A/N: It's been a while since this story last got an update, but here we are now with the next chapter of the story. Sorry that it took so long and that it's shorter than I would have liked to give you all, but the next chapter is where Danny finally meets his future brides. And that one is going to be the longest chapter yet since I plan for him to meet all of them in a single chapter. But now, without further ado, let's get right into it!
Disclaimer: I still don't own Danny Phantom, Hellsing, Devil May Cry, Fate Grand Order, One Piece, Bleach, Ranma 1/2, Dragon Ball Z, Spy x Family, Avatar The Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, Fairy Tail, Sailor Moon, Metroid, Naruto Shippuden, Street Fighter, Teen Titans, Ah! My Goddess!, or My Adventures With Superman!
Mansions & Butlers!
Danny sighed as he straightened his tie while standing in front of a mirror. A week has passed since he got the news that he was engaged to several women due to his mother's actions and he spent it all mentally preparing himself for when he would eventually meet them. And to be frank, he still wasn't mentally prepared for this. His experience with dating is very limited. Heck, the longest, and best, relationship he's ever been in was when he was dating Valerie before his identity as Danny Phantom was revealed to the world. He certainly didn't feel ready to marry a bunch of girls he's never met before.
But he figured that he'd probably never find a woman who wanted to date him for anything other than him being a world-famous hero, and especially now, not for his money, so he figured he'd give this a chance. He figured, who knows? Maybe this whole thing is a blessing in disguise like his sister suggested.
'Guess I'll find out soon enough.' he thought to himself.
He and his family had also taken this time to mourn the death of Dante, Danny and Jazz's uncle and their mother's brother. It seemed that their brother thought ahead and had already arranged his own funeral while on his deathbed and had arranged for transportation for his family. They attended the funeral, paid their respects, remembered the good times that they had had with Dante, however few times they had actually got together as a family, and then laid him to rest in an ornate tomb. Needless to say, Maddie's brother, Dante Redgrave, may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
Anyway, back to the current situation.
Danny was currently dressed in a black tuxedo with a white collared shirt underneath the jacket, black shoes that were shined up nicely, and a red tie around his neck that was done up professionally. He was glad that he and his mother had managed to find a tux in his size on such short notice, otherwise he would have felt very awkward meeting several women who he would be marrying… he still can't believe that's happening… while dressed in his everyday casual clothes.
Danny was broken from his musings when he heard a knock at his door.
"Danny? Are you decent?" his mother asked from behind the door.
"Yeah, mom, you can come in. I'm dressed." Danny said back.
Maddie walked in dressed in a blue formal dress and black heels. She looked at her son with pride, smiling as she walked over and adjusted his tie.
"Oh, look at you, Danny. You've grown from an adorable little boy to a handsome young man." Maddie praised before smiling sadly as she said, "I just wish that your uncle was still alive to see this."
"Yeah. I think he would have liked the idea of having a bunch of nieces-in-law." Danny commented.
"Not to mention a small army of grand-nieces and nephews to spoil." Maddie said with a teasing smirk.
She laughed as her son blushed so red that he could make an apple green with envy. He knew that his mother would be expecting grandkids soon, but did she have to tease him about it?
"Okay, okay, I've had my fun. Let's get going." Maddie said as she calmed down.
After he managed to shake off his blush, Danny followed his mother downstairs where his father and sister were waiting for them. Jazz was now wearing a black formal dress and heels while Jack, ever prepared to fight rogue spirits, simply opted to wear a purple necktie in addition to his usual orange and black hazmat suit. Some things never change, I guess. They did a quick check to make sure that they had everything before walking out of their house, making sure to lock the door behind them as they were greeted to the sight of a limousine waiting for them.
"Fenton family? I was instructed to bring you to the Redgrave Manor at this time by Master Dante before his passing." said the driver.
Danny nodded and said, "Thank you, sir.".
Everyone piled into the limo before driving off to the mansion that once belonged to Danny and Jazz's uncle Dante. It was a comfortable silence for most of the passengers, with the exception of Danny who was still thinking about everything that was about to happen. He never in his life imagined himself getting married so soon, let alone to sixteen different women whom he was only just NOW going to meet. And honestly, he felt that he was close to having an anxiety attack. He's fought the likes of Parish Dark and even his evil future self, but this is probably going to be the scariest thing he has ever done in his life.
His mother must have sensed his growing unease as she started to rub circles in his back to try and calm him down like she did whenever he had a bad dream back when he was a little boy. It helped a little, but he was still very anxious. It felt like his stomach was doing backflips and his skeleton was about to literally jump out of his skin like in the cartoons. But there was no going back now. It was time for him to take the next big step in this big old journey called life.
Eventually, after a two-hour long drive, they pulled up to the property and saw the manor that now belonged to Danny. To say they were amazed would be an understatement. In fact, Danny was actually a little intimidated at the idea of living in such a big house. Especially after that one time involving the Guys In White, but he'd rather not dwell on that memory. The driver parked the limo out in the driveway and everyone disembarked.
"Ah, so the new young master has arrived. Along with his family, I see." says a voice.
One that sounded like it belonged to an older gentleman.
Danny and his family looked and saw a well-dressed man walking up to them. He was thin and short, and he really showed his age with facial wrinkles and details. His face is long and square, and his eyes are droopy rather than sharpened, with red pupils. His hair, receding and graying, is slicked back and tied up. His skin is fair, and his choice of attire includes a long-sleeved white shirt with sleeve garters and cuffs, a black tie under a black waistcoat, black trousers, and black boots. In addition, he wears a monocle pince nez. A pair of white gloves completed his look.
The man stopped in front of the family and said, "Welcome to the Redgrave Manor, everyone! Although, I suppose now it will be called the Fenton Manor. Do tell, which one of you is the one called Daniel?".
Danny stepped forward and said, "That would be me, sir. Though, I prefer to go by the name Danny. And you are?".
"My name is Walter C. Dornez, young master. I am the head butler for this estate and was also your uncle's right-hand man. It is a pleasure to meet you in person." he replied while reaching out to shake Danny's hand.
The two shook hands and Walter was pleased to see that the young man had a firm grip.
"Please follow me, everyone. Now that you have arrived, it's time for Young Master Daniel to meet his future brides." instructed Walter.
To say that the walk through the mansion was a confusing one for Danny and his family was an understatement. The place felt like a maze with its long hallways and big, empty rooms. Jazz was in awe at the interior design as she felt that it looked much better than Vlad's castle, what with all of the Packers merch that he had on display, Jack was thinking about all of the ghost fighting gear that he could install in a place like this and made a mental note to talk to Danny about it, and Maddie and her son were wondering how the heck Dante was able to stand living all by himself in such a big house like this one. Well, they guessed he wasn't, technically, all alone since he had Walter and, most likely, some other butlers and maids living here as well since they work here.
They were just glad that Walter was there to guide them through the mansion. Otherwise, they all would have surely gotten lost after the first corridor.
"Alright, everyone! The meeting is just beyond this door!" exclaimed Walter.
He opened the door and let everyone inside and Danny got a good look at who all was here. There were sixteen different women gathered in the room. Some of them had people with them who were likely relatives, but most of them were here by themselves. Walter placed a hand on Danny's shoulder and guided him to the center of the room as he introduced him.
"Presenting the new lord of the house, Mister Daniel James Fenton!" announced Walter.
Danny took a deep breath and steeled his nerves. He knew that there was no going back now.
***...To Be Continued…***
Ending A/N: And that's it for this chapter! Now, for those of you who may be wondering, yes, Danny's uncle Dante is indeed the same Dante from the Devil May Cry franchise. Just thought I'd answer that question and get it out of the way. But with all that said, I'm gonna go and practice drawing on my new drawing tablet now. Thanks for reading, and I'll see you all next time, my hatchlings!
