"There have been many occasions for celebrations to happen for the Enchanted Kingdom to that of Eternia. Whether it was the vanquishing of a dangerous monster or the birth of a future heir, it was always a reason to celebrate the announcement of letting everyone learn about what would be happening. Things changed when Legacy Day arrived and became filled with confusion and disruption after Raven denied following her destiny of becoming the next Evil Queen potentially causing people to question tradition. This time it will be different because the next celebration will be held in Eternos where security will be monitoring anything that will keep any signs of criminal activity. Thronecoming, a day when the princes and princesses of Ever After High would make their floats to represent their stories to get a second chance at writing their names in the storybook of legends. It was vital since he would be seeing Adam write his name in the book and accept his duty as king of Eternos. Everything needed to be perfect for the event, since it was for the safety of both kingdoms."
Morning-Eternos
There was much work happening in the city and its people working on the decorations for both their home to that of the Enchanted Kingdom. At the center of the town was a podium being built where the children would be at the center of everyone's attention, along with an Eternian helping the workers with how the celebration would happen.
"Estimation shows all items are placed in proper areas. Lights are operational, and decorations are set on designated walls. Preparations, accomplished."
The Thronecoming's day manager was being handled by it was Man-E-Faces, one of the heroic warriors from the royal guards and the man who could change his face to give him an edge in battle. One of his hobbies was performing on stage to entertain the audience with his performances. He had one of his robotic faces which was calculative and logical and was great for handling problems that nobody could handle.
"It's incredible how you managed to get everything ready in the nick of time. Her Majesty Snow White will adore the decorations, but will it be possible to allow the children's floats to come into Eternos safely?"
One of the helpers asked as it was one of the seven dwarves, Doc. Who had been asked by the queen to assist in checking the progress of everything being set up in Eternos since it was the first time they were doing it in another kingdom. Just the head dwarf asked his Eternian partner to make everything perfect for Thronecoming, the question made Man-E-Face's change into a circular rotation to show a monstrous face that scared Doc as well as the assistance he had with him.
"Do you doubt my work, little man? Do you doubt my creative talents and craftsmanship?!"
He shouted in an aggressive tone as he made snarls and showed his razor-sharp fangs to attempt to scare the dwarf. Most of the workers pass out from Man-E-Faces monster face, despite being petrified of the look. The Eternian's face soon spun around again to show his normal face and laughing at how he was able to believe he was about to get angry with them.
"Apologies. I couldn't help myself, but more importantly, I've been in charge of every festivity that has happened in Eternos after we took down the forces of evil. So you have nothing to worry about."
Assuring Doc and the others about making sure that Thronecoming would come underway along with that both kingdoms' children would be able to sign their names without any interference. Feeling relieved at his response to that of smiling at the joke he played on them as they continued getting things ready for the event. Meanwhile, it was being overseen by King Randor and Queen Marlena who were observing the construction of the celebration.
"I miss these types of gatherings. Remember the first one we attended? I was just a simple explorer who arrived at your coronation to become captain of the royal guard. When you first saw me you thought I was a spy."
Marlena remembered a memory of how the two first met when she was new to Eternia and her surroundings since she traveled across the stars. The King started to recall it as if it were yesterday, he had noticed her trying to steal food from the tables and avoiding being taken in by security. He was the only one who was able to catch her and handle the devices she had on to ward off enemy combatants.
"No, I didn't. I thought you were someone that nobody invited, but sure enough, you changed my life and how I handled things. Along keeping my emotions in check."
Responding that he was brash and hard-headed when it came to giving up as well as not giving up when it involved him fighting for Eternia and its people. With that being said the two enjoyed the sight of everything coming their way and preparing for the event, Marlena could tell that her husband wasn't satisfied with how they were having it.
"And you're still upset about how Ever After High and their kingdom are making the children follow their stories thoroughly. Yes?"
She asked him how Randor had been having trouble sleeping night after night with what he saw on Legacy Day. His son and nephew getting caught in one girl's drama to that of losing another family member to the same evil he believed he'd ended years ago. While the school had kept things in check to keep an eye on its students, the headmaster was the one who forced them to follow their destinies to the letter which left them to rebel in a hostile manner.
"I had Duncan station there to help train them. I had my son try to befriend Keldor, I even promised his father I'd look after him as if he was my own. But I failed, I lost him."
He explained that with all his power and aid from Eternos to the assistance of the Enchanted Kingdom. None of them were able to prevent Keldor from learning about the secrets of havoc to become Skeletor, it made him think of many thoughts if he would have to make Adam fight him if they signed the books. To have his own family tear themselves apart again after failing to save his brother from being manipulated by the power of havoc.
"We did what we could for Keldor. While we may have failed to change him, he has to be the one to change who he'll be in the future. Whether he has havoc in him or not."
She responded to Randor by letting Keldor find his path this was the part of his story that he'd have to figure out. While his wife was right that he couldn't be in control of his life and force him to do the right thing, the only thing he could do was allow his nephew to make his own path. With that being handled, the couple saw a guard coming through the front doors to alert them of the arrival of Headmaster Grimm wanting to meet the royal couple.
"King Randor. Queen Marlena, it's a pleasure to see you two again under better circumstances since we will be holding Thronecoming here in Eternos."
He greeted them with respect since after the last time he had visited the Eternian family, they weren't fond of his methods of deceiving the children that they'd vanish into thin air if they didn't follow their stories. Since then he has been ordered by his queen to meet several kingdoms of Eternian to learn about their culture of how their stories were made without the need to force them to write their names in a book.
"Likewise Headmaster Grimm. More to the point it's a rare occasion for us to host an important event for both our lands. Especially how will be seeing the writing of the Storybook of Legends right in of us as well as the rest of Eternos."
Marlena responded to Milton with what he's seen from Eternia and how their stories are made, he would take things lightly and allow the children to write their names in the book without being afraid. Responding to Her Majesty with a firm nod that he had understood what they wanted to teach him about how the students will choose their destiny by themselves.
"Correct you are. It's also important that this will be the second time that the Storybook of Legends will be shown to the public. We've taken extra measures to not let be taken by anyone to that of having the best mystical security to keep things in check."
Grimm brought up how he was going to assist in making Thronecoming safe for everyone to watch the event. Marlena looked at how Randor was remaining quiet during the conversation since he didn't know if he could trust Grimm, but for the sake of the children, he allowed himself to not act hostile toward the headmaster and believed in him aiding with the preparations.
"We thank you for the extra protection for what will be happening. Hopefully, with us sharing the tradition. It will be a sign for the rest of Eternia's people that both worlds can come as one."
Randor responded with a positive attitude that will be a sign to everyone that one small mistake can be forgotten with the collaboration of an event that would be seen from across the world. When he heard the change of tone from King Randor, it felt like a weight had been lifted off his back from what happened on Legacy Day. With that being handled, everything can go underway for the students to fulfill their destinies and write their names in the book that would help continue the future of both their kingdoms. The one obstacle that would be an issue is Raven Queen who seems to write her own destiny, hopefully, her future enemy Apple White can convince her before it's too late.
Later-Ever After High
It was a busy day at the school with preparations going underway and everyone working on their floats due to the things that were required for Thronecoming. First, the students would get a new set of clothing that would represent their stories and themselves to the people. The second is picking a king and queen that would celebrate the party together, finally, everyone would be preparing to write their names in the Storybook since several students weren't able to write their names in the book after the incident from Legacy Day.
"Why are these things so damn breakable?!"
A voice breaking the concentration of everyone's work on their individual floats as it came from Krass, who was working on representing Eternia's headstrong hero who can smash through anything with his head. The boy was having trouble with setting it up since he had broken half of the supplies he had with his bare hands by accident.
"Would like some help?"
Someone interested in helping Krass as it was Cedar Wood who had already finished her float on being like her dad and telling lies to everyone that comes her way. He felt embarrassed by the offer but accepted it since this would be the first time a crowd of people would be cheering him on as a future hero for Eternia.
"You've been handling the tools aggressively and breaking them every time you tried to screw in a bolt."
She explained in a truthful since Cedar's curse forced her to tell the truth whether it would be helpful or hurtful. Nervous about what Krass's response would be, he agreed that his immense strength was too much for the small instruments to be used by him. Requested her assistance, Cedar nodded with a smile as she helped him work on his float. Just as they started to work together on building his float, they were passed by Adam and Raven who were walking together and discussing how Thronecoming works since it'll be his first time as well as his friends.
"While it is a bigger and flashier Legacy Day for everyone to meet and greet. It is also a chance for everyone to sign their name in the book again, meaning that everyone will be pressuring me to sign it after I attempt to convince everyone I'm not interested in it."
Raven explained what would happen since they'd be having Thronecoming in Eternos with his parents watching the event. Adam could tell that despite knowing what she wanted to do and being around people who accepted it, there were several who wanted her to become the new evil queen. The prince was feeling the same since his destiny seemed to have been given to him when he discovered the sword and became the champion of Grayskull.
"I don't think that much as of lately since everyone has been questioning their destinies. We already have Ashlynn gone rebel, and several students gone to the havoc side. What is also surprising is Teela questioning her story after that Scareglow incident."
He listed how despite Raven thinking that she'd be the topic of everyone's mind due to her refusing the storybook of legends again. There was more happening behind the scenes that seemed more urgent than Raven not being the new face of evil. While she wanted to figure out what was happening with the future of the captain of the royal guards, they arrived at Apple White's float which showed her lying underneath a custom-made tree with an apple floating above her head to represent it being the one that puts her into eternal rest.
"Nice float Apple, it's totally off the page."
She complimented the future queen of the enchanted kingdom that Apple had put much heart and love into the float she'd be riding into Eternos's streets. This meant Apple would have to make it special and dazzle with decorations and beauty which she's representing.
"Thanks, Raven! It's got the apple tree that you poison me from! Or, might poison me from."
Responding with optimism that despite what Raven did on Legacy Day made her upset that it affected her getting a Happily Ever After. Hearing made the purple-haired girl groan at her roommate's response despite the numerous attempts to convince her friend that she didn't want to be evil, Apple was in self-doubt that Raven would ignore her responsibility in being a part of her story. Doing her best to not get upset with Apple, her friend was able to notice it and try to calm herself before she'd let out a hex on everyone.
"It's okay, Raven. You'll come around, I just know it."
Apple spoke out that it was alright and that it was a bad choice of words to say, it would eventually happen sooner or later. While Apple didn't intentionally mean to make Raven upset, Adam saw the anger building up to the point where she stopped herself from letting out a spell that would ruin everyone's hard work. The best thing that she could do was explain it to her in words that grab the daughter of Snow White's attention.
"I have tried to explain this to you every way I know how! I wanna write my own destiny. And to be honest. when it comes to this. I think you're being selfish."
She admitted to how her roommate was acting which caused everyone to be speechless at what Raven had proclaimed. Adam along with the Eternian students didn't know how to respond since it was secretly the truth that Apple had been trying to convince Raven to accept her future. However, it didn't do well for Apple since she was confused by the comment about being selfish since she's always been giving to everyone and kindhearted to people who needed a smile in her life.
"You think I'm being selfish?"
Apple asked in a confused tone how she couldn't be selfish due to how kindhearted she was toward her peers and teachers. Adam wanted to try and make peace among the girls but was given a glare by Raven since he didn't have a say in the matter.
"Don't try to defend her Adam. All she cares about is her own Happily Ever After. Everyone knows that royals seem to have the best lives, while rebels on the other hand. Get the short end and either become villains or be forced to harm people even though we're good people."
Announcing to everyone the truth between royals and rebels which no one wanted to admit since it was real that most of the rebels would be viewed as the villains of their counterpart's stories. With that being said, Apple's expression changed from sincere to serious since the last thing she'd want from Raven was to argue. Yet despite how the conversation was going, it was inevitable this would happen.
"You know, because you didn't sign the book, all of our stories could go poof. We could all go poof!"
"Yeah, but we didn't!"
The two argued back and forth on what the outcome would be if they didn't accept their stories. Everyone stared in silence at how the two bickered as if they were becoming like their mothers and already becoming enemies, it left a bitter feeling in Apple's heart as she decided to leave.
"Raven, I don't want you to sign the book for me. I want you to sign it so that nothing bad happens to the people that I love, including you."
She said along brought up that while Raven may not want to sign the book that would leave her to become the enemy of both kingdoms. It was also to prevent anything bad happening to their friends since they might not have had the luck that she had when she didn't disappear on stage. Leaving Raven to think about whether what she did was for herself or to prove to everyone that there was a chance that they could choose their own story. Having enough drama for the day, Raven decided to leave and have time to herself to think what she did was right. Leaving Adam by himself, he felt an unusual sensation hitting his brain as if he had been struck by lightning.
"Prince Adam. You are needed at Castle Grayskull."
The Sorceress's voice called to him as he felt there was something wrong that made Adam believe that she was telling the truth. Not knowing from behind him was Teela who had watched the argument happening to that of seeing the future king of Eternos stand there and say nothing. It annoyed her that he'd been not taking anything seriously from his king classes to his kingdom research that his teachers had enrolled Adam to take.
"Guys. If you could work on my float, I'll owe you a favor. I'll be right back."
She told Orius and Stratos who had completed their floats and decided to help Teela with hers so it appears grand for Eternos's people. Making sure to not be noticed by Adam, she decided to follow him since there had been occasions when Adam couldn't be around. This means he was doing something behind everyone's back, which she would have to learn what it is for the fate of Eternia and its people.
Later-Castle Grayskull
Traveling on his hoverboard and keeping his travel discreet from the school's eyes. Adam made his way to the ancient castle where he walked into the throne room to see the Sorceress in her throne room looking saddened with what's been happening at Ever After High.
"There has been much discourse happening within the walls of Ever After High. It has made the castle itself reveal a new portrait."
The winged woman announced as she pointed her staff toward the wall where Adam saw and took his breath away at what Grayskull had created. It was an illustration of himself as He-Man with his cousin Skeletor facing one another along with their teams standing by their side. What made it surprising was everyone at Ever After High was standing in the middle between the clash, who represented the undecided faction who would either align themselves to Castle Grayskull or Skeletor's council of havoc.
"They shouldn't be in this. Raven and Apple may have issues but they'd never put their friends in our conflict, more or less Grayskull's affairs."
Adam responded that Ever After High would never be used in warfare since it seemed that the school as well as its people would be caught in the crossfire. Turning over to see if the Sorceress would agree that the school was placed there due to the conflict that had been happening within its halls, there was a truth in what the portrait was telling him.
"This fight between you and Keldor began on the school's soil. To that of you two bringing in people to aid you in this confrontation, especially with one upon the horizon."
The Sorceress said that the boys intentionally started the conflict between them to affect the school and its people. It left Adam upset that he couldn't tell them about Grayskull or being He-Man since it would make him another rebel to go against destiny and not become king of Eternos.
"Including how my time is almost over. And a new sorceress is needed."
She announced as the portrait showed on the far side of Ever After High was Castle Grayskull. Where standing at the top of its tower was a girl who didn't look like the Sorceress but a new protector of its secrets. Taking a closer look at the portrait, his eyes widen at who the new sorceress is but hears the sound of a rock hitting the ground which catches his and the Sorceress's attention. Quickly the Sorceress without thinking used her magic to bring the intruder to their presence as the person who spied on them was Teela, as the adult woman was speechless at seeing the young girl in front of her.
"Teela."
Announcing her name in confusion and sounding heartbroken at seeing her which caught Teela by surprise at the mysterious woman knew her name. Adam saw how she reacted to his friend and freed her from the holding spell as it seemed there was much that needed to be said, especially a reason why they were standing in a castle that was supposed to be a legend.
"Adam. Explanation, now."
She called out his name in a confused and upset tone of voice of how Adam had been sneaking off to this castle where it was supposed to be lost for centuries but has apparently been visited by him. Along the lines of being mentored by a woman who looked just like her but mature, along the lines of looking over at the portrait that showed their friends fighting for the fate of Ever After High and Eternia. The boy didn't know how to respond to his friend but merely show an nervous smile since there was much to inform her about what's been happening.
Later-Underneath Ever After High
While everyone at the school was busy preparing for Thronecoming and outside, deep within the library was Giles Grimm who was getting a suit ready so he could watch the event happen from his home. His curse had made it impossible for him to be around people, especially near his brother who would need his words of wisdom to help students learn about how to properly follow their stories.
"Celebrations in the air, all frivolous and delight. Many prepare to take flight, while trying to not look uptight."
He spoke in riddlish of there being great delight for everyone attending Thronecoming and happening in Eternos. Despite him not being able to attend, he could watch it safely from here without drawing any attention to his unusual speaking. Preparing a small dinner to enjoy the show and see what will happen during the event, he heard his door knocking and believed it was Maddie Hatter to say her goodbye before leaving to partake in the float parade.
"Wonderous joy in meeting a hatter. But is not the time for readiness and greet an old hare?"
Asking in a curious tone of why she'd be here than with her friends as he heads over to the entrance to allow her in. Before he could reach the door handle, he saw the shadow on the floor growing slowly and going toward Giles. Moving back in a frighten manner, it was Skeletor who managed to enter the basement with the assistance of Evil Lyn as the pair walked in and leave the old man panicked at the two villains being here in his home.
"I knew Maddie wasn't mad and coming here to read books. It was to learn the secrets of the school itself, quite devious of her if you ask me."
Skeletor stated that many students believed that Maddie would be reading all manners of books in the library to get ahead of classes and get better grades. Though in actually it was meeting one of the men who was responsible for making Ever After High. The old man spoke in riddlish as he was furious at them lying to him about being deceived into letting them in, but it only annoyed Evil Lyn as she couldn't understand his words.
"Through ancient words and curse alike. Mend these wounds and heal them before my sight, undo the curse that's befallen on Grimm. Allow him to speak, so he will be under my whim!"
She spoke a spell as Evil Lyn concentrated all of her witchcraft powers into taking away the riddlish curse from his voice as she extracted it from within Grimm's throat. Shocked at the will and strength that the young woman had displayed, Evil Lyn evaporated the curse in front of them as she collapsed on the ground due to how strong the curse was.
"I'm. I'm cured."
Giles spoke without making any confusing words coming out of his mouth and thought it was incredible on being able to talk after so many years. The moment was short lived as Skeletor held him in place with a set of green chains wrapped around him and was forced to sit in his chair. Aiding in Lyn to get back on her feet, the skull faced boy walked over to the Grimm's brother and turned him around to where his enchanted mirror was.
"You're welcome. And what will take for this joyous gift? Oh, I don't know, finding the whereabouts of Grayskull."
He asked kindly as Giles ignored the request as the mirror in front of him could show the Grimm brother anything in the Enchanted Kingdom to that of Eternia's numerous lands. Gripping his skeletal fist at the resistance he was showing toward him, Skeletor used his havoc staff to force Giles to use the mirror as it displayed to them that of Prince Adam with the sword he'd been carrying around since he came to Ever After High. Just as he stared at his cousin and the weapon, his mind was realizing something important on Legacy Day.
"You? You have the powers of the Elders? I should be the one to have it!"
Skeletor remembering the night when he was Keldor and noticing how his cousin was the one having the power of Grayskull in his hand. With this being handled to that of knowing his next move, he kept Gilles wrapped in chains and getting Lyn on her feet since they had to move quickly if they were going to take the sword from Adam.
"Despite what you believe Keldor. What you seek won't bring you satisfaction, especially if you try to take the sword and storybook."
Giles told him that while getting power would make Skeletor believe he would be victorious. But there was more to his quest for power than he'd realize, ignoring the old man's words and taking his partner out to begin their mission of havoc. Gilles attempted to break free but to no avail, the one thing he could do was watch events happen in front of him and hope that the children would be ready for the fight that Skeletor would start across the face of both kingdoms.
