Total Drama Random Island

Chapitre 23: Camp Castaways

Last time on Total Drama Island. In a special episode, we reunited with the former campers in a luxurious hotel, the Playa des Losers. It was clear that Idris and Sammy were still in love, that Amy had become even more unbearable, and that Jasmine, Beardo, DJ, and Brick had a strong hatred for Scott. The former losers had to vote that night to decide who would be eliminated. After the vote, Scott was eliminated, and I think he got beaten up. Who will be the next contestant to take part in the dramatic campfire ceremony? You'll find out by watching this new episode of TOTAL DRAMA... ISLAND

After the opening song, we find Chris standing in the rain

"Welcome back to Total Drama Island. This week has prepared a very special episode full of surprises. For example: rain is not easy to control. But we have noticed that the final four campers were really starting to find the game too easy. Let's just say we spiced things up a bit," said Chris before getting struck by lightning.

Then we find the campers in front of their cabin

"Listen up, contestants, one of the most essential challenges at summer camp is the inevitable rainy day. A day when every activity, even the least fun one, is replaced by the not-so-inevitable name: DIY. Tomorrow's forecast: rain, rain, and more rain. So I'll see you all tomorrow at exactly seven o'clock," said Chris.

"It's nice not to see Scott here anymore," said Leshawna.

"Yeah, I still don't know how he made it to the final five," said Gwen.

"It's touching to see how well you two get along, really warms the heart," said Duncan sarcastically.

"Very funny, Duncan, but let me remind you that we're stronger than you," said Leshawna.

"You're cracking me up. Dave and I could beat you with our eyes closed. Can you confirm that, Dave?" said Duncan.

"Yeah… sure, no problem," said Dave.

Confessional: Dave

"I hate it when people start provoking each other, it always ends in a fight."

End of confessional

"Don't you think it's really starting to rain a lot?" said Gwen.

"Yeah, we should head inside," said Leshawna.

"Wait. Has anyone seen Dave?" said Duncan.

"Since he went to the confessional, he hasn't come back," said Gwen.

"He'll be back anyway," said Duncan.

All the campers returned to their cabins.

The rain kept falling until it flooded the island, washing away many things.

The next morning, Chef rang the bell

"Hey, Chef, do you know where they went?" said Chris.

"No. And I just finished peeling a ton of old potatoes," explained Chef.

"I don't see any of them anywhere. And now that I think about it, their cabin is gone," said Chris.

Then we find the campers floating on the water with their cabins or their beds.

Duncan stepped out of his cabin and fell into the water, then Leshawna fell in too.

"What are you doing…" said Gwen before falling into the water.

"But where did all this water come from?" said Gwen.

"Did the rain cause a flood?" said Leshawna.

"This situation is ridiculous, it's almost comical," said Duncan.

A shark started circling them.

"Run!" said Leshawna.

They swam away as fast as they could.

"We need to find something big and soft to lock its jaws," said Gwen.

"Leshawna, sacrifice yourself for us," said Duncan.

"Shut up, you stupid punk," said Leshawna.

Confessional: Dave

He tried to open the door, then saw he was floating.

"What am I doing on the water? I'm going to die here. I'm stuck, and it stinks. This is a bad joke, Chris."

End of confessional

After floating for hours, the campers finally arrived on an island.

"Okay. Am I the only one who thinks this island is creepy?" said Gwen.

"I get that, it's really weird," said Leshawna.

"Don't worry, drama queens. The water current just carried us away, the producers will probably send a search team," said Duncan.

Then we cut to Chris and Chef, still standing where the cabin used to be.

"The fact that they're not here means DIY day is over. As for me, I'm hungry. Let's eat," said Chris.

"You really want to eat those old rotten potatoes?" said Chef.

"Not really. I was thinking more about the breakfast waiting for us at camp," said Chris.

"Cool," said Chef. The two men started laughing and playfully shoving each other.

Confessional: Duncan

"Well, well, well, alone on an island with two girls. Too bad they're boring."

Confessional: Gwen

"I thought they were just going to let me die here."

Confessional: Leshawna

"Being stuck with Duncan on a deserted island is hell. He'd probably eat you if he had nothing else to eat."

End of confessional

Duncan was lying on a deck chair.

"We should relax until the rescue team arrives," Duncan said.

"But what if there's no rescue team? What if the producers think we're dead? I suggest we build a raft to get back to camp," Gwen explained.

"Great idea! That way, we'll get even more lost," Duncan retorted.

"We need to build a raft," Gwen insisted.

"And I say we stay here," Duncan replied.

"Build a raft," Gwen repeated.

"We're not moving," Duncan declared.

"Both of you, stop it. This is the worst time to argue," Leshawna intervened.

"So, what do you suggest?" Duncan asked.

"That we explore the island to see if it's safe," Leshawna proposed.

"Good idea. I'll go left," Gwen said.

"I'll go right," Leshawna added.

"I'm staying here," Duncan declared.

Confessional: Leshawna

I'm a great leader. I got everyone to agree. Plus, someone had to stay calm, and Leshawna doesn't get scared easily.

End of confessional

Then we find Leshawna, who had discovered a treehouse.

"Not bad, I guess. It's better than nothing," she said.

Next, we cut to Dave, still in the confessional.

"Damn, what did I do to deserve this? Out of 7 billion people, why did this have to happen to me?" Dave complained.

The confessional bumped into something.

"Wait a minute… it's sand," he realized.

He ran out of the confessional.

"Finally free! Freedom is priceless," he exclaimed.

He kept walking and stumbled upon a T-rex skull.

"Seriously? A dinosaur skull? That's the most unbelievable thing ever. I bet it's metal," Dave commented.

Confessional: Chris

Just to set the record straight: my props are not junk. We lost three crew members setting up that skeleton. And as for the rescue team… Nope! The campers are on their own. Shouldn't have criticized my T-rex idea.

End of confessional

Back to Leshawna, who was on the treehouse balcony.

"Nice view. Hey, come check out what I just found!" she called out.

She opened the door and came face-to-face with a skeleton, making her scream in fear. She stepped back and spotted the T-rex skull, which freaked her out even more.

At that moment, Duncan and Gwen arrived.

Confessional: Chris

I knew the T-rex idea was a good one.

End of confessional

"So, do you still think we're close to camp?" Leshawna asked.

"Okay… sometimes I'm wrong," Duncan admitted.

Then we return to Dave, who hadn't moved.

"This is the worst day of my life," he sighed.

His stomach growled.

"And I haven't eaten anything this morning," he added.

He spotted some coconuts.

"Well, this should do," he concluded.

Confessional: Chef

Can someone explain to me why there are palm trees and coconuts here? We're in northern Ontario!

"They're props from an amusement park commercial," Chris clarified.

Chef stared at him.

"What? It was to save the budget," Chris justified.

End of confessional

Dave had finished eating.

"I hate coconut, but hey, it's better than nothing," he sighed.

He got up and walked for a few minutes before finding the other campers.

"Dave!" Leshawna exclaimed.

"We thought you were dead!" Duncan added.

"Why would I be dead? It's just a challenge Chris set up," Dave replied.

"Wait, what?" Gwen reacted.

"It looks like a survival challenge," Dave analyzed.

"What makes you say that?" Leshawna asked.

"The T-rex skull… or the fact that Chris is a huge psychopath," Dave explained.

"Whatever, we need to take action," Leshawna declared.

"What should we do?" Duncan asked.

"First, let's go inside the treehouse," Leshawna suggested.

"I'm not going in there. That place hasn't been cleaned in years," Dave refused.

"We're stranded on a deserted island, we need to build a raft," Gwen insisted.

"If we're stranded, the producers will eventually come save us," Duncan stated.

"And what if the producers don't know where we are? They're not very smart, in case you hadn't noticed," Gwen shot back.

Confessional: Chris

I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that, okay?

Confessional: Dave

I was better off alone. Now they're just going to argue.

End of confessional

"You know what? New rule: from now on, it's every man for himself," Duncan announced.

"Perfect," the other campers responded.

Confessional: Duncan

I know it was a bad idea to separate from Dave. We could have worked together, but he thinks it's a challenge, and I don't want to risk dying on this island.

End of confessional

Leshawna returned to the treehouse, Duncan took a bow and arrows, Dave went into the forest, and Gwen started building a raft.

Next, we find Dave in the forest.

"I've been walking for eleven minutes, and I feel like I'm going in circles," he sighed.

"Maybe I should have stayed with the others," he admitted.

An arrow whizzed past him.

"WTF! Where did that arrow come from?" he exclaimed.

It was Duncan, shooting randomly.

"Oh man… no idea where that arrow landed. Note to self: always take more than one arrow," Duncan muttered.

He heard a noise behind him and smirked mischievously.

He pulled out his knife, jumped onto the object, and stabbed it repeatedly… only to discover it was just a bunch of fruit.

"Fruit salad for dessert," Duncan joked.

Then he spotted a giant egg.

"And an omelet for dinner. Nice," he said, picking it up.

A strange noise echoed… but none of the campers noticed.

Duncan returned to the treehouse, where Gwen and Leshawna were waiting.

Leshawna was eating chocolate.

"Hey, where did you get that chocolate?" Duncan asked.

"I always keep a chocolate bar with me," Leshawna replied.

"Smart. If we ever get stuck on a deserted island, it could come in handy. You'll have to share with us, or we'll starve," Duncan argued.

"Sorry, but you're the one who said 'every man for himself,'" Leshawna retorted.

The strange noise returned, and this time the campers heard it.

"What was that noise?" Gwen asked.

"No idea, but it didn't sound good," Duncan declared.

Then we switch to Dave, who was still in the forest.

"You can't be serious. Where is the exit?" Dave said.

He heard the noise again.

"Okay, I'm not staying here," Dave said.

He ran to the confessional.

"At least here, I can think of a plan," Dave declared.

In reality, the noise was Chef blowing a horn.

"Brunch is served," Chef announced.

"Brunch! What a great meal, don't you think? You've already digested your breakfast, but you're not yet hungry for lunch," Chris said.

"This is mostly nonsense," Chef muttered.

"Ice cream! You really outdid yourself, Chef," Chris added.

Chef blew the horn again.

The campers heard it once more.

"That's Chris trying to scare you," Dave said.

Then we cut back to the other campers.

"That thing is never going to stop," Leshawna said.

Gwen's stomach started growling from hunger.

"Whatever it is, I'm not staying here," Gwen said, having just finished building her raft.

"But you don't even know how to leave," Leshawna pointed out.

"I don't care. At least I'll be off this island," Gwen said.

"I can give you my egg in exchange for a spot on your raft," Duncan offered.

Confessional: Gwen

I didn't really want to take him with me, but I was too hungry.

End of confessional

She started feeling even hungrier.

"Alright," Gwen agreed.

"Wait, you're leaving me here alone?" Leshawna said.

"You're not alone, Dave is with you," Duncan replied.

"You can't form an alliance together, you said it was every man for himself," Leshawna reminded them.

"We're not an alliance, we're just helping each other," Duncan said.

"I offered you to come, but you refused," Gwen added.

"Stay with me, and I'll help you," Leshawna insisted.

Confessional: Leshawna

Okay, I wasn't really scared, but seeing them leave together and leaving me alone was really not cool.

End of confessional

Dave came out of the confessional.

"The first thing I need to do is find some food," Dave said.

Then we cut to Chris, having fun with Chef.

The two were playing a limbo game.

"It feels so good to be out in the open," Chris said.

"Too bad our three guys can't enjoy all this. Maybe we should send them a video," Chris suggested.

Then we find Gwen and Duncan on the water.

"You row like a girl," Duncan said.

"If you don't think it's going fast enough, you can get out," Gwen snapped.

"Then give me the oar," Duncan said, trying to grab it.

"No, it's my raft, I'll row," Gwen insisted.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you've made us go in circles. We're back where we started," Duncan pointed out.

When they landed, they saw empty coconuts and footprints.

"Looks like our deserted island isn't so deserted after all," Gwen said, panicked.

"You brought us back here. I'm taking my egg back," Duncan declared.

They started fighting over the egg when a huge bird flew past them.

"You can keep your egg," Gwen said, panicked.

"No, no, please, I insist," Duncan said, just as panicked.

The bird flew toward them and grabbed Duncan.

To save him, Gwen grabbed a rope and threw it at the bird, but the bird lifted them both into the air.

Then we cut to Dave, back at the cabin.

"Where did they go?" Dave asked.

"They left on a raft," Leshawna explained.

"But this is just a challenge! If they leave the island, they'll be eliminated," Dave said.

"Doesn't matter, they left me here," Leshawna shrugged.

"At least we'll already be in the finals," Dave said.

Screams could be heard in the sky.

"Do you hear something?" Leshawna asked.

"Yeah, a very weird noise," Dave replied.

It was Duncan and Gwen, flying above them toward the bird.

Duncan's idea was to stab the bird in the legs.

The bird screamed in pain and dropped Gwen and Duncan, who fell right next to Dave and Leshawna.

"We're not alone on the island," Gwen declared.

"What?!" Dave and Leshawna shouted.

"We saw footprints and empty coconuts," Duncan explained.

"That was me when I was alone," Dave admitted.

"Seriously?" Gwen asked.

"Yeah, of course," Dave lied.

At that moment, a giant snake lunged at the campers.

"This isn't real, we're cursed!" Dave shouted.

"Run!" Leshawna yelled.

The campers took refuge on top of the cabin, looking down at the snake in panic.

"How can a snake be that big?" Dave asked.

"I don't know, but it's both scary and cool," Duncan said.

Then we cut to Chris and Chef, having coffee.

"So, Chef, how do you think the campers are doing on... a deserted island?" Chris asked.

"If you ask me, a lot of things could've happened. Either a bear attacked them... or they fell off a cliff... or they starved to death," Chef speculated.

"Maybe I should check the screens and see what we can keep in the final cut," Chris said.

Chef Hatchet grabbed Chris and started rocking him like a baby.

"Chris, you are a dedicated host. You are an inspiration," Chef Hatchet said.

"Thanks, man. That's my thing," Chris responded.

Then we switch back to the campers, who had returned to the cabin.

"So, what do we do now?" Duncan asked.

"We're going to have fun," Leshawna said.

"You wanna burn the forest?! I already have a lighter," Duncan said.

"What? No! That's not what I meant," Leshawna replied.

"Then what were you thinking?" Dave asked.

"Let's play guessing games," said Leshawna.

"Okay, I'll start," said Gwen. "What floats on water and gets us off this crappy island?"

"A raft," said Duncan.

"Good job, except now we don't have one anymore," said Gwen.

"That's not my fault, okay?" said Duncan.

"I'm so done with this stupid show," said Dave.

"Stop, there's no show anymore, we're lost, and everyone thinks we're dead," said Gwen.

"Let me convince myself this is just a challenge, and I'll put it in perspective," said Dave.

"But it's not. You need to understand that to survive," explained Gwen.

"Calm down. Whether it's a challenge or not, we need to stick together and think. If it's a challenge, it will end, and if it's not, we have to survive," said Leshawna.

"To think we might die here when I haven't even finished everything I wanted to do," said Duncan.

"Me neither. I've never dated a girl, and I've never fulfilled my fantasies either," said Dave.

Confessional: Gwen

At that moment, I thought my head was going to explode. Supporting Leshawna is always good, but being with Dave and Duncan is unbearable. They never listen to what I say—one thinks it's a challenge, and the other thinks the producers are coming to get us. Hello? We're not in fairyland.

Confessional: Dave

I know at first, I thought this was a challenge, but with what I've seen, there's a chance we're totally lost. But my challenge hypothesis is still there.

End of Confessional

"You know what we could do to pass the time?" said Leshawna.

"Run for our lives and leave you here with your riddles?" said Duncan.

"No, we're going to play another game. Let's confess everything we've done wrong," said Leshawna.

"No way," said Dave.

"Seriously, confession is the best way to feel better. Why do you think people confess in churches?" said Leshawna.

"I've done horrible things, but can you handle my worst secret?" said Duncan.

"I've done a marathon of every horror movie ever, and you think your little story is going to scare me?" said Gwen.

"Cool," said Duncan.

"Then let's do it," said Leshawna.

The campers looked at each other hesitantly before gathering and revealing their most terrible secrets.

"That's why you went to juvie?" said Gwen.

"Yeah, but it's not as bad as what Leshawna did," said Duncan.

"I admit I went a little too far, but it's not as bad as what Gwen did, if that's even your real name," said Leshawna.

Gwen felt guilty.

"Your secrets are so horrible they could be the plot of a horror movie," said Dave.

"Thank you," said Duncan and Gwen.

"That wasn't a compliment," said Dave.

"So, how do you feel now? I'm sure you feel better," said Leshawna.

"No, I'm just completely terrified of you," said Dave, lying down on the bed.

At that moment, a spider landed on Dave.

"A spider got me!" screamed Dave, running around frantically.

"Calm down, Dave, it's just a spider," said Duncan.

Dave ran out of the cabin and saw smoke.

"Guys, I really don't think we're alone," said Dave.

The others came to see.

"The rescue team?" said Duncan, rushing to check.

"Or maybe cannibals," said Gwen.

"Or castaways like us," said Leshawna.

"Or maybe it's just Chris messing with us," said Dave.

"There's only one way to find out. We're going," said Duncan.

"You're crazy! What if they are cannibals?" said Gwen.

"We need to disguise ourselves so they won't recognize us if we ever see them again," explained Leshawna.

Leshawna applied makeup to the other campers. Duncan was painted blue with black stripes over his eyes, Leshawna and Gwen had red stripes over their eyes and red dots on their cheeks, and Dave wore a mask made of leaves because he refused to wear makeup. They all had wooden spears, and Duncan carried his bow.

"I'm not sure this is a good idea," said Gwen.

"Me neither," said Dave.

"We'll scare the hunters, and they'll never attack us again," said Leshawna.

"We only have one problem left—the ten-meter-long python waiting for us down there," said Dave.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of it," said Duncan.

He shot two arrows at the giant snake, one in its body and the other in its tail, to stop it from moving. To finish it off, Duncan jumped on it, pulled out his pocket knife, and stabbed it in the head.

The other campers were shocked.

"I know I did well," said Duncan.

"Wow, that was badass," said Dave.

"Why didn't you do that earlier?" said Gwen.

"Because I didn't have my bow," said Duncan.

"Let's not waste time. Let's go," said Leshawna.

The campers ran through the forest, getting closer and closer to the smoke before Leshawna stopped them.

"Guys, we might not make it out alive, but I have to say, despite our differences, I've enjoyed being with you," said Leshawna.

"Yeah, as weird as it sounds, me too," said Gwen.

"It's been a good experience overall," said Dave.

After that emotional moment, the campers headed toward the smoke. Their surprise was complete when they saw Chris.

"Hey guys, took you long enough to get here," said Chris.

"Wait, so this was really just a challenge?" said Gwen.

"This could be a mirage," said Leshawna.

"No, I'm real, and you're in the secret filming crew's hideout—well, until today," said Chris. It was a beautiful place, full of food and a trailer for resting.

"I was right! I knew it!" said Dave.

"But what about the dinosaur skeleton?" said Leshawna.

"And the prehistoric bird?" said Duncan.

"We found them on a prehistoric film set," explained Chris.

"So while we were lost, you were here, less than 100 meters away from us?" said Gwen.

Suddenly, it started to rain. Chris and Chef went into the trailer.

"That's exactly right. I would have invited you, but there was only room for six people. Let's meet at the campfire," said Chris.

That evening

The campers sat in front of Chris, their makeup now gone.

"Well, it wasn't an easy day, and frankly, Chef and I are exhausted. I hope you've learned two big lessons. First: always check if your cabin is anchored to the ground. Second: Too bad there's no alliance anymore—it makes things less cool. Four brains are always better than one," said Chris.

"Chris, who won the challenge?" said Gwen.

"The winner is Dave. He's the only one who figured out it was a challenge. He's immune and will enjoy a delicious meal with Chef and me," said Chris.

"Yes! You should have believed me from the start," said Dave.

"Now, let's move on to the heartbreaking marshmallow ceremony," said Chris.

"Wait a minute, there are four marshmallows on the tray—one for each of us," said Duncan.

"Good observation, dude," said Chris.

"Leshawna."

"Gwen."

"Duncan."

"You're all staying. This was just a reward challenge," said Chris.

"So we went through all that for nothing?" said Leshawna.

"No, not Dave," said Chris.

"By the way, everything we have here stays here," said Gwen.

"Yeah," said Duncan.

"No problem," said Leshawna.

"That's the end of this episode, full of arguments just the way I like it. If you want to know who will be eliminated next, don't miss the next episode of TOTAL DRAMA... ISLAND!"

End of Chapter 23

Author's Note: We're slowly approaching the end, and I'm happy because it's been a year since I started writing this fanfic. As for this chapter, I decided to end the alliance because it would have caused problems for the rest of the story.
