Chapter 179
Bonding Friendships
Continuation:
After the Power Rangers explained everything to Vanessa's father. They leave him with a better understanding and a guilty feeling of not believing his daughter when she tried to tell him something was wrong with the Professor. The Yellow Ranger gave Vanessa a watch which she explained to her that she will be able to use if trouble shows up again. The point of it is, Vanessa will be able to contact the Rangers immediately if anything bad surfaces and she is the first to see it.
Nakia, Zelda, Kimberly, and Chet are at Ryan's apartment doing some heavy studying simply because their finals are so close.
Days have gone by, and there has been absolutely no sign of trouble. Today is Sunday. And Vanessa's father has invested in another project that he wants to go and look over at 1:00 p.m. He wants Vanessa to go with him, and even though she doesn't want too, she reluctantly accepts.
The time now is 9:30 a.m. Vanessa sits in her room wearing a pair of yellow pants, a white blouse and black socks.. She's actually sitting on her bed.. She starts to sigh till she hears her cell phone ringing. When she answers it, she finds out its Amanda.. She asks.
Vanessa-Hey Amanda, how's your SUV doing?
Amanda responds.
Amanda-Oh it's fixed now. The broken window that is. What are you up to today?
Vanessa-I have to go with my dad to some new investment he put more money in to.
Amanda-Hmm. I'm guessing its going to be boring?
Vanessa-I don't know. But ever since the Rangers told him about the Professor. He's been wanting me to stay around the house and go where he goes if I'm not at private school.
Amanda-You go to private school?
Vanessa-Yeah.
Amanda-Which one?
Vanessa-It's in Granite City. Not too far.
Amanda-Oh I see.
Vanessa-I'm bored.
Amanda-I'd invite you to go out to a picnic with Todd and I but you have plans.
Vanessa's attitude changes a bit.. She's a bit more intrigued at what Amanda just said.
Vanessa-A picnic? You and Todd? Oooo.. Is this some sort of love thing.
Amanda says playfully shy.
Amanda-Oh stop it. Todd is a nice guy. And I like him a lot.
Vanessa-That's cool.
Amanda-Not to quickly get off the subject but there's something I have been wanting to ask you.
Vanessa-What?
Amanda-Any news of the Professor?
Vanessa-No. I guess he got scared and took off.
Amanda-Checked his house?
Vanessa-No. My dad really stressed the point this time.
Amanda-What point?
Vanessa-He does not want me to go over there, ever..
Amanda-Oh. You don't seem like the type of person who'd ever pass up an adventure.
Vanessa-I'm not. It's just.
She sighs and continues.
Vanessa-I don't know.
Amanda-Well okay.
Vanessa-Why? You sound like you want to go and check it out or something.
Amanda-I don't know.
Vanessa-Hey Amanda.. Why not go with me and my dad to check out his new investment.
Amanda-Why would I want to go?
Vanessa-Because maybe you'd like to keep me company.. You know.. Your new friend. Your new friend who's going to be bored out of her head this afternoon.
Amanda-But Vanessa. I can't just bail out on Todd.
Vanessa-Oh goodness. Just tell him you want to postpone the picnic. Besides I heard its supposed to rain later on today.
Amanda-Okay, if it does start raining before you leave I'll postpone the picnic.
Vanessa-Thanks Amanda.
Amanda-Not a problem.
Vanessa-Talk to you later.
Amanda-Okay, bye.
They both hang up.
Deep within the mountains, where rain is already beating against the outside walls. There is a base filled with machines, and creatures working very abruptly as if they had nothing else on their minds.. And what they are working on, is a giant robotic creature. The entire base is huge, so they have enough room to continue their work.
Two large gray doors slide open from the back.. And out steps Kitty.. And also, the Professor walks out looking better after the long fall he took.
Both of them watch the creatures work on the giant machine.. The Professor says.
Professor Feliness-Soon Terratron will be complete!
Kitty adds.
Kitty-Yes Professor.
Professor Feliness-This time I have no doubt of our success.
Kitty-Why do you say that?
Professor Feliness-Terratron has a built in cat's eye beam.
Kitty-Okay?
Professor Feliness-If those Rangers show up, I have no doubt they'd destroy it. And if they do destroy it, the cat's eye beam will shoot up from the destruction and hover above the earth where it will open quickly to seize the ozone layer.
Kitty-So your beam will become the ozone layer so to speak?
Professor Feliness-Exactly. And with that done.. It will transmit the hypnotic rays all over the planet..
The Professor chuckles.
Professor Feliness-And then the earth will belong to me! Because everyone will be my slaves, as cats!
Kitty-It sounds very tactic Professor.
Professor Feliness-Yes it does, doesn't it.
The Professor turns and walks back towards the opened gray doors.. He asks Kitty.
Professor Feliness-Oh and Kitty. I haven't had the chance to ask you this.. But during our last battle. Where did you go?
Kitty comes to attention immediately and responds.
Kitty-I was back at the lab Professor. Taking care of everything. Just in case the Rangers knew about it.
Professor Feliness-Hmm. Good thinking.. Too bad for them everything there is burned to a crisp now.
Kitty-Yes, Professor.
The Professor laughs and goes through the opened gray doors.
Kitty says to herself.
Kitty-I have a strong sense of loyalty to you professor.. Why is that.. Hmm.
Kitty is right.. Even though she was the cause of his last downfall. She still has a strong sense to be by his side and help him when need be. She doesn't think much about it though because she feels she won't really be able to figure it out.
Later on during the day, rain begins to fall in the city of Terra Falls.. Amanda calls Vanessa back and informs her she'll go with her to wherever she's going. Also Amanda informs Vanessa that Brett wants to take them along with Todd and Jorge.. Vanessa says in a response on the phone.
Vanessa-Amanda I don't know. I'm supposed to drive up in my dad's limo.
Amanda responds.
Amanda-Can't you break away from him?
Vanessa-I'll try.
Amanda-Okay. Brett is supposed to be bringing some guy.
Vanessa-Who?
Amanda-Some guy who was affected by the same mess as you me and Todd.
Vanessa-Oh but why do they want to go?
Amanda-Simple Vanessa. They really want to get to know us. Like there's some sort of cosmic force pulling us together.
Vanessa-Ok I can deal with that.
Amanda-Okay. Let me know what your dad says before we go out to your place.
Vanessa-I will.
Amanda-Ok bye.
They both hang up.
Vanessa leaves her room and ends up finding her dad in his study where he's getting papers out of his desk drawer.. She takes a deep breath and finally decides to ask.
Vanessa-Dad can I talk to you for a second?
Henry looks up at his daughter and responds after putting on his brown business jacket and says.
Henry-Yes, first are you ready to go?
Vanessa-Kind of.
Henry-What's with the kind of?
Henry opens up his briefcase and places the papers inside as Vanessa continues on.
Vanessa-Well I met some new friends. And they want to go too.
Henry says.
Henry-Okay I don't have a problem with that. But why would they want to watch me conduct business at a local sky airport?
Vanessa-Because they want to get to know me better.
Henry-Oh I see. Well okay just give me their addresses and Wally the chauffeur will pick them up in the limo.
Vanessa-That's just the thing dad.
Henry-Hmm?
Vanessa-Amanda said they want to go, but in a separate car.
Henry sighs.
Henry-Fine Vanessa. Go, as long as you and your friends follow my limo.
Vanessa gives her father a hug and says thankfully.
Vanessa-Thank you dad!
Henry-Mm hmm. Now hurry up. It's almost 1.
Vanessa leaves the study. Henry shakes his head and continues gathering more papers from his desk.
Debra, the head maid tells Vanessa when she sees her rushing up the stairway to her room.
Debra-Vanessa telephone! And remember put on a coat before you leave! And take an umbrella!
Vanessa says from up the stairs.
Vanessa-Okay Debra.
Vanessa answers the phone in her room.
Vanessa-Hello?
It's Amanda.
Amanda-I'm sorry for calling you back so soon I just wanted to know if..
Vanessa interrupts her.
Vanessa-My dad said it was okay.
Amanda-Really?
Vanessa-Yeah. As long as we follow him.
Amanda-Okay cool.
Vanessa-You guys need to hurry up though. We leave at 1o'clock sharp.
Amanda-Okay.
Vanessa-And I mean it. My dad is very punctual. If you're even thirty seconds late you might as well forget it.
Amanda-We'll be there. Just look for a blue car.
Vanessa-A blue car.. Okay.
Amanda-Yeah.
Vanessa-Okay, see you in a few minutes.
They both hang up.
Back in the mountains where the Professor's new base is being held.. The creature type workers are still working on the large robotic monster. Meanwhile, in another room just a few feet away from the workers.. The Professor sits in a leather black chair watching his workers through a large screen. The room he is in is filled with computerized technology and is absolutely fascinating.
Entrance doors leading to the metallic room slide open quickly.. The Professor says to the being walking in.
Professor Feliness-Kitty how long till they're finished?
Kitty responds.
Kitty-Not too long Professor. They still need something to make it fly.
Professor Feliness-Hmm.
Back at the mansion.. Henry has gotten into his limousine. He has on a thick brown coat because the rain is coming down really hard.
Vanessa is outside too of course.. She has on a long black thick coat to keep her warm and she's waiting for a some sort of blue car to arrive in front of the mansion and five seconds later she sees a blue four door car driving through the piling rain. Vanessa goes over to the limo and tells her father.
Vanessa-Dad they're here.
Henry says.
Henry-Okay, have fun honey.
Vanessa-Thanks.
Henry rolls up the window and Vanessa goes over to the stopped car.. The back left side door is open and she looks in to see Amanda and Todd in the back.. In the front are Brett and Jorge. All of them are wearing jeans, t shirts, socks, shoes, and coats. Vanessa gets in and says to everyone.
Vanessa-Hello.
Amanda responds in speech.
Amanda-Hey Vanessa.
Then she taps the guy in the front seat.
Amanda-Jorge, this is Vanessa.
Jorge turns and greets Vanessa.
Jorge-Hey there.
Vanessa responds.
Vanessa-Hello.
He turns back to the front and sees the limo pulling off. Vanessa says to Brett.
Vanessa-You'd better go Brett. My dad doesn't waste any time.
Brett-Alright.
Vanessa-Hey didn't you have a pick up truck before Brett?
Brett-Yeah. I'm using this because there wouldn't be enough room for everyone in my pickup truck.
Brett starts up the car and drives on to follow the limo.
Todd says while looking out the window.
Todd-Man the rain is really coming down.
Amanda adds.
Amanda-I know, its beautiful isn't it?
Todd-Uh I'm not sure.
Amanda-Oh come on.. Sure it's beautiful.
Amanda turns to Vanessa and asks.
Amanda-Where are we going anyway?
Vanessa-To a sky airport.
Jorge asks.
Jorge-A sky airport?
Vanessa responds.
Vanessa-Yeah. It's one of those places that are held on top of mountains.
Amanda-Sounds cool. Never been to one of those before.
Vanessa-I'm sure its not much difference between it and an airport located on the ground.
Amanda-Hmm.
Vanessa turns her attention to Jorge and asks him.
Vanessa-Jorge what happened to you on the cat subject?
Jorge says.
Jorge-I was turned into one.
Vanessa-Really?
Jorge-Yeah.
Brett adds to it.
Brett-Its true, he was. But the Rangers saved him.
Vanessa-Wow. Totally interesting.
Amanda-Yeah, its as interesting as the professor trying to change our brains.
Vanessa and Todd shudders.
Vanessa-Ugh I know.
Amanda-And scary.
Vanessa says now.
Vanessa-You know it would be so cool to be a Ranger.
Amanda-I was thinking the same thing.
Vanessa-Yeah?
Amanda-Yeah but a while ago when we were trapped in the warehouse.
Todd says.
Todd-I used to be a Ranger.
Amanda, Jorge and Vanessa look at him with penetrating eyes.. He looks back at them and says.
Todd-What? I was. I used to be the Red Ranger.
Amanda asks.
Amanda-Really?
Todd-Yeah, a while ago.
Amanda-What happened?
Todd-Oh well it's a real long story. My buddy is the Red Ranger now, and he always has been but he had extra power and needed my help along with some of my friends. I will never forget the day when I found out about him being the Red Ranger.
Flashback:
The Power Rangers lean down to help their friends back on their feet.. Todd shakes his head and rubs the back of it as he asks.
Todd-Oh man.. What happened?
The Red Ranger takes off his helmet and says to him.
Ryan-Everything went bad man.. But you're all right now..
Todd smiles at him and says.
Todd-I never would of thought dude.. That you.. Are the Red Ranger.
Ryan-What's so unbelievable about it man?
They chuckle..
The other Rangers take off their helmets, and speak to their friends.. Amy and Nakia walk over to a different spot..
Amy-I knew it!
She giggles.
Nakia-Yeah yeah you knew it.. And besides I admitted it to you..
Amy-Right..
Nakia-Hey listen I have something I need to give you.. Because we're in serious trouble here.
Amy-What kind of trouble?
Nakia-A very powerful evil force is going to attack us.. And we need all the help we can get.
Amy-What can I do?
Nakia materializes her beautiful yellow storm cell.. It glows with beautiful fury as she hands it to Amy.
Amy-Wow.. What is this?
Nakia-Its my Yellow Lightning Storm Cell..
Amy-What do I do with it?
Nakia-You'll have to use it in order to change into a Power Ranger..
Amy-This is all soo cool.
Nakia-Its not really cool.. But I know how you feel.. Its actually really dangerous.
Amy-I understand..
Throughout the entire overview.. Todd has the Red Fire Storm Cell.. Kaitlynn has the Pink Wind Storm Cell, Marisa has the White rain Storm Cell and David has the Black Hail Storm Cell.. Everyone regroups to talk about what will happen, and very soon.
Todd-Who is Sinistar?
Zelda answers that one.
Zelda-A very powerful evil witch who wants to kill us..
Marisa-This is all way too scary.
Kimberly-It is but we can handle it..
Kaitlynn shares her doubts..
Kaitlynn-What if it doesn't work out? I know nothing about being a Power Ranger..
Zelda says.
Zelda-But if you believe in yourself, everything will be fine.
Chet-Zelda's right.. That is all that matters..
Kaitlynn-Hmm.
Joey-Besides, with two sets of Rangers, we'd have the upper hand.
Chet-Yeah but remember, Sinistar has the sword of power now..
David-What's that?
Chet-Something that she's going to use to make us really hurt..
Ryan-We chose you because we believe in you..
Nakia-That's right.. And if we all work together in unison we'll be fine..
Todd, Kaitlynn, David, Marisa and Amy all look at each other.. They then nod their heads and say to the others.
Todd-We won't let you down..
Ryan-Good.
He smiles.
Ryan-I knew we could count on you..
Soon their storm cells begin to flash.. Ryan says.
Ryan-Looks like its time for you guys to get your morphers..
Marisa-Wow, real morphers.
They stand apart from each other and hold out their hands.. Soon the storm cells burst into a surge of power that goes into their bodies.. When it finishes running through, the surges return to their wrists but in the form of brand new storm morphers.. The morphers basically are wrist bands with a device attached at the top.. The device looks like a mini computer with a red button that looks like a small flame, a pink button that looks like a small tornado, a blue button that resembles a raindrop, a white button that resembles a snow flake, a yellow button that resembles a beautiful yellow Lightning bolt, and a black button that resembles a spot of hail..
They all look at their morphers with amazement.. The others look at them and smile.. Zelda says.
Zelda-You guys will do fine..
End of Flashback:
Amanda asks Todd.
Amanda-What did you do as a Ranger?
Todd-The first mission was really tough. We had to fight and defeat Sinistar.
Vanessa asks.
Vanessa-Who's Sinistar?
Brett responds as he continues to follow the limo.
Brett-Ooh Sinistar is a real evil demon.. More powerful than those cat things I bet. I remember when she had me under her control for a while..
Jorge asks him.
Jorge-She had you under her control?
Brett-Yeah.. My friends and I. During that time.. A time I wasn't proud of..
Vanessa asks.
Vanessa-What do you mean?
Brett-I used to be apart of a gang called the Street Sharks. And Sinistar took advantage of it.
Flashback:
In downtown Terra Falls, just outside of main street, a woman screams from inside of her bakery. Five teenagers are ransacking through the entire place and wrecking everything. These teens are in black masks so you can't see their faces, the woman screams for the police but is stopped as one of them hits her in the back and causes her to fall down. They bust open the cash register and steal all the money along with stealing some bakery goods, after that they all flee like running headless chickens.
The five teenagers lift open a manhole and climb down inside, they walk through the underground basement of the city till they reach a place they call home. Soon after they take off their masks. The leader of this group is Brett, a handsome Caucasian guy, but very mean and tough, stands at 6'2, he has black hair, brown eyes and a strong muscular build. His buddy James, an African American stands at 6'1, and he has short pitch black hair, brown eyes a muscular build and a cute face. Next is Lisa a Vietnamese girl, who has trouble with almost everything, her temper is hotter than the inside of a volcano, anyway she stands at 5'6, has blonde hair, brown eyes and is medium build. Another Caucasian guy, Patrick is cute and quiet but does have a very bad side, he is loyal but also dangerous, he stands at 5'8 has red hair, blue eyes and a medium muscular build. And last but not least, Heather, an all American girl with a bad twist, she stands at 5'7, has semi long blonde hair and brown eyes, and she has a strong build.
Their living space looks livable but anyone would disagree that living under the streets of the city is not sanitary. They all rest up a bit before deciding what they should do to get themselves more food. Heather takes the sack of money and drops it on the floor, she then starts counting it, after she finishes Brett asks.
Brett-Well how much is it?
Heather looks at him and says.
Heather-Not much Brett, not much at all.
Lisa-We'd better start picking out better places to rob then.
Heather-I agree. I think robbing places at night would be better.
Brett-How so?
Heather-No one's around, only the stupid alarm!
Lisa-We'd never get caught.
Everyone gathers around a table which is set up in another part of their home. They start talking about the central bank.
Lisa-If we could get into that bank then we'd be set for life.
Brett-Yeah I agree with you on that one Lisa. It won't be easy though.
Heather-Of course not, but we're Street Sharks, we'll crush anything that gets in our way!
Patrick-That's right!
James-Why don't we case the joint tonight?
Brett-Hmm.
And that's exactly what they do.
The next day arrives and the Street Sharks are at it again, they rob a local arcade and beat up on the guy in charge there just because he said something they didn't like the last time they were there.
The Street Sharks make it back to their dwelling and just as they begin to relax, a beam of green energy appears and surrounds them all, they start yelling angrily and hollering in frustration, but they all soon disappear and reappear right in Sinistar' throne room.
They look around and wonder where they are, Brett says angrily.
Brett-What are we doing here?!
James-How did we get here is the question.
Brett looks at James sternly which tells him he'd better not say anything else right now.
Sinistar steps out of the shadows surrounding her stone throne. They look at her in surprise and step back but Brett steps forward a bit and demands an explanation.
Sinistar-I have been watching you and have concluded that you are tough beings, you are just the right beings to help me win against my enemies.
Brett-What are you talkin about?! You're just an old lady!
Heather-I'll say she's old, old like dirt!
They start laughing. Sinistar gets angry and zaps them with a heavy amount of yellow lightning. They groan out in pain and fall onto their backs. Sinistar lets up and says to them.
Sinistar-You have been chosen by me to serve in my army!
Brett says in a weakened tone.
Brett-What army? Ugh!
Sinistar-You are called Street Sharks, well that is to my understanding. Therefore I can give you the power to become my dark street sharks and to make you stronger!
They start thinking and liking Sinistar' proposal to them. They stand up and Lisa asks.
Lisa-I'd love to have awesome power, then everyone would be bowing down to me!
Sinistar laughs.
Sinistar-You idiot! You will only have one purpose and one purpose only! And that is to destroy the Power Rangers!
Brett-How can we defeat the Power Rangers, even with your help? We don't have any grudges against them.
Sinistar-YOU DO NOW!
Sinistar zaps them all again with her powers, and soon their bodies become electrified, Brett's outfit changes into a red spandex suit with a red shark helmet, Lisa's outfit changes into a yellow spandex suit with a yellow shark helmet, James' suit changes into a blue spandex suit with a blue shark helmet, Patrick's suit changes into a black spandex suit with a black shark helmet and lastly Heather's changes into a pink suit with a pink shark helmet.
Sinistar stops zapping them, she then says.
Sinistar-Now you have been given a strong power and have been transformed into my Street Sharks! You now have the power to crush your foes, the Power Rangers!
The Street Sharks bodies start electrifying again, they say one by one.
Red Street Shark-I've never felt such power flowing through my veins!
Blue Street Shark-Ah this power feels awesome!
Black Street Shark-This is unbelievable!
Yellow Street Shark-I'm ready to try out my new powers!
Pink Street Shark-Ha, this is the beginning of the end, this power feels so strong!
Sinistar chuckles.
Sinistar-Yes! Now go, teleport to the city and start destroying everything! Those Rangers will show up, and when they do..
They finish her sentence.
Street Sharks-WE'LL CRUSH THEM!
End of Flashback:
Todd says.
Todd-Whoa! Dude!
Brett responds.
Brett-I know. But my life has changed ever since the Yellow Ranger helped me out.
Vanessa responds.
Vanessa-That's good.
They all continue their talks and drive through the rain behind the limo as everything fades to black.
