"Wow, look at you," Emma said in awe as she snuck up behind her boyfriend and wrapped her arms around him, "my sexy man."

Sean rested his head against hers and smiled softly, closing his eyes to take a moment to soak it in. The smell of honey vanilla lingered in his nose, "thank you, gorgeous."

"But are you sure this isn't too much?"

"Are you kidding?" Emma chuckled, tugging gently at his white button up to fix the little imperfections, "I'd hire you."

He placed a soft kiss on her lips. She moved out of the way of the mirror, allowing him to take one last look at himself. He had to admit, he did clean up pretty nicely.

"I'm so proud of you," she beamed, "you know cars like the back of your hand. There's no way they won't hire you."

Sean shrugged. He couldn't care less whether he got the job; he was working toward bigger and better things, anyway.

Emma looked at her watch, "shit! You'd better get going."

She pushed the boy up the stairs reluctantly.

"Are you sure I can't drive you to school?" He asked as they reached the front door. "Postive." She placed a kiss on his cheek.

"Go out there and kill it, babe. I know you can do this!"

He swallowed hard, "I love you."

"I love you, too."

Emma called out to him as he headed toward his car, "don't forget, tonight we have dinner with Manny and Craig!"

"Wouldn't miss it!"

Emma blew him a kiss, before grabbing her things and catching a ride to Degrassi with her father.

Once there, Manny, Alice and JT were surrounding her locker.

"Did not!" JT defended himself from some banter between him and Alice as Emma approached the trio.

Lately, the two had grown incredibly close. It reminded her of friendly sibling banter... except for the palpable crush JT clearly had on the Cameron sibling that would surely get him killed if Sean caught wind of it.

"Whatever," Alice rolled her eyes, clearly teasing the poor boy.

"Hey, Em!" Manny's face lit up at the sight of her best friend. "We were hoping for your help."

The blonde raised a brow, waiting for her to continue as she entered her combination.

"Liberty's birthday is coming up and we wanted to do something special for her." Manny's words were rushed.

"She's been really down lately, so we were wondering..."

Emma knew exactly where this was going.

"Could we please throw a party at your place next weekend?"

Manny had caught wind that her parents were going away, and Emma just knew that her 'alone time' with Sean would he infultrated in someway.

Emma sighed, rolling her eyes. She didn't feel like explaining why it was a bad idea, "fine."

She figured her and Sean could sneak away for some alone time at some point.

"You're the best!" Manny squealed, flashing a huge smile in JT and Alice's direction. "I'll set up the whole thing. The snacks, the drinks. There's no way this won't lift Liberty's. spirits!"

"I can totally help too-"

Alice's voice trailed off in Emma's head. The fact that no one could see that JT's hopeless crush on Alice was the reason for Liberty's gloom was mind-blowing to Emma. That poor girl loved that goof since she first laid eyes on him, but he hardly even paid her any mind.

"How does that sound, Em?" Alice's voice suddenly filled her ears once more.

"Uh, yeah, sure," Emma closed her locker, parting ways with JT as the three girls made their way to first class.

"Craig made us a reservation for 7:00 at Maxine's," Manny said to Emma as they found this respective seats in Mr. Aromstrong's class.

"Wow, fancy," she teased, "now that he's a big time music producer in Vancouver he's got connections, huh?"

Manny just rolled her eyes and shook her head, "can't I be spoiled?"

The bell to begin class rang then.

By some miracle, the day flew by. Emma was on her way to her dad's car, when Sean walked up the stairs toward her, "hey, sexy."

"What are you doing here?" Her face lit up, practically throwing herself into his arms.

"Just got off work, thought I'd pick my girlfriend up on my way home."

"You got it?!"

Sean nodded, "now, I wanna take my girl out for dinner."

She blushed, intertwining her fingers with his, allowing him to lead her back to his car.

"You know," Sean started as he pulled away from the school, "I'm looking forward to seeing Craig again tonight."

"Me, too," she began reminiscing, "remember that time he came with me to find my dad?"

Sean's knuckles tightened around the steering wheel just thinking about it. He wasn't proud of the person he was back then. His own girlfriend wanted him to come help her find her biological dad, but shops class was somehow more important.

"Yeah, I'm sorry about that," he sounded defeated, "it should've been me."

Emma chuckled, "it sure made for a great story. Joey was so pissed. He had to drive over an hour both ways to bring us back home after we missed the last train."

"You sure were an adventurous one, huh?" Sean teased as he pulled into the Simpson-Nelson driveway.

The moment they reached the basement, Emma's body collapsed onto her bed. She reached a hand out for Sean to come join her, "I think your favourite car show is on."

He showed her his blackened hands from oil and other grease, "I better go clean up first."

Emma pouted jokingly.

"Why don't you find us a movie and some snacks or something while I shower?" Sean suggested, knowing she'd perk up getting to show him some boring rom-com.

"Okay!"

By the time Sean had finished his shower, Emma was already fast asleep on the bed; the main menu of some sappy movie playing on repeat. He gently joined her in bed, careful not to wake her.

The couple slept for hours, with Sean stirring first. He lifted his arm from around her waist to check the time. 6:08.

"Shit," he muttered, gently shaking Emma's body, "Em, we're going to be late."

"Huh?" Her voice groggy.

"It's like 10 minutes past 6:00. Isn't supper at 7:00?"

"Fuck!"

The blonde flew out of the bed faster than Sean had ever seen her move; straight to the bathroom. He couldn't help but laugh at her franticness, as he sat up against the headboard. He grabbed his phone from the side table, opening it to multiple texts from Manny.

Hey Sean, is Emma with you? Thought the four of us could carpool.

Hello???

Sean???

He texted her back, letting her know they'd meet them at the restraurant instead. Luckily, the restaurant wasn't too far away from Emma's home.

"Hey, Em?" Sean called from the bedroom.

"Yeah?"

She exited the bathroom, miraculously ready to go on time. She looked beautiful in the little dress she wore the day he saw her at the races. It hugged her body just so. Sean was in awe.

"I was going to ask if you were ready to go," he started, closing the space between them, "but you're making me not wanna leave now."

She slapped his shoulder playfully, "stop it!"

"Besides, our friends are waiting for us," she placed a longing kiss on his lips. What a tease.

Sean threw his white button up back on, and a pair of jeans before they headed out the door.

When they arrived at the restaurant, it was only 7:03. They made it earlier than Sean thought they would. When they entered the dimly-lit building, they were waved over by the other couple. Craig stood up from his seat across from Manny at a round table for four, greeting each of them with a hug.

"Hey, man," Sean patted his old friend on the back, "how's Bigshot Manning doing?"

The three of them sat down now as Craig responded with a laugh at Sean's friendly banter, "you know, Vancouver's pretty nice... And the money's pretty cool, too."

The look on Manny's face revealed that there was something she was struggling to hide. All six eyes were on her now, as her face practically turned red with excitement.

"Come on," Emma egged her friend on, "spit it out."

She breathed out, "okay..."

"We're engaged!"

"Wow," it was clear that wasn't what Emma was expecting. She shared a look of surprise with Sean before she continued, "I mean, congratulations you two!"

Manny gushed, showing off her ring to her BFF. Sean turned to Craig, "you weren't kidding when you said the money's good, huh?"

He laughed.

"And what about you guys?" Craig made an attempt to take the focus off the two of them, "it's nice to see you two back together again."

"Yeah," Sean took a sip of his water, "things have never been better between the two of us."

He placed his hand over Emma's hand that rested on the table.

"That's great! It's good to see the whole 'ravine thing' didn't come between you two."

"What 'ravine thing'?" Sean furrowed his eyebrows, looking around the table. Manny slugged Craig's shoulder, giving him a death glare. Emma's eyes were as big as baseballs, dumbfounded at what just came out of Craig's mouth. "Em, what's he talking about?"

His voice grew stern. There was no getting out of this now.
