Ren was still on the couch when Kyoko entered the room his mind on too many things to just focus on anything in particular.
"Ren?" Kyoko asked stepping out of the guest room.
"Are you okay Kyoko? Do you need help?" He asked, once he saw her, her hair still damp from the shower and wearing sweats and a T-shirt he couldn't think of all the horrible thoughts from earlier. She looked like this was her home, right where she belonged.
"I'm fine, but…." she said, her head down looking at the floor. She knew she needed to tell him, it would be much worse if he found out from somewhere else and it's not like she could keep working with Sho a secret. "I need to talk to you. It's important, and I don't want you to think that I'm keeping secrets from you, and I know you are going to be upset, maybe at me, or maybe just about the situation, or maybe at me and the situation, but it's not like I knew, and…."
"Kyoko, slow down. I don't even think you took a breath. Now come here and let talk about whatever you want." Ren said. He tried not to show anything on his face, but he felt a releasing of the grip that was on his stomach when he knew she was going to be upfront about everything.
Kyoko looked at Ren, tears were starting to well in her eyes, but she held them back. She walked over to Ren and sat down beside him, still looking down at the floor wrenching her hands together in nervousness and told him everything from start to finish of her day, only leaving out the parts where she and Sho had any physical contact. She wasn't happy about it, and she knew that Ren would be furious. There were many times he showed her his jealous nature and didn't want to bring anymore out than whatever he was feeling at the moment.
She felt arms wrap around her and she melted into them, she felt safe and happy in Rens arms.
"Are you angry at me?" she asked into his shirt.
"No, I'm glad you told me. But, will you be okay seeing Fuwa every day?" Ren asked. He wondered if he could get Murasame to keep an eye on her for him, though he felt like a bug even thinking of having someone spy on her. Also, he wouldn't know how to go about asking without looking like a jealous boyfriend, and they weren't even together. He needed to trust her but he could feel Koun in the back of his head screaming that she was theirs and they were going to lose her.
"I've thought about it and I'll be fine. He is just someone I've got to work with. I won't see him as Sho Fuwa my childhood friend, now an enemy. I will see him as my fellow costar and nothing more." She answered with resolve.
Ren liked hearing that but knew that it was a lot harder than she thought it would be, especially for someone like her who always had emotions bubbling up to the surface. Though when she was on set and in role, she had always emerged in her character so there was hope if there wasn't much off set engagement.
They sat like that in silence for a few minutes before Kyoko pulled away. "I need to call Director Muto to let him know I'm fine and learn when and where we will be meeting tomorrow." She said reaching for her bag.
"Ummmm, Kyoko." Ren wondered what to tell her about her phone, he didn't want to tell her that he had answered a call from Sho and got so angry that he destroyed it. "Your bag fell and ummmm, I think it broke your phone."
Kyoko reached into her bag and found the familiar pink phone. The top and bottom was hardly attached anymore, and the screen was shattered. "Oh! I wonder if it was from the elevator accident?" Kyoko asked out loud which Ren let out a breath of relief thinking she wouldn't buy the excuse.
"LME can have you a new one by the end of the day today, actually, I'll get you one myself." he told her, guilt pricking the back of his neck. "I'll ask Yashiro to pick you up one. That thing was ancient anyways. We will get you a new Samsung, the latest." Ren told her taking the broken phone out of her hands worried the broken glass and plastic would cut her hands.
Kyoko's face fell, "but, that phone holds so many memories."
Ren heard a knock on his door and answered it, Yashiro stood outside in the hallway holding a paper bag and had a concerned look on his face. "How is she?" he asked as he stepped into the apartment.
"She fell asleep, today took a major toll on her, physically and emotionally." He told Yashiro.
"Here is the phone you asked for. I also got a bubble gum pink case for it. It should be ready to use when she wakes up." He said handing the bag to Ren.
"Thanks."
"What happened to her phone by the way?" Yashiro asked, and Ren ignored the question
"Yashiro? What would you think about staying in Tokyo and being Kyoko's manager while I'm away?" Ren asked.
"If that's what you want me to do Ren I'll do it, but are you sure President Takarada will agree?"
"What about me?" Kyoko asked stepping out of the bedroom. "Why don't you ask me? Mr. Yashiro, you know I think you are the world's greatest manager, but I think you need to be with Mr. Tsuruga, not me. He's the one that's going to be overseas. Not me."
Both Ren and Yashiro turned to see Kyoko, her face looked fallen, her eyes were swollen and bloodshot from the crying earlier. Rens hands itched to go over and soothe her but stopped himself. Even though Yashiro wouldn't think twice about it, he knew Kyoko would feel uncomfortable.
Kyoko and Ren were staring at each other not saying anything and Yashiro broke the silence "Here Kyoko, it's your new phone. I've made sure that all your old contacts are on this. Thank goodness for the cloud." Yashiro said handing her the bag.
"Thank you, Mr. Yashiro." Kyoko said, taking the bag and giving him a bow of gratitude. "I'm going to go and call Director Muto before it gets too late." She said and went back into the bedroom.
She hated that Ren was trying to talk Mr. Yashiro into becoming her manager while he was away. To her it felt like he was trying to leave a spy as if he didn't trust her. She could feel the tears burning behind her eyes again and she tried to steel herself. She already knew she looked like a disaster and if she had to film tomorrow, she didn't want to look like a puffer fish.
Opening the bag she pulled out her new phone and gave a small smile to the bubble gum pink case that was exactly the same color as her Love Me uniform. She wondered if that was Ren's or Mr. Yashiro's idea.
Before she could even go to the contacts the phone started to vibrate and 'Unknown Number' flashed across the screen. She knew who it was and swiped the red button to the left to send it to voice mail and opened her contacts to call the Director.
"Director Muto? This is Kyoko Mogami. I'm terribly sorry about today." She said when he answered.
'Miss. Mogami, are you okay? You didn't injure yourself, did you? Your agency called and asked that we give you a few days to recover.' the director asked. Kyoko could hear the worry in his voice.
"Yes sir, I'm fine. I don't need a few days, I didn't get hurt so I'll be able to make it in tomorrow." She told him.
'Oh. OH! That's great Miss Mogami, I'll get the details emailed to you of the time and place. We changed our original meeting place due to the unfortunate accident that happened to you and Mr. Fuwa.' The excited voice on the phone said.
"I appreciate that Director Muto. I'm excited to be part of your production and will see you tomorrow." Kyoko said and hung up.
Kyoko fell back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. Unfortunate accident huh, you have no idea how unfortunate today was. She said remembering all the details and worried about the future, and if she could just see Sho as a costar that she had to work with. She still couldn't stand him and when she would see him she would get upset thinking about how he used her. She reached up and grabbed an invisible star bringing it to her chest. "I'm Kyoko Mogami, I will get through this and become a better actress when I've succeeded."
