3rd person pov

(A/N: thx patrickpopp for the idea!)

A gaggle of laughter burst into Eddie and Jamie's apartment, curtesy of their two-year-old son Philip. The boy with his father's eyes and his mother's hair and hunger went straight to the visitors. His cousins Joe, Nicky, Jack and Sean

"Hiiii!"

Making a split-second decision, the toddler ran into a pair of arms, laughing

"Joeyy!"

The cousin in question laughed, blowing a raspberry onto the youngster's stomach

"Phil! Wow, you're getting big!"

He shrugged between giving Nicky, Sean and Jack hugs

"Daddy says I eat like Mama."

Laughing, Joe spoke

"I'll bet you do. Where are your mama and daddy, by the way?"

No sooner had the Detective made the inquiry, the Sargent and the Officer in question joined them, looking ready for a rare night out between work and their energetic toddler. Nicky let out a playful catcall whistle

"Look at you two! Looking GOOD! We got the munchkin, go and have fun."

Eddie playfully pouted at her niece

"It's almost unfair that I have to keep one Reagan in line tonight and you have to balance four, Nicky."

With a faux sigh, her niece spoke

"I'll survive."

As expected, there was a prompt response from her nephews

"Heey... Not nice."

Laughing and ruffling their red curls, Eddie spoke

"I'm just joking. Thank you all so much. You five behave, ok?"

The eldest four nodded as Jamie thanked them and joined his wife in saying goodbye to their son. The babysitters already were attuned to their baby cousin's schedule, and it was written on the fridge if they needed a refresher. They would have the tiny tot for almost two hours, barring traffic. All would be fine. Soon, Joe broke the silence

"Hey, Nicky? Phil needs to eat. He's been sucking on my fingers and shirt, and he's not even on a milk-only diet anymore."

Nicky's voice came from the kitchen area

"I was getting his apple juice, spaghetti-O's and potatoes ready. You can set him in his chair, then he can eat."

Joe tried to put Phil in his highchair, but every effort was for not. This baby was a clingy one, not unlike Jamie had been. Finally, he gave up

"I'll just hold him while you feed him."

Nicky nodded and put the tray from the highchair where her baby cousin could reach his dinner. Thankfully, the cup protected the apple juice from going anywhere else, but the food was a different story. As much as Nicky tried to redirect the food, or even feed him a couple of times, some potatoes found themselves mashed onto her and Joe's cheeks, a few spaghetti-O's in his hair. And that was what got on them, not even counting the kitchen or Phil. Jack spoke

"Sean and I will clean the kitchen, you three need to get cleaned up."

It was cute but also kind of heartbreaking how Phil was crying until he was back in Joe's arms. Luckily, it did not take long. Unluckily, just about a half hour later, he exploded in his diaper. Jack piped up, wanting to give Joe a break

"I'll give him a bath and change him. Double check to see if he didn't get any on you."

Joe smiled gratefully

"Thanks. I'm somehow unscathed."

However, Jack and the bathroom were not so lucky when Phil decided to flood the bathroom splashing away. Jack knew hiw to placate him, though

"If you stop doing what you already know you can't do, we can do cuddles instead."

That caught the toddler's attention and seemed to suffice. Sean had taken upon himself the task of cleaning the bathroom and doing the laundry and did so quickly. Danny's youngest then spoke

"I can put him down for his nap, Uncle Jamie and Aunt Eddie should be here in 20 minutes."

But try as he might, Phil would just not go down. Three stories, two lullabies, lights on, lights off, two duckies and two doggies later, and nothing. Seeking help, Sean explained his dilemma to the others, and Jack and Nicky tried, to no avail. Joe spoke after inspecting his cousin

"No fever, not teething, no colic... Let me see him.

All four oldest Reagans melted at what happened next. As soon as Phil was in Joe's arms, he fell fast asleep.
