General Hospital - Kevin's Office
Kevin sat at his desk while Charles was sitting in the chair on the other side of the desk.
"Well I'm happy to say that I still feel pretty certain Victor didn't brainwash you," Kevin said, "I think we can move these appointments further apart. But only if you're comfortable with it."
"That's great news," Charles said, somewhat relieved.
"You don't sound so certain about that," Kevin replied.
"I'm sorry, I have a lot of things on my mind," Charles said.
"I wondered," Kevin said, "You have seemed a little preoccupied today. You know we can use these sessions to discuss anything you like."
"I wouldn't know where to start," Charles said.
"Why don't we start with something along the lines of have you been able to spend time with your grandchildren," Kevin said.
Charles smiled, "I've taken them on various outings. Alyssa to the ballet, a baseball game with the twins, a trip to the zoo with Kelsey. The kids kicked Kellie and Jason out of the house one night since I really didn't want to use the safe house as my house for the kids to come over."
"That makes senses" Kevin asked, "So have you given thought to what you might want to do next are far as your living situation?
"Some maybe, but it's a bit unclear at the moment," Charles said, "I could always move into the metro court until I decide what I want to do or look for an apartment."
"I doubt there's any rush if you wanted to take your time moving out of the safe house," Kevin said.
"There's not," Charles said, "It's just not home. The only place that's felt like home is…"
Charles stopped talking.
"There's no judgment here," Kevin encouraged Charles to continue, "The only place that's felt like home is…"
"The Quartermaines with Monica," Charles said, "When we've been able to spend time together."
"You and Monica had just gotten engaged before you were shot," Kevin said, "You had been living at the Quartermaines before going to the island with Monica to look after your grandkids. To feel like that's home seems perfectly reasonable to me."
"It doesn't change the situation," Charles said, "I don't want Monica to feel rushed after everything that's happened."
"What about what Monica wants?" Kevin asked, "Have you considering asking her what she wants?"
"We agreed to take things slow, not rush back into things," Charles said, "Although it's felt muddled when I spent the night at Monica's unintentionally. We fell asleep watching old movies."
"Have you and Monica discussed why that might have happened?" Kevin asked.
Charles shook his head.
"It sounds like maybe things are moving faster than you expected with Monica," Kevin said, "And maybe the two of you should have a discussion about that."
"Maybe," Charles said, still wanting to give it some thought.
After the appointment was finished and Charles left, he was waiting at the elevator at to leave when he felt a tug at his side.
He looked down to see Kelsey. Kellie was just a few steps behind her.
"Hi Grandpa Charlie," Kelsey said.
"Well hello, Miss Kelsey," Charles said, kneeling down to Kelsey's level, "This is a wonderful surprise."
"Did you have a see the doctor?" Kelsey asked, "I had to."
"I did," Charles said.
"Mommy said I could have ice cream after the doctor," Kelsey said, "She can buy you ice cream too. Right, Mommy?"
"You are more than welcome to join us for ice cream," Kellie said.
"With whip cream and sprinkles?" Charles asked Kelsey.
