Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 10 of Tortured. I want to thank those who have left reviews for this story. It truly does mean a lot to me that you guys are enjoying this. We're getting closer to the end of this story. And of course it breaks my heart to know that this is ending, but the question will remain should I continue after this story? If James lives in the end? Should I do a story where it is them being a family and being with Elizabeth? Enough of my ramblings. Without further ado Chapter 10. ENJOY!
Chapter 10
Feng's men guarded the crew wearing shackles.
Rose lowered her head knowing that this wasn't a good sign. She looked up to see Will and Sao Feng intercept Mercer who had come onboard. Her heart sunk in her chest knowing that this was dangerous. If Mercer was onboard it meant that Beckett was truly there with Jack.
"My men are crew enough." Sao Feng stated looking at Mercer.
"Company ship, company crew." Mercer said simply like it was the easiest thing in the world.
"You agreed, the Black Pearl was to be mine." Will said turning his attention to Sao Feng.
"And so it was." Sao Feng said gesturing to one of his men. The man punched Will from behind in the kidneys knocking the wind out of him.
Two others shackled his arms before being hauled away to the rest of them.
"Beckett agreed, the Black Pearl was to be mine."
"And so it was." Mercer smiled sickenly looking at Sao Feng. "Lord Beckett wouldn't give up the one ship as might prove a match for the Dutchman, would he?"
Sao Feng looked around knowing that he was in trouble. He nodded sharply to his man to step aside for the sailor that was there.
Mercer gave Sao Feng a half salute before walking away.
Barbossa came up to Sao Feng. "Shame they're not bound to honor the Code of the Brethren. Isn't it? Of course, honor's a hard thing to come by, nowadays."
"There is no honor to remaining with the losing side. Leaving it for the winning side ... that's just good business."
"The losing side, says you. "
"They have the Dutchman. And what do the Brethren have?"
Barbossa gestured to Sao Feng making the other man come closer to hear. "We have ... Calypso."
Sao Feng's eyes went to the two women, Elizabeth and Rose. He eyed the older one of the two knowing that she was the one that had come with Barbossa in Singapore and she was rather mouthy in her words. "Calypso. An old legend."
"No, the goddess herself, bound in human form ... fury or favor, you not be knowing ... but when the mood strikes her, and its her favor she bestows upon a lucky sailor ... well, you've heard: legendary."
The two men exchanged knowing smirks.
"There was a time when the seas be untamed, the world a rougher place, and a sailor made his own fate. I aim to bring it back. And for that, I need the Brethren Court." He tapped the knot pendant that Sao Feng wore. "All the court."
"What are you proposing?"
"What be you accepting?"
"The girl."
Rose blinked a few times.
"What?" Elizabeth said in shock as Sao Feng continued to eye her sister.
"We give you Rose in exchange for helping us escape?" Will said hoping that he was right. He had a bad feeling about the whole thing.
Sao Feng nodded his head.
"No. No. Out of the question." Barbossa said shaking his head.
"It was not a question."
Rose looked up moving forward.
Elizabeth reached for her sister. "Rose."
"Done." Rose said firmly.
Will looked at Rose with wide eyes. "What? Not done."
Rose let out a chuckle shaking her head. "You've put us in these straits. If this frees us, then… Done."
"No." Elizabeth said looking at her sister with wide eyes.
"My choice. My choice alone."
"Rose they're pirates." Elizabeth said grasping her sister arm.
Rose looked at Elizabeth a small smile came to her lips. "We've had more than enough experience dealing with pirates." She said to her sister slowly moving her arm from Elizabeth's hold turning her attention to Sao Feng.
"I am pleased -" He said reaching out to take her arm only to have it yanked away.
Rose gave him a look her brow raising slightly.
"My apologies. I know I must earn your favor."
Rose nodded her head slightly. "That's right. You do."
"Then we have an accord?" Barbossa questioned looking at Sao Feng.
"Agreed."
The two men shook hands.
"Now if we only had a plan." Gibbs said looking around.
Elizabeth looked at her sister with a worried gaze.
Rose gave Elizabeth a knowing look.
