Hello and welcome to this death battle between two monsters that are inspired by famous monsters.
Abomasnow the Frost Tree pokemon.
Goss Harag the Limp Reaper
Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon or Monster Hunter.
Abomasnow
In the snowy mountains of Sinnoh, there are many ice type pokemon that live there. From Mamoswines, to Froslasses and even Glaceons. But there is an ice type pokemon that has earned it the title as the abominable monster, Abomasnow.
Attack Potency
Abomasnow is a grass and ice type pokemon, a bad type combination, but thankful it wouldn't be a problem for this fight. Abomasnow is a powerful pokemon that can split huge boulders with ease. It has powerful arms that it can use with Ice Punch, drop huge icicles on its opponents with Ice Crash, hurl ice fast with Ice Shard, shot an ice beam with Ice Beam and summon a blizzard with Blizzard and even completely freeze opponents and knock them out with Sheer Cold.
But ice isn't Abomasnow's only weapon, being a grass type gives it powerful grass type moves. Moves like Razor Leaf to fire sharp leafs that can cut down trees. Energy Ball to fire a ball of grass type energy. And Wood Hammer to slam its opponents with its body at the cost of recoil. And it has a great ability called Snow Warning, which allows it to summon a snow storm just by being there. And this snow storm will cause damage against those who aren't ice types.
Abomasnow may not have good typing, but it has shown to be able to go against other fully evolved pokemon, even pokemon like Garchomp. In pokemon Hisuian Snow two Abomasnow were able to fight an alpha Garchomp.
Feats
—Can split huge boulders with ease.
—Can fight other powerful pokemon like Garchomp.
Durability
Like I said before Abomasnow has a bad type for pokemon standards, but it's still a bulk pokemon that can take hits from Garchomp. It's big and tanking so even with a bad typing it isn't going to go down easily. And it has great moves for defense as well. Ingrain to plant itself to heal itself. And Aurora Veil which will halve damage against Abomasnow, but can only be used in a snow storm. Thankfully it has Snow Warning for it.
Feats
—Is a tanking pokemon that can take hits from Garchomp.
—It has great moves for healing and defense.
Speed
As you can probably tell from its size it isn't very fast, and has no moves to help with its leak of speed. With Ice Shard really being the only fast attack it has. Despite that it can still go up against other pokemon who are faster than it.
Feats
—Is slow but still able to fight fast pokemon.
—Ice Shard is its only fast move.
Weakness
Abomasnow has many weaknesses, that being fire, fighting, poison, flying, bug, rock, and steel. It is also slow too. So it isn't hard to out speed it.
—Is weak to fire, fighting, poison, flying, bug, rock, and steel.
—Is a slow pokemon.
Goss Harag
In the Frost Islands there are many monsters that thrive in the cold. Monsters like the Great Baggi, Lagombi, Somnacanth. But the monster that stands at the top is none other than Goss Harag.
Attack Potency
The Goss Harag is a huge monster that is full of muscle, it normally walks on four but can walk on two if it needs too. The Goss Harag arms are covered in rocky like spikes combine that with having the strength to cause shock waves with your fist and you have a powerful monster that can pulverize most monsters. It is so strong that when it slams its arms down it creates a shock wave that travels through the ground.
If physical strength isn't enough it has the ice element, but uses it in a unique way. While it can fire beams of ice, it can fire its ice beam on its arms to create ice swords and shields. For a wild animal it has surprisingly good technique using them. It can even fling them off its arms to use as projectiles. It can also inflict the Iceblight which cause the opponent to use more stamina
All of this is what kept the Goss Harag the apex predator of the Frost Islands.
Feats
—Is incredibly strong.
—Can make weapons out of ice.
Durability
The Goss Harag doesn't have much for defense. But the Goss Harag is just as tough as it is strong. It's built to take hits with its massive stature and huge muscles. Its body also has scales which can act as armor. There isn't much to say about its durability other than it's just as tough as it is strong. This monster isn't going to go down easy.
Feat
—Is built to take hits.
—Has thick scales for armor.
Speed
The Goss Harag may be big, but it isn't slow. In fact it's actually quite fast. It can run in bursts of speed on all four and can jump incredibly high. Despite looking like a monster that can't move fast, it's quite a fast monster for its size.
Feats
—Can run fast on all fours.
—Can jump incredibly high.
Weakness
The Goss Harag is weak to fire and lighting. Outside of that there aren't many weaknesses it has other than its ice weapons can be broken with enough damage.
—Is weak to fire and lighting.
—Its ice weapons can be broken.
Alright let's start this death battle!
(In the Frost Islands)
In the Frost Islands a group of Baggi were currently surrounding an Abomasnow with all of them screeching at it. But Abomasnow wasn't intimidated. In fact it was annoyed, the Baggis all at once tried to bite into Abomasnow, but Abomasnow punched the ground creating a shockwave that was powerful enough to send them all flying away.
As Abomasnow was about to leave, it heard something big approaching it. Turning around it saw Goss Harag walking on all fours. Goss Harag spotted Abomasnow and roared at it. Abomasnow responded with a roar of its own.
Fight!
Abomasnow roared again and a hail storm appeared out of nowhere. Goss Harag roared again too and charged at Abomasnow on all fours. Abomasnow was surprised at the sudden burst of speed and was just barely able to avoid it.
When Abomasnow avoided it, Abomasnow punched Goss Harag with an Ice Punch. The Ice Punch hit Goss Harag's back. Goss Harag however barely even felt the attack and simply just turned around. Goss Harag then stood on its hind legs and towered over Abomasnow. Abomasnow was intimidated by Goss Harag size. Goss Harag then tried to punch Abomasnow, but Abomasnow was able to jump away from it. The punch was powerful enough to cause a small tremor around the area, as well as leave a big crater in the ground.
Seeing the level of power Goss Harag had, Abomasnow decided not to fight a close-up fight. Abomasnow then raised an arm and a chunk of ice formed above it. Abomasnow then hurled the chunk of ice at Goss Harag's face. The Ice Shard shattered to pieces upon contact with Goss Harag's face and Goss Harag didn't even so much as blink from the attack.
Growling in annoyance, Goss Harag raised both of its huge arms and slammed them into the ground. A shockwave formed causing a line of rocks to emerge from the ground to hit Abomasnow.
Abomasnow quickly sidestepped away and fired a barrage of Razor Leaves. The Razor Leaves hit the charging Goss Harag causing small cuts. But Goss Harag didn't even flinch from the attack and kept charging. Abomasnow was hit by Goss Harag's charge and sent into a rocky wall. Abomasnow groaned in pain and was barely able to duck under a punch from Goss Harag. Abomasnow then uppercut Goss Harag with an Ice Punch.
Goss Harag did stumble back, but it hardly did any real damage. Goss Harag then swept its claw, hitting Abomasnow on the chest and sending it tumbling on the ground. Abomasnow quickly got up and jumped away just in time to avoid getting crushed by Goss Harag fist coming down.
Abomasnow then quickly spat something out of its mouth, it looked to be a ball of liquid ice. It went up into the air before forming into giant icicles. The Icicle Crash came crashing down onto Goss Harag and Goss Harag actually felt pain from the attack as the large icicles crashed down on its body.
Seeing that its ice attacks could do damage to Goss Harag. Abomasnow charged forward before jumping into the air and punching Goss Harag's face with an Ice Punch. Goss Harag stumbled back from the punch, almost losing its footing, before retaliating with a punch of its own. The punch hit Abomasnow right on the chest causing Abomasnow to cry out in pain as well as send Abomasnow flying through the air.
Abomasnow was able to land on its feet just barely. Abomasnow looked up, and jumped away just in time to avoid Goss Harag trying to crush it as Goss Harag tried to crush Abomasnow with its body by leaping into the air and landing on it. Abomasnow fired an Energy Ball, which hit Goss Harag at the chest.
Goss Harag groans in pain from the attack. Goss Harag then fired its own project. A large amount of icy liquid came out of its mouth in the shape of a beam. Abomasnow was easily able to avoid it but jumped over it and fired another Energy Ball. Which hit Goss Harag on the face this time.
Goss Harag fell on its back after the attack, before getting up. One of Goss Harag arms was now bright red, it then fired its ice beam onto it and the ice around it started to form a large blade of ice. Goss Harag then ran at Abomasnow with its ice sword arm raised high into the air ready to cut Abomasnow to pieces. Abomasnow was very surprised by this and was just barely able to use its arms to block the slash.
Abomasnow cried in pain from the attack, while it wasn't enough to cut through its skin, the power behind the sword slash was still powerful enough to send it flying through the air. Abomasnow landed on its back, before jumping back up. Just in time to be hit with another sword slash from Goss Harag on the chest.
"SNOW!" Abomasnow cried out.
It was sent flying again, this time while it was in the air it fired a quick Energy Ball which hit Goss Harag atop of its head. Goss Harag shook its head from the attack. Before running after Abomasnow again.
Abomasnow was able to land on its feet this time and fire another Energy Ball with more power in it than the quick one. Goss Harag didn't even try to dodge it, as the Energy Ball hit its chest. While it didn't stop its charge, Abomasnow could see that its chest now had some visible marks on it. It was taking damage, just not a whole lot.
Abomasnow ducked under the sword swing, and quickly slid past Goss Harag, before turning and firing an Ice Beam at Goss Harag feet. While the attack itself didn't do any real damage, it was still able to entrap both of Goss Harag's feet in thick layers of ice. Goss Harag tried to move, but it couldn't as its feet were stuck in ice.
Goss Harag was then hit by an Energy Ball to the face, causing it to scream in pain, as it shook its head, it looked up in time to see Abomasnow hitting its face again with a double Ice Punch, knocking it over, but freeing its feet.
As Goss Harag was on the ground, Abomasnow went to its sword arm and, using both of its arms, smashed a big part of the blade into pieces, rendering the blade half broken. Abomasnow then jumped away while firing another Energy Ball as Goss Harag got back up. Goss Harag stared at Abomasnow with hatred in its eyes before looking down at its now half broken ice blade, before seemingly snoring with disguise.
Before looking back at Abomasnow, it raised its broken sword arms, and with great strength fling the remaining part of it off its arm and right into Abomasnow.
Abomasnow hadn't expected that Goss Harag would throw its broken ice blade at it, so it was hit on the face, causing it to flinch and almost lose its feeting. When it opened its eyes it got a face full of Goss Harag's big fist. Abomasnow went flying again and straight through a rocky pillar. When Abomasnow landed it tried to get up only to cough out some blood.
Seeing the blood Abomasnow realized it could take hits like this. Looking up into the sky, it saw it was still hailing. Abomasnow roared and suddenly an Aurora appeared in the sky. Abomasnow then turned to see Goss Harag charging at it on all fours.
Abomasnow fired an Ice Beam at the ground creating a giant wall of ice that Goss Harag just plowed straight through. But when it did, it saw that Abomasnow was gone. Goss Harag stopped its charge to look around for it.
It got its answer when giant icicles came down on it again. It roared in pain and used its arms to shield itself from the barrage of icicles. When it was over it uncovered its arms, only to get an Ice Punch to its cheek.
Goss Harag roared in anger and punched Abomasnow back on its cheek, sending it into the ground hard enough to form a crater. Goss Harag prepared to punch Abomasnow deeper into the ground when Abomasnow, using its arms, fling itself away from the punch. Abomasnow then jumped and punched Goss Harag on the face again with Ice Punch.
Goss Harag swiped Abomasnow away with a claw, Abomasnow tumbled across the ground but got up quickly with no injuries. Abomasnow ran at Goss Harag again, Goss Harag fired its icy beam to push Abomasnow away. Abomasnow didn't even try to dodge it and instead ran straight through it. When it was on close, Abomasnow tackled Goss Harag on the chest, knocking it on its back.
Abomasnow went up to its face and started to punch it rapidly with Ice Punches. Goss Harag, not letting itself become a punching bag, grabbed Abomasnow with one of its big claws, before standing up and slamming Abomasnow into the ground several times, before throwing Abomasnow through a rock pillar.
Not satisfied with that, Goss Harag then slammed both of its fists into the ground creating a shockwave and lines of rock to hit Abomasnow. Abomasnow was hit before it could even get up, and went high into the air before crashing down.
Goss Harag let out a big roar, letting all those around it know it was not a creature to be messed with. Before Goss Harag started to walk away, a giant rock was thrown at it, hitting its back. Turning around it saw that Abomasnow was far from dead. While it had bruise marks on its body and a line of blood was coming out of its mouth it was still relatively ok. That was all thanks to the Aurora that was still present in the sky. Abomasnow had used Aurora Veil to not only create that Aurora, but to also give itself a damage resistance boost. So that it can tank Goss Harag strong attacks better. It was thanks to Aurora Veil that Abomasnow was able to tank the beat Goss Harag had just given it with only somewhat minor injuries.
Goss Harag roared in anger that Abomasnow wasn't dead, causing its whole body to turn bright red, before spitting out its icy beam on both of its arms creating two blades of ice. It ran at Abomasnow slashing in an x formation with its blades.
Abomasnow leaped away before the attack could land and fire an Energy Ball, which was blocked by Goss Harag sword arms. Which slightly chip the blades but they were still intact. Goss Harag then started swinging the blades wildly. Abomasnow tried its best to dodge the wild swings, but was getting hit by most of them. With each hit leaving a small mark of its best thanks to the effects of Aurora Veil. But it seemed like fate wasn't on Abomasnow's side. As the Aurora above the sky disappeared, right when Abomasnow was hit by another sword swing.
"ABOMASNOW!" Abomasnow cried in pain, as it now had a large slash mark on its chest that was red with blood. Abomasnow in a panic fired a quick Energy Ball, which hit Goss Harag's chest, causing it to flinch. Abomasnow immediately jumped away, while firing another Ice Beam, which started to cover Goss Harag body in a layer of ice.
But Goss Harag just shook its body around and the ice broke. Not letting Abomasnow get the chance to get away, Goss Harag charged at Abomasnow with its blade in an x formation again just like before. This time Abomasnow couldn't dodge it and was just barely able to raise its arms to block it.
Abomasnow was sent tumbling across the ground pitifully, before getting up and thrusting both of its arms forward, while roaring. Suddenly the entire area was hit by a giant blizzard. The blizzard was powerful enough to push Goss Harag away and even knock it over. Goss Harag got back up and tried to push through the blizzard. While it was strong enough not to get knocked down again, it found it hard to see, even when it was accustomed to the blizzards of the Frost Island.
Eventually the blizzard suddenly stopped like it had never happened before. But Abomasnow had also disappeared with the blizzard too, and now Goss Harag was looking all over the place for it.
While it was searching for its opponent, Abomasnow was hiding behind a big rock atop of a cliff. It was in great pain as a good amount of blood was leaking from both its arms and chest. Seeing that it needed to do something about its wounds, Abomasnow concentrated and suddenly big roots came out of its body and planted themselves into the ground. As the roots planted themselves into the ground Abomasnow's body glowed green and its wounds were starting to heal themselves.
After a moment its wounds were healed, and its roots went back into its body. Once its Ingrain was over, Abomasnow peered behind the rock and saw that Goss Harag still hadn't found it. Abomasnow saw this as the perfect chance to end this battle with its strongest attack.
Waiting until Goss Harag back was facing it, Abomasnow leaped from its hiding spot and released its strongest attack Sheer Cold. A blast of cold air suddenly went forward towards Goss Harag, the cold air was so cold that everything in its path was instantly frozen, from the bugs and frogs to even the fish swimming in the shallow water, were turned into ice statues. Goss Harag heard this and leaped away, just barely escaping it. Even so, Goss Harag wasn't able to escape it completely, as a part of one of its feet got hit by the attack.
Goss Harag couldn't help but shiver from the attack, even when most of it missed. Looking down Gross Harag saw that the area that was hit was completely frozen. Goss Harag tried to move its foot to break the ice. But when the ice did break off, so did some of Goss Harag's toes.
Sheer Cold was such a powerful attack that even an ice resistance monster like Goss Harag wasn't safe from it.
Not happy at losing a part of itself no matter how small, Goss Harag turned to see Abomasnow atop a cliff, breathing heavily. Goss Harag roared and leaped high into the air and almost came crashing down on Abomasnow.
Abomasnow leaped off of the cliff landing on its feet, but was still breathing heavily, moves like Sheer Cold were powerful, but were also very exhausting to use. Abomasnow jumped away from its spot when it saw a big shadow coming down on it. Goss Harag missed its attempts to crash again, but while Abomasnow was still airborne. Fired a blast of its icy beam.
The beam hit Abomasnow, causing it to land on its back. Abomasnow got up fast, only to get slashed by Goss Harag on the chest again, reopening its previous wound. Goss Harag was about to slash again, but this time Abomasnow was able to catch the blade with one of its arms, stopping it.
While Abomasnow did manage to stop the blade from slashing it. Blood was coming out of its hand as the blade was cutting into it. Goss Harag tried to swing its other blade arm, when Abomasnow caught it too, stopping it as well as cutting into Abomasnow's hands. The two were now in a battle of strength with Goss Harag slowly pushing Abomasnow back and having its blades cut deeper into Abomasnow hands.
Seeing that Abomasnow was going to lose this, it fired an Energy Ball at Goss Harag's face. While it wasn't enough to push Goss Harag back, it was enough to cause it to flinch. Using the opportunity, Abomasnow let go and jumped at Goss Harag. Holding out of one its bleeding arms, it was suddenly covered in a green aura that took the form of a big hammer. Abomasnow slammed the Wood Hammer right at Goss Harag's face and there was a loud cracking sound.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Goss Harag screamed in pain, as a part of its face was broken, causing it to fall down.
Abomasnow recoiled as green lighting covered its body for a moment from the recoil damage of Wood Hammer. Ignoring the pain, Abomasnow attacked the downed Goss Harag. Abomasnow, using both of its arms, attacked the ice blades with Wood Hammer. After a few hits, Abomasnow was able to break one of them in half, before Goss Harag got back up.
Its face was very red, in a blind rage it swung the ice blade that wasn't broken down at Abomasnow. But Abomasnow was able to side step it, causing the ice blade to get stuck into the ground. Seeing the chance, Abomasnow slammed both of its Wood Hamers down on it, breaking it in half, before jumping away.
Goss Harag saw that both of its ice blades were broken, flinging both of them at Abomasnow. But Abomasnow had expected this and was able to dodge both of them, before retaliating with an Energy Ball, hitting it and now there were visible marks on its body from all the Energy Balls that hit it.
Goss Harag ran at Abomasnow on all fours, Abomasnow ran at Goss Harag too. Just before they were about to meet, Abomasnow jumped over and grabbed onto Goss Harag's back. Goss Harag naturally didn't like this and started to thrust around, but Abomasnow held on tight. Abomasnow started to make its way up, before punching Goss Harag's face with an Ice Punch.
Goss Harag then stood on its hind legs trying to reach Abomasnow with its arms, but they were too short to reach Abomasnow, so Abomasnow was able to keep hitting Goss Harag with Ice Punches. Abomasnow kept punching, causing crackings to form all over its face. Goss Harag then slammed its back into a cliff, trying to get Abomasnow off of it. Abomasnow cried out in pain from being slammed into the rocky cliff, but didn't let go and kept punching.
Goss Harag then went back on all fours and started running around as fast as it could, hoping that Abomasnow would lose its grip. But Abomasnow still didn't let go. Goss Harag saw a line of big rock pillars and started to run straight through them. This was enough to cause Abomasnow to let go, falling onto the ground in pain.
Abomasnow slowly got up and started to cough out some blood. Goss Harag was exhausted, but it was going to stop until Abomasnow was dead. Taking a deep breath Goss Harag which again covered its arms in its icy beam. One arm was another ice sword as expected, but the other one was a giant ball of ice looking like a hammer or shield.
Abomasnow looked at the new weapons Goss Harag and ready itself for what was likely the final round.
Goss Harag ran at Abomasnow sword at the ready. It slashed down, but Abomasnow avoided before jumping and hitting Goss Harag with a Wood Hammer, breaking more of its face. Goss Harag retaliated by hitting Abomasnow with its own hammer hitting Abomasnow on the chest. There was a loud crack sound from the hit and Abomasnow was sure something was broken.
Abomasnow when flying like a baseball hit by a bat, before crashing into a cliff. Abomasnow forced itself out and landed back on the ground face first. Getting up, it saw Goss Harag running at it. Abomasnow fired an Energy Ball, which Goss Harag blocked with its ice hammer. Goss Harag swung the sword down, but just like before missed and got it stuck into the ground.
Abomasnow jumped again and hit Goss Harag chest with two Wood Hammers, knocking it down. Abomasnow then started to punch Goss Harag's chest with Ice Punches. After a few punches Abomasnow raised both of its Ice Punches and slammed them into Goss Harag chest. Which resulted in a loud crack sound from Goss Harag this time.
Goss Harag roared in pain, before smacking Abomasnow away using its ice hammer. Goss Harag got up a bit slower this time, before turning to Abomasnow and firing its icy beam. Abomasnow was hit by it the moment it got back up on its feet. While the icy beam itself wasn't doing much damage, it was still pushing Abomasnow away.
Abomasnow was barely able to stop itself from falling on its back before moving out of the beam. Goss Harag then tried to move the icy beam around to hit Abomasnow. But Abomasnow jumped over it and fired an Icicle Crash above it.
Goss Harag raised both of its arms to shield itself from the attack. While both of Goss Harag were occupied, Abomasnow ran at Goss Harag with a Wood Hammer and hit one of Goss Harag's legs. Goss Harag roared in pain and was now on its knees. Before swinging its sword knocking Abomasnow away from it. Goss Harag ran and slammed down its ice hammer on Abomasnow. Abomasnow was just barely able to catch it, before being crushed. Once again they were in a battle of strength and Abomasnow was losing. Using one of its arms Abomasnow hit the ice hammer with a Wood Hammer causing some of it to break.
Seeing this Goss Harag jumped away to avoid losing its weapon. Goss Harag then swung its sword only for Abomasnow to hit it back with a Wood Hammer also breaking some of it. Goss Harag then fired its icy beam, which Abomasnow couldn't avoid so just tanked it and Punched its face with an Ice Punch, knocking it over.
Abomasnow jumped on Goss Harag's chest again and was able to beat on it again when Goss Harag was able to react this time and knocked Abomasnow with its broken ice hammer. Getting up both Abomasnow and Goss Harag went for a punch, one with a Wood Hammer and the other one with an ice hammer.
Both hammers hit each other and it was the ice hammer that lost, as it was broken to pieces. While Goss Harag may have lost its hammer, it regained its claw, and used it to grab Abomasnow.
Abomasnow while in Goss Harag massive claw fired an Energy Ball at Goss Harag face. At this point Goss Harag face had cracks everywhere and all of the horns on its head were gone. But that didn't matter to Goss Harag right now.
Goss Harag slammed Abomasnow down into the ground several times, before running and slamming Abomasnow through several rock pillars. Abomasnow tried to fight out of Goss Harag claw, but it was too weak to break free. When it seemed like Goss Harag ran out of pillars to smash Abomasnow through, it then threw Abomasnow hard into a rocky wall hard enough to form a big crater in it.
Abomasnow tried to move but it was just in too much pain. So much so, that it didn't even notice Goss Harag running at it.
"Abomasnow!" Abomasnow said weakly as Goss Harag ran and punched Abomasnow with its free claw. And once again there was a loud cracking noise heard after the impact. As well as Abomasnow throwing up a lot of blood now.
Goss Harag removed its fist and raised its sword arm high and slashed Abomasnow across the chest.
"ABOMASNOW!" Abomasnow screamed, now that it had a giant red line of blood across its chest. But Goss Harag was done and slashed again, creating another red line of blood on Abomasnow's chest. Goss Harag slashed again and again, with each slash spilling more blood. Before raising its now red color ice sword high and slashed so hard that the sword broke from the force of the swing.
Abomasnow didn't even scream after the last slash hit it and just stood there like it was a statue now. Goss Harag moved back a bit and keeped looking at Abomasnow waiting for it to do something. After waiting for a few more seconds, before Abomasnow did do something. Abomasnow's upper half fell off its body onto the ground with its lower half joining it a few seconds later.
Goss Harag looked at the now cut in half Abomasnow as it spilled blood like a river, before roaring into the skies letting everyone know that it was the king of the Frost Island.
K.O.
Well, that's one way to cut a tree.
So why does Goss Harag win?
Let's start at the beginning, when it came to who was stronger it was Goss Harag. Goss Harag is the apex predator of the Frost Islands for a reason. Being the apex its was above monsters like Barioth, who is on the same level as Rathalos. So Goss Harag was very high in the food chain and with strength being what it is known for it was going to be stronger than Abomasnow.
Abomasnow might have been able to fight Garchomp, but being able to fight it doesn't mean it scales to it. First it took two Abomasnows just to hold it back, and Abomasnow only really stands a chance because of its ice type. So Abomasnow wasn't on the same level as Garchomp.
So Goss Harag was both stronger and tougher than Abomasnow. Abomasnow really only had speed on its side. But that wouldn't help it as it just doesn't have enough power to take down Goss Harag, before Goss Harag would take down Abomasnow. Abomasnow ice type moves would still do damage, but would durability Goss Harag is, it was going to take a lot. And while its grass type moves would help, the only grass type moves that could do any real damage would be Energy Ball and Wood Hammer. With Wood Hammer having recoil damage.
Sheer Cold might have been able to do the damage needed to take down Goss Harag. But Sheer Cold is a move with terrible accuracy. And even if it did hit, with Goss Harag ice resistance it likely was going to one hit ko it. In the end Goss Harag was just a monster that was too strong for Abomasnow to take down. Moves like Ingrain and Aurora Veil would help keep it alive, but it just didn't have enough power to kill Goss Harag fast enough.
The winner is Goss Harag.
Winner: Goss Harag
+ Is stronger
+ Is tougher.
+ Could resist most of Abomasnow ice moves.
— Was slower.
Loser: Abomasnow
+ Is faster.
+ Has good moves for healing and defense.
— Was much weaker.
— Was much less durable.
— Its ice attacks did very little to Goss Harag.
And another battle done! Not much to say about this battle other than I thought it would be cool to do a battle between two ice monsters. That were both inspired by myths. Anyways let's get to the reviews!
AlmightyFiend: Thanks for the kind words! I do try my best when it comes to researching everything about the pokemon and monster. So the fight is both realistic and entertaining. For your recommended battle between Xerneas and Kirin. I could see that being a fun fight, sadly though it's a bit one sided. I like to do battles that don't have a very clear winner. Like I won't do a battle between Rathalos vs Rayquaza because everyone could tell who would win that fight.
So, I'm sorry to say but I won't be doing Xerneas vs Kirin, just because it's too one-sided. But that doesn't mean I won't use either of them in future battles. So feel free to recommend any other battles and maybe one of them will happen.
Personable: That's an interesting battle. Dalamadur vs Rayquaza sounds like a fun one to do, so maybe that will happen later. No promises though.
Ricardo753: Nice someone actually debating my battle, great! This is what I have been wanting since the first chapter. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Ok I'm using google translate to understand your review, as I don't understand spanish, but I'll try to answer this as best as I can. Hopefully I can get most of it right.
Let's start from the top. On the topic of Charizard speed. Even if we assume that Charizard isn't as fast as Pidgeot, it should still be faster than Rathalos. Let's assume that Charizard is just half the speed of Pidgeot. That would still be mach 1. Mach 1 is the speed of Valstrax, the fastest flier in all of monster hunter. And before you say that Charizard isn't even mach 1. Charizard was able to keep up with pokemon like Dragonite.
Dragonite is capable of circling the globe in 16 hours. Assuming that this is circling the middle of the earth and not going from the north pole to the south pole. That would be covering 7,925 miles in 16 hours. So divide 7,925 by 16, you get a rate of 495mph. That's almost 2/3 of mach one, mach one being 750mph.
Rathalos is a fast monster, but it hasn't shown anything like that, and it DEFINITELY ISN'T comparable to Valstrax speed. Even if Charizard isn't mach 1, it should still be faster than anything Rathalos has shown.
On the next topic of attacks, while big and powerful attacks take time to charge up, that doesn't mean all other attacks won't do damage. I mean Pikachu's Iron Tail is able to cut through stone and metal like paper. And that attack only takes a second to prepare. Sure attacks like Solar Beam might take a bit longer, but that doesn't mean all other attacks won't do damage. Charizard attacks like Dragon Claw or Air Slash would still do damage even if they aren't big powerful attacks like Hyper Beam or Giga Impact. Even weak attacks like Razor Leaf can cut through stone like nothing.
On to Charizard size. I'm using average size. So 5'07ft. While it's true that big pokemon tend to be strong and slow, and smaller pokemon tend to be weaker and faster. Pokemons are superpowered creatures and their size doesn't always reflect their strength. I mean look at Pikachu. He is only a foot tall, yet he can split boulders in half with his tail and was able to lift a Milotic over his head. A pokemon that is over 300 pounds. A Slowpoke was able to lift a Gyarados with its tail while fishing if I remember. And if you want to get ridiculous just look at Brock's Happiny. That pokemon must be on some steroids with the levels of strength it has shown to be capable of.
More examples are pokemon like, Cufant who can lift loads weighing over 5 tons, or over 10,000 pounds despite being only 3,11ft and weighing around 200 pounds. That's like lifting two whole cars at the same time. And the same thing is for big pokemon too. Arcanine is a big pokemon at the height of 6'03ft, but can travel 6,200 miles in a single day and night. So divided 6,200 miles by 24 hours, you get 258mph. Machamp can launch 1,000 punches in two seconds. Onix can move at 50mph through the ground. Garchomp is a big pokemon too, bigger than Charizard, but it's faster. With Garchomp being able to fly faster than a fighter jet. Something that flies at 1,900mph. Anyways I think I made my point. While it is true big pokemon can be slow and small pokemon can be fast. That ISN'T always the case.
While Rathalos's physical attacks would do damage against Charizard. It isn't like Charizard is made out of glass or something. Charizard and even lesser pokemon, can tank hits from pokemon powerful enough to destroy steel like its nothing. I mean just like at all the times, pokemon that were weaker than Charizard destroying Team Rocket's giant robots. These robots have to be at least made of steel. Yet most of the time, pokemons have no problems ripping them apart. Pokemon like Charizard are able to tank hits from pokemon like Machamp, a pokemon that can send a train flying with one punch, even other pseudo legendaries like Dragonite. Hell Charizard can tank Blastoise steel piercing water cannons directly to the face and keep going.
You bring up a good point with the fireball explosions. However there are still mostly explosions of fire, and while the kinetic energy of the fireballs might be able to do some damage. It's not like Charizard is getting hit with a missile. And even if it was, pokemon aren't strangers to attacks that cause explosions either. Most beam attacks like Hyper Beam, Solar Beam, Dragon Rage and so on cause huge explosions upon impacting their target. Rathalos's fireballs would probably be akin to cannonball fire. Powerful yes, but again pokemon aren't strangers to explosions, most special attacks cause much bigger explosions upon impact. Like they are getting hit by a physical object. So even if we focus solely on the impact, explosiveness and the kinetic energy of fireballs, it isn't going to be enough to really hurt Charizard given the fact pokemon, both stronger and weaker than Charizard tank attacks with much greater kinetic energy behind them. Then something that probably is only a little bit stronger than cannonball fire.
So no, even ignoring Charizard fire resistance, Rathalos fireballs aren't going to do much. Honestly Rathalos physical attacks would do more damage than its fireballs to Charizard.
And on to the topic of how clever Charizard is, well that's easy. Every pokemon has been shown to understand human speech. Pokemon have been shown smart even to build communities with other species of pokemon both in and out of the wild. Hell it was basically confirmed since the very beginning that pokemon were just as smart as humans with just one pokemon. That being Meowth. Meowth was just your everyday Meowth with nothing special about him. But he taught himself how to read, write and even talk. It wasn't because he was born with the ability to talk, or that he was something special. He was just an ordinary everyday pokemon that was no different than a street Rattata. But he became something more on his own through hard work and dedication. And legendary pokemon are DEFINITELY smarter than humans, at least some of them. One example is Mewtwo. Mewtwo was smart enough to organize an event that would gather the strongest trainers around and was smart enough to rebuild the cloning machines to clone nearly identical pokemon. If that doesn't show what the levels of intelligence pokemon are really capable of, then I don't know what is.
Now I understand that Charizard ISN'T that smart. But Charizard like any other pokemon should have at least enough intelligence to be comparable to a human. So once Charizard realized that its fire was useless, it would try other attacks. Which would lend it to eventually trying dragon type attacks. Also it's a death battle, it doesn't end until one of them is dead.
On to the poison, yes, it would be a problem, but as I have explained, Charizard's smaller size and greater speed is going to make it hard for Rathalos to actually hit Charizard to poison it. And even when it got poison, it is not like the poison is an instant kill. It's slow and will take time to kill Charizard. And poison isn't anything new to pokemon. Hell poison pokemon like Muk and Nidoking, pokemon that are naive to Charizard home probably have stronger poison than Rathalos.
Anyways you are right that this fight is 50/50. But Charizard just slightly has more things in its favor than Rathalos. Could Rathalos win? Absolutely. But Charizard just had enough advantages to clutch the win.
I'll end this by saying thank you for your thoughts on the fight and pointing out things you were against. I don't know if any of this helps to make some things clear, or not. But I hope to see you reading and reviewing my other battles. Reviews like these are what I want.
And even if you don't agree with any of this, I at least hope the battle was entertaining. Thanks again for your thoughts about the battle as well as putting your own points into it.
And that's all the reviews! Hope to see you guys enjoy this fight. And as always feel free to recommend any other fights you would like to see and one of them might happen down the road.
