Hello and welcome to this very special death battle! This will be the tenth death battle of this series and I plan to make it a good one! It will be the first tag team battle of this series and we are doing it with the pokemon and monster that started this series!
Mega Charizard X and Y vs Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian. The upgraded forms of the two creatures of the first death battle in a doubles match!

Mega Charizard X and Y
Starting this death battle are the two mega forms of one of the most popular pokemon in the franchise. Mega Charizard X and Y, you know you're pokemon's favorite child when you get two mega forms and the only other one that has two mega forms is a pokemon that's just as popular.
Attack Potency
Those two being the mega forms of Charizard have all the powers and abilities as the normal Charizard and more. Everything Charizard can do, these two can do much better. While they may be the more powerful forms of Charizard, Charizard X and Y each specialize in different categories.
Charizard X specializes in physical attacks and Charizard Y specializes in special attacks.
Charizard X is a dragon and fire type pokemon, this gives it great typing as it gets rid of its biggest weakness to rock, as well as give it extra resistance to fire. Not only has it gained a new typing be also a new ability Tough Claws increase the power of all contact moves, making Charizard X a pokemon great at close quarters combat, with moves like Dragon Claw, Dragon Tail, Dragon Rush, Fire Fang, Flare Blitz and more. But Charizard X hasn't lost any power for its special attack side, it can use moves like Flamethrower, Blast Burn, Dragon Pulse and can even increase its physical power and speed with Dragon Dance.
Also given that Charizard X is always seen using blue fire, its flames must be at least 3000 degrees fahrenheit or 1650 celsius.
For Charizard Y its typing doesn't change, but it gains an incredible increase to its special power, making it great for dishing out a lot of fire power. It too gains a new ability, an ability called Drought which upon entering battle sets up a condition called Sunny Day which greatly powers up all fire type attacks. Which it has a lot of, moves like, Flamethrower, Heatwave, Fire Spin, Inferno, Fire Blast, Overheat and of course Blast Burn. For moves outside of fire it's got Air Slash, Hurricane and even Solar Beam. It also seems to get an increase to its speed and mobility as the pokedex says the Charizard Y has greater speed and maneuverability than a jet fighter.
While we wouldn't be using any Mega Charizards that are owned by trainers like Alain's mega Charizard, mega pokemon are very powerful. Mega Charizard X and Y should be able to fight against other megas, like the other mega starters and megas like Salamence, Metagross, Garchomp and others.
Feats
—Mega Charizard X and Y should be able to fight other megas.
—Anything Charizard could do mega Charizard X and Y should be able to do better.
Durability
Mega Charizard X and Y are still glass cannons more or less, but thanks to their mega forms they can take much more of a beating. With Charizard X it becomes tougher with its physical bulk and with Charizard Y it becomes tougher with its special bulk, it can even heal itself with Roost. With Charizard X since its typing has changed it has gained an even greater resistance to fire. And while we won't be using any owned Mega Charizards, it has been seen that Charizard X can take hits from Mega Metagross and keep going.
Feats
—Is capable of taking hits from other powerful megas like Mega Metagross.
—Mega evolution increases their defense too.
Speed
In the speed department they are still capable of supersonic speeds, with the pokedex saying that Charizard Y gains an increase to its speed, so it's most likely that Charizard X also gains an increase to its speed too. Likely putting them around Hypersonic speeds.
Feats
—Mega evolution increases all of their stats, so their speed also gets a big increase.
—Should be able to keep up with other megas like Garchomp, which regular Garchomp can fly faster than a fighter jet.
Weakness
Charizard X and Y still have their elemental weakness, with Charizard X being weak to ground, rock and dragon attacks. While Charizard Y is weak to water, electric and rock attacks.
—Both are weak to rock attacks.
—Charizard X is weak to ground and dragon attacks.
—Charizard Y is weak to water and electric attacks.
Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian
Next are the two dragons that represent the sun and moon, The Silver Sun Rathalos and the Golden Moon Rathian. These two are rare subspecies of their normal counterparts and they are arguably the strongest of their subspecies family.
Attack Potency
These two have been seen going up against monsters that no Rathalos or Rathian could hope to go up against. They are so strong that some would rank them as elder dragon level threats. This isn't too far exaggerated as in Monster Hunter Rise, we see them going up against some truly powerful monsters. Like how Silver Rathalos killed a Bazelgeuse with fire and how Gold Rathian was able to hold her own against a Kushala Daora with her poison.
Speaking of that, like the Charizards above they too have categories they specialize in. Silver specializes in fire power. Its fire is so strong that it was able to burn alive a Bazelgeuse a monster that's arguably on the same level with monster like Rajang and Deviljho on top of that Bazelgeuse are very fire resistant so the fact that Silver can kill Bazelgeuse with an element that Bazelgeuse should be immune should show how powerful Silver's fire really is.
On Gold's side, she specializes in very strong poison. She can inflict a poison that is many times stronger than her normal counterpart. It was thanks to this poison that she was able to fight and even push back a Kushala Daora, an elder dragon. But that doesn't mean her fire isn't strong too. In fact, both the Silver and Gold can enter a mode called Incandescent State, in which their head, chest and parts of their wings glow with red and blue flames, increasing their fire power even more.
Feats
—Silver and Gold can fight monsters that are near or are elder dragons.
—Silver and Gold can enter a mode to increase their fire power even more.
Durability
Both Silver and Gold have great durability as they are protected by scales that are many times harder than their normal counterparts. Their scales are somewhat similar to Kushala Daora in that they are actually metallic in nature. In fact, it is likely thanks to this that their weaknesses change. The normal Rathalos and Rathian are very weak to dragon, but with Silver and Gold, they are actually immune to it. Outside of just element resistances their metallic armor helps them go up against some truly powerful monsters, even allowing them to take attacks from elder dragons.
Feats
—Silver and Gold scales are metallic which gives them far better defenses than their normal counterparts.
— Silver and Gold are able to take hits from very powerful monsters and even elder dragons.
Speed
One might think because of their metallic scales they would be slower, and less agile, but that isn't the case. In fact, it seems to be the exact opposite. One great example of speed and agility was when Silver was able to dodge a rain of Bazelgeuse's scales and was able to outmaneuver them, since Silver and Gold are equals, Gold should be just as agile as Silver. And Gold was even seen dodging attacks from a Kushala Daora.
Feats
— Silver was able to dodge Bazelgeuse's scales.

Weakness
While Silver and Gold aren't weak to dragon, like their normal counterparts, they are however both weak to thunder with Gold being more weak lighting than Silver is, and Silver being more weak to water than is Gold. And while they may have a power up mode with Incandescent State, they can be knocked out of it with enough damage to the head.
—Both can lose their Incandescent State with enough damage.
—Silver is weak to water and lighting.
—Gold is weak to lighting and water.
Ok now that's out of the way, who is ready for a very special death battle!
(Forlorn Arena)
The Forlorn Arena. Or some simply call it the Tower. However, whatever you call it, it doesn't matter. As this once great structure now lays abandoned and rotting away. Nothing lives here, except some of the strangers and strongest monsters. Despite how horrible this place seems like it would be hell to live here. Monsters can still find a place to call home here.
And that's exactly what two pairs of monsters that were heading there for.
On one side high above the clouds a pair of two big metallic dragons were flying to the top of the tower, to claim a territory for themselves. Silver and Gold were looking for a safe place to claim for their future hatchlings. The couple had decided this was a good and safe place for their future young.
But they weren't the only ones who had the same idea.
On the other side of the tower. A much smaller pair of dragons were flying to the top of the tower as well. They too wanted to claim a territory for themselves and their future hatchlings. Both X and Y saw this place as a good safe place to raise their young. They decided that the top was a good place.
And just like that both couples landed on the same area of the tower. Both of them looked at the other couple, before Silver and Gold roared loudly, letting X and Y know this was their territory now. But X and Y only roared back, not intimidated by the two bigger dragons, and roared back letting Silver and Gold they weren't going anywhere.
And just like that a battle of two pairs of dragons had begun.
Fight!
Both pairs of dragons roared again, before attacking. Silver and Gold shot fire balls, and X and Y shot back with Flamethrowers. Both fire attacks were also powered up thanks to Y Drought. The fire attacks hit each other causing a giant explosion that created a giant smokescreen. A moment later Silver came charging out of the smokescreen. Silver hit X with his head and the two of them went off the top of the tower.
Y cried out, before she flew to help her mate, with Gold following behind.
Silver flew across the skies with X still on his head. X eventually regained some control and slashed down on Silver's head with a Dragon Claw. The glowing claw hit directly on Silver's head, but Silver barely flinched.
X decided that he needed to get off of Silver first, so with some effort X managed to escape from Silver's head, by climbing over it.
Now off, X needed a moment to regain his flight control. While X was doing that, Silver turned around and started to fly at X with his mouth wide open. But before Silver could get close to X, a Fire Blast that was bigger than Silver's head hit him right in the face. While Silver was immune to fire, he wasn't completely immune to all fire. And the Fire Blast was powerful enough to cause some pain, if only enough to stop Silver's attack.
Now that Y's Fire Blast had stopped Silver. She flew at him with such speed that she broke the sound barrier several times over. With long glow nails she attacked Silver with Slash. She flew around Silver and with her speed, she was able to slash Silver dozens of times in a second. Despite this, her attacks seemed to leave only small cuts.
X saw this and decided that he needed to help her. X was about to fire an attack, when he was suddenly hit by a powerful fireball that exploded. Gold has finally caught up and was now ready to help her mate.
Gold looked to see what damage her fireball did to X. When the smoke cleared X was unharmed. X's typing made him very resistant to fire. So, X wasn't harmed by the fireball. Instead, X turned to face Gold and fired a Flamethrower at Gold.
Gold just flew at X not caring that the Flamethrower was hitting her, even when it was hitting her face. Stopping the attack, X flew over Gold and while flying over, he slashed down her body with Dragon Claws.
With the other two dragons, Y was still slashing at Silver. Silver had tried to catch her. But her speed and size made it so that it was like someone trying to catch a fly with their hands. Silver turned to see X and Gold fighting.
Deciding that Y wasn't a priority, Silver flew to help Gold.
Seeing this Y stopped her attack and cried out a warning to her mate. Hearing the warning X was just able to fly out of the way of Silver. Now that Silver's attack had missed, X fired at Silver with a Dragon Pulse.
The beam shaped like a dragon hit Silver. Before X could see the results of his attack, Gold flew up and hit X with her big tail. Luckily X wasn't hit by the spike ends. But the attack was still powerful enough to send X down.
Y cried out as she saw X fall below the clouds. But she didn't have time to help him, as Silver was flying towards her now. Seeing this, Y's wings glow before flapping them, and send a massive barrage of Air Slashes.
To her surprise Silver was agile enough to dodge most of them, with only a few hitting him. Silver was just able to bite into Y, when she used her speed to fly under Silver, before he could eat her.
While she was under Silver she fired a Fire Blast that hit his underbelly, just before Silver flew past her. But she only had a second to breathe before Gold tried the same thing with Gold flying behind her ready to bite. However, Y still proved to be the superior flier and just barely avoided it by flying up.
While she had dodge Gold's attack, she however wasn't able to dodge the giant fireball that hit her. Despite her typing and being good at tanking non-physical attacks, the fireball was powerful enough to blast her back and she almost lost control of her flight.
After regaining her flight control, she looked to see both Silver and Gold roaring at her, before flying at her.
But before they could even get close, a Dragon Pulse came from below the clouds and hit Silver. Silver stopped his advance because of the attack, as X came flying at Silver with his wings now bigger and glowing like metal.
X used his Steel Wing to cut Silver below from the tail to the under chin. But the attacks did little damage and Silver was more angry than hurt.
But X was now back in the fight, so Y won't have to fight alone.
While Silver had been stopped, Gold hadn't. So, she was still going after Y. But just like before Y was easily outmaneuvering Gold. While Gold was hopeless trying to catch Y. X was more aggressive, attacking Silver the best he could. He tried his Dragon Claws, Flamethrowers, and even more Dragon Pulses. But all his attacks seem to do very little damage.
It was clear that X needed more power. X fired another Dragon Pulse that hit Silver. At this point Silver stopped dodging X's attacks, as Silver could see that they were not very effective. So, Silver took the attack head on. While the attack didn't really hurt Silver, the Dragon Pulse had created a smokescreen.
A smokescreen that X took advantage of.
Now having a moment, X used Dragon Dance, increasing his power and speed. X had finished his dance just in time as Silver came out of the smoke. X flew up into the air with Silver flying after him.
When X was high enough, he turned around and flew down at Silver while being covered in fire. X was covered in so much fire that he looked like a small blue meteor.
Silver couldn't dodge the attack as X's Dragon Dance made X too fast to dodge.
X's Flare Blitz hit Silver's chest, with the momentum that X had built up and the Dragon Dance increasing the Flare Blitz, the force of the attack was enough to push Silver down hard and the two of them went below the clouds.
Leaving Gold and Y alone.
(With X and Silver)
X and Silver fall down fast, before they crash down onto the stone floors outside of the tower, which had a field of giant stone pillars everywhere. X was still on top of Silver's chest and quickly flew away from him, as Silver got back up. Silver roared at X before charging at him. X roared back and charged with Dragon Claws at the ready.
Silver tried to go for a bite, but X was able to dodge it by side stepping and ran a Dragon Claw on the side of Silver's face as well as running behind Silver. But Silver didn't stop attacking and quickly turned his massive head around very fast, using it to hit X.
Silver's big hard metal head hit X and knocked him far, like a ball hit by a baseball bat. X crushed through one of the stone pillars. X quickly got his flight control, so that he wouldn't fall. Just in time too, as Silver was flying towards X from beneath him with a wide open mouth.
X fired back with a Dragon Pulse that hit Silver's face directly, causing Silver to stop advancing. X wasn't going to give Silver a chance to recover and slammed Silver with a Dragon Tail to the face.
The Dragon Tail had great knock back and so Silver went crushing down. X used this chance to use Dragon Dance, before flying towards Silver. Before Silver could get back up, X had grabbed him by the tail. Using the increased power of Dragon Dance, X started to lift and spin the massive metal dragon. X kept spinning Silver until he was starting to create a small tornado, before finally letting go.
Silver crushed through several giant stone pillars, before stopping at one. Which started to fall apart and bury Silver with giant rocks.
X roared to the skies, but this was far from over.
A second later Silver burst out of the rubble with a mouth of fire, before firing a huge fireball. The fire ball hit X and X was sent flying away with steam coming off of him. X landed roughly on the stone floor, before getting up. Even with X's typing Silver's fire was still powerful enough to do some real damage.
X heard Silver's roar and looked up to see another fireball coming down. X quickly fired a Flamethrower, which canceled both attacks creating a big smokescreen. Knowing that Silver was going to come, X flew right into the smokescreen right at the same time as Silver did.
While both dragons couldn't really see X didn't need to see. As the moment X took flight, he covered himself in a bright blue energy that took the form of a dragon. X's Dragon Rush hit Silver in the face, not only causing a roar of pain, but also knocking Silver away.
Silver almost hit the ground, before regaining his flight. Silver roared in anger and started to fire fireballs at X in rapid successions. While X wasn't as fast as Y, he was still faster than Silver and had very little trouble dodging the fireballs. As he dodged the fireballs, X would fly at Silver hitting him with Dragon Claws or Steel Wings.
Silver only grew more and more angrier the more X dodged and attacked him. Even when the attacks themselves were doing much damage.
X flew at Silver again with a Dragon Claw, just before X could get close, Silver did something that X wasn't ready for.
Just when X was getting close, Silver suddenly did what can only be described as a front flip midair. Not only did this make X miss his Dragon Claw, but it also let Silver get a hit, as near the end of the flip Silver's big metal tail, hit X from atop, like a mace.
X went down like a crashing airplane, hard enough to form a crater. X was dazed from the sudden attack, so he was left wide open. Silver, seeing that X was down, charged up a fireball. There was so much fire that Silver's head started to shake, like Silver himself was having trouble containing it. Before finally releasing it.
The fireball was nearly the size of Silver himself and much of the fire was colored blue. X only had enough time to look up and see the massive fireball, before it hit him.
BOOOOOOOM
An explosion of fire that was so massive it formed a small mushroom cloud of smoke that could be seen miles away.
Roaring, Silver could see a giant hole was now there thanks to his attack and so Silver flew down there to make sure that X was dead.
(Back with Y and Gold)
Y looked to see that both X and Silver were falling below the clouds. Y wanted to go and help, but a loud roar stopped her, and she just barely dodged a fireball. Gold flew at Y shooting as many fireballs as possible. But of course, this was all in vain as Y maneuvered out of the way of the fireballs.
Y had also fired back with Flamethrowers, which all hit Gold. But her Flamethrower didn't even make Gold flinch, so this was where they were both at. Y easily dodging Gold fireballs and Gold easily tanking Y Flamethrowers. A true stalemate. One that would have no winner or loser, and both of them didn't want that.
Y fired a Fire Blast that hit Gold, but Gold wasn't even slowed down, and just fired back.
Y growled in annoyance as she needed to help her mate and stop wasting time in this power struggle. She looked around her surroundings, but of course all there was, was just open skies with a giant tower in the middle of it.
Wait.
Looking at the tower Y suddenly had an idea.
Y turned and roared back at Gold, making sure that she would follow her. Of course Gold wasn't going to stop her chase and if anything, flew faster at Y. Y then flew towards the tower with Gold following behind.
Y then looked to see that while the middle of the tower was one giant structure, it had many other smaller towers that both weren't and were connected to it. Y flew through the many lines of towers, weaving through them with ease. Her small size and extraordinarily maneuverability made flying through this sea of smaller towers easy for her.
The same couldn't be said about Gold though. While Gold also possessed extraordinarily maneuverability too, it wasn't on the same level as Y. And even then, Y had something that Gold didn't. Her smaller size.
Gold had more than a few close calls when it came to avoiding crashing headfirst into a giant stone tower. She would normally slow down, but her desire to catch Y made her only want to keep flying at the same speed. Gold could still see Y in front of her, she wanted to try shooting a fireball, but she could barely avoid crashing into a tower, never mind trying to shoot while dodging these towers.
As she continued to chase after Y, Y suddenly turned around and fired a Fire Blast.
But not at her, the Fire Blast completely missed her going up higher than she was.
Gold looked to where Y had fired the Fire Blast and why she didn't try to hit her with it. She got her answer soon, as the Fire Blast hit one of the giant tower bridges that were above them. The Fire Blast destroyed the bridge, causing a giant avalanche of giant rocks to fall.
Right where Gold was flying towards.
Gold couldn't possibly stop herself in time, as the avalanche crashed right atop of her. Dozens of tons of stone fell atop her like a waterfall, as all that Gold could do was roar in agony, as she lost control of her flight and plummeted down beneath the clouds.
Y looked at the result of her plan and gave a small sign of relief. She doubted that was going to be enough to kill Gold. But at the very least she could go and try to find and help her mate now. Y looked around seeing the endless line of structures that seem to never end.
Looking like this might take a while.
BOOOOOOOM
Y's head snapped into the direction of the sound and saw a giant mushroom cloud of smoke miles away. Looks like she found her mate. With that she flew into the direction of the explosion at several times the speed of sound. With her speed she could only hope that she would be fast enough to help her mate.
(Back with X and Silver)
Silver landed in a giant room once he went into the hole. Silver found that it was pitch dark here, with only the hole filling the room with light. Silver then fired a fireball that hit a wall, lighting the room more with the fire.
The room was still very dark, and Silver couldn't really see clearly. Silver walked around the room looking for X. What he didn't see was the small bright blue flames behind.
X flew high above Silver, just as Silver turned around to face X. X crashed down on Silver with a Dragon Rush.
Silver screamed in pain and surprised as the Dragon Rush slammed atop Silver's back, smashing Silver straight through the floor, and not just one floor, but several floors, before stopping.
When Silver had stopped going through the floor, X started slashing Silver's back with Dragon Claws. Not liking this, Silver started flailing around, crashing into random things like old tables, chairs and all kinds of things that were left here.
X held firm though and kept slashing, while X's Dragon Claws weren't effective on Silver, they started to damage Silver's tough metal armor. Silver suddenly flew up and slammed his back against the roof, with Silver being crushed between him and the roof.
Silver did this several times, before X got off of him. X didn't land on his feet and rolled several times on the floor. Silver turned to face X, while it was still very dark, X blue flame on his tail made it much easier to see where he was.
Silver, fired a fireball, which both hit X and lit up the area. X roared in pain, Silver's fireballs had proven to be powerful enough to damage X even with his typing that gave him incredible fire resistance, Silver's fireballs were enough to make that resistance only do so much.
And that giant fireball from early was enough to leave burns all over his body. X slowly got up, but Silver was ready to come down on X.
"CHARRRR!"
Only for a Fire Blast to hit Silver before he could come down on the X. The Fire Blast didn't do much. But it gave X even time to get away from Silver, as Y came flying towards Silver. Her wings glowed blue as she fired Air Slashes, which was enough to push Silver back a bit.
Now that Y had given X time to recover, X flew right at Silver and hit him with a Dragon Tail right at the chest, which knocked Silver through a wall and into what looked like a giant hallway. Silver got up just in time to have a Fire Blast hit his face. Silver stepped back, but didn't go down.
Silver roared in anger and fired fireballs randomly, setting the hall on fire. With everything on fire now, all dragons could see each other clearly. X was the first to act, coming at Silver with a Dragon Claw. Silver fired a fireball, which X easily dodged and slashed at his head. Silver tried to go for a bite, only to bite air as X flew away. Before Silver could do something, Air Slashes hit his face too.
Silver roared in anger and fired a fireball at Y, but Y just dodged it and her body glowed blue, before she suddenly flew past Silver. She had moved so fast that it looked like she had teleported. Silver turned around to face her, just before he was about to attack, he felt something wet on his head now. It wasn't long before whatever it was started to drip down his forehead and onto the ground.
It was blood.
For a moment all dragons stop to look at it. Both of X and Y attacks to Silver's head were starting to damage it. With Y's Aerial Ace being the last attack to cause the bleeding. It wasn't a lot, just a small area that was leaking blood. But it set the message.
Seeing the blood Silver let out his loudest roar yet. It was so loud that both X and Y couldn't help but cover their ears. But that wasn't the end of that. Silver suddenly burst into flames, or that's what it looked like for a moment.
Both X and Y looked at Silver and were shocked at what they saw. Silver body seemed to be glowing with fire, mainly his head, chest and parts of his wings that looked like they were burning from the inside. Despite that both X and Y could tell that whatever that had happened to Silver wasn't a bad thing for him. It was a bad thing for them.
Silver shot a fireball, both X and Y were able to dodge it, but they weren't able to dodge the aftermath. The moment the fireball hit the wall behind them, it exploded with so much power that both X and Y were fling to the sides by the shockwave of the attack.
This was the power of Silver's Incandescent State. With it his fire power now off the charts now. Silver could see how his fireballs were powerful enough to be dangerous to X and Y, even if they dodged it. And Silver wasn't kind enough to give X or Y time to recover and went on the attack.
Silver charged at X, X tried to fly away, but he was just a second too late. Silver bit X hard by his midsection. X screamed in pain as he not only felt the powerful jaws, but the flame that was overflowing in Silver's mouth, hot enough now to make his fire resistance barely matter now against it.
"CHARIZARD!"
Y roared and fired a Fire Blast at Silver's head, she wasn't done as she then fired Air Slashes at a machine gun rate. Thankfully that was enough to make Silver let go of X. X immediately flew away the second he could. X took a second to look at the damage done to him and was surprised by what he saw.
Outside of the big bite mark that was now on his chest, his body had severe burns that were enough to make his skin look like charcoal.
"CHAR!"
X's head shot up when he heard Y's roar, she was keeping Silver busy doing her best to dodge his attacks. X needed to help. X flew Silver's behind and hit him with a Dragon Tail, the attack knocked Silver away from Y, giving her some room. Y fired Air Slashes hoping to push Silver back more.
While the Air Slashes did push back Silver, it wasn't enough to stop him. Silver fired back with a fireball, remembering what happened last time, both X and Y immediately flew away from Silver as fast as possible.
Thankfully them being more prepared this time saved them from losing their flight control from the aftermath of the fireball missing. But it did stop X and Y from attacking. Using this Silver charged after X again as he was easier to catch. While that was true X was still able to avoid, Silver's charges and bites.
X flew up to avoid another bit. And did a flip midair so that his Dragon Tail would hit the top of Silver's head. Silver's head hit the ground hard, causing cracks on the stone floor. Before Silver could get up, Y fired a Fire Blash right at Silver's face.
Silver roared in anger and went after Y in a fit of rage, but of course Y had no problem dodging Silver's attacks. While Y was keeping Silver busy, X started using Dragon Dance twice. When X was done X charged at Silver a Dragon Claw and slashed at one of Silver's legs.
Silver stopped his attack on Y and screamed in pain, as the Dragon Claw that was powered by two Dragon Dances were enough to draw blood, leaving a long claw mark on his scales. Silver quickly turned to bite X, but with X's new speed, his speed now rivaled Y's speed.
Silver tried to hit X, but couldn't and with each attack that missed X slashed back with Dragon Claw and each Dragon Claw cutting into Silver. Y then shot Air Slashes on Silver's back, while it didn't do much, it was enough to cause Silver to flinch. Which was all that X needed, as X suddenly did a flip and hit Silver with a Dragon Tail right under his chin.
Silver's body went up into the air and still having the increased power and speed of Dragon Dance, X flew at Silver's chest with a Dragon Rush. Silver cried in pain as he was sent flying back far and hit the floor hard.
Silver fought through the pain and roared at X, while he was still standing there was now a visible mark on his chest. Before Silver could do anything else, a barrage of Air Slashes hit him, knocking him back down.
Both X and Y were flying high in the air, and they could see that their attacks were starting to make some real progress. And with the two of them working together they could kill Silver. But X and Y flew at Silver, who was still on the ground. Silver seeing both X and Y coming toward him, roared at them in anger.
And X and Y roared back. Both were able to meet each other when—
"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"
A loud roar was heard and neither Silver, or X and Y were the ones to roar.
Bursting from a nearby wall, Gold appeared roaring in anger.
(When Gold had been hit by the rocks)
Gold roared in anger, but her roars were cut short, when she finally hit the ground. She crashed hard and was buried under dozens of tons of rock. A moment later she burst out of the pile roaring in pure rage.
The fall had hurt her greatly, as one would think after falling thousands of feet from the air with an avalanche of rocks coming down on you. But Gold was far from dead and wasn't going to stop until both X and Y were dead.
She then spent her time trying to find them or Silver, she of course was having trouble doing that, in such a big place. It was only when she heard her mate's loudest roar. A roar that was not only a roar of rage, but a roar for help too. It was also the roar she and her mate would use when going into their Incandescent State. With her mate's location she flew as fast as she could to help him.
(Back to the present)
Both X and Y and even Silver didn't expect Gold to suddenly appear like that. Gold used her surprised appearance to attack Y, Gold went for a bite, and Y just barely avoided the bite, while Y was able to fly back from the bite, Gold wasn't done. While still in the air Gold suddenly turned around fast, which caused Y to be hit by her tail spikes.
Y cried in pain, as she felt several spikes stab into her, knocking her down. X was about to hit Gold with a Dragon Claw, but Gold had turned back around and shot a fireball that also knocked X down.
Gold then landed and went over to her mate to make sure he was alright. While that was happening X and Y got back up, or at least X did. As the moment Y tried to get back up, she suddenly started coughing violently so much that she was even coughing out blood. X turned to see what was wrong with her and he noticed pieces of spikes were stabbed into her.
X grabbed one of the smaller spikes and pulled it out, while he did expect some blood to come out, what he didn't expect was a large amount of purple like goo to come out covering a bit of the spike. Both X and Y could tell this wasn't good and Y knew immediately what she was feeling.
She was poisoned.
Before X and Y could do anything, two big fireballs hit them, sending them flying away in pain. Both had a rough landing on the stone floor. X was struggling to get up, while Y was still on the floor coughing out blood.
Gold and Silver was rushing towards them fast. Fighting through the pain, Y stood up and flipped her wings hard. Instead of Air Slashes like always what happened next was a big hurricane appearing out of nowhere.
The Hurricane was enough to stop the rush and even picked both Silver and Gold up into the air. While in the Hurricane X used Dragon Rush aiming to hit one of them. It was a little hard to aim which one he wanted to hit, since both Silver and Gold were being tossed around in a big hurricane, but he wasn't going to be pickly right now.
X's Dragon Rush hit Gold.
The two of them flew out of the hurricane and through some walls, before X aimed down with his Dragon Rush sending both him and Gold deeper into the tower.
While that was happening, Y managed to get up properly just in time for the Hurricane to end. When it ended Silver fell to the floor dazed. It seemed like Silver was left confused by the Hurricane. Using this chance Y let her body rest for a moment as she did her body glowed blue, and her wounds started to heal. When her Roost was done most of her wounds had healed up. But she was still injured.
And as if to remind her that she was still far from fully healed she started coughing out blood again, albeit in smaller amounts, then before. While her Roost could heal wounds, it couldn't help things like poisons.
Turning to face Silver, she could see that he was shaking his head before looking at her with clear focus. It seems like the confusion was over, at the very least the confusion had given her the time to heal up a bit.
Both dragons looked at each other intensely getting ready for the next round.
(With Gold and X)
Both Gold and X were crashing through floor after floor before they found themself in a giant room that looked like the entrance to the main hall with many bridges and entrances throughout the area.
Both Gold and X hit the floor hard, creating a giant cloud of dust. X flew out of the dust cloud and fired a Dragon Pulse right at it, causing an explosion. A moment later a fireball hit X knocking him back, as Gold flew up into the air to meet him.
Gold started shooting more fireballs, with X dodging most of them. X came at Gold with Dragon Claws slashing her as he flew past her several times. But this still wasn't doing enough damage fast enough for X. X then started to use Dragon Dance to hopefully be able to do enough damage.
Gold wasn't just going to let that happen and flew at X. X had just finished his Dragon Dance, when Gold bit him. X roared in pain and before he could try to get out of Gold's mouth, she suddenly let go, by tossing X downwards.
X was able to stop his fall before hitting the floor, but he wasn't able to stay in the air when Gold's giant tail hit him from the top of his head. X crashed down hard, and Gold wasn't done. Gold fired a fully charged fireball causing a giant fiery explosion.
Gold then landed down on the floor, and ran towards the down X. X was just getting up when Gold turned around and hit X with her tail, making sure that her poison spikes would hit X this time.
X crashed through a wall and hit the wall behind it hard enough to crack it. Which was enough for the broken bridge above him to fall right on him and was buried under the rubble. Gold looked at what happened to X. A reminder of what Y did to her early, so in a way it was satisfying to see it happened to one of her opponents. Gold started walking towards the pile, when suddenly the pile exploded with powerful force. So much so that some of the rubble hit her face temporarily blinding her.
When her vision returned, she saw a small claw that was clutch like a fist hitting her in the face. One would think that a small claw hitting a giant metal dragon would result in the small claw breaking itself against the metal dragon. But in this instant the basic laws of physics weren't working.
Gold felt like a charging Diablos hit her head the moment X's claw hit her and she was sent flying back at an incredible for the powerful punch. Which was also powerful enough to leave a dent on her metal scales.
Gold got up and turned to see what had happened to X and she was shocked to say the least. X was standing there, with muscles clenched hard, but what really made her shocked was the fact that X was literally glowing red with rage. X's entire body was glowing bright red, even X's eyes were glowing red with rage.
X roared the loudest he did so far as he felt the power and rage of his Outrage and ran at Gold. Gold couldn't do anything fast enough as both the Outrage and Dragon Dance made X much faster than before.
X came and uppercut Gold under the chin. She went upwards high, but before she could higher, X grabbed her tail and slammed her back down. Gold started to charge up a fireball, but X punched her on her throat, cutting off the attack.
X then slammed both of his claws down on one of Gold's legs and a large amount scales were blasted off from the power of the attack. Gold cried in pain and tried to get away from X, but before she could get far, X grabbed her tail again.
X then lifted Gold and slammed her down hard. Before doing it again and again and again. X kept slamming Gold like she was a ragdoll. X only stopped when he suddenly coughed out a large amount of blood. A tell tale sign of being poisoned by Gold from her tail attacks.
X then spun around a few times before letting go of Gold and letting her crash through a wall. X was breathing heavily with the poison now taking effect and he could feel that his Dragon Dance had ended. But his Outrage was still going so he started to run to where Gold had been thrown.
He didn't get that far when an explosion of fire appeared where Gold was and a second later a massive fireball hit him. X went down from the attack, but got back up to see that Gold was now in her Incandescent State, just like how Silver was before.
Gold fired more fireballs at X, but rather than try and dodge them, X fueled by Outrage chose to run straight through them. Even with X's typing against fire, the Incandescent State made Gold's fireballs powerful enough to leave burns. But X didn't stop going, Outrage made dealing with the pain bearable.
When X did make it to Gold, X punched Gold hard right at the head. Which was enough to stop her attack. X then tackled Gold pushing her on her back. X was now on her chest, which was glowing hot with heat, enough that X had flinched from the heat of it.
X punched her chest which got a cry of pain from Gold, but before he could punch again, he had a coughing attack from the poison. Using this Gold started to back away fast and kick X off of her, which worked.
X was off of Gold and Gold was quickly getting back on her feet. She was about to fire a charged fireball when at the last moment X punched her right in the jaw. This caused the fireball that was ready in her mouth to explode right in her mouth.
As one could expect Gold was in pain from having a fireball explode in your mouth, but X didn't come off scot free from it. Being so close to the explosion, X was blown away from it while Gold was just stumbling back.
Gold took a moment to have her own coughing attack from having something explode in her. When she was done, she looked to see how X was doing. X was getting up and looked to be overall fine from the explosion.
But one thing she noticed was that the bright red glow that covered X's body was rapidly fading. When it was completely gone, X seemed to be in a daze. His head was going around in circles, and he didn't seem to know what was going on.
That was because his Outrage had ended, and with it came the downside of using it. Leaving the user confused and vulnerable to attacks. An opportunity that Gold wasn't going to pass up.
Rather than do something like shoot another fireball, Gold instead ran at X full speed. X was still in a dazed and only turned his head in time to face Gold when Gold bit into X with her big mouth.
Even in X's confused state he could still feel pain and cried out. Gold just kept running with X being held in her mouth as she tried to crush him between her teeth. She kept running through walls before she made it out of the build and flew into the air with a helpless X in her mouth.
(With Silver and Y)
Y once again fired another Fire Blast as she avoided another fireball from Silver. Silver however just took the Fire Blast head on with hardly any damage. Silver fired another fireball, but Y just flew out of the way.
And that was how most of their fight was like. Y had speed on her side, but leaked the power needed to do any lasting damage. While her attacks were starting to leave their marks on Silver, it was at a very slow rate. Meanwhile Silver just kept attacking relentlessly, barely giving Y any time but to dodge and fire an attack, every now and then. Which might not have been a problem if it wasn't for one more thing that was working against her.
She dodged another fireball and was about to fire back when she coughed out blood instead, which gave Silver the opportunity to hit Y with a fireball. Y fell down from the attack, before getting up and flying away before she could be stomped by one of Silver's feet. And once again they were back to their game of cat and mouse.
The poison that was going through Y's body was killing her, Gold's poison was making it harder to fight Silver every second and while Roost could help, Silver wasn't giving Y any time to stop and heal.
It was clear that Y wasn't going to win this battle at this rate. Y looked around and decided that being in this tower with enclosed spaces wasn't helping her use her speed to her full potential. With her mind decided she flapped her wings to summon a hurricane again which hit Silver, while it wasn't enough to knock Silver down, it did slow Silver down for a moment.
Y then flew up towards the and blasted a hole whenever she would meet with a roof. As expected, it wasn't long before Silver was following behind her. But that was just what she was hoping for. Looking around she saw what she wanted, broken bridges and structures all over the place even inside the massive tower.
Y then flew to an area where most of these structures were and just like how Gold did, Silver followed her blindly. It took a bit of maneuvering, but Y was just able to get Silver into a spot to work her plan.
Just like last time with Gold, she fired a Fire Blast right above a large bridge and just like before it fell atop of Silver. While this bridge wasn't as big or as heavy as the one she used on Gold, it was still even to destroy his flight and cause him to fall.
Y know this wasn't going to kill Silver. But right now, she needed to get away from him, heal up a bit and find her mate for help.
She coughed a bit, before blasting her way out from the sides and came out of the tower. Taking this moment from fighting she landed on a nearby roof and started to use Roost. While the Roost was done, she felt much better and was way more in fighting condition.
Suddenly she heard something break through a wall, she turned to see Gold flying out of the tower. When she looked closer, she could see that Gold was holding something in her mouth. Y had an idea of what it wasn't and flew at Gold.
Y fired a barrage of Air Slashes that hit her back, causing Gold to turn and face her. Y could now clearly see X in her mouth and when to help him. Gold didn't let go of X and instead flew at Y aiming to use her huge head to hit Y. However, Y was still the far more agile one and flew past Gold. Before Gold could turn around to face Y, Y flew right behind Gold's head and grabbed onto it.
Obviously, Gold wasn't happy about this and tried to shake her off. But Y wasn't going to let go. Y then fired a Flamethrower right on Gold's face, causing Gold to fly crazier. X started to fight back trying to get out of Gold's mouth. While Gold was being blasted in the face with a Flamethrower, X fired a small Dragon Pulse at Gold's face too. It didn't do much, but it was enough that Gold's grip on X loosened.
X managed to get out of her mouth but started to fall. Letting go Gold Y when after X, before firing a Hurricane at Gold hoping to push her away. Y caught X and started to land on one of the big roofs.
Gold landed down as softly as she could holding up X. Taking a look, she could see that her mate was bleeding profusely around his torso. With a lot of holes that were made from Gold's teeth. X then coughed out blood and she could see traces of a purple liquid leave his mouth, giving her mate a worried look, and he looked back and nodded. He was poisoned too.
They heard a roar and looked up to see Gold flying above them. Both X and Y were charging up an attack, when they suddenly heard a roar behind them. But turned around and fired their Flamethrowers at a big fireball that was behind them destroying it. Silver was flying behind them and came right at them.
Both X and Y flew back, before Silver could crush them as he landed, his mate Gold landed right by him.
Now both pairs of dragons were glaring at each other. Both were damaged, but both weren't going to give up. They could tell what was going to happen next.
This was the final round.
All at once the dragons fired their fireballs and Flamethrowers, just like at the start of this fight. And just like last time, it created a big smokescreen, but this time it was X who rushed forward with a Dragon Rush. He hit Silver and they went off the edge. While Y took to the sky, with Gold following her.
Y was flying circles around Gold as Gold, like always failed to keep up. Y was about to fire an attack when she started coughing. Which gave Gold a chance to hit her with tail. Y went down but was able to catch herself before crashing down.
She flew out of the way of a fireball and fired Air Slashes. All of them hit Gold damaging her, but she continued to fly after Y not caring to dodge at this point.
With X he was more or less the same. He attacked Silver as hard and as fast as he could. His power and speed were higher, thanks to the three Dragon Dances he managed to get in. He flew at a speed that matched Y's and kept attacking with Dragon Claws and Dragon Rushes.
But for all his power, he was still suffering from the poison and unlike Y he didn't have any way to heal himself. So, this was an all or nothing assault. X coughed out blood, but unlike Y he didn't stop his attack for a moment, every second counted now.
Y was also starting to succumb to the poison too, even with healing she was only doing slightly better than X was. Y fired more Air Slashes hitting Gold's head. This time she stopped her chase if only for a moment.
Y then used Hurricane now that Gold was flying in one place. The Hurricane hit Gold and she was tossed around in it before being flung out of it and crash landing on a nearby platform. As Gold tried to stand up her head was swinging in a circle, showing that she was confused.
With X he saw the Hurricane and saw how Gold was vulnerable now. Using the power that his Dragon Dances had given him, he dodged a fireball and flew at Silver's tail before grabbing it. He then flew where Gold was and started to spin Silver around. He let go and threw Silver at the confused Gold.
Silver couldn't stop himself from crushing atop of Gold. Both Silver and Gold cried in pain. But both X and Y weren't done. Both landed on the platform and were ready to end this. Both X and Y claws glowed with a bright flame before they roared and with all their power, slammed both their claws into the platform.
The entire platform glowed bright, as a giant pillar of both blue and bright orange fire erupted from under Silver and Gold. Their roars of pain were drowned out from the combined power of both X and Y Blast Burn. The attack completely engulfed them.
The double Blast Burn kept going for a few more seconds before it finally died down. Both X and Y were flying in the air as the entire platform was destroyed and all that was left was a big hole that went deep down, that either of them could see the bottom.
Both X and Y were barely keeping themself in the air. Before landing on another nearby platform. Their energy spent by this brutal fight, and their Blast Burns used up any remaining energy they might have had left.
They just sat there letting themself fall to their exhaustion. At least it was over.
"RRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"
Suddenly two loud and angry roars were heard as one of the dragons burst out from somewhere nearby. It was Gold and she immediately went after Y. Y tried to fly away but her speed was very slow from exhaustion and she was caught in Gold's mouth, by her midsection.
Gold started to bite down just like she had with X and Y was screaming in pain. X went to help with a Dragon Claw, but a fireball hit him, knocking him away. Silver roared from above, and X was trying his best to get up.
When he looked at Gold, Y was still screaming before—
CRUNCH
The sound of bone snapping like a twig rang through the air and X could only stare in pure horror. Y's screaming had stopped, after all it was hard to scream when your neck wasn't attached to your body anymore.
X stared at the decapitated head of his mate that fell on the floor. Gold had snapped Y in half, separating her head and tail from her torso, with her torso being swallowed by Gold.
X just stared at this, his mind going completely blank, before he let out his angriest roar even. His body glowed red with Outrage and he charged at Gold. Despite his exhaustion, seeing the death of his mate rekindle his desire to fight and avenge his mate.
Gold turned around in time for X to punch her in the face as hard as he possibly could. Gold went back, nearly falling off the platform. Before X could continue attacking Gold, a big silver tail suddenly hit him, knocking him into what was left of a wall on the platform causing it to fall apart and X to be buried under the rubble.
Silver then flew back into the air and roared at Gold to get up and leave the platform and she did, as she saw what her mate was about to do. X burst out of the rubble but was visibly injured and was struggling to move. A bright light caught his attention causing him to look up at Silver.
Silver was charging the fire in his mouth so much that Silver was starting to glow a bit. Before—
"RRRRRRRRRRRR!"
With a roar Siver fired his attack, what came out wasn't a big fireball like always, instead it was a wave, no, sea of fire.
X could do nothing but stare at the sea of fire that was coming towards him. His roars of pain and agony drowned out by it, as he felt his skin and bone melt away. His fire resistance meant nothing against this attack.
Silver kept this attack up for a few more seconds before stopping. The Platform was completely burned black with nothing but the ash that used to be X.
Seeing this both Silver and Gold roared to the skies to let all know that this tower was theirs now, that they were the king and queen of this place. And any who dare would meet the same fate as the pair of dragons who wanted to claim a territory here.

So why does team Rathalos win?
Well first let's go over their original forms in the very first fight in this series. Charizard vs Rathalos. In that fight Charizard won, having greater speed and most importantly being able to expose Rathalos's weakness to dragon.
Both Silver and Gold however aren't weak to dragon and instead are weak to water and thunder. Two elements that both X and Y Charizard didn't really have. So there was no elemental advantage for the Charizards here. While the same could be said about both Silver and Gold not having an elemental advantage either, they had other advantages too.
Both Silver and Gold were much tougher, their metallic scales were more than enough to handle most of X and Y attacks. Both X and Y fire was useless and the same could be said about Silver and Gold fire too. Especially with X being both a fire and dragon type pokemon, so its better fire resistance would keep it safe from most of their fire attacks. But Silver and Gold were also immune or at least greatly resistant to dragon, so both of X's main elements were useless or at least ineffective on both Silver and Gold. And Y isn't much better as its fire was useless too and while it did have other attacks, it didn't really have anything that could make up for not being able to use its strongest element.
Now X and Y were with their own advantages too. Both were much faster, with Y being able to out maneuver a jet fighter, even with Silver and Gold being many times faster and stronger than their normal counterparts, they still wouldn't be able to keep up with X and Y speed.
But speed means little when most of your strongest elemental attacks do little to no damage. And all your other attacks can't really do enough damage to take out your opponent fast enough. Both Silver and Gold were stronger too. Being able to go head to head with powerful monsters like Bazelgeuse and even elder dragons like Kushala Daora. So even without their fire, their physical strength would be enough to hurt both X and Y. And while both X and Y had ways to increase their power. They were temporary boosts and Silver and Gold could increase their power too. And all of this isn't even including their poison.
Especially with Gold's poison, being much stronger than even Silver's poison. With just like the death battle with Charizard and Rathalos. While both X and Y speed would allow them to avoid being poisoned for a while, but, with them both leaking the power and element advantage needed to take advantage of their greater speed, it was only a matter of time before they would both get poison.
So really their speed only delayed the inevitable. And even with Y's healing it was going to be able to keep it up for long. Both Silver and Gold were just much physically stronger, tougher, had poison and had the perfect elemental resistances for this fight.
The winners of this tag team fight are Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian.

And that's a wrap people! The last fight before going on hiatus! Man, it's been fun writing these. But for now I must put this story on the shelf for now. Don't worry though, this story isn't over, just going to put it away for a bit. I still have a lot of battles I want to do. But there are also some other stories I want to write too.
So this story won't be getting any updates for a while. Not sure when I will come back to this, or when I will write again, could be months or even years later. Hopefully I can find both the time and motivation to not just continue this story but the others ones I want to do.

I like to do battles that aren't so predictable on what the outcome is. So I think I won't be doing this one unfortunately. But I appreciate the review.
