6. Update - INDEFINITE HIATUS on this story

This isn't the update I wanted to share, but I figured it's been long enough since the last chapter and enough time for me to make a decision on the future of this story.

To cut a long explanation short, I have lost all motivation and drive to carry on with Trials of a True Shield Hero for the time being and will thus be putting it on an indefinite hiatus, in the hope of one day finding the motivation again to resume this story. I didn't want this to be the choice I had to make, but I can't hide from how I feel.

And I think a combination of not being super invested into Season 3 of Shield-Hero's events that will eventually be the plot of this story, a lack of the dedicated preparation that I did for most of my other works, stress and exhaustion from work and one or two other things are the ultimate reasons for this.

I'm sorry to everyone who was looking forward to the continuation of this story and what will come after it, especially since my True Shield Hero saga was my journey into writing fan fiction and is responsible for how far I've come since, as well as something I was eager to stay passionate about for a while yet, but it would be unfair to both you all and myself if I continued to slog on with this story and deliver half-hearted efforts due to not being invested in it and would knock my confidence down even more if I put out shoddy work that wasn't at the peak of what I know I can do, hence why I am choosing to stop now before it falls off completely.

I don't know when True Shield-Hero will return, but in the mean time I won't be stepping away from writing completely. In fact, I am hoping that working on other projects will relight the enthusiasm I once held for writing when I committed to it years ago and will allow me to one day return to this story. And one of these projects will, of course, be the second part of the Overlord saga I wrote with my good friend and co-author daniel sometime in 2026.

As for the immediate project? Well I've already been dropping some hints as to what it could be, and it will again be a story I write alongside daniel, but that is where we'll be heading to next. We've already be planning it for quite some time, and we are looking forward to dropping it. I won't give away the title now, or the world we're going to, but what we will reveal is that it is another isekai anime that both daniel and I love, and it will drop at the start of April, giving us a few weeks to make final preparations and really nail down the route we're taking before dropping the first chapter.

Until then, I apologise once more for this announcement and for the pause in this story, but I hope you will join me soon in the next story and universe I am jumping into with daniel. Until then, this is theoneandonlyedster signing out on this story for now, and I will see you in a few weeks for the start of a new adventure!
