Welcome back to The Injustice Wars. Last time, Blaze and company woke up on Black Manta's submarine. After a quick catchup for John Constantine, and binding Manta and his crew to fake taking over the sub and turn back towards The Nameless City. Meanwhile, Darkblood and Horror-Show finalize their agreement. But upon learning Blaze is on her way back, Darkblood initiates a secret plan for Doctor Fate, who he still has captive, that he only has told Horror-Show. So, what are they working on? Read on to discover...

(Our scene resumes in The Nameless City, as Black Manta's submarine surfaces, allowing Blaze and company to exit and resume their hunt for the enemy)

Blaze: Okay team, the plan is simple. We get in, we find Fate, we rescue him, we get out.

Hellboy: I wouldn't be too insistant on that plan. Knowing my luck, things always go wrong.

John Constantine: A little confidence wouldn't kill you, you know.

Raiden: He is being realistic. My advice would be the same.

Blaze: Trust me, I'm ready for it. Like Lenny always says: Make the plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go sideways, throw out the plan.

Zatanna: Since when did you start listening to Captain Cold?

Blaze: Since he started making a lot of sense.

Zatanna: Fair enough.

John Constantine: Am I the only one concerned with how quiet this is?

Vandal Savage: How have you made it this far in your business asking questions like that?

John Constantine: That supposed to mean something?

Blaze: Yeah, don't ask that question. Because the minute you do...

(And true to what she's thinking, when Blaze turns back forward, we see Multiplex has them surrounded with Darkblood, Enchantress, Raven, Killer Frost, and Horror-Show confronting them)

Blaze: Things go to hell.

Darkblood: I'll admit it, I didn't expect you to be back this soon. I figured you would have regrouped at your lair first, my little dreamsicle.

Blaze: I've said it before, I'll say it again. You don't get to call me that!

Darkblood: Oh, I'm heartbroken. Just for that, I'm going to have to introduce you to my new friend. Though, I think you've probably met before. But definitely not like this.

Blaze: What are you rambling about?

Darkblood: Let me show you.

(With that, Darkblood snaps his fingers, and a door behind the mob opens. From it, a dark cloud emerges, no doubt just for dramatic effect. But from that could emerges a familiar blue and gold clad figure. Only now his suit is studded with dark gems, his eyes glow violet, and the ankh symbol on his chest is replaced with the symbol for Dark Aether.)

Blaze: (Completely taken aback) Fate?!

Darkblood: I hope you don't mind, but I gave him a bit of a makeover. Dark gems are so in chic this season.

Blaze: What have you done?!

Darkblood: Something only the New Dark Master would even dream of doing. I've bent Fate to my will. The champion of the Lords of Order now champions me. Now then, I believe this would be the moment where you surrender. Unless you want to fight your old friend.

Blaze: We're screwed.

Zatanna: I could tell you that!

John Constantine: What happened to planning for the plan to go askew?

Blaze: I wasn't even remotely expecting this!

John Constantine: Well then what do we do?

Vandal Savage: The only smart thing? Get out of here.

Hellboy: Like hell.

Vandal Savage: Trust me, I know Nabu's power better than anyone. He was my son. This is not a fight we're prepared to take on!

Raiden: I may have a way to restore them.

Blaze: Then why aren't we doing it?

Raiden: I am unsure it will work. I must consult with the Elder Gods.

Blaze: Can you do that in a few seconds?

Raiden: Sadly no.

Blaze: Then we need to act on Vandal Savage's plan. Tactical retreat until Raiden gets his act together.

Hellboy: I'm not the one who just gives up.

Vandal Savage: Trust me, Anang Un Rama. Nabu is not somebody you want to go up against unprepared. Especially like this.

Blaze: We need to retreat for now.

Hellboy: (Looking at the situation) Fine, but I don't like this.

Blaze: Raiden, can you get us out of here?

Raiden: Gladly.

(With that, Raiden calls down his divine lightning and teleports everybody out of there in that moment)

Darkblood: (Seeing they fled) Aw, I was really hoping to show them what my new toy here could do.

Enchantress: (Strokes his head lovingly) You'll get the chance.

Darkblood: Who said I was waiting?

Horror-Show: You're just going to unleash him?

Darkblood: I've got Doctor Fate as my servant, why not have a little fun and wreak havoc? And I know just the target.

(And as Darkblood's maniacal grin is illuminated against a black fade out, our scene ends for today)

And that looks like a good spot to wrap up for now. So, this is what Darkblood had in store for Doctor Fate. He corrupted him, just like Malefor did to Cynder all those years ago. Thankfully Blaze and company made the smart decision and got the heck out of there before the Corrupted Fate could be ordered to strike. But it looks like somebody else won't be so lucky. If Darkblood's history in this world is anything to go by, the target should be pretty clear, but I'll leave the mystery up to debate for now. So, will Raiden be able to pull off his plan? Or will somebody else have an idea as to how to handle the Corrupted Fate? I'll say this, we're about to be rejoined by someone we haven't seen in a while to make this work. Who is it?
