NOTES: Thanks for waiting and I'm sorry it took me a bit longer to update.
I'll be honest with u all: sadly, is taking me a bit longer to write because since I got Covid for the second time back in 2022, I ended up with Long Covid and it's affecting my memory (nothing too serious, but it's annoying) and I forget small things (A few days ago I forgot half the things I thought for the end of this Xmas story, gladly it came back to me)
So, if I ever take a bit longer to update anything again, it's because I'm probably (either going nuts doing 3847346365 things at the same time) or I'm reading everything so I can remember what I wrote lol

81 Holidays and Heartbreak PART 3
Oliver tried to get some sleep after days of waking up in the middle of the night having the same dream. He knew what happened between Kara and him the last time they were at the bunker would haunt him and there was nothing he could do about it because it felt like all the lunatics in the world decided to attack at the same time.
Team Arrow had their hands full with a few criminals and gangs in Star City, Supergirl team were after a few rogue aliens that were giving National City Police nightmares while Clark had an emergency in Metropolis. Team Flash as usual, were arresting metas up and down Central City, it felt like pure chaos everywhere so they didn't have any time to see each other since that day. Oliver knew he had to do something because he cleared everything with Kara about the misunderstanding with Susan, they talked, he said everything he ever wanted to say to her, but he still needed to hear from her and that didn't happen. He got up and went to the bathroom, to wash his face with cold water and stared at his reflection in the mirror, remembering that in two days they were all going to Lena's Mansion for the Holidays. He smiled, knowing they would have time to figure things out with no way for her to run.
A few hours later, Thea and Clark met in the bunker, finding Oliver, Diggle and Sara training there. They both looked a bit nervous, something Oliver found really weird, but decided to say nothing and just wait.
- Can we talk? – Thea asked Oliver, feeling really excited.
- Sure… It's everything ok? – Oliver asked, staring suspiciously at Clark
- Everything is great! – Thea said.
Sara and Diggle nodded and left the bunker, leaving the three of them to talk alone.
- I'll rip it from Thea later – Sara whispered to Diggle, making him laugh as they left.
- So… - Oliver stared from Clark to Thea and crossed his arms. – What do you want to talk about?
- I just wanted you to be the first to know, since you're my brother and basically only living relative and we all will be spending Christmas together… Clark and I… We're seeing each other.
- Oh… That's great – Oliver opened a smile, he had a feeling they would tell him something like this sooner or later – I'm really happy for you two. – Oliver said, hugging Thea.
- Thank you – Clark said as Oliver reached for his hand, shaking it – Just one thing… I don't care how strong you are, if you hurt my sister I'll find kryptonite and you'll be really sorry.
- That's fair… But it won't be necessary, I would find kryptonite myself before I could ever hurt your sister – Clark said, shaking Oliver's hand back.
- We'll stop by at CatCo to tell Kara and then we'll go pack, so I'll see you later. Thanks for being such a cool brother – Thea said giving one last hug at Oliver – And don't look at me like this, I'm your sister and I'll keep hugging you, even if you don't like hugs, I don't care – She teased, letting him go and reaching for Clark's hands.
Oliver nodded as they left. He grabbed his things and went back home to pack everything for their trip and to prepare mentally for a much needed conversation he would have with Kara the moment he could find sometime alone with her, otherwise he would go crazy, he knew it.
.
Lena got to the mansion before everyone else to prepare the place for everyone to enjoy a cozy weekend. She smiled; knowing that after so many years, that place would finally bring her some good memories. The mansion was used by Lillian and Lionel for vacations, or business negotiations and she remembered playing chess with Lex when they were kids, while the adults worked and fought. After Lex went to prison, she sent people from time to time to clean, she rented for a few times but never again set her foot there until now. She parked in the huge garage and went inside, holding a box with many Christmas décor. The housekeeper helped her grab a few more things from the car and Lena told her she could go and spend the Holidays with her family, that she had everything covered.
Kara got there just a few minutes after Lena, to help and try to occupy her mind, but she was finding it really hard to concentrate after she finally got some time off to think about everything that happened and that almost happened between Oliver and her. Lena noticed something was off and stared curiously at Kara.
- What? – Kara asked, smiling a bit nervously.
- Did something happen? You look like you're about to open a hole on the floor.
- Nah… I mean, yes…it did but it didn't, I mean…It almost did…
- Kara – Lena said dropping some decorations on the couch, holding Kara's shoulders – breathe.
- I'm sorry, I'm just… I'm so… I don't even know how to say this…
- Come here… - Lena held Kara's hand and brought her to the couch. – Breath, calm down… and then, tell me what happened, you're starting to worry me.
- Oliver and I almost slept together…again
- What? How? I mean, spare me the specifics – Lena teased – You know what I mean.
- Remember when I told you what happened between us? How everything went south and then I saw him with Susan…
- And you thought for sure they were going out after I told you multiple times he can't stand her? Yes I remember.
- I know… I know. But having her almost jumping him all the time, it annoyed me a bit but… I was … I'm still figuring out what I felt back then and now but… Oliver cleared things up about her, he wanted for me to confirm if I was jelous and asked me how I felt about him… And I froze… Then Diggle came in while…
- Oh my God! – Lena covered her mouth with both her hands, in shock
- I acted fast and left and I think he didn't notice anything… And I haven't seen Oliver ever since.
- Oh… so you'll see him for the first time after that… now?
- Yes.
- Oh, now it all makes sense! – Lena said, getting up – I can understand how this must be awkward and difficult but… You guys need to talk, now more than ever. And most importantly, Kara, you need to figure it out what you feel…
- I know, he told me how he feels… I feel so bad and… The thing is this isn't all about Susan, yes she annoys me and I really dislike her but, the situation is way deeper – Kara said, also getting up – We can talk later – She said as Ray, Thea, Oliver, Cisco, Barry and Sara came in.
Caitlin came a few hours later and Thea let them all know that Clark had a few things to do in Metropolis but he would come the next day.
Lena showed them the mansion and everyone looked around in awe. The front door gave acess to the living room that had a dark carpet on the floor, a huge fireplace on the wall to their right, home theater and a piano across the room to their left, next to it, there was the dinning room with a huge table that could easily fit 30 people and many chairs. To their right there was a door that gave access to the kitchen. Across the room there was a beautiful china cabinet, a white and gold chandelier in the ceiling and to their left, there was a short hallway with acess to a bathroom and a solar room at the end of the hall.
The kitchen had an island and a few stools around it, many cabinets, a huge fridge and oven and totheir left there was a door giving access to a huge garden that had leaf walls and transparent ceiling that could open and close so they could be protected from rain, but still able to look at the skies. There were a few benches, a place that seemed like a sauna and a hot tub. On the mansion's second floor there was a library, many suites all with king size beds, huge bathtubs on the bathroom and at the end of the hallway, there was a balcony with a gorgeous view of the city.
- All rooms are available to use, so you just can pick one and make yourself at home – Lena said after the end of the tour.
- I love this place already – Cisco said
- Thanks for inviting us all here, Lena, I think this will be a great Christmas – Sara said
- Is Alex coming? – Lena asked Kara – I sent her an invitation but never got an answer…
- Yes, she will be here tomorrow, she sent hugs for everyone, she misses you all – Kara said
They all helped Lena finishing decorating the place for their Christmas party and gathered together in the living room after dinner, for some drinks and games. Kara could sense Oliver's eyes staring at her from time to time and she truly hoped they could find some time to talk properly. Her mind was miles away when Cisco called her name, bringing her back to whatever they were playing now. It was some truth game, and Kara felt really nervous about it.
- Sorry, my mind traveled far away – Kara laughed – What was the question?
- About your planet. – Cisco said – I've always wanted to know how it was like visiting another planet if it was a reality and now we know it is… So how was like it there?
Kara took a deep breath, thinking about it. She had beautiful memories of her home planet, her people, her family and all adventures she lived there. They were also memories that brought a bit of pain because she missed it all. She knew Argo was still there, but it wasn't the same.
- It was a beautiful and advanced culture; we had the best scientists, inventors... I know Argo is still out there in space and it makes me smile to know that my mom's there and some of our culture was preserved thanks to my dad's efforts to save us all but… I will always feel like a part of me is missing…
- I'm sorry if I made you remember bad things… - Cisco said, worried that his question triggered something in Kara.
- No, it's ok – Kara smiled – I like talking about Krypton, it brings me good memories too, besides to bad ones.
- It must've not been easy to see your planet exploding… - Lena said, remembering something Kara told her a while ago. – I'm so sorry you had to go through that
- Wait… Your planet…exploded? – Ray asked – And you saw it?
Oliver stared at Kara as she explained them what happened to her after she left her planet with Clark. He couldn't imagine going through something like this, and he had been through horrible stuff.
- Yes, and I spent 24 years stuck in the Phantom Zone, sleeping
- And when you got to Earth you were still a 13 year old girl? – Thea asked – That's… Insane.
- Yes. It was weird seeing Clark all grown and I was still a teenager… - She stared at them all and thought about it for a while – Ok… Ray.
- Shoot. – Ray smiled as he finished eating a donut
- What made you join the super hero life? I don't think I've ever heard this story.
- Yes, I never told anyone besides my Legends team…and team Arrow, because I actually started there…
- Really? – Lena asked, feeling really curious about his story.
- It's funny because I had this project, and I was trying to figure thing out when I met Felicity, Oliver's ex and former member of Team Arrow, and then I got Queen Industries and transformed it into Palmer Tech and Felicity ended up working with me, we dated, I tried to make my suit work, it was hell but I did it… Oh, I'm sorry – Ray said – The thing is when Star City got attacked by a bunch of super soldiers, I lost the love of my life and after that, I wanted to use the money I had to make sure I would be able to protect people if it ever happened again, so I started to work on Project Atom. It was a bit messy at first, but with the help of some friends here, I managed to make it work and I helped Team Arrow until, by accident, I shrank myself. But I was still feeling lost, back then Felicity chose to be with Oliver and I almost died and after I came back, I realized there was nothing significant about my life, I felt like I didn't make any difference until Rip Hunter showed up and offered a seat at the Wave Rider, to travel through time and save the world. That's when everything really made an impact on me. And here we are now…
- That's fascinating – Lena said, impressed – I felt something similar after I started working with Supergirl and the feeling got stronger after Kara told me everything. What's the point of having all the money in the world if we do nothing to help the world, right?
- Exactly – Ray nodded, rising his drink along with Lena's.
She smiled back at him, finishing her drink. She got up and went to the bar to get some more, being followed by Ray.
- Here, let me help – He said as he grabbed two of the bottles Lena held and she grabbed the other two.
- Thank you – She said, staring curiously at him
- You're welcome… So… How you got involved in the super hero business? I know, this is not the game, I just got curious…
- Well, when you're a Luthor and your brother tries to destroy the world and kill Superman, and you find out your mom is as evil and founds a project that wants to exterminate all aliens of your Earth and you don't want people thinking you are the same as them, you need to do something about it, so that's what I did. I changed the name of the family's company, tried to use it to do some good and then I started to work with Supergirl. Imagine my surprise knowing my favorite hero was my best friend…
- Oh, I know the feeling. But I was a bit harsh with Oliver.
- Oh, he mentioned that… - Lena said, noticing Ray's look of surprise.
- To be fair, everyone thought the vigilante was a crazy lunatic killer…
- And Oliver did help with that part, actually acting like a crazy person… - Lena completed it, laughing and making Ray laugh too.
- Yes. But I was surprised to learn about Oliver and the Team Arrow… In the end I understood it and my life became better, even with his enemies trying to destroy the city multiple times… It game me a sense of belonging, that I could actually be part of something that could change people's lives.
- Same for me – Lena said as they stared at each other.
- Wow, is really easy to talk to you – Ray said – I mean…
- I know – She smiled – I can relate to many things you said.
Lena stared with a mix of curiosity and surprise at Ray. She really felt like she could relate to his reasons to become someone who could do a lot for his city and help, to use their billionaire position to really help save the world and getting sucked into this world of super friends and finally finding their main reason to live. It was indeed easy to talk to Ray, she thought. She could feel his genuine excitement and how pure his heart really was.
- – I guess… We should go back – Lena said, feeling the vibe switching between them, blushing – to the game…
- Sure, let's go.
Thea sat on the couch, distracted from the game while staring at her phone and exchanging messages with Clark. She smiled, trying not to draw attention while everyone else was focused on the game.
"I'll get there before lunch" Clark wrote, making Thea smile even more.
"I can't wait" She wrote back. "Why again did you have to go to Metropolis? Did something happen?"
"Nothing serious, I just needed to come pick some things I needed and deal with some things… I explain when I get there."
"Ok. I'll join their game here, otherwise Cisco will take my phone away" – She laughed
"Ok" – Clark wrote with a winking emoji. "Have a good night, I'll see you tomorrow"
"You too." Thea wrote and turned off her phone.
- Ok, ok, I'm coming… Geez – Thea said
- Thank you – Cisco teased – Your turn lady…
- Guys, I'll take a break… I'll go for a walk – Sara said getting up
- I'll go too – Barry said also getting up – I forgot to search the perimeter, shee if everything is ok and…
- I already did that, Barry – Oliver said, finding Barry's behavior weird.
- Oh, but is always a good idea to check twice…see, I learned – Barry laughed and Sara stared at him, trying not to laugh.
- So… Let's go – Sara said.
Everyone kept staring at them as they left, and Cisco left a small laugh out.
- How cute… they think they fool us… US
- Smooth, Barry… - Caitlin commented, also laughing with everyone else.
Sara held Barry's hand as they walked together.
- I don't think you convinced them… - Sara laughed – They probably know by now.
- It's ok for me – Barry said as he gave a soft pull, bringing Sara closer, holding her by the waist – I'm done hiding.
- I guess me too – Sara said – I want to be able to kiss you whenever I want
- Couldn't agree more – He smiled, bringing his hand to her cheeks as his lips captured hers.
A few hours passed, Sara and Barry were already back and they played a few different games until everyone felt tired and went to their rooms.
Oliver tried his best to get some sleep, but couldn't. He kept thinking about what happened between Kara and him and how every time he thought about stoping by to talk to her, something happened that made it impossible. He didn't want to talk over the phone or via messages, he needed to talk to her face to face and now, he was trying to figure it out a good time for them to talk. He knew it was almost Christmas nad he had no idea how things would be like, if it would be weird and awkward of if they would have a happy ending, but he couldn't prolong this anymore.
He went to the kitchen and found Kara there, alone and having a glass of water. He felt anxiety taking over inside of him and walked a bit closer to her. She looked at him, put the glass on the sink and turned to fully face him.
- Can't sleep either? – She asked, feeling a bit nervous
- Yes. You?
- Yes.
They stared at each other in silcence for a few seconds until both of them spoke at the same time.
- I need to talk to you – She said
- We need to talk – He said
Oliver nodded with his head and Kara scratched hers.
- I can't stop thinking about what happened… - Oliver said – And… I was upstairs thinking and I can't keep pretending everything is fine, because it isn't. I can't do this anymore, I'm sorry. I've been completely honest to you about what I feel, about what I want and all I needed… All I still need is just for you to let me know how you feel and what you want. I don't have super powers, I can't read minds, and it all became so complicated when it should've been so simple, so I just wanted to tell you that. I'm sure about what I want and I want to know from you. When you're ready to tell me, you know where to find me, because I can't keep torturing myself like this…
- I…
Kara was about to say something when her phone rang. Alex name was on the screen and she picked it up. Alex asked her to stop quickly by at the DEO because they were having a small problem with a rogue alien. Kara told her she would be there in a second and when she turned to talk to Oliver, he was already gone. She change into Supergirl suit and flew away quicly.
The next day, around 6pm everything was almost ready for the big Christmas Eve party. Ray, Diggle and Oliver were helping prepare the drinks when Lena came in, with her hair up in a high ponytail, wearing a black sleeveless belted sheath dress and black high heels.
- How fancy! – Oliver teased
- Black is definitely your color – Ray said, finding it fascinating how her green eyes highlighted with the black smoked eye makeup and her outfit, it definitely brought a sensation of power.
- I do have the greatest company, I have to dress accorddly. – She teased back, making them all smile.
- Well, thanks for the compliment – Diggle teased.
- I'm serious guys – She said, greeting each one of them – This might be the first time I have an actual nice Christmas, so thanks for coming, it means a lot.
- Thanks for inviting us – Diggle said – I've been telling Oliver we needed to star hanging out more and not just when the world is about to end.
- Agreed- Ray said as they all laughed.
Thea finished getting ready in her room, feeling anxious as soon as she got a message from Clark, saying he was on his way. Thea left the room wearing a dark red, knee length, strapless bodycon dress, high black heels and her hair was in a messy asymmetrical bob with a thin black tiara. She went downstairs and started to feel goosebumps as she saw Clark greeting everyone. His eyes went to the stairs and his jaw almost dropped. Thea smiled and went to him, giving a soft kiss and a hug.
- You look stunning – He said, smiling back at her.
- You don't look so bad yourself – She teased.
- Can we talk alone? I have something for you – He said and smiled as she nodded and held his hand, guiding her through the house
- I know the perfect place – She told him, as she brought him to the garden.
It was the truth; they all needed a party like this after all the times they gathered around to save the world. It was refreshing for all of them to be just enjoying a good night with friends, drinks, food and music. Oliver and Diggle went to the living room while Ray and Lena finished a few more different drinks to bring the others.
Kara went downstairs distracted while Oliver noticed her coming and couldn't keep his eyes off of her. She had her hair all down in beautiful curls; she wore this cute halter knee lenght dark blue dress, leaving her back and shoulders bare. She had black ballerina flats on her feet and a tiny silver belt on her waist. She felt Oliver's eyes on her and blushed. She hugged everyone noticed Barry smiling in excitment. Lena and Ray came with more drinks and they all grabbed one.
- We have karaoke – Barry said in pure joy, making her laugh in excitement too
- Ok, that's really cool – Kara stared at Lena – Thank you for that – She smiled – We'll hit some high notes later, my friend – She fist bumped Barry, making everyone else laugh
- You're welcome – Lena said
Sara joined them with her hair up in a ponytail, wearing an off white jumpsuit and high white heels. Caitlin also joined as she came to the living room in black kitten heels, with a beige polo dress and her hair all up in a losen bun.
- Alex is here – Lena checked her phone, going to the entrance of the mansion to welcome Alex. Ray followed, offering to help with her bags.
Kara rushed to hug her sister as soon as she stepped inside and everyone else came to welcome her too.
- I'm so glad you're here – Kara said
- This party wouldn't be the same without Alex Danvers – Oliver teased as he joined them.
- I'm glad you know it, Queen – She teased back – I'm sorry for getting here so late, things at the DEO were just chaotic…
- Isn't J'onn coming? – Lena asked
- He told me to give you all a big hug, but he can't. He stayed there so I could come, I insisted for him to come here but there was no way, he had a call with the president and a bunch of burocracy I couldn't even try to understand, but he told me if he needes us, he would call.
- I'll have to give him his gift some other time then – Kara said a bit bummed.
Thea brought Clark to the beautifully decorated garden of the mansion so they could talk in private. Clark held her hand, giving a small pull, bringing her closer to him, giving her a soft kiss.
- I have something for you, I think you'll like it. – He said.
- Ok, I'm curious… I also have something for you, by the way – She smiled, kissing him back.
Clark grabbed a small black box and opened it. There was a small glass, with some blue liquid inside and Thea stared confused at it.
- Remember when I told you I would try to help you find a cure for your bloodlust? The last time it happened, Lena told me she knew someone in Metropolis that could maybe help with that.
- Yes…
- She knew this scientist and Sara saw his picture and recognized him from the League of Assassins. He had the answers we were looking for and Lena told me everything they found, so I went to Metropolis to meet him.
- Is this…? – Thea said, not quite sure if she could believe what Clark said
- Yes, this is the cure for your bloodlust.
- Oh my God, Clark! – Thea hugged Clark thight, feeling a mix of feelings. – I can't… I mean, I only got you a blue sweater…
- I'm sure I'll love it – Clark smiled
- Thank you! – Thea said as she kissed Clark.
She couldn't believe it. She wasn't used to people making her promises and delivering it the way Clark did. She opened the bottle and stared at it nervously. He held her free hand and squeezed it, offering her comfort and support. Thea closed her eyes and drank it.
It had a weird taste and she waited to see if she would have any reactions to it. Nothing happened, but she could feel that something inside of her was changing because she suddenly started to feel a bit more in peace, relaxed. She definitely didn't feel any trace of anger inside, it was like she had full control again.
- This is already the best Christmas ever! – Thea said
- I told you things would get better. I'm here for you, with you… - He said, hugging her by the waist.
Thea brought her lips closer to his once again, giving him a slow kiss. It felt like there was no one else there but the two of them.
Back inside everyone danced and laughed together. Barry and Sara decided to tell everyone they were together in the middle of a game, surprising no one.
- It's like you really think you could fool us – Cisco laughed – You two are no subtle.
- I really believed that – Sara laughed
- Sorry, that's my fault – Barry teased – I can't hide when I'm happy…
- No, you can't – Sara laughed along.
Kara tried to have a good time at the party, and she had some but deep down she knew it was going to be impossible unless she did one of the things she felt uncomfortable with: being vulnerable and telling Oliver everything she wanted to. He had a point earlier, she thought, this was torture and she couldn't leave things like this so she took a deep breath, grabbed a warm coat she left of the couch earlier and walked towards him.
- Kara I…
- Just come with me… Please – Kara said and Oliver nodded, following her.
Kara and Oliver walked down the garden, and passed by Thea and Clark kissing. They stopped and stared at each other.
- O…kay – Oliver said
- Just follow me – Kara said, smiling at the scene
Kara brought Oliver further away, down a trail of snow.
- I found this place earlier… It's like a cabin on the grounds of the mansion. I thought someone lived here but Lena told me that's just some cozy place, part of the mansion…
At the end of the trail there was a small wooden cabin, also decorated for Christmas. It looked really cozy and they went inside. There was a small living room with a fireplace, a couch, TV and dark red carpet on the floor, a bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom.
- At least here there's no one people can interrupt us…
- That's a good idea – Oliver gave her a soft smile.
Kara could hear Oliver's heart beating a bit faster. She took off her coat since it was warm inside the cabin and drop it on a chair next to her.
- I really hate feeling vulnerable – She started as she nervously stared at the ground. – I get really uncomfortable and I never know how to deal with that. I won't try to justify anything, just know that, I just… I had complicated feelings that I had no idea how to deal with, what to do with them…
Kara thought for a moment. She really did hate being vulnerable and that was exactly how she felt at the moment. She brought her eyes to stare at Oliver's eyes, hearing his heartbeat increasing.
- I had everything I wanted back in Krypton, a great family, a great life, and friends…The moment I felt I was happy, it was all taken from me just like that. I still remember looking back and watching the entire planet exploding, knowing my mom and dad were there. Everything I knew was gone in a second and I was alone in space because I couldn't even see my cousin's ship or where it went. Then it all blacked out.
Oliver listened to every word Kara was telling him, and he couldn't even try to imagine what that was like. He kept listening.
- The Danvers, they were wonderful to me, and it was a rough start with Alex, but with time we got closer and got along. But the thing is, before Crisis, I had a different past. I lost my first high school crush there, he knew about me and didn't tell anyone. He never told me a word about it. Crisis changed it, but I still lost him but in a different way. He was alive but I understood my destiny was somewhere else, so I accepted it and moved on. As an adult, I struggled because as much as I tried to meet someone, it was always complicated… I guess you can understand what I mean…
- Yes. – Oliver said – I do.
- I spent many years wondering if I could have it all, you know? Have all of these powers, have a job, date and meet new people and when I became Supergirl things got even more complicated because I was sure that it was my true destiny, that as an alien, I shouldn't worry about stuff that was meant for humans. But I saw Clark with Lois, his former girlfriend, and I saw him being this incredible journalist, a great boyfriend and Superman. I thought that maybe I could have it all.
Kara stopped and Oliver could notice she was trying to avoid the tears that were almost falling. He could see her expression changing, she looked deeply hurt, and he had never seen Kara like this.
- I tried to. I met someone. But I had to send him away in a pod, Rao knows where, so he could survive because the air became toxic for him…
- The Daxamite invasion… - Oliver said – The one you told me about how you didn't want to, but you had to so your Earth could survive and make all Daxamites go away.
- Yes. What I didn't tell you was that I had a boyfriend and… He was a Daxamite.
Oliver stared at Kara, connecting the dots. He remembered when she told him about it, how the Queen of Daxam tried to conquer her Earth.
- I sent him away to save his life and – Kara wiped the tears from her cheeks – that was the time I felt the saddest, like I couldn't have the luxury of trying to have a normal life because I wasn't human, so I shouldn't waste my time with human things. I focused only on being Supergirl because Kara Danvers for me at that time sucked. I felt guilty for sending him away, I had no idea if he survived and I had a breakdown. And then it hit me: I couldn't be hapy like everyone else, because everytime I did, something happened to remind me I was supposed to focus on being Supergirl. Kara Danvers was someone I wanted to run away from, lock inside a box and throw the key away.
Oliver reached for her hands, squeezing it. Kara lowered her head and took a deep breath, recomposing. She stared at him again
- When I saw him again, I felt so happy, he was alive and well, but he was acting different, cold. He told me he went to the 31st century and married someone else.
- I'm sorry you had to go through all of that, Kara
- Again, I'm not justifying anything… - She gave him a weak smile - I just became used to lose people in my life, to grieve. I couldn't allow myself to love anyone because it was always faded to end and I honestly couldn't take it anymore. I felt alone and abandoned time and time again, it really hurt trying to have a normal life so I decided I would stop trying and accept my destiny. – She took two steps closer to him and crossed her arms – And then, we became closer…and Crisis happened.
Kara was practically grabbing her heart and putting it into his hands. She had never been so blunt about her feelings before, and she wasn't enjoying how that felt.
Oliver remembered that right after the Earth X invasion on Earth 1, Oliver and Kara started to hang out more, she would stop by his Earth to go grab something to eat with him and Diggle and then she would spend hours talking to Oliver afterwards before she had to go home, the Crisis they faced together and how he almost died and it scared the hell out of her, so much, they became even closer until their first night together happened.
- I was terrified of going through anything like that again – Kara said – I remember thinking that even if I felt something so strong, I had to be careful, because our lives were chaotic and there was no way we could make things work… I was so mad at you for being so stubborn and almost dying that night and you took me by surprise again. I'll never forget that night, Oliver.
- Neither will I – Oliver said
- I know… I know that now.
She came all this way, so now she was going to pour her heart out completely, even if it made her feel so much worse being this vulnerable, it felt like she was standing naked in public.
- When I woke up and saw you had left, I admit I felt a bit sad. – Oliver said – I worried I did something wrong…When I saw your note, I understood that you had responsibilities and we could maybe figure things out later, but I was still feeling nervous to see you again.
- I tried to. It took a lot for me to feel like I should risk it and try again, try to be happy and have it all, try to help the world and love again… I went to talk to you and I saw Susan there, kissing you… I felt my heart broken in so many pieces, but I understood that it was bigger than that. I won't lie, I was a bit jealous of her but that wasn't the main thing for me. That just reminded me that we were on the same boat, with difficult busy and important lives, lives that didn't leave room for anything else, it reminded me that I was Supergirl and my life was about that and you were the Green Arrow and you had responsibilities too. I saw how long it took for us to be able to even talk after that night and I didn't feel like I could go through all the heartbreak again, it's too hard to have everything in your hands and need to let it go.
Oliver's mind suddenly cleared and he understood. He thought about what Kara told him, knowing he was way too familiar with it, with that feeling. He remembered he often wondered if he was meant to be alone forever, because the life he had clearly indicated that yes, he would be.
- I was scared of losing you too, so the moment I saw Susan throwing herself at you, I thought for a second how it would be cool to be human, have no responsibilities and just live my life and I realized I wouldn' trade what I have for anything. I needed to focus on that.
- I would never ask you to stop saving the world and have a normal life, please just know that – Oliver said as he reached for one of her hands
- I know. – She gave him a soft smile – I know you get it… I know you know how it feels like. How alone you felt for so many years and after you broke up with Felicity… That's why it took me so long to admit I was jealous, because it wasn't about that. And that's why I froze when you asked me how I felt.
- You were scared of admitting it just to have it taken from you right away because once it happens the first time, we get used to it, and we wait for it to happen again and again.
Kara nodded with her head, wiping a few tears from her eyes.
- It would be "stuck in the Phantom Zone, alone, with no hope at all" all over again. Every time I opened up to someone, I lost them… I just couldn't lose you too.
Oliver closed the space between them, staring deeply into her eyes, his hand still holding hers.
- First of all, Kara Danvers is the best and my favorite person, I want that to be very clear.
- My sister told me the same thing…
- She's wise. – He said, making her smile - I'm so sorry if it seemed like I was pressuring you… - Oliver said as he hugged her tight and stared deeply into her eyes. – I wasn't, I swear. I wanted you to know my feelings for you were and they still are real. That I was…I am in love with you and no one else, I wanted to dive deep within this with you, but I wanted it to be your decision, that's why I asked you. I was afraid that what happened with Susan would make you decide to go away and I didn't want you to think what we had meant nothing, because it did. It killed me inside to think that because of her, I could've hurt you somehow because that's the last thing I would ever do.
Kara tried to hold back a few more tears, but failing to. She felt Oliver hugging her tight as he caressed her hair.
- I know you felt like everyone left you, how alone this life we have is… I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. – He caressed her cheeks, feeling like his heart would jump out of his chest – And I assure you, you won't lose me anytime soon, I will do anything in my power to stay, all you have to do is ask.
- Stay – She whispered, hearing his heartbeat and knowing hers weren't any different. She held his hand thight, bringing him with her near the couch – Because I'm in love with you too, I was just too scared to admit it and have you taken away from me too.
She finally said it.
And it felt good, she thought. She felt Oliver hugging her by the waist, bringing her body closer to his as he slowly kissed her, making a trail to the base of her ear.
- I'll stay as long as you want me to – He whispered, feeling her fingers on his hair in the back of his neck, guiding his lips back to hers.
Oliver felt pure joy inside as they kissed in a slow pace, taking their time. There was no rush and he felt like he could stay like this with her forever. She sat down, bringing him with her as she adjusted her back on the couch, his body slowly covering hers. One of his hands went to her legs, caressing it slowly up to the edge of her dress.
- You look gorgeous in this dress – Oliver said as their foreheads touched. – I'm sorry I didn't say it sooner.
- Its ok – She smiled, caressing his cheeks – I'm glad you liked it She gave him a soft kiss, one of her hands going to his back and the other to the back of his neck - You look stunning too.
A firework show started in the neighborhood and it could be seen from the cabin's window. Oliver embraced Kara by her waist as they stared outside. Kara turned to stare at Oliver, using her right hand to caress his cheek.
- Merry Christmas
- Merry Christmas – He whispered back
Oliver kissed her cheeks, down to her neck, next to her ear, feeling her hands on his back, holding thight on him.
- It's a shame I'll have to rip this dress out of you, Girl of Steel– He whispered, feeling lost in her dar blue eyes as his hands went higher to her tights.
- I'm sorry, but I'll have to do the same, Emerald Archer – She smiled, grabbing his jacket and helping him out of him, throwing it away.
- I love you – He whispered, catching her by surprise.
Kara stared back at him as she noticed Oliver's apprehensive look. She could feel his heart almost jumping from his chest and smiled, her free hand caressing his cheeks, feeling his short bear. She grabbed his shirt and helped him get rid of it too.
- I've never opened up t someone like this, but you… You make me feel safe, like I can just be myself around you and I know everything will be ok. I love you too.
Oliver's lips crashed hers in a passionate slow kiss, his hips pressing agains hers at the same pace. There was no rush this time around, Oliver felt like exploring every single inch of her body like there was no tomorrow and there was only the two of them left in the world. Her dress flew across the room the moment he helped her take it off, and their bodies came closer once again. Oliver held the back of her neck, his fingers messing with her soft hair while he held her by the waist with his free hand, caressing her belly, making her shiver as he deepened the kiss, using his tongue against hers.
Oliver slowly broke the kiss apart, getting up and reaching for her hand. She grabbed it and he helped her get up, pulling her into his embrace. He kissed her again, guiding her toward the bedroom as they stumbled in some of the furniture on their way there. They reached the edge of the bed and Oliver held her waist strongly, helping her sit. He guided her as she crawled backwards until her head reached the pillows. He lay above her, their legs intertwined while he kissed her neck, sliding slowly down her body. His lips made a trail from her shoulders, to her cleavage, down her chest and belly, and he smiled as he saw her shiver. Her hands went to his hair, messing and holding it tight and her hips moved at a slow pace as he did wonders to her, taking her breath away.
Oliver loved how she responded to him every time he touched; kissed, caressed her, her voice was pure music to his ears, turning him even more on. She had a wild side and endless stamina that he loved to bring it to the surface when they were together like this. He devoured her, taking his time to enjoy every second, going slowly up her body, giving her many kisses as he could. His hand went up her tights giving her sensations she would dream about for a long time, she knew it. He brought her high many times and she felt like her skin would catch fire anytime now. Her hand slid down his body, giving him new sensations and he couldn't hold back anymore, taking her there as they kissed passionately.
Oliver lay by her side as he rested her head on his chest, laying o her side, her left leg intertwined with his legs. He caressed her hair, catching his breath and Kara smiled. Her legs slowly rubbed on his and Oliver could still feel the warmth of her whole body. He never met anyone like her and he felt glad and lucky to be the one she chose to be with. He knew he would be sore later, but he couldn't care less because Kara made it all worth it. He thought about everything she had told him, he knew it took a lot for her to open up like this.
- I don't like being vulnerable either… - He said, making her stare at him, curious – It makes me scared… - He turned to his side, facing her - Feelings are scary, actually.
- Yes, they are – She smiled giving him a soft kiss on his shoulder while her hand caressed the muscles of his abs.
- But when we have the right person with us, it's all worth it. – Oliver stared into her eyes, feeling as if he could see her soul.
Kara gave him a soft push, making his back rest against the mattres. She slid her leg over his hips and he grabbed it, bringing her fully over him. Her legs rested around his hips as her upper body lay fully covering his. She gave a small peck on his neck, feeling his hands up and down her legs. He was still catching his breath but he could feel her skin burning for him.
- I'm here for you – He said as she playfully bit the tip of his ear – Always
- I love you – She whispered back to him as she followed his rhythm in a perfect sync, feeling everything at once in an overwhelming way, kissing him passionately.
Oliver could hear her between their kiss, like a perfect song invading his ears, going straight to his heart. He couldn't get enough of it. She kissed down his neck and he could hear her sweet voice calling for him in a way he knew it would mess with his dreams for a long time, and he loved it.
- I love you – He said kissing her back, intending to spend the rest of the night loving her as she deserved to be loved.
.
It was Christmas morning and the whole Mansion was silent. Oliver and Kara got inside the mansion trying their best not to make any noise and managed to get to their rooms safely. Oliver gave her a kiss and she got inside her room, laughing as they acted sneaky. Oliver went to his room and closed the door behind him.
Mission accomplished, they came back without waking anyone up.

Lena tried to open her eyes slowly, feeling like a truck ran over her. A strong headache came over her and she felt like she would throw up from the pain. She looked around, the Sun was coming through the window and it was a beautiful view if it wasn't for her pain. She wonder why she didn't remember anything from after the Merry Christmas they all shouted at midnight and slowly realized she wasn't alone. She turned slowly to her side, grabbed the sheets and pulled it.
- OH MY GOD! – She yelled.
Ray Palmer jumped in scare and the second he stared at her, he froze.
- Oh… oh My… God!

NOTES 2: This story continues on Elseworlds Collection - chapter 8 and concludes on The Scarlet Canary collection chapter 16.
NOTES 3: I read all ur comments, reviews, thanks a lot for that, it really helps inspiring me and I try my best to reply to u all, but since not all sites I post my stories allows me to reply right away, sometimes I forget to mention it in Notes.
One thing I remember, that someone asked and I can reply now: All collections are about short stories, that will end at that same chapter, only when I feel like there's more stuff to be told, I write them in separate parts (like now) or I do some sequel in later chapters, but it's not something I do a lot because I'm not able to write long stories with multiple chapters right now so I'm coming back to the short story mode (it's hard to keep It really short, but I try my best lol).
