intently.

"What?" She asked noticing Valdez staring.

"Nothing." He said shaking his head. "You just reminded me of someone I used to know."

Kendrix just cocked her head and looked at him quizzically before turning back to the book.

Before any of us could question Valdez further, Calypso turned towards Kai and asked him. "How's your leg?"

Kai grimaced and looked down at his leg that was encased in a cast. "The doctor said that I had cracks in my femur and shin bones. He was baffled on how I could've gotten hurt. Giving Maya a sidelong glance he added. "Then Maya gave him a wild story about how I hurt myself in a roller skating stunt trying to impress a girl."

We all slowly turned to look at Maya. She smiled innocently, even as she looked embarrassed.

"It was all I could come up with on short notice." She defended shyly.

"Yeah, but you didn't have to deal with Stanton questioning you about it." Said Kai sounding exasperated.

"So bringing things back to focus here." Said Damon as he leaned in looking over Kendrix's shoulder at the book and asked. "So do you have anything that could help us?"

"Well." Said Kendrix as she started gently flipping through the book's pages. "I did find something I think you should see. Motioning to all of us to come and look.

As we all crowded around her, Kendrix opened the book to the page she was looking for. "See anything familiar here? She asked as our eyes all widened at the image.

"Whoa." I heard Valdez murmur.

Displayed across the pages in vibrant color, was an artist's depiction of the Galactabeasts.

The five animals that we'd rescued stood together in formation, like we'd seen them do several times now. Beside them was a the Torozord that Magna Defender had summoned.

And behind all of them, stood a creature that I could only describe as a gold painted Godzilla.

"So what do you guys think?" Asked Kendrix. "Think this book could be useful?"

Trakeena POV

I stood outside my father's chambers in the hall trying to listen in.

"The Magna Defender has returned." I heard my father say.

"I am not surprised at this news." Said another voice.

My eyes widened as I recognized Treacheron's voice. Had my father actually gone with Percy's suggestion?

"My Arch rival. He too will be seeking the Lights of Orion."

"He will stop at nothing to get his revenge." My father intoned.

"I beat him three thousand years ago and I can do it again." Treacheron continued.

"See that you do." My father said. "I want him found and slaughtered."

"Don't worry, I know how to find him." Said Treacheron. "Inevitably he'll find himself wanting to be near civilization, and the closest he'll find on this planet is Terra Venture."

"Proceed as you will, but remember." My father commanded "He must not be allowed to find The Lights of Orion."

"Or those irksome rangers." I thought.

"I understand." Answered Treacheron.

Hearing the new general stand to leave I silently slipped away, back into the corridors.

Leo POV

As Valdez lead us back into the garage. He turned around to face us walking backwards saying. "Ok, now prepare to be blown away by my latest invention.

"Personally I'd settle on getting the bikes fixed." I said idly.

"I'm working on that." Valdez said as he flipped on the lights revealing a tarp covering something in the middle of the room.

"Uh, I hate to burst your bubble man but I'm pretty sure that the tarp has already been invented." Said Damon his sarcasm readily apparent.

"Haha, very funny. Said Valdez responding to Damon's sarcasm in kind. "Now behold." He said pulling the tarp of with a theatric flourish.

Sitting on five fancy looking columns were five what looked like miniature bazooka's. Each of them colored to match our Ranger colors.

"I present to you the Quasar Launchers. Said Valdez proudly puffing out his chest.

"So what do they do." Asked Maya.

"After that last battle I thought it'd be a good idea to get you guys some extra firepower." Explained Valdez. "These pack a lot of punch in relatively small packages."

None of us said anything. We all knew that we'd been unable to put a dent in that last Monster.

Kai looking down at his leg asked. "You think they'll make a difference?"

"Look man in all seriousness you've built some impressive stuff." Said Damon. "But I have a hard time thinking miniature bazookas are going scare Scorpius and his freaks."

"Well I'd tell you to try it out, but not in my shop." Said Valdez.

Calypso spoke up and asked, Kai. "Do want me to take a look at that leg for you?"

"Uh, I think I'll be alright." Said Kai delicately, trying to be polite.

"Calypso's treated far worse things than a broken leg." Valdez interjected. Nodding at Kai's crutches he added. "You want to be able to get around without those things, right?"

"He's got a point there Kai." I said. "Give it a chance what do you have to lose."

Kai looked like he wanted to argue but instead just let out a sigh and said. "Alright."

"I've handled a lot worse than a broken leg." Calypso said reassuringly, Valdez nodding in agreement.

"I can vouch for that." Valdez said.

As Calypso guided Kai back to her and Valdez's apartment. I saw Kendrix out of the corner of my eye watching our exchange and purse her lips like she wanted to say something.

"So does Calypso have powers, like you or something?" Maya asked idly.

"Eh, I'm not really clear on that myself. Admitted Valdez.

"Hey Leo." I heard Kendrix say.

Turning to look at her, she had an expression on her face that I couldn't quite read. But I could tell that she wasn't happy about what she was about to say.

"Don't you think that you kinda forced Kai into excepting Calypso's help." Said Kendrix.

"I didn't mean to." I replied nervously.

"I know." Said Kendrix." And I know it's awkward to spring it on you like that. But I think this needs to be said.

Looking around I saw everyone grimacing but nodding in agreement.

"Hate to say it man, but she's got a point." Said Damon.

"This can't just be about what I told Kai." I said looking around at everyone.

"Leo you're leaping without looking." Kendrix.

"Is that what you guys think." I said challengingly. Instinctively trying to defend myself.

"It's not just what they think." Said Valdez speaking up. The usual mirth in his voice gone.

Everybody looked at him surprised at seeing the usually sarcastic and joking mechanic totally serious.

"It's about what I know." Valdez continued his voice cold. "And know that if you continue on like you have been, then you're going to get yourself or one your friends killed."

"Leo." Said Kendrix. "In that last battle you ran off on your own not once but twice!"

"Yeah but." I started to say.

"No, Leo let me finish." Said Kendrix. "I know how hard losing Mike was for you. But you can't just run off like that."

"Ok I hear what you guys are saying, but it all worked out." I tried to argue.

"Leo the last time you ran off you got into a fight with Furio." Countered Damon.

"And if it wasn't for that Magna Defender guy who carried you out. You would've died when when Furio went all kamikaze."

Maya pointed out.

Anything I could've said died in my throat as Valdez continued. "When you go off on on your own you put yourself and everybody else and everybody here at risk." Valdez's usually upbeat attitude now ice cold.

"Leo you have team that's more than willing to help you." Said Kendrix comfortingly.

"Guys." I started to say not sure how to respond. But apparently Valdez had more to say.

"Trust me when I say this." Said Valdez. "When your a part of a team everything you do has an effect on everyone else.

"I, I need a minute." I muttered turning to leave and try to clear my head and think.

"Leo." I heard Kendrix say as I left.

Percy POV

I was heading back to my quarters when I heard a nasally voice behind me say. "Ah, Perseus I've been hoping to speak with you."

Turning around I found myself face to face with Treacheron.

His wide billowing robes and katana sheathed at his hip honestly made him look like a samurai. At least except for his blue skin.

"Master Treacheron." I said bowing my head slightly to him in respect.

When I'd first been pressed into working for Scorpius. He'd assigned Treacheron to train me up to his standards.

Treacheron was a harsh but fair teacher. Managing to explain things in a way that even my ADHD demigod brain could understand. He reminded a little like Chiron that way. Anyway several sessions with Treacheron mixed with life or death missions later. I was now well versed in who the big players in the galaxy were, and in hand to hand combat. Now I could be lethal unarmed.

Not that I ever would be with Riptide, but still.

Treacheron could be a lot of things, but he was probably the only person on this ship I could count on to be relatively sane. Or to not want to kill me honestly.

Trakeena may have been my only ally and girlfriend, but I couldn't say she was always the most reasonable. Not that I was seaweed brain enough to tell her that though.

"What do you need." I asked.

"I understand that I have you to thank for my recent promotion." Treacheron says.

"Scorpius asked my opinion and I gave It to him." I replied honestly.

"You've never been shy about sharing that." Treacheron said throwing his head back and letting out a sound that was a twisted cross between a chuckle and a cackle. "Nevertheless you have my thanks." He finished.

"I'm glad I could help." I said awkwardly, not how to reply.

"Good because I have need of you, my old protege." Said Treacheron. "Scorpius has tasked me to find the Magna Defender and end him. I believe that he'll be hiding in or near the human city."

It took nearly all my willpower not to react in horror to that. Instead I schooled my features and tried to keep my expression neutral.

"What do you need?" I asked.

Treacheron continued. " First, I want you to speak to the Colony's leadership and get them to help us search the city."

That was, not what I was expecting.

Whatever Treacheron was planning I knew he tended to be more tactical than Furio. Who approached every problem with the subtlety of a sledgehammer.

Whether that would be a good or a bad thing here, I honestly wasn't sure.

"I can handle that." I answered.

"Good I'll also need you incase those rangers get involved." Said Treacheron.

"More like when." I muttered under my breath.

"Don't worry." Treacheron said with an uncharacteristic smirk on his face. "I plan on having some extra muscle with us."

When I appeared in the middle of the of the Station's command center, the staff seemed to recognize me and reacted immediately.

Almost before I knew it, I was sitting in the commander's office.

"Stanton." I greeted him before saying.

"I can't imagine this is going to be good." He replied focusing his attention on me his face grim.

"The situation has changed." I said without preamble, before continuing. "Furio's dead.

Stanton sat up a little straighter in his chair. "The Rangers?" He asked.

I just nodded and continued. "And their not even the most pressing issue. Someone else has showed up..

"Who." Stanton pressed.

"Somebody called the Magna Defender." I explained. "Now I don't know what the full story here is. But Furio's replacement Treacheron is planning to search the city for him"

I stopped and looked at Stanton as he tried to absorb everything I'd just sprung on him in a hurry.

Stanton was clearly struggling to process, and was trying to figure out how to answer. Not that I could blame him.

"I would've thought that you'd just do it and not bother to tell us what you were planning." Stanton replied coldly.

"Your not wrong." I admitted before continuing. "Treacheron wants you're men to help us find the Magna Defender."

Stanton leaned back slightly his eyes widening in surprise at that, and I struck.

"This is a rare opportunity to get in the good graces of our new general." I said. "Something that could only help the colony in the long run."

I could that Stanton knew he was having his strings pulled and didn't like it. But he wouldn't be able deny argue with that logic. After all his job was to lookout for the best interests of Terra Venture.

Believe it or not, I was trying to as well.

What do you need from me? Stanton finally asked a moment later.

Getting up to leave I answered we'll be in touch just be sure to keep this a secret.

With that I vanished in a flash of green light.

Stanton POV

I leaned back in my office chair. Hands covering my face as I mulled over everything that ambassador (I still didn't know his name) had said.

As much as I didn't like the idea of Aliens tearing apart my colony. I didn't like the thought of a potentially hostile unknown hiding in it even less.

With that thought I called up the ranking security officer on the surface.

This colony had been designed with the thought that it would be some celestial paradise, free of crime and want. As a result even with the revelation of aliens security had been an afterthought at best. Well that stopped now, I decided.

"Sir." Captain Johnathan Rico answered immediately saluting me through the computer screen.

"Captain." I greeted him in return. "I want you to begin setting up security cameras and other sensors around the city."

"Understood sir!" The Captain answered before reluctantly adding. "Though there's not much equipment for that here currently. I'm not sure how much of the city we'll be able to cover."

I tried not to grimace as I heard that even though I'd known about the limited equipment.

"Do the best you can captain." I told him. "I'll make sure that what you need is on the first shuttle that comes through."

"That won't be until after the space elevator is finished." The Captain reminded him.

"I know." I said before grimacing as I tried to figure out how to address the main reason that I'd called. Needing to keep my recent conversation with the ambassador secret.

An ambassador who was directly responsible for the Terra Venture project getting off the ground in the first place. After championing the idea to his boss.

For reasons unknown. I thought grimly.

"Sir?" The Captain asked curiously dragging me out off my thoughts.

"I want you to start running search and seizure training for the men.

Rico cocked his head to the side slightly confused but didn't say anything.

"This is of course need to know only." I told him.

"Sir yes sir." He replied snapping off a salute.

"Stanton signing out." I said and switched off the monitor.

Percy POV

A few days later

When Treacheron called me to meet him in Scorpius's chamber. I knew immediately it was because he was about to conduct his search.

Entering the room I immediately saw the usual suspects. Trakeena was there leaning against the wall in her usual spot. Scorpius of course sat in his position. Treacheron knelt before Scorpius discussing something or other.

"Your scheme has better work Treacheron." I heard Scorpius say.

Which was strange since I wouldn't say that what we were doing was really a scheme.

"Ah, Perseus." Treacheron greeted rising to greet me as he saw me enter.

"Now we're only missing one more person." Said Treacheron before shouting. "Fishface!"

As if on cue an explosion of smoke and sparks erupted in the center of the room like a stage magician's dramatic entrance.

But instead of a magician in the center of the room stood another alien that I hadn't met before.

He had dark brown skin with fish fins on his arms and in place of facial hair. Along with glowing green eyes that stretched around the sides of his head. He had aN old fashioned burlap sack tied to the sash around his waist

"Fishface here, and reporting for duty." The alien proclaimed loudly. His voice oddly synthesized and mechanical.

"Your bringing this bag of hot air with you?" Trakeena asked sounding a little incredulous.

"Hey!" Shouted Fishface sounding indignant. "With my blast bag the Rangers won't know what hit them." He patted the sack at his side and it started spewing smoke and sparks.

"Enough of this foolishness!" Snapped Scorpius as everyone else was coughed from the smoke.

"My apologies master." Said Fishface as he hurriedly tied his sack shut.

"I rest my case." Said Trakeena rolling her eyes at the monster's antics.

"Perseus, Fishface. Fishface, Perseus." Treacheron said making introductions and trying to bring us back to focus.

I eyed the alien carefully. I'd learned a long time ago not judge a monster by they're cover. I was almost certain that there had to be a reason that Treacheron had chosen him. I of course had no idea what that reason might be though.

"Now then." Said Treacheron. " we have work to do."

With that the three of us vanished in a flash of green energy, teleporting down to the surface.

3rd POV

L & C's Garage

Leo sat down and covered his face with his hands.

"You okay!" Kendrix asked sitting down beside him.

Not saying anything Leo just looked over at Kendrix with a tired expression on his face.

"Yeah I kinda figured." Kendrix said nervously. "For whatever it's worth I'm sorry for how everything came out earlier. I never meant for everyone to gang up on you."

"As much as I'd like to argue, you guy made some pretty good points." Leo admitted.

"Leo we all make mistakes." Said Kendrix. "That's how we learn."

"Not when making a mistake could mean somebody getting killed." Leo said darkly.

Kendrix pursed her lips thinking carefully of how to respond and moment later finally said. "You know what made your brother such a great leader was his ability to think about what everyone on his team needed.

As raised his head and was about to say something. Kai burst into the back of the shop and shouted. "Guys! We've got trouble!"

Instantly Leo and Kendrix were on their feet.

"What's going on?" Valdez asked as he and Calypso rushed in, concerned looks on their faces.

Kai's face showed a borderline panic as he started to explain. "The GSA are searching the city. Their systematically searching every building looking for something or someone. Most likely us!"

"Ok, that's not good." Said Valdez. "If they were to search my shop." He trailed off.

"It gets worse." Said Kai. "The GSA isn't working alone. I saw Stingwingers in the air providing over watch. Along with that guy in the armor and two other aliens."

The other's faces rapidly paled as they realized the gravity of the situation.

"I might be able to pull the wool over the eyes of the GSA. I've done it before." Valdez was saying. "But if Scorpius' goons are involved that's not likely to be an option."

"If Scorpius is manipulating the GSA, then if they search the garage we're all going to be wanted fugitives." Said Kendrix.

"And I doubt we'll last much longer after that." Said Kai darkly.

"We need to keep that from happening." Declared Leo.

"Agreed." Said Valdez rushing to his computer terminal.

"Yeah, but how exactly are supposed to stop this." Argued Kai. "Because I'm not about to start fighting the GSA too."

"We'll have to figure something out. I don't know what but…" Valdez trailed off.

"You guys go." Calypso told them.

"If we don't do anything a lot of ordinary people are likely to get hurt." Said Leo who turned to look at Kai. "Are you just going to stand by and let that happen?"

Kai stood silent in thought before nodding his agreement.

"I'll get ahold of Damon and Maya and send them to meet you." Said Valdez already typing rapidly on his controls.

"Let's go." Kendrix said three of them already rushing towards the door.

"I hope you come up with a plan." Said Leo yelling over his shoulder as he left.

Looking down at his controls Valdez muttered. "So do I."

Percy POV

I watched as GSA soldiers went from apartment to apartment searching every nook and cranny.

I'd been honestly impressed by captain Rico. He'd of course been shocked when we'd appeared. But he'd managed to keep his cool and kept the soldiers from shooting us. Which was nice, and probably kept Fishface from starting a fight.

"Aw this is taking too long!" Fishface complained and not for the first time. "I want to blast something." He added patting the bag at his hip.

Not for the first time I resisted the urge to hit this brute. Before I could give into the temptation though I luckily distracted.

"Sir!" Said a GSA soldier nervously jogging up to us. "We've cleared the entire block. There's nothing here that shouldn't be. Sir"

"Very good." Said Treacheron. "On to the next area."

"Do you really think he's here?" I asked quietly.

"The Magna Defender?" Treacheron replied. "Don't worry he'll be along."

I just nodded not sharing Treacheron's confidence.

As we watched men from the GSA kick in another door with Fishface terrifying the woman inside. Treacheron leaned in and I heard. "But that's not really what you want to talk about is it? You're worried about the plans you have for Terra Venture.

I turned to look at Treacheron, the incredulous expression on my face fortunately hidden by my helmet.

Barely glancing at me Treacheron just smirked. "Don't act so surprised my protege."

Not sure what else to say I just hissed out. "How?"

"It wasn't hard to figure out that you had an alternative motive for championing Terra Venture to Scorpius."

"Master Treacheron." I started before Treacheron waved his hand dismissively, cutting off whatever I was going to say.

"However given how close you've become with princess Trakeena, I find it unlikely that whatever it is that you're planning would adversely effect Lord Scorpius' interests." Treacheron said calmly. "So long as that continues to be the case I see no reason to involve myself."

"After that's partly why I chose to involve the GSA in this." He added nodding his head towards the soldiers.

As my thundering heart calmed down I looked at Treacheron and bowed my head. "Thank you."

"Think nothing of it my protege. After all I do still owe you for my recent promotion.

Before I could say anything else though things went to Hades.

A rapid series of blaster shots rang out hitting Fishface and sending him rolling, and knocking his bag off of his hip.

"Fishface!" The Magna Defender growled. Jumping down from one of the surrounding buildings. "I believe we have unfinished business!" Turning to me and Treacheron he added. "And you as well Treacheron."

"Stingwingers!" Fishface yelled jumping back to his feet. The foot soldiers dutifully landing beside him. "Get him!"

Raising their scythe hands the bugs rushed forward.

Shifting his weapon into sword mode. The Magna Defender preceded to rapidly cut down the Stingwingers. With quick and precise swings of his sword as soon they came within reach.

"Captain Rico!" Treacheron called out.

"Sir." The GSA officer said hurrying up beside us as we analyzed the battle.

"Captain the services of you and your men are no longer required." Said Treacheron calmly. "Move your men back."

A crack showed on the Captain's professional expression and for an instant I saw the look of utter relief on his face. Not that I could blame him.

As the Captain rushed to do as he was told, a metallic clang rang out.

"The only thing left unfinished was killing you!" I heard Fishface's mechanical voice say as he pressed his blade against The Magna Defender's.

I took a step forward intent on entering the fray. Treacheron put a hand on my shoulder stopping me. Looking back over my shoulder Treacheron just nodded his head towards the fight.

Fishface broke away from the Magna Defender and jumped back. His hand instantly going to the sack on his hip. As soon as he loosened the string tying it shut. A torrent of sand blasted out violently exploding as soon as it came into contact with the Magna Defender.

The Magna Defender was sent careening into the wall of the nearby apartment complex. The impact leaving a web of cracks on the wall.

As more Stingwingers landed around us. I started to think that having The Magna Defender as outnumbered as we did and that between me and Treacheron we could end this quickly.

Then the Power Rangers showed up and everything went to Tartarus.

3rd POV

Deciding to abandon any idea of stealth the moment that they heard explosions. The Rangers rushed into the scene and saw the Magna Defender getting back to his feet.

"I've been waiting a long time for this day." The Magna Defender hissed pointing his blade at Fishface.

"Yeah, about three thousand years!" Fishface mocked brandishing his sword. "Now let's get to the party!"

The two of them rushed each other. Their swords meeting with a resounding clang as the warriors began to clash.

Turning slightly Treacheron noticed the Rangers out of the corner of his eye. "Fishface!" He hollered.

Snarling, Fishface broke away from the Magna Defender and making a massive leap, jumped backwards landing beside Percy and Treacheron.

Without another word Fishface rapidly reached into his bag and pulled out a fist full of sand and threw it on the ground.

The trio disappeared in a cloud of smoke and reappeared on top of a nearby apartment complex.

"Welcome Rangers." Said Treacheron his tone oddly calm and polite.

"Thank you for joining us Rangers now I can get rid of all of you." Gloated Fishface.

"Stay out of this Rangers!" Growled the Magna Defender shifting his weapon into gun mode and aiming it at the trio. Rapidly unleashing a barrage of energy bolts flying towards them.

The three of them immediately leapt from the top of the building, back to the ground. Fishface in particular rushed towards the Magna Defender intent on continuing their fight.

Where they'd stood a second before shattered and erupted in flames, from the Magna Defender's attack.

Percy looked back at the sight an expression of horror hidden behind his faceplate. Screams already coming from inside the apartments.

"Rangers, how nice to finally meet you." Said Treacheron striding forward. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Treacheron, Scorpius' new general."

"I don't care who you are!" Shouted Leo drawing his saber and pointing at Treacheron.

Percy took a step forward Riptide appearing in his hand.

Treacheron turned his head slightly noticing Percy's approach and raised his hand motioning for him to stop.

A piece of masonry fell from the top of the building shattering as it hit the ground.

The people who lived inside the apartment building were rushing outside as blaze inside spread rapidly.

"Oh no, civilians!" Yelled Maya.

"We need to get them out of here! It's way too dangerous." Said Damon.

"We have to help them." Agreed Kendrix.

Leo ran forward attempting to rush past Treacheron running towards the fire.

Treacheron smirked ever so slightly and gently put his hand on his katana.

Within the merest fraction of a second a shower of sparks exploded from Leo's chest. Treacheron stood with his sword in the air, and slowly sheathed his sword.

"What?" Leo murmured as he collapsed to the ground.

"Leo!" Maya shouted her and the others rushing forward.

Instantly Treacheron reacted, drawing his katana again at blinding speed and in one expertly, trained and impossibly fast movement. Rapidly striking out at the other Rangers with his blade in quick succession, and re-sheathing between each strike. Sparks flying from the rangers forms with every hit.

All in under a second.

As Treacheron sheathed his blade the final time, the Rangers collapsed to the ground one by one. Clutching at their sides gasping in pain.

"You've been training." Percy said as he casually approached Treacheron.

"A necessity." Said Treacheron. "If I want to keep my apprentice from surpassing me too easily." Giving Percy a knowing nod, before turning his attention to the ongoing fight between the Magna Defender and Fishface.

"Now for the one we came for." Treacheron added as he observed the fight.

As their blades met again, the Magna Defender began rapidly hammering his weapon against Fishface's fin sword.

With a particularly savage downward slash of his sword the Magna Defender knocked Fishface's blade out of his hand and sent it skidding along the pavement. And then slicing Fishface's blast bag from his hip.

"He's winning." Leo murmured as he and the others got back to their feet.

The Magna Defender pointed his sword at Fishface. Striding forward as the alien stumbled back obviously frightened.

"Let's end this now." The Magna Defender growled.

"There's my teddy." Said a little girl hurrying back to pick up her toy that she'd dropped in the chaos.

Everyone stood there moments stunned by the sight.

Unfortunately Fishface recovered first and leapt at the girl, grabbing his sword from the ground as he ran.

Grabbing the girl who let out a terrified scream as he pressed his sword against her throat. "Hahaha!" He laughed.

"Oh no!" Said Maya.

"Brings back so many happy memories doesn't it!" Fishface mocked. "All of you drop your weapons or else!" He added looking at the Rangers.

"Better do what he says." Said Leo as he and the others reluctantly threw down their sabers.

While the Magna Defender just continued to point his blade at Fishface.

"I said drop it!" Fishface shouted

Father help me!

The Magna Defender advanced in Fishface, shifting his weapon into gun mode. "Prepare to die." He said coldly his voice utterly devoid of emotion.

"Don't come any closer." Shouted Fishface.

"Stop what about the girl." Leo yelled.

"You showed no mercy for my son, now I'll show no mercy for you." The Magna Defender growled as his finger slowly tightened on the trigger.

Leo leapt forward his arm outstretched desperate to try and stop what was about to happen.

"Noooo!"
