71. Chapter 70

Chapter 70: KickinChicken Vs Touille: Synchro Scraps

CatNap, KickinChicken and Hoppy meanwhile were done eating breakfast at a diner.

"Man, that hit the spot!" KickinChicken said,

"Isn't it funny that we all ordered French toast?" Hoppy said,

"Well I wanted eggs and bacon on mine, so…" CatNap said, "I always gotta get some protein going."

"Who eats protein at breakfast hour?" KickinChicken wondered,

"Me?"

KickinChicken and Hoppy shared a laugh. CatNap chuckled and rolled his eyes.

"Come on, don't judge me, people eat protein at breakfast hour." CatNap said,

"True." Hoppy said,

Then, KickinChicken bumped into someone.

"Ack!" KickinChicken shouted as he felt the bumping on his belly,

"Damn, man, can't see a guy shorter than you?!" A masculine voice shouted,

CatNap, KickinChicken and Hoppy looked down at another rat critter.

"Shit, I'm sorry man!" KickinChicken said,

"Yeah, whatever." The rat critter said as he walked by,

"Hey! What's gotten into you?!"

The rat critters stopped and turned to KickinChicken.

"Heh, you wanna know?" He asked him, "Alright, listen up, because I'm about to talk a lot."

"Oh boy." Hoppy said, "What did we get ourselves into this time?"

"Sometimes I get this way because I don't give a damn. Now leave me be"

"Hey!" KickinChicken said, "What's it gonna take for you to tell us what's going on?!"

The rat critter sighed after he turned back again as he was about to walk away again.

"You wanna know?" He said, "Duel me."

The rat critter then revealed his Duel Disk and Deck.

"Been keeping these in my pocket for so long today that I almost forgot they were in there." He said,

"Alright, bring it on!" KickinChicken said, "And what's your name?"

"Touille. Short for Ratatouille."

"Ok, nice to meet ya! Let's get this duel out of the way!"

The duel between KickinChicken and Touille started after the two critters activated their Duel Disks and shouted, "Duel!" together.

Turn 1

KickinChicken: 4000

Touille: 4000

KickinChicken looked at his hand.

"Hmm, this doesn't seem like a very bad hand…" He said, "I mean… I can make it work though."

Touille smirked.

"Look, are you gonna waste my precious time by gazing into your hand, or are you gonna make a move?" He asked him,

KickinChicken looked up at him.

"...Have you ever heard of thinking?" He asked him,

"Oooh…" Hoppy said as she and CatNap were watching the duel,

"Damn." CatNap said,

"Why yes, I have heard of thinking!" Touille said, "It ain't nothing huge, but I use it sometimes outside of dueling!"

"Sometimes?" KickinChicken wondered, "...Ok then."

"Just play a fucking card."

"I will, jeez! Have some patience, damn it…"

KickinChicken then smiled as he looked at one of the cards in his hand.

"Oh, I haven't felt like this in a long time!" He said, "Where did the good times go? Might as well bring them back!"

KickinChicken then played a familiar Continuous Spell Card to start the duel.

"Here we go! Let's start this duel with me activating the Continuous Spell, Black Whirlwind!" KickinChicken said as Black Whirlwind was activated, "I'll go ahead and explain what this card does once I Normal Summon this guy!"

KickinChicken then revealed a monster in his hand and Normal Summons it onto the field in Attack Position with 1400 ATK Points.

"Blackwing - Sudri The Phantom Glimmer!" He said, "But when Sudri is Normal Summoned, I can add a card that mentions a monster called, "Black-Winged Dragon" from my Deck to my Hand. And before I do that, this is where Black Whirlwind comes into place! When I Normal Summon a Blackwing monster, I can add another with less ATK Points than that summoned monster from my Deck to my Hand!"

"You threw me off!" Touille said,

"I did?"

"Well, yeah, but don't repeat what you said! If you're gonna Special Summon some monsters off of adding them, then I'll just activate this card from my hand!"

Touille then revealed a monster from his hand.

"And that monster effect is from my monster card, Maxx "C"!" Touille said as he sends it to his Graveyard,

"What does that do?" KickinChicken wondered,

"Simple, during this turn, everytime you Special Summon a monster, I get to immediately draw a card!"

CatNap, Hoppy and KickinChicken were shocked.

"Say what?!" KickinChicken shouted, "You get to draw a free card every time I get to Special Summon a monster?! That's literally unfair!"

"Don't blame me, book the folks with the intention of making a card like Maxx "C"!" Touille said, "Even though we got zero clue where these cards come from!"

KickinChicken gulped.

"Well… Shit." He said,

"That little fucker!" Hoppy said, "There's no way he possesses a card like that! I mean, drawing a card every time your opponent Special Summons a monster?! That felt unfair for the other player, depending on who activated it…"

"Isn't there like a… list of cards to use limited copies of and a list of cards to never use?" CatNap wondered,

"Fuck, I don't know, I don't pay attention to that."

"Me neither…"

KickinChicken sighed heavily.

"Ok, this duel just went from 0 to 100 real quick." He said, "Alright, fine, I'll let it slide, for now."

KickinChicken then adds a card off of Sudri - The Phantom Glimmer from his Deck to his Hand, being the Continuous Spell, Black Feather Whirlwind. Then, he adds a Blackwing monster off of Black Whirlwind, being a monster card known as, Blackwing - Vata The Emblem Of Wandering.

"Maxx "C", man…" He said to himself, "To think that someone Touille would possess such a powerful card that stops me from Special Summoning… What the hell do I do?"

KickinChicken sighed.

"I have no choice." He said as he set a card in his Spell Trap Zone, "I'll set a card and end my turn."

"What the?" CatNap wondered, "Did he just ended his turn?"

"Well it's to prevent Touille from drawing any cards under the effect of his dumb Maxx "C" card…" Hoppy said, "But still, that's one way of draining the fun out of KickinChicken's first duel in forever…"

Touille smirked.

"Well, guess I've stolen your thunder!" He said as he drew to start Turn 2, "Now THIS will be fun!"

Touille then played a Field Spell.

"Let's get this duel started this time by activating the Field Spell, Scrap Factory!" He said, "While this card remains face-up on the field, all Scrap monsters gain 200 ATK and DEF Points!"

"Oh boy, a Scrap Deck…" Hoppy said, annoyed, "Hope he's not playing anything else and it's just Scrap."

"What's up with Scrap?" CatNap wondered,

"Just watch and see…"

"Ok then…"

KickinChicken was worried.

"Ok, Scraps, yeah?" He wondered, "What is that deck about?"

"You'll find out right now!" Touille said,

"And he doesn't know what it is?!" Hoppy said, shocked, "Oh crap, Kickin is in deep shit!"

Touille then played a monster.

"I'll then Normal Summon Scrap Recycler in Attack Position!" He said,

Scrap Recycler was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 900 ATK Points, but was increased to 1100 under Scrap Factory.

"And when Scrap Recycler is Normal or Special Summoned, I can send a Machine monster from my Deck to my Graveyard!" Touille said as he went into his Deck, "So let's see…"

Touille then shows a card he wants to send from his Deck to his Graveyard under the effect of Scrap Recycler.

"This will do the trick!" He said, "The Tuner Monster, Scrap Raptor!"

Touille then sends Scrap Raptor to the Graveyard.

"Now I'm not done yet!" He said as he revealed another monster in his hand, "When I control a Scrap monster, I can Special Summon the Tuner monster, Scrap Orthros from my Hand!"

Scrap Orthros was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 1700 ATK Points, but was increased to 1900 under Scrap Factory.

"But when Scrap Orthros is summoned this way, I have to target and destroy a Scrap monster I control." Touille said, "But that's ok, because I don't need Scrap Orthros on my field anyways!"

Scrap Orthros destroyed itself under its own effect and was sent to the Graveyard.

"So you destroyed your own monster that you've just Special Summoned?" KickinChicken wondered, "What will that achieve?"

"This!" Touille replied, "I'll activate the effect of my Scrap Orthros from my Graveyard! When destroyed by a Scrap card's effect, I can target another Scrap monster in my Graveyard and add it back to my hand, so Scrap Raptor will be coming back!"

Touille then adds Scrap Raptor from his Graveyard to his Hand under the effect of Scrap Orthros.

"So, how are you gonna bring out your Scrap Raptor after you just Normal Summoned?" KickinChicken asked,

"Simple!" Touille replied as he activated a Spell Card, "With the Spell Card, Double Summon! This lets me Normal Summon again! So come on out, Scrap Raptor!"

The Tuner Monster Scrap Raptor was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 1400 ATK Points, but was increased to 1600 under Scrap Factory.

"Next, I'll play this Quick-Play Spell!" Touille said as he activated the Quick-Play Spell from his Hand, "Scrapstorm! Which lets me target a Scrap monster I control, send another Scrap monster from my Deck to my Graveyard, draw 1 card and then destroy the targeted Scrap monster I control!"

Touille then points at his Scrap Recycler.

"So Scrap Recycler is going bye-bye!" He said, "But first!"

Touille then sends Scrap Searcher from his Deck to the Graveyard and then shuffled his Deck before drawing a card manually under Scrapstorm's effect.

"Sending Scrap Searcher from my Deck to my Graveyard under the effect of Scrapstorm!" Touille said, "And then I just drew a card, so NOW Scrap Recycler goes bye-bye!"

Scrap Recycler was destroyed under the effect if Scrapstorm.

"Now, for me to activate Scrap Factory's effect!" He said, "When a Scrap monster is destroyed by a card effect and sent to a Graveyard, I can Special Summon a Scrap monster from my Deck!"

Touille then searched in his Deck for a Scrap monster to Special Summon under the effect of Scrap Factory and then revealed it.

"And this guy will come in handy!" He said, "Scrap Golem!"

Scrap Golem was then Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 2300 ATK Points, but increased to 2500 under Scrap Factory.

"Oh this one is a good card…" Hoppy said,

"Scrap Golem, activate your effect!" Touille said, "By targeting a Level 4 or lower Scrap monster in my Graveyard, I can Special Summon it to either one of our fields, but I ain't letting you have a piece of my Scraps!"

Touille then revealed Scrap Recycler from earlier.

"And that will be Scrap Recycler!" He said as he Special Summoned it back onto the field in Attack Position again, "And you know what they say? There's always seconds! Scrap Recycler will now activate its effect once more after being Normal or Special Summoned again!"

"Wait, so you can use your Scrap Recycler's effect many times as you want?" KickinChicken said, shocked,

"Damn right I can!"

Touille then revealed another EARTH Machine monster from his Deck.

"This one will be way different." He said, "Being the Tuner Monster, Revolution Synchron!"

Touille then sends Revolution Synchron from his Deck to his Graveyard.

"I'll be saving Revolution Synchron for later." He said, "For now, I activate Scrap Rator's effect from my field!"

Scrap Recycler was destroyed again.

"By destroying a monster I control, I can Normal Summon an additional Scrap monster to my Normal Summoning this turn!" Touille said as he Normal Summoned another Scrap monster from his hand, "So coming out this time will be Scrap Chimera!"

Scrap Chimera was Normal Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 1700 ATK Points, but was increased to 1900 under Scrap Factory.

"Alright, time for me to tune my Level 4 Scrap Raptor with my Level 4 Scrap Chimera!" Touille said,

"Here comes a Synchro Summon!" Hoppy said, "Be careful, Kickin!"

"I will, I guess!" KickinChicken said, confused, "This is all over the place!"

A Synchro Summon has started with Level 4 tuner Scrap Raptor and Level 4 non-tuner Scrap Chimera.

"With every scrap of metal forming in the scrapyard comes a new monster coming to life from them!" Touille chanted, "But this one's soul is built to be full of power steaming from it! Synchro Summon!"

A giant dragon made out of scrap metal formed from the Synchro Summon.

"Blow away your steam, Level 8, Scrap Dragon!" Touille said,

The Level 8 Synchro Monster, Scrap Dragon, was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 2800 ATK Points, but was increased to 3000 under Scrap Factory.

"Woah, what a dragon!" KickinChicken said, "Never would have thought that the Scrap deck has a dragon for themselves…"

"Looks like you're front row seats to the effect of my Scrap Dragon!" Touille said, "Which lets me target a card I control and a card you control, and destroy them both!"

"Wait, which cards are you gonna destroy?"

"My Scrap Golem and your Blackwing - Sudri The Phantom Glimmer! Scorching Scrap Steam!"

Steam comes out of Scrap Dragon as it destroyed both Scrap Golem and Blackwing - Sudri The Phantom Glimmer.

"Now why would you destroy your own Scrap Golem?!" KickinChicken said,

"Because I can use Scrap Searcher's effect from my Graveyard!" Touille said, "When a Scrap monster is destroyed by a card effect, I can Special Summon Scrap Searcher from my Graveyard and onto the field!"

Scrap Searcher was Special Summoned from the Graveyard in Defense Position with 300 DEF Points, but was increased to 500 under Scrap Factory.

"And I also destroyed Scrap Golem to make you wide open after destroying your only monster!" Touille said, "So let's battle!"

The Battle Phase started.

"Scrap Dragon, attack KickinChicken directly!" Touille said, "Scrap Wave!"

Scrap Dragon then roared as a windstorm of scrap metals started to form around the field. KickinChicken was dealt 3000 points of damage from Scrap Dragon, draining his Life Points to 1000.

"Kickin!" Hoppy said, worried,

"Ok, he's gotta make a comeback or else things are gonna get ugly…" CatNap said, concerned,

KickinChicken looked at Touille after covering his face with his arms.

"Damn…" He said, "Ok… Now this is getting serious."

"Come on, hurry up and start your turn." Touille said, "I end my turn."

Turn 3

KickinChicken: 1000

Touille: 4000

"Alright, Kickin…" KickinChicken said as he took a deep breath, "Don't lose your cool like you did last time… It's just a children's card game…"

KickinChicken draws to start Turn 3.

"Geez, I hope his final card in his hand isn't another Maxx "C" or something…" He said,

KickinChicken then activates Black Feather Whirlwind from his hand.

"I'll start my turn by activating the Continuous Spell, Black Feather Whirlwind!" He said, "I'll show you what it does once I get on with this turn!"

"Go ahead!" Touille said, "I ain't stopping you!"

Touille then winked.

"He just winked at me." KickinChicken said, "I'm smelling a red flag from that rat. I'm gonna teach him some manners! …Without the need of violence."

KickinChicken then revealed another monster in his hand.

"If you control a monster while I don't, I can Normal Summon Blackwing - Sirocco The Dawn without Tribute Summoning!" He said,

Blackwing - Sirocco The Dawn was Normal Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 2000 ATK Points.

"And this will trigger Black Whirlwind's effect, which lets me add a Blackwing monster from my Deck to my Hand with ATK Points less than the Blackwing monster summoned!" KickinChicken said as he does so, adding and revealing Blackwing - Bora The Spear from his Deck,

"I think I know where this is going…" Touille said,

"And since I control a Blackwing monster, I can Special Summon Bora onto my field in Attack Position!"

KickinChicken then Special Summoned Blackwing - Bora The Spear onto his field in Attack Position with 1700 ATK Points.

"Kickin's doing it!" Hoppy said,

"He's Special Summoning without Maxx "C" involved!" CatNap said,

KickinChicken then revealed Blackwing - Vata The Emblem Of Wandering.

"Next, I'll Special Summon Vata from my hand when I control a different Blackwing monster on my field!" He said,

Blackwing - Vata The Emblem Of Wandering was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 800 ATK Points.

"And he's a Tuner monster, which will be a huge help for me Synchro Summoning without you bringing out any restrictions on me!" KickinChicken said,

"Oh, is that so?" Touille wondered as he revealed the final card in his hand,

"Oh, don't tell me that's another Maxx "C" you got!"

"Pfft! I wish it was! But this will help me restrict you from Synchro Summoning, at least while this card is on the field!"

Touille then revealed the final card he had in his hand.

"I activate the effect of this monster!" He said, "Contact "C"!"

"Another "C" monster?!" KickinChicken shouted,

"That's right! When you Normal or Special Summon a monster, I can Special Summon this card onto your field in Defense Position!"

Touille then shoots his copy of Contact "C" to KickinChicken's Duel Disk as it was Special Summoned onto his field in Defense Position with 2200 DEF Points.

"And while you control Contact "C", you cannot Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Link Summon!" Touille said, "Unless you used that card as material."

"Oh come on!" Hoppy said as she pulled her ears, "Bullshit!"

"Wait, Hoppy!" CatNap said, "He said unless Kickin used Contact "C" as material… Which means he can still Synchro Summon, but now he has to use Contact "C as material."

"...Oh."

Hoppy sighed heavily.

"There I go again, making a mountain out of a damn molehill…" She said, "But other than that, Kickin better something with Contact "C" in the way…"

KickinChicken chuckled, surprising Touille.

"Oh, is that how you stop me from Synchro Summoning?" He asked him, "Really now?"

"What's so funny?" Touille wondered,

"You told me that I couldn't Synchro Summon, unless I use Contact "C" as material."

"Yeah, what about it?"

"That's what I'm gonna do!"

"Well do it then! Don't be a bitch, bitch!"

"I will! I'm tuning my Level 2 Vata The Emblem Of Wandering with my, sorry, YOUR Level 6 Contact "C" to set up a Synchro Summon!"

A Synchro Summon has started between Level 2 Tuner Vata The Emblem Of Wandering and Level 6 Non-Tuner Contact "C".

"From the depths of the abyss, bring out your inner darkness under the control of double dragons!" KickinChicken chanted, "Synchro Summon!"

Two dragons came out of a diabolic being.

"Make your enemies suffer, Level 8, Beelze Of The Diabolic Dragons!" KickinChicken shouted,

The Level 8 Synchro Monster, Beelze Of The Diabolic Dragons, was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points.

"Awww, so close!" Touille said, "My Scrap Dragon has the same ATK Points as your Beelze Of The Diabolic Dragons thanks to my Scrap Factory!"

"Oh really?" KickinChicken wondered, "You think you're safe? I'm about to tell you what Black Feather Whirlwind does!"

"Wait, what?" Touille wondered,

"When I Special Summon a DARK Synchro Monster from my Extra Deck, I can Special Summon a monster from my Graveyard with less ATK Points than that DARK Synchro Monster!"

"You're shitting me."

"I wish I was, but I ain't shitting you! Coming back from my Graveyard will be Sudri The Phantom Glimmer!"

Blackwing - Sudri The Phantom Glimmer was Special Summoned back onto the field from the Graveyard in Attack Position.

"Yeah, that's not enough!" Touille said, "Why didn't you bring out your Vata for another Synchro Summon?!"

"Because I just had enough of your BS!" KickinChicken replied, "Battle!"

The Battle Phase started again.

"Alright, let's get this Battle Phase started!" KickinChicken shouted, "Beelze Of The Diabolic Dragons will attack Scrap Dragon! Diabolic Doom Breath!"

Beelze Of The Diabolic Dragons then fired breaths of dark smoke at Scrap Dragon, destroying it.

"Huh?!" Touille shouted, "Why didn't your Beelze get destroyed as well?!"

"Because Beelze Of The Diabolic Dragons cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects!" KickinChicken replied,

"You gotta be fucking kidding me. No worries! I'll just activate Scrap Dragon's effect, which lets me Special Summon a non-Synchro Scrap monster from my Graveyard whenever Scrap Dragon gets destroyed!"

"Not happening! I activate my Counter Trap Card, Divine Wrath!"

Divine Wrath was activated.

"FUCK!" Touille shouted,

"When you activate a monster effect, I'll discard a card to negate it!" KickinChicken said as he discarded Blackwing - Kris The Crack Of Dawn from his Hand to his Graveyard, negating Scrap Dragon's effect,

"No worries!" Touille said, "I still have Scrap Searcher protecting me!"

"Is that so? Bora, attack Scrap Searcher! Pierce 'em!"

"Pierce?!"

Bora then used its drill to attack and destroy Scrap Searcher. Touille then took 1200 points of battle damage from the attack, draining his Life Points to 2800.

"Oh come on!" Touille said, "Piercing damage?! Bullshit!"

"There it is, there's the BS coming from you!" KickinChicken said, "Now you know my pain! Sirocco, Sudri, attack Touille directly and end this turn!"

Blackwing - Sirocco The Dawn and Sudri The Phantom Glimmer then went to attack Touille, one by one and dealt enough battle damage to drain his Life Points to 0. KickinChicken won the battle.

"Yeah!" CatNap said,

"Atta-boy, Kickin!" Hoppy said,

KickinChicken sighed heavily.

"Damn…" He said, "My first duel without being a giant piece of shit… Feels good."

Touille sighed heavily as he picked up his cards and went to KickinChicken and offered a hand.

"Oh, here." KickinChicken said as she gives Touille his copy of Contact "C" back to him,

"Whatever." Touille said as he turned away,

"Ok, I dueled you! And I won, so it would be nice if you tell me, CatNap and Hoppy why are you like this?"

Touille looked back at them.

"My father died in a car accident." He replied, softly, "He was the only one that raised me right, after my mom died of a disease…"

Touille then walked away without saying another word.

"Poor thing…" CatNap said, "He lost his parents…"

"Yeah…" Hoppy said, "And you have never seen your parents before…"

"You were just… born into this world, right?" KickinChicken wondered,

"I was…" CatNap replied as he sighed, "...Since it's just you two, do you guys want me to talk about it? I never told the others about where I come from since I'm afraid…"

"Don't be afraid, you're with us." Hoppy said, "...Even though we had a lot of ups and downs…"

"That's in the past. Let's just carry on… I have to get this off my chest."

"Ok, suit yourself." KickinChicken said, "Speak away."
