As time went on, Hayley gradually lost herself in her new look, falling deeper into the party life she had once resented. Pinkie watched helplessly as her sister transformed, adopting a lifestyle that was scrutinized by her own principles. More often than not, Hayley found herself aboard a luxurious yacht or attending extravagant parties, rubbing elbows with influencers and celebrities while slowly distancing herself from the things they once valued together.
With concern gnawing at her, Pinkie knew it was time to intervene. She called Carly, explaining the situation, Carly agreed to help. Together, they rented a boat and set off toward the yacht.
"You sure about this?" Carly asks.
"Yes Carly, I know this is crazy, but I've seen Hayley's posts. She lost her way just as I worried from the beginning. We have to save her from herself, after all, she's my best friend," Pinkie insisted, her determination shining through.
"B-best friend?" Carly inquired, feeling a twinge of jealousy. After all, she was Pinkie's friend long before Hayley came into the picture.
Not hearing her, Pinkie had already climbed onto the boat, her mind set on rescuing her sister.
Meanwhile at the party, Hayley is invited to a personal meeting with a celebrity named Iron Monkey. She thanks him for his charity work, but he's clearly just telling her what she wants to hear, to win her over and sleep with her. Regardless he offers to give her a private tour of the yacht, she accepts but once left alone, Hayley discovers that the yacht is actually being pulled by slave whales. Realizing that she has become as shallow as the people around her, Hayley vows to free the whales but bumps into Pinkie, who's now revealed to be dressed in Hayley's usual hippy getup. Even having dyed her red hair to Hayley's usual black.
Hayley pauses, before finally letting out. "… Pink? A -Are you me?"
"Yes, I know you lost your way sis. So I came to remind you who you are. A whiny hippy buzzkill, who's also my best friend." Pinky told her.
"That's nice sis, but I already made that epiphany.. like 3 seconds ago." Hayley admitted.
"Really? So I made my hair ugly, wore this ridiculous outfit, and drove for 2 hours. All for nothing?!" Pinky snarked annoyedly. The sarcasm is something Hayley knows well about her.
"Yeah, and I took her without question. Cause that's what 'best friends' do." Carly said, a playful competitiveness evident in her voice.
Meanwhile, Steve feels left out at Pinkie's and Hayley's sisterly relationship, making him wish he had his own aibling relationship,a big brother to look up to. Only to remember Eventually he realizes that Jeff being married to Hayley now means Jeff Fisher is his brother in law. Steve doesn't like Jeff, he finds him odd. But still he decides to give this a try.
Jeff is honoured, even saying "nobody ever asked me to be a big brother before."
"It's not really that common, Jeff." Steve snarked dryly.
"Wait, Hayley's not my sister now is she?" Jeff asked, proving himself not the brightest. Why Steve was reluctant.
"Jeff, focus. I need you to show me the world, expand my horizons." Steve says, immediately ignoring the silly question.
Okay Steve, you know how sometimes the rest of the family is doing stuff and I'm not around? It's because I'm looking at this wall." Jeff says, and immedately stares at one of the walls, acting like a broken NPC waiting for the player character to interact with them.
Steve goes to say something, but Jeff shushes him, saying sometimes if you look closesly enough. You can see faces.
"How high are you Jeff?" Steve asked dryly.
"Yes." was Jeff's only response, still smiling.
The three ladies go to free the whales, but are stopped by a security guard outside the door to the room.
"Private room ladies, the dance floor is upstairs." he tells them.
Carly hears the bass from the upstairs music, and smirks to herself. "No, it's right here.. Yo blondie, I challenge you to a dance off. Unless you don't think you got the moves."
Hayley paused for a moment, then quickly caught on. "Oh, I've got moves, all day till Sunday." Hayley challenges back, and two start their competition. "Go free the whales." Carly whispers to Pink Lancer, who quietly sneaks past the guard as he watches the two.
Carly, who was feeling a bit jealous of how close Pinkie and Hayley are, uses the opportunity to compete against Hayley. Carly almost forgetting it's only a distraction, as she actually does get into it, as Carly saw the dance off as an opportunity to outshine Hayley. But she was not malicious to Hayley, nor did Carly want to ruin the friendship. It's more like a playful rivalry, that makes them competitive. But they otherwise get along.
Meanwhile, wanting to show off, Jeff shows Steve how he spends his day (staring at drying paint whenever the plot doesn't need him). But also how to run mild scams on people to collect food. as well as how to find old clothes irons from the isn't impressed and complains the whole time. But his tone changes when Jeff reveals he was using all they collected to make grilled cheeses for a hippy party.
"Jeff, you've done it, you've introduced me to a whole new world... big brother." Steve said, raising arms for hug. Jeff actually gets twared up and immediately hugs him.
"Now that we're brothers, I feel like I can tell you anything... When I was little, I saw a man stabbing his family at a rest stop, and I pretended not to notice."
"Shhhhhhhh. Let's just savor this moment." Steve said, still hugging him.
