V wished she'd planned better. While the tarp did protect her from the sun, it was tearing on the blades of her wings, gradually exposing more & more to the punishing rays. She had to find Uzi. Fast. She'd asked N what time they returned & used that to estimate how far Uzi could have gotten before sunrise. As she neared that range, she scanned for possible cover, and suitable places for an angsty teenager to hide & mope. Bingo. An old skyscraper: good views, shade, and easy take off for an inexperienced flyer. V swooped down, landing on the highest floor where she took the tarp off. It was in a terrible state, she'd probably be stuck until night too. She crept around, listening & looking for Uzi. It'd be trouble if Cyn had gained control & saw her first. She searched the top floor: nothing. The next one down: nothing, but as she rounded the stairs to the next floor, she could hear voices. Each floor appeared to be part of a single penthouse apartment, maybe a JC Jenson bigwig lived here, but it didn't really matter to V, nor did she particularly care. She paused to listen, "Leave me alone you fucking psycho!" "I am trying to be nice." Uzi & Cyn, but she had to confirm it was Cyn speaking from the tail. V continued down, ducking behind a kitchen counter, "you know what'd be nice? If you'd fucking die!" It was definitely Cyn's voice, her speech pattern was unmistakeable, "how- cruel… N deserves so much better." V tried to get a view. No mirrors and all the windows were broken. "Robo-God, you are SO ANNOYING!" it sounded like Uzi was in control, their conversation would probably be very different if not, but she hoped Uzi wouldn't take that last comment to heart. She grabbed a shard of glass; skyscrapers back on earth would reflect like a mirror from a distance, but she could see right through the coating at this distance. After briefly considering her options, her off hand turned into a claw as she readied to throw the shard.

CRASH! Uzi & Cyn both turned to look towards the source of the sound. Seeing nothing, Uzi stalked closer, Cyn's gaze following hers. Uzi passed a counter, her eyes focused on the room beyond, missing the murder drone hidden behind it, who now pounced, slicing Uzi's tail off & slamming her into a wall, "AH! V! Why are you here!? What… are you… doing?" V's claw was raised above her head, her forearm against Uzi's neck, she relaxed slightly as she spoke, "finishing Cyn off. You'll be fine." V's claw became a hand again as she stuck it into Uzi's mouth, she didn't get very far, however, her wrist becoming caught on Uzi's mouth, she quickly retracted it. "Oh, that didn't… Sorry?" Uzi's face flashed up "srsly?" while crossing her arms. V felt humiliated, "oh, don't give me that. I'm trying to help." Uzi raised an eyebrow, incredulous. V bent down, grabbing Uzi by her legs & lifted, "plan B. sorry in advance." Uzi now hung upside-down, "Hey! Wha- ububububububu…" V's new plan was to shake Uzi until she spat Cyn's core out. Wherever it was, surely it could come out the way it went in. "come on, spit it out. I don't wanna cut you open. I promis-" Uzi began coughing violently, V switched to shaking Uzi with one hand, using the other to smack her back, hoping to help it come free. Uzi wretched as it came free, V dropped Uzi & went for the core, "Uzi, say something," Uzi flipped her off, "Bite me." V tightened her grip on the core in her hand, confident she was holding Cyn's, her impressions were never that convincing. "well, thanks for nothing, Cyn. You can officially bite me." and thus died Cyn at last, crushed by her first disassembly drone. V didn't notice, but "LAME" flashed across Uzi's face.

Uzi didn't bother trying to stand, instead leaning against the wall. As the shattered remains of Cyn's core fell from V's hand, she exchanged a look with Uzi. Uzi's eyes had lost their yellow tint, and V appeared melancholic. V approached Uzi, kneeling down beside her, "You ok?" Uzi pouted, "Dizzy, but free of the nutjob in my tail. I'd say so" V smiled and, surprising herself as much it did Uzi, brought her into a hug, Uzi's head resting on V's chest. "glad you're alright," they stayed that way for a minute or two. after all that happened last night, Uzi needed the comfort and V was lost in thought. Eventually, Uzi pushed V off and asked with a warm smile, "so, how'd you come after me in the day can we get back now?" V let out a deep breath, leaning against the same wall as Uzi and said, "I… covered myself with a tarp. Cut to ribbons now, so we're stuck till nightfall." Uzi Nodded & showed the time on her face, "15:47" 4 hours or so to wait. She followed it up with ,"U good?" V was fidgeting & looking at her hands, "I… I'm free." a faint smile on her lips, "no more memory wipes, no more playing the bloodthirsty killer, I could go back to a worker body if I wanted," Uzi looked over at V, grinning, "wanna swap?" V looked down at Uzi, a deep sense of foreboding, "ha! No chance. You're trouble enough as is." Uzi pouted and looked away, "fine! you look dumb and ugly anyway…" V chuckled, no way was Uzi being this childish, "way to lighten the mood, huh? Thanks." she ruffled Uzi's hair as she spoke, Uzi pushed her off lightly, hiding a blush. "whad'ya think happens to the rest of the disassembly drones? The ones on other planets?" Uzi looked towards the window, even with copper-9's thin atmosphere, the stars were hidden by day. V pondered the question, "I guess they'll stop killing eventually. No new orders and if they're anything like us, no way offworld and they've been sat there for a decade or two. Maybe there are other drone or even human colonies for them to integrate into" Uzi nodded along as V spoke, not truly paying much attention. Between school the previous day, the excursion to the labs & coming here, she'd been awake for 35 hours at this point and V's long response went in one ear and out the other, only serving to lull her to sleep. As she entered sleep mode, she slumped against V, her head resting on the other drone's shoulder. V sighed, her face face settling into a gentle smile. They still had several hours till sunset & sleeping would pass the time the quickest, so she set an alarm for a couple hours after sunset & entered sleep mode herself, resting her head on top of Uzi's.
