An Alolashipping Story By Me.

Ash is 17

Lillie is 17

The late afternoon sun cast a golden glow over Hau'oli City's harbor, the soft rustle of the ocean waves mixing with the distant call of Wingulls. Ash adjusted his hat and gave Pikachu a reassuring pat on the head. The ferry to Kanto was moments away from departure, and the familiar tug of excitement for the next adventure bubbled in his chest. Yet, today, it was tinged with something else—a heaviness he couldn't quite explain.

Lillie stood a few feet away, hands clasped tightly in front of her. The Alolan breeze tousled her platinum hair as she gazed at him, her emerald eyes shimmering, not with sadness, but with something deeper. Ash felt his pulse quicken as he glanced her way.

"I guess this is it, huh?" Ash said, forcing a grin. "Don't worry, though—I promise to visit when I can."

Lillie nodded, but her expression remained earnest. She took a step closer, her sandals whispering against the wooden pier. For a moment, neither of them spoke. The world seemed to quiet around them, leaving only the sound of their breathing and the rhythmic lap of the waves.

"Ash," she finally said, her voice soft but steady. He blinked, caught off guard by the unusual intensity in her tone. "Before you go… there's something I've been wanting to tell you."

He tilted his head, curiosity piqued. "What is it, Lillie?"

She hesitated, looking down for a brief moment as if gathering courage. Then, raising her gaze to meet his, she smiled—a warm, fragile smile that made his chest feel tight.

"I… I'm really glad I met you. You've taught me so much—not just about Pokémon, but about being brave, and... about believing in myself."

Ash opened his mouth to reply, but the words caught in his throat. Lillie wasn't done yet.

"And... well... I want you to know that you're special to me. More than anyone else I've met." A faint blush dusted her cheeks, but her eyes remained locked on his, unwavering.

Ash felt the heat rise to his own face, and he quickly adjusted his cap, an awkward laugh escaping his lips. I—uh—I don't know what to say."

The ferry horn blared, cutting through the moment like a sudden gust of wind. Pikachu nudged his trainer's leg, as if reminding him it was time to go. But Ash couldn't move—not yet. He looked at Lillie, and for the first time in his life, words failed him completely

The ferry horn echoed again, its sound rippling through the salty Alolan air. Ash shifted his weight, his sneakers scuffing against the wooden dock. Lillie's words still hung in the space between them, invisible yet impossibly heavy.

For a fleeting second, Ash thought he saw her take another step closer. Or maybe it was just the way the light danced across the pier. The golden hues of the setting sun framed her figure perfectly, as if the moment itself had been pulled from a dream. Pikachu tilted its head, watching the scene unfold with a quiet curiosity.

"Lillie," Ash began, his voice softer than usual, almost hesitant. He looked at her—not just at her, but through the moment, trying to decipher the emotions she had stirred within him. His heart thumped hard against his ribcage.

Lillie smiled again, this time with a hint of shyness, her hands fidgeting with the edge of her white dress. "I... I just wanted to say that I'll miss you, Ash. More than you know." Her voice trembled slightly, betraying the emotions she'd fought so hard to keep under control.

Ash swallowed, his throat suddenly dry. "I'll miss you too, Lillie," he said, the words coming out uncharacteristically quiet. He meant it—more than he realized until now.

The ferry crew began calling for final boarding, their voices loud and brash against the soft melody of the moment. Still, neither of them moved.

Finally, Lillie spoke again, her voice barely audible over the bustling sounds around them. "You've been... a light for me, Ash. A constant one. And even if we're apart, I want to believe that... that light will never go out."

The sincerity in her words made Ash's cheeks burn. He could feel the warmth creeping up to his ears, and his hand instinctively reached for the brim of his hat, tilting it low to hide the blush threatening to give him away.

"Yeah... I mean, uh, of course!" he stammered, his words fumbling as he tried to keep his usual confident tone. "You don't have to worry about that, Lillie. You'll do great, and I'll... I'll never forget you. That's a promise."

Lillie's lips parted slightly, as if she wanted to say more, but the ferry horn blared one last time, cutting her off. The crew waved him forward urgently now, their shouts leaving no room for delay.

Ash turned toward the ferry, taking a few steps before stopping again. He hesitated, glancing back over his shoulder. The look on Lillie's face was one he'd never seen before—soft, wistful, and somehow full of emotions he couldn't quite put into words.

He gave her a small, awkward wave. "See you around, Lillie."

As the ferry pulled away from the dock, Ash stood at the railing, watching as the island of Alola grew smaller in the distance. Yet, even as the horizon swallowed the place he'd called home for so long, one thought lingered in his mind—a question, gentle yet insistent.

What if there was more to what she had wanted to say? And more importantly... what if he wanted to hear it?

--

Ash leaned against the railing of the ferry, the island of Alola shrinking slowly behind him. The orange hues of the setting sun painted the water in golden streaks, and he couldn't help but feel the weight of the moment—a mix of excitement for his next journey and the bittersweet ache of leaving friends behind. Pikachu perched on his shoulder, its ears twitching as it gazed back at the dock.

As the ferry had prepared to pull away, Ash had made sure to say his goodbyes to everyone. His words had been full of genuine warmth and encouragement, but there was an edge in his voice as he addressed Gladion directly.

"Take care of Lillie," Ash had said, stepping closer to Gladion with an intensity in his eyes that caught the older boy off guard. "And I mean it. If anything happens to her, I'll come back... and trust me, you'll wish I hadn't."

Gladion raised an eyebrow, his expression hard to read, but after a moment, he gave a single nod. "Don't worry, Ketchum. I'll look out for her. But don't think you can boss me around just because you're leaving."

A small smirk tugged at Ash's lips, and he tapped the brim of his cap. "I'm serious, Gladion." The unspoken understanding between them lingered in the air, charged with unyielding resolve.

Now, as Ash replayed the moment in his mind, he couldn't shake the memory of Lillie's voice—soft yet unwavering. The look in her eyes as she spoke to him earlier had been different, meaningful in a way he was still trying to wrap his head around.

He exhaled deeply, letting the salty breeze fill his lungs. "Did she mean something more, Pikachu?" he muttered, the words barely audible. Pikachu tilted its head and let out a soft "Pika," as though sharing in his uncertainty.

Ash leaned back, clutching his hat as the wind whipped through his hair. The sun was almost touching the horizon now, and yet, he couldn't bring himself to let go of the thought. Alola may have been behind him physically, but in his mind, it lingered—Lillie lingered.

The ferry's horn blared, signaling its arrival at the dock of the Galar region. Ash adjusted his hat, feeling the familiar mix of excitement and determination bubbling within him. Pikachu perched on his shoulder, its ears flicking in anticipation as they approached yet another new adventure.

The air in Galar felt different—crisp, with a cool breeze that carried the promise of discovery. As Ash stepped off the boat, he paused to take it all in. Rolling hills stretched in the distance, dotted with towns and towering spires that reached for the sky. Trainers bustled about the port, their Pokémon by their sides, each one as eager as he was to make their mark here.

But as much as he wanted to dive into this new journey, Ash found his thoughts drifting. It had been days since he'd left Alola, and despite all the activity aboard the ferry, Lillie's voice had lingered in his mind like a gentle melody he couldn't quite shake.

He stuffed his hands into his pockets and sighed, glancing out at the horizon where the waves met the sky. "I wonder how she's doing, Pikachu," he murmured. Pikachu looked up at him, its round eyes glinting with curiosity.

Reaching into his bag, Ash pulled out his Rotom Dex phone, the sleek device glowing softly as it powered on. He hesitated for a moment, staring at Lillie's contact name on the screen. The small icon of her cheerful smile stared back at him, and he felt a strange flutter in his chest.

"Should we call her, buddy?" he asked Pikachu. The Electric-type let out an encouraging "Pika!" and nudged his arm with its nose.

With a deep breath, Ash tapped the call button. The phone beeped softly as it began to connect, the seconds stretching longer than he thought possible. The anticipation tightened in his chest, and for a moment, he wondered if she might be too busy to answer—or if she might not answer at all.

Then, a faint click broke the silence, and Lillie's familiar voice came through the receiver. "Hello? Ash?" she said, her tone bright yet tinged with a hint of surprise.

Ash's face lit up, and he couldn't help but grin. "Hey, Lillie! How's it going?" he asked, keeping his voice casual, though he could feel his pulse quickening.

"I didn't expect to hear from you so soon," Lillie admitted, her voice warm. "I'm doing well. How about you? Did you make it to Galar safely?"

Ash nodded, even though she couldn't see him. "Yeah, we just got here. It's pretty amazing so far, but..." He trailed off, glancing at Pikachu, who gave him a small nudge as if to encourage him to keep going.

"But what?" Lillie prompted, her voice soft but curious.

Ash chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. "I guess... I was just wondering how things are back in Alola. And, uh, how you're doing." The words felt clumsier than he intended, but he meant every one of them.

--

"Lusamine needs my help with something," Lillie said over the phone, her voice apologetic but warm. "But I'll call you later, okay? I promise."

Ash smiled, leaning against a lamppost near the bustling dock. "Yeah, no problem. Just don't forget," he teased lightly.

"I won't," Lillie assured him with a soft laugh. There was a brief pause, as if she wanted to say something else, but the moment passed. "Take care, Ash."

"You too, Lillie," he replied, a hint of hesitation in his voice, but the call ended before he could say more. As the screen dimmed, he stared at the phone for a moment before slipping it back into his pocket.

Ash exhaled deeply, looking around at the unfamiliar surroundings of the Galar region. The world here felt new and exciting, but part of him still lingered in Alola. Shaking off the thought for now, he decided to focus on getting prepared. "Come on, Pikachu. Let's hit the PokéMart," he said, and his partner Pokémon chirped in agreement.

The PokéMart was bustling with trainers stocking up on supplies. Ash browsed the aisles thoughtfully, grabbing a handful of Max Heals, Hyper Potions, and Revives to ensure he was ready for whatever challenges awaited him. He paid at the counter, thanked the cashier, and stepped back into the sunlight with his bag of items slung over his shoulder.

As he walked out, he almost didn't notice the familiar voice calling his name.

"Ash? Ash Ketchum? Is that really you?"

He turned, his eyes widening as he recognized Dawn standing a few feet away, her Piplup at her side. "Dawn!" he said, surprised but happy. "Wow, it's been forever!"

Dawn smiled brightly, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "I can't believe it! What are you doing here in Galar?"

"I just got here," Ash said, laughing as Pikachu hopped down to greet Piplup. "I'm starting a new journey, you know, catching Pokémon, meeting new friends—the usual."

Dawn grinned. "Same old Ash," she said fondly. Then, after a pause, her tone became more thoughtful. "You know, I was wondering…"

Ash raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"Did you ever figure out if anyone liked you?" she asked, a hint of teasing in her voice, though there was a genuine curiosity underneath it.

Ash blinked, caught off guard by the question. He scratched the back of his neck and adjusted his cap. "Uh, well... I guess I did," he admitted, feeling heat rise to his cheeks.

Dawn tilted her head, intrigued. "Really? Who is it?"

Ash looked away, his expression thoughtful. In his mind, there was only one person he was thinking about—Lillie. But he wasn't ready to share that, not yet. "It's... complicated," he said, giving her a sheepish grin.

Dawn narrowed her eyes at him playfully. "Come on, you can't just leave me hanging like that!"

Ash laughed awkwardly. "Sorry, Dawn. You'll just have to wait and see."

--

Traveling with Dawn again felt both nostalgic and strange for Ash. They had shared so many adventures together in the past, but this time felt different. Dawn had grown—her confidence seemed stronger, her bond with her Pokémon even more polished. But there was also something else—a kind of closeness she seemed to want, one that Ash wasn't sure how to respond to.

At first, he thought maybe he was imagining it. But as they walked along the winding path lined with tall grass and wildflowers, Dawn gave him a playful nudge and asked, "So, Ash... have you ever thought about us? You know, as more than just friends?"

Ash nearly tripped over his own feet. He fumbled for words, laughing awkwardly as he adjusted the brim of his hat. "Uh, Dawn, you're a great friend and all, but, uh..." His voice trailed off as an unbidden image of Lillie's smile flashed in his mind. He rubbed the back of his neck, his cheeks flushing. "I kind of... like someone else."

Dawn raised an eyebrow, stopping in her tracks. "Oh? Who?" she asked, her tone light but curious.

Ash looked away, pretending to focus on the path ahead. "It's... complicated," he muttered, Pikachu shooting him a knowing look from his shoulder.

Before Dawn could press him further, the air suddenly filled with a loud, ominous buzzing. The sound grew louder, sharper, until Ash and Dawn froze, their eyes widening as a swarm of Beedrill erupted from the bushes nearby. The menacing Bug- and Poison-type Pokémon hovered aggressively, their sharp stingers gleaming in the sunlight.

"Beedrill!" Dawn gasped, grabbing Piplup's Pokéball. "Ash, what do we do?"

Ash quickly reached for his own Pokéball, but not just any Pokéball. This one gleamed faintly, its design adorned with streaks of emerald green that shimmered like scales. Without hesitation, he hurled it into the air, his voice firm and commanding. "Rayquaza, come on out!"

A brilliant flash of light erupted from the Pokéball, and a massive, serpentine figure unfurled itself in the sky. Rayquaza, the Legendary Pokémon of the ozone layer, let out a thunderous roar, its emerald body gleaming under the sun. The Beedrill hesitated, their formation faltering as the sheer presence of Rayquaza overwhelmed them.

Dawn stood frozen, her mouth hanging open in shock. "Ash... you caught Rayquaza?!" she managed to stammer, barely able to tear her eyes away from the legendary Pokémon.

Ash grinned, feeling a surge of confidence as he pointed toward the swarm. "Yeah, long story. Rayquaza, use Air Slash!"

Rayquaza roared once more, whipping its massive body through the air as it unleashed a flurry of shimmering blades that sliced through the air with precision. The Beedrill scattered, retreating back into the forest in a frantic buzz. Within moments, the danger had passed, and the path was clear once again.

Dawn turned to Ash, her expression a mix of awe and disbelief. "You've really grown, Ash. I mean... Rayquaza? That's incredible."

Ash scratched his head sheepishly, laughing. "Yeah, I guess I've come a long way. But, you know, it's not just about catching strong Pokémon. It's about the bond we share with them." His words came naturally, but deep down, he couldn't help but think of Lillie again—how much he wanted to share his journey with her, and how she'd react to seeing Rayquaza.

Pikachu hopped onto Ash's head, chirping happily as the group began moving forward again. Dawn glanced at him, curiosity still burning in her eyes. "You're not off the hook, you know. I still want to know who this mystery girl is," she said with a teasing smile.

Ash laughed nervously, pulling his cap lower over his face. "Like I said, it's complicated."

--

As the forest canopy swayed gently overhead, Rayquaza's emerald form disappeared into the sky, her elegant figure gliding effortlessly above the treetops. Ash smiled as he watched her vanish into the distance, glad to give her some freedom after all the action with the Beedrill.

Dawn walked beside him, her curiosity unabated. "So, Ash," she began, her tone light but persistent, "are you ever going to tell me who this girl is, or do I have to keep guessing?"

Ash groaned, adjusting the strap of his bag. "Dawn, I already said it's complicated," he said, trying to deflect, though he knew it was futile. Dawn wasn't one to back down once her interest was piqued.

"Complicated or not, I'm your friend," Dawn countered, her voice playful but insistent. "Come on, you can trust me."

Ash sighed, Pikachu looking up at him as if to share in his exasperation. After enduring what felt like a barrage of questions—everything from "Does she like Pokémon?" to "Does she have green eyes?"—he finally threw his hands up. "Okay, fine!" he said, stopping in his tracks.

Dawn grinned triumphantly, folding her arms as she waited for him to speak.

"Her name's Lillie," Ash admitted, a faint blush creeping onto his cheeks. He tugged at the brim of his hat, unable to meet Dawn's gaze. "She lives in Alola, and... that's all I'm telling you."

"Lillie, huh?" Dawn said, tilting her head thoughtfully. "That's a pretty name. So, what's she like?"

"That's it," Ash said firmly, holding up a hand. "No more questions. And don't even think about going to Alola to find her. I'm going to tell her how I feel someday... when the time's right. She's supposed to visit soon anyway, so just... don't interfere, okay?"

Dawn raised her hands in mock surrender, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Alright, alright. I won't meddle. But for the record, I think you're being way too secretive."

Ash rolled his eyes, starting to walk again. "I'm not being secretive. I just... don't want to mess things up."

Dawn fell into step beside him, her expression softening. "Hey, I get it. If she's that important to you, then I won't pry. But when you do confess, you'd better tell me how it goes."

Ash chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "Yeah... sure."

As they continued through the forest, the topic shifted to lighter matters—stories from their previous adventures, new Pokémon they'd encountered, and the endless possibilities waiting for them in Galar. But in the back of Ash's mind, one thought remained constant: Lillie. The idea of seeing her again filled him with equal parts excitement and nerves, and he silently hoped he'd find the courage to say what he'd been holding back for so long.

--

Ash and Dawn walked side by side, the forest path crunching under their feet as the midday sun filtered through the trees. Dawn's curiosity hadn't waned one bit since their earlier conversation, and she kept peppering Ash with questions.

"So, what's she like? Is she into Pokémon battles, or is she more of a researcher type?" Dawn asked, her tone light and teasing. "And what kind of Pokémon does she use? Oh! I bet she has cute ones, like Sylveon or Togekiss!"

Ash groaned, rubbing his temple. "Dawn, can we talk about something else? You're worse than a reporter," he said, trying to change the subject. But Dawn wasn't letting up.

"Okay, fine," she said, smirking. "At least tell me where we're headed."

Ash glanced at her, considering his answer. "We're going to the Kalos region," he finally said.

Dawn's eyes lit up with excitement. "Kalos? Really? What for?"

Ash shrugged, trying to keep his tone casual. "Just need to pick up an old friend, that's all."

An old friend? Dawn narrowed her eyes, her suspicions immediately landing on one name. "Wait a second," she said, stepping in front of him. "You're talking about Greninja, aren't you?"

Ash didn't reply, instead looking up at the trees as if he hadn't heard her. Dawn crossed her arms. "You're so predictable," she muttered, though there was a playful glint in her eyes.

Before she could press him further, a familiar ringtone cut through the air. Ash quickly pulled out his Rotom Dex phone, glancing at the screen. "It's Lillie," he said, gesturing to Dawn to keep quiet.

Dawn rolled her eyes but mimed zipping her lips, stepping aside as Ash answered the call.

"Lillie!" Ash said, his tone immediately lighter. Pikachu perked up on his shoulder, its ears twitching at the sound of her name.

"Ash!" Lillie's voice came through, cheerful yet calm. "How's your journey so far?"

"It's been great," Ash said, leaning against a tree as he spoke. "We've seen some pretty cool stuff already. What about you?"

Lillie's voice brightened. "I've been doing well! I took your Pokémon out earlier so they could stretch their legs. They're all doing great—especially Lycanroc. Oh, and I caught a new Pokémon today!"

"Really? What'd you catch?" Ash asked, genuinely curious.

"A Duskull," Lillie said, a hint of pride in her tone. "It's a Ghost and Psychic type. Isn't that cool?"

"That's awesome, Lillie!" Ash said, grinning. "Sounds like you're becoming a real pro at this."

Lillie giggled softly. "Thanks, Ash. So, how's your adventure going? Any new Pokémon?"

Ash hesitated for a moment, then glanced at Dawn, who was pretending not to eavesdrop while Piplup tried to climb a nearby log. "Uh, well, I kind of picked up an old traveling companion," he said carefully.

"An old companion?" Lillie's voice had a questioning edge. "Who?"

"Dawn," Ash replied, keeping his tone neutral.

There was a brief pause on the other end of the line. "Dawn?" Lillie repeated, her voice quieter. "Are you two... traveling together?"

Ash could almost feel the unspoken question in her tone. "Yeah, but it's not like that," he said quickly. "I like someone else. Not Dawn."

The silence on the other end lasted a moment too long before Lillie let out a soft sigh, one Ash could only interpret as relief. "Oh, I see," she said.

Before Ash could say anything else, he noticed the Kalos region's iconic Prism Tower coming into view in the distance. "Hey, Lillie," he said, his voice softening. "I've got to go. We just made it to Kalos to pick up an old companion."

"Oh, okay," Lillie said, her tone warm again. "Take care, Ash."

"You too," Ash replied, and just as he ended the call, he muttered under his breath, "Love you, Lillie."

The call ended before he realized he'd said it aloud, and his eyes widened slightly. Pikachu gave him a knowing look, but Ash just shook his head, trying to convince himself it didn't matter. "She didn't hear that, did she?" he mumbled.

Meanwhile, back in Alola, Lillie stared at her phone, her heart racing. Had she heard him right? Surely not. She shook her head, trying to push the thought away, but her cheeks were flushed, and a small smile tugged at her lips.

"I'll have to ask him when I see him in Pallet Town," she murmured to herself.

Back in Kalos, Dawn raised an eyebrow at Ash. "So, who's the 'old companion' we're picking up?" she asked, smirking.

"You'll see," Ash said, dodging the question. But as they continued walking, his thoughts drifted back to Lillie, her voice replaying in his mind like a soft melody he couldn't forget.

--

Ash treaded carefully through the serene forest of Kalos, the sounds of chirping Fletchling blending with the rustling of leaves. Rayquaza floated gracefully beside him, her massive form weaving between the treetops with the same elegance as a feather gliding on the wind. The dragon's presence was commanding, but she remained silent, sensing the importance of Ash's focus.

Ash stopped suddenly, his hand hovering near his heart. He could feel it—a faint yet unmistakable connection that had never truly faded. Greninja was close. He turned to Rayquaza and raised a hand, his voice steady. "Stay back for now. This is something I need to do alone."

Rayquaza gave a low, rumbling growl of acknowledgment and ascended higher, her emerald body disappearing into the canopy above. Ash took a deep breath and stepped forward. Within moments, the brush ahead of him rustled, and a familiar figure emerged.

Greninja's sharp eyes met Ash's, and for a split second, time seemed to freeze. Then, without warning, Greninja darted forward, his hand slapping Ash hard across the cheek. The sound echoed through the forest.

"Ow!" Ash yelped, stumbling slightly but managing to catch himself. He rubbed his cheek, looking at Greninja with a mix of surprise and guilt. "Okay, okay! I deserve that."

Greninja crossed his arms, his expression stern, but Ash could feel the Pokémon's emotions more clearly than words could convey. The unspoken frustration, the question of why he had been left behind—it all surged between them like a current. But beneath it all, there was something else—a bond that had never broken.

Ash smiled softly, placing a hand over his chest. "I missed you too, buddy," he said. The connection between them seemed to pulse, and in that moment, their thoughts intertwined. Emotions flowed freely: regret, understanding, and finally, forgiveness.

Rayquaza, watching from above, tilted her head in confusion. Even as the guardian of the skies, she couldn't grasp the telepathic bond shared between these two. With a gentle flap of her wings, she descended once more, curious but respectful.

Minutes later, Ash returned to Dawn, who was leaning against a tree, her Piplup hopping excitedly by her feet. Her eyes lit up as soon as she saw Greninja and Rayquaza following close behind. "I knew it!" she said triumphantly. "We came here for Greninja, didn't we?"

Greninja glanced at Ash, his sharp gaze questioning but calm. Ash couldn't help but laugh awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. "No, Greninja," he said, his tone soft but firm. "I don't think of Dawn that way. She does about me, but... I don't."

Greninja blinked, tilting his head slightly as if processing Ash's words. Then, with a subtle nod, he seemed to understand. Ash's next words were quieter, almost hesitant, as if speaking them out loud made them more real. "I've got eyes for another girl."

Greninja's expression softened, a glimmer of understanding and support in his eyes. He took a step closer to Ash, patting his shoulder with a hand as if to say, I've got your back.

Dawn, meanwhile, was looking between them with curiosity, clearly trying to figure out what unspoken conversation had just occurred. She opened her mouth to say something, but Ash cut her off. "Let's just keep moving," he said quickly, gesturing toward the path ahead.

As they continued their journey, Greninja walked close to Ash's side, and Rayquaza soared above, her emerald scales glinting in the sunlight. In Ash's mind, the words he had just said lingered. Admitting his feelings—even just to Greninja—felt like the first step toward something bigger. Something he hoped he'd have the courage to face when the time ca

--

The trio—Ash, Dawn, and Greninja—along with Rayquaza soaring above, pressed forward into the heart of Kalos. The region's lush forests gave way to rolling fields, the vibrant landscape alive with the chatter of wild Pokémon. Dawn couldn't help but glance back at Greninja every now and then, her curiosity still bubbling beneath the surface.

"You know, Ash," she said as they crossed a narrow bridge over a sparkling stream, "Greninja's really impressive. I mean, I've seen a lot of strong Pokémon, but there's something special about him. You two share a bond, don't you? Like, more than the usual bond between a trainer and their Pokémon."

Ash smiled, his gaze softening as he looked at Greninja. "Yeah, we do. We've been through a lot together. Greninja's not just a Pokémon to me—he's a partner, a teammate, and..." He paused, searching for the right words. "And a friend who's always had my back."

Greninja let out a quiet grunt of acknowledgment, his sharp eyes scanning the horizon as if to guard against any danger. Dawn smiled, noting the unspoken connection between them, but decided not to press further—for now.

As the group continued their journey, the sun began to dip lower in the sky, painting the world in hues of orange and gold. Rayquaza occasionally cast her immense shadow over them, her presence both reassuring and awe-inspiring. Ash felt a sense of peace settling over him—a rare moment of calm amidst the excitement of new adventures.

But even in this tranquility, his thoughts kept drifting back to Lillie. He replayed the phone call in his mind, her voice so clear and warm, and her laugh like a melody he couldn't forget. Had she really heard him say those three words at the end? The possibility made his chest tighten, a mix of nervousness and excitement swirling within him.

As they neared a small town, the distant hum of life grew louder—villagers bustling about, Pokémon playing in the open fields, and the comforting aroma of freshly baked bread wafting through the air. Ash's stomach growled, prompting a laugh from Dawn.

"Looks like someone's ready for dinner," she teased.

Ash laughed sheepishly, rubbing his stomach. "Yeah, I guess I could eat."

They decided to stop at a cozy inn near the town square, the warm glow of lanterns inviting them inside. After settling in and ordering a hearty meal, the group sat around a table, the mood light and cheerful. Even Greninja relaxed slightly, though he kept a watchful eye on the room.

As the evening wore on, Dawn leaned back in her chair, a mischievous glint in her eye. "So, Ash," she began, her tone teasing, "you've got Rayquaza, Greninja, and this mysterious girl you're head over heels for. What's next on your agenda? Saving the world again?"

Ash chuckled, shaking his head. "I'm just taking things one step at a time," he said, his voice steady but thoughtful. "But... I do have some things I need to figure out. And someone I need to talk to—when the time is right."

Dawn raised an eyebrow but didn't push further. Instead, she smiled and said, "Well, whatever it is, I'm sure you'll handle it. You always do."

Ash smiled, grateful for her support, even if she didn't know the full story. As the night deepened and the group prepared to rest, Ash found himself gazing out the window at the stars. Pikachu curled up at his side, and Greninja perched silently by the door, ever the vigilant protector.

"Lillie," he whispered to himself, the name carrying a weight of both hope and uncertainty. "I'll tell you how I feel... someday."

And with that thought lingering in his mind, he drifted off to sleep, the journey ahead as bright and full of promise as the stars above.

--

As Ash and Dawn arrived in Pallet Town, the familiar charm of his childhood home brought a sense of comfort. The small town bustled quietly with the rhythms of everyday life, the evening sun casting a warm glow over the houses. Pikachu leapt off Ash's shoulder, excitedly bounding toward the Ketchum household.

Delia Ketchum opened the door with a smile, her eyes lighting up as she saw her son. "Ash! Welcome home!" she exclaimed, wrapping him in a tight hug. "And who's this?" she asked, her gaze landing on Dawn.

"This is Dawn," Ash said, stepping aside so she could introduce herself. "She's a friend of mine from some of my past journeys."

Delia's smile turned mischievous, her brow raising just slightly. "Oh, Ash," she teased, "bringing a girl home already? I didn't realize you two were so close."

Ash's cheeks flushed as he waved his hands defensively. "Mom! It's not like that. Dawn's just a friend, okay? I don't like her like that."

"Then who do you like?" Delia teased further, unable to resist.

Ash adjusted his cap nervously. "There's, uh... someone else. She's coming to visit in a few days. You'll meet her then."

Delia clapped her hands together excitedly. "A girl you like? Oh, Ash, that's wonderful! I can't wait to meet her!"

"She's not here yet, Mom," Ash mumbled, his voice a mix of embarrassment and fondness. "So, don't get ahead of yourself."

Later that evening, Dawn casually mentioned staying over, much to Ash's dismay. "You don't have to stay here, Dawn. There are hotels nearby," Ash said, his tone almost pleading.

"Oh, don't be ridiculous," Dawn replied with a smirk. "I'll just crash here for the night. It's not a big deal." She gave Ash a look that said there was no use arguing.

With a resigned sigh, Ash set up an arrangement in his room. "You get the sleeping bag," he said firmly. "I'll take the bed."

"Fine, fine," Dawn said with mock exasperation, though she couldn't help but chuckle at his determination to maintain boundaries.

--

The next morning, Ash rose early, the excitement of the day giving him a renewed energy. He slipped out quietly, leaving Pikachu and Dawn still snoozing, and headed into town. The idea had come to him during breakfast the previous day—a gift for Lillie. Something special, something that would express everything he couldn't quite put into words.

At a small jewelry shop in Pallet Town, Ash found exactly what he was looking for: a stunning 12-carat pink diamond set in a silver necklace. The jeweler showed it to him, explaining the elegance of its design and the craftsmanship that had gone into creating it. Ash was captivated—it was perfect.

But it wasn't complete yet. Ash requested an engraving on the back of the diamond. After a few moments of thought, he settled on the words: *"For My Beautiful Flower. Love, From, Ash."*

When the jeweler handed him the finished piece, Ash smiled, feeling a mixture of nervousness and anticipation. As he held the necklace in his hands, he could already picture Lillie's reaction. "I hope she likes it," he whispered to himself.

With the necklace safely tucked away, Ash returned to his mom's house, determined to prepare for Lillie's arrival and the confession he'd been building up the courage to make.

--

After leaving the store with the bag holding the elegant necklace, Ash felt a mixture of excitement and nerves bubbling inside him. As he approached his house, he noticed the smell of something sweet wafting through the air. Opening the door, he saw his mom in the kitchen, a stack of freshly cooked crépés on the counter.

"Hi, Mom!" he called out cheerfully, hiding the jewelry bag behind his back as he carefully slipped toward his room, doing his best not to catch her attention. Pikachu gave him a curious glance but stayed silent.

Delia, preoccupied with cooking, didn't notice his stealthy movements. Ash quickly stashed the bag in a safe spot and returned to the dining area, where Dawn had already made herself comfortable. He sat down and enjoyed a warm plate of crépés with her, the lighthearted atmosphere putting him at ease for the moment.

--

Later that afternoon, Ash decided to head back into town, his ever-loyal team accompanying him—Rayquaza majestically soaring on his left, Greninja walking silently on his right, and Pikachu perched comfortably on his head. Rayquaza, keeping a watchful eye on Dawn, made her presence clear enough that Dawn hesitated to get too close to Ash.

But Dawn, persistent as ever, wasn't about to let the opportunity for answers slip away. "So, Ash," she began slyly, "about that girl you like—does she know how you feel? Does she even like Pokémon battles? Or maybe she's more into—"

Before she could finish, Ash's eyes widened, and he stopped in his tracks. There, just ahead in the town square, stood a familiar figure. "Lillie?" he said aloud, his voice filled with surprise and a growing warmth. Without hesitation, he ran toward her.

Lillie turned at the sound of his voice, her face lighting up as she saw him. "Ash!" she said, a bright smile spreading across her face.

As he reached her, Ash asked, slightly out of breath, "What are you doing here? You weren't supposed to arrive until the day after tomorrow."

Lillie laughed softly. "I guess I was just too excited. I couldn't wait to see you."

Rayquaza let out a low rumble behind them, making Dawn hesitant to follow. Taking this as an opportunity for privacy, Ash gently gestured for Lillie to follow him. They walked together to a quieter spot near a small garden, the vibrant flowers swaying in the breeze.

Ash felt his heart pounding in his chest as he turned to her. He took a deep breath, his eyes meeting hers. "Lillie, there's something I've been wanting to tell you for a long time."

She tilted her head slightly, her emerald eyes filled with curiosity. "What is it, Ash?"

"I like you, Lillie," he said, the words leaving his mouth steady and sincere. "I mean, I really like you. Not just as a friend—I... I've liked you for a while now."

Lillie's cheeks flushed a soft pink as her eyes widened, but then her expression softened into a warm, radiant smile. "Ash, I feel the same way. I've been... well, I've been hoping you'd feel this way too."

Relief washed over Ash, and they both laughed softly, the moment filled with joy and a shared understanding. Tentatively, their hands found each other, and as they walked back to town, Lillie's head rested gently against Ash's shoulder, while his leaned toward hers.

--

Back in the town square, Dawn stood with her arms crossed, tapping her foot impatiently. As soon as Ash and Lillie came into view, she rushed toward them, her barrage of questions firing instantly. "Alright, you two! What's going on? How do you know each other? And why are you holding hands?!"

Ash and Lillie exchanged a glance, both suppressing a smile. Without saying a word, they continued walking, ignoring Dawn's curious pestering. Rayquaza let out a protective growl, keeping her at bay as they headed straight for Ash's house.

When they arrived, Delia greeted them at the door, her eyes immediately lighting up when she saw Lillie. "Oh my goodness! Is this the girl you were talking about, Ash?" she asked, practically bouncing with excitement.

"Yeah, Mom. This is Lillie," Ash said, introducing her with a proud smile.

Delia wasted no time, pulling Lillie into the house and bombarding her with questions. "So, where are you from? What's your favorite kind of Pokémon? Oh, do you like cooking? Ash loves to eat, you know!"

Lillie, though slightly overwhelmed, answered Delia's questions as best she could, her sweet and polite nature quickly winning Delia over. Meanwhile, Ash stood to the side, rubbing the back of his neck with an amused smile, grateful for how well Lillie was handling his mom's boundless energy.

After Lillie endured Delia's rapid-fire questions with grace and politeness, the lively atmosphere in the house finally began to settle. Delia, absolutely enamored with Lillie, beamed as she brought out a tray of tea and freshly baked cookies. "It's so lovely to finally meet the girl Ash has been talking about," she said, giving Ash a playful nudge that made his face turn beet red.

"Mom!" Ash groaned, tugging his cap down to hide his embarrassment. "Don't embarrass her—or me!"

Lillie laughed softly, her cheeks tinged pink but her expression glowing. "It's okay, Ash," she said, placing a reassuring hand on his arm. "Your mom's so kind. I'm glad she wanted to get to know me."

Delia clasped her hands together, her enthusiasm undeterred. "Well, Lillie, you're welcome here anytime. In fact, why don't you stay for dinner? I'd love to cook something special for you!"

Before Lillie could respond, Dawn walked into the room with her arms crossed, her expression a mix of curiosity and mild frustration. "Okay, so are you guys going to tell me what's going on, or am I just supposed to stand here guessing?"

Ash exchanged a glance with Lillie, who gave him a small, knowing smile. He sighed, realizing that Dawn wasn't going to drop the subject until she got some kind of answer. "Alright, Dawn," he said, standing up and facing her. "Lillie and I are... well, we're together now."

Dawn blinked, her eyes widening in surprise. "Wait. Like... together, together?"

"Yeah," Ash said, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "I like her, and she likes me. That's... pretty much it."

Dawn's expression softened, and she let out a small laugh. "Well, I guess that explains a lot," she said, her tone light. "Congrats, you two. You make a cute couple."

Lillie smiled shyly, and Ash felt a wave of relief wash over him. "Thanks, Dawn," he said, genuinely grateful for her support.

--

Later that evening, as the sun set over Pallet Town, the group gathered in the backyard of the Ketchum house. The sky was painted in shades of orange and pink, and a gentle breeze rustled through the trees. Pikachu and Greninja played together on the grass, while Rayquaza hovered in the distance, her majestic form glowing in the fading light.

Ash sat beside Lillie on the porch steps, his heart feeling lighter than it had in weeks. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the small, velvet box he had hidden earlier. "Lillie," he said, his voice soft but steady, "I got you something."

Her eyes widened as he opened the box to reveal the stunning pink diamond necklace. The sunlight caught the gem's surface, making it glimmer like the stars.

"Ash..." she whispered, her hands covering her mouth in astonishment. "It's beautiful."

He smiled, his cheeks tinged with pink. "I just... I wanted to give you something special. Something that shows how much you mean to me." He hesitated for a moment before adding, "Turn it over."

She gently lifted the necklace and read the engraving on the back. Her eyes glistened as she looked up at him, her smile radiant. "Thank you, Ash. It's perfect."

Ash grinned sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck. "I'm glad you like it."

As she leaned into him, her head resting gently on his shoulder, Delia peeked out from the kitchen window, her heart swelling with pride. She watched as her son, who had always been so focused on his Pokémon journeys, finally embraced another kind of adventure—the adventure of love.

--

The morning sun filtered through the curtains of the hotel room, painting the walls with a soft golden hue. Ash stirred awake, his eyes blinking open to the sound of Pikachu's gentle "Pika-pika" at his side. He glanced over and saw Lillie still peacefully asleep, her Alolan Vulpix, Snowy, nestled close to her. A small smile tugged at Ash's lips; he still couldn't quite believe they were on this journey together.

Quietly, he got up, letting Lillie rest a bit longer. He and Pikachu shared a quick breakfast downstairs in the hotel lobby before making plans for the day ahead. Dawn joined them soon after, her energetic personality in full swing as she discussed their first stop: the Pewter City Gym.

--

By midmorning, the trio made their way through the bustling streets of Pewter City. The familiar sight of the Pewter Gym brought back a flood of memories for Ash. He couldn't help but feel a pang of nostalgia as he stepped through the doors, memories of his early battles against Brock replaying in his mind.

Inside, the rocky terrain of the gym still dominated the battlefield, and at the far end stood Brock, his arms crossed and a warm smile on his face. "Ash! It's been a while!" he called out, his voice echoing through the arena.

"Brock!" Ash responded, running forward to greet his old friend. They exchanged a quick handshake before Brock's gaze shifted to Lillie and Dawn.

"And who might these two be?" Brock asked, raising an eyebrow.

"This is Lillie," Ash said, smiling proudly. "She's my... uh..." He hesitated for a moment, his cheeks reddening. "She's my girlfriend."

Lillie blushed but offered Brock a polite smile. "It's nice to meet you. Ash has told me a lot about you."

Brock grinned, his voice teasing. "Girlfriend, huh? Ash, you've really grown up!" He then turned to Dawn. "And you must be Dawn. Ash has mentioned you before too."

Dawn nodded with a grin. "Yep, it's me! The one and only." She shot Ash a playful look. "So, what's the plan here? Are we just catching up, or is someone battling?"

Lillie stepped forward, determination gleaming in her eyes. "I'd like to challenge you, Brock," she said. "If that's okay, of course."

Brock's eyes widened slightly in surprise but quickly shifted into a focused expression. "A challenger, huh? I didn't expect that, but I'm always up for a battle. Let's see what you've got!"

Ash and Dawn stepped to the side of the battlefield, both cheering Lillie on as she took her place at one end of the arena. Snowy hopped forward, her icy fur shimmering under the gym lights.

Brock selected his first Pokémon—a sturdy Geodude—ready to test Lillie's skills. The battle was about to begin, and Ash watched with a mix of excitement and pride, eager to see how far Lillie had come.

--

Lillie stood firm on her side of the battlefield, determination burning in her emerald eyes. Snowy pranced forward, her pristine white fur shimmering under the gym's lights. Across from her, Brock grinned confidently as his Geodude floated into position, its rocky body crackling with power.

"Alright, Lillie," Brock said, his tone friendly but challenging. "Show me what you've got!"

Ash and Dawn watched from the sidelines, Ash leaning slightly forward, silently cheering Lillie on. Pikachu let out an encouraging "Pika!" while Dawn clapped her hands together. "You've got this, Lillie!" Dawn called out.

"Okay, Snowy, let's start with Ice Beam!" Lillie commanded.

Snowy opened her mouth, releasing a shimmering beam of freezing energy that spiraled toward Geodude. Brock was quick to react. "Geodude, dodge it and use Rock Throw!"

Geodude deftly maneuvered out of the way, picking up speed as it hurled chunks of rock toward Snowy. The projectiles scattered across the arena, and while Snowy managed to evade most of them, one large piece struck her side, making her stumble slightly.

"You okay, Snowy?" Lillie asked, concern flickering across her face.

Snowy let out a determined bark, shaking off the hit and standing tall once more. Lillie smiled, her resolve strengthening. "Great! Let's try Freeze-Dry!"

Snowy leapt into the air, a frosty aura surrounding her as she unleashed a concentrated blast of icy energy. The attack struck Geodude head-on, encasing part of its rocky surface in frost. Brock's eyes narrowed. "Not bad," he admitted. "But let's see how you handle this. Geodude, use Rollout!"

Geodude tucked its limbs in and began spinning rapidly, gaining momentum as it charged toward Snowy. The ground trembled with each rotation, and the attack struck Snowy hard, sending her skidding across the battlefield. Lillie gasped, her hands clenching into fists.

"Snowy, hang in there!" she called out.

Snowy struggled to her feet, her icy breath visible as she panted. Lillie's heart raced, but she refused to back down. She glanced at the Z-Crystal bracelet on her wrist, the one gifted to her by Tapu Lele back in Alola. It glimmered faintly, as if waiting for her command.

"Snowy, use Aurora Veil!" Lillie shouted.

The arena filled with a shimmering veil of light, casting an ethereal glow over Snowy as her defenses strengthened. Geodude's next Rollout attack collided with the Aurora Veil, but the impact was lessened, giving Snowy just enough time to recover.

"Alright, Geodude, finish it with Rock Slide!" Brock commanded, his voice echoing through the gym.

Geodude raised its arms, summoning a cascade of boulders that rained down toward Snowy. Lillie's mind raced. She knew Snowy wouldn't be able to dodge in time or withstand the attack without something big—something decisive.

"Now's our chance," she whispered, her eyes locking with Snowy's. "Let's do this together!"

Lillie raised her arm, the Z-Crystal on her bracelet glowing brilliantly as she performed the synchronized Z-Pose. Energy flowed between her and Snowy, their bond igniting with dazzling intensity.

"Snowy, let's end this with *Subzero Slammer!*" Lillie cried, her voice steady and filled with confidence.

The Z-Crystal's power erupted, enveloping Snowy in a swirling vortex of icy energy. Snowy howled as the energy condensed into an enormous, sparkling glacier that she launched toward Geodude with incredible force. The entire gym seemed to freeze in time as the glacier collided with Geodude, the sheer power of the Z-Move leaving no room for resistance.

When the icy explosion cleared, Geodude lay fainted on the ground, its body covered in frost. Brock's expression shifted from surprise to admiration as he returned Geodude to its PokéBall.

"That was incredible, Lillie," Brock said, stepping forward with a respectful nod. "You and Snowy make an amazing team. I can see just how much effort you've put into training. You've earned my respect—and this."

He handed Lillie a Pewter Gym Badge, its rocky surface gleaming in the light. Lillie's face lit up with joy as she accepted it, holding it tightly in her hands. "Thank you, Brock," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. "This means so much to me."

Ash cheered from the sidelines, pumping his fist in the air. "Way to go, Lillie! I knew you could do it!"

Dawn clapped enthusiastically, her earlier curiosity giving way to genuine pride. "That was amazing, Lillie! You and Snowy were incredible out there."

As Snowy returned to Lillie's side, Ash stepped closer, his smile wide. "You were awesome, Lillie. That Z-Move was something else."

Lillie blushed, glancing at Snowy with a warm smile. "It's all thanks to Snowy—and to you, Ash. You've taught me so much about battling and believing in myself."

Rayquaza, hovering just outside the gym, watched the scene unfold with quiet approval, feeling a sense of camaraderie and warmth from the group. Even as the legendary dragon carried her own solitude, she couldn't help but feel inspired by the bonds between these trainers and their Pokémon.

--

With Lillie's first gym victory under her belt, the trio prepared to set off for their next destination: Cerulean City, home of Misty. But for now, they celebrated the hard-earned victory, their journey filled with excitement and endless possibilities.

--

The group was traveling along the winding path toward Cerulean City, the excitement for Lillie's upcoming battle with Misty and Ash's reunion with his old friend fueling their steps. The sun shone brightly, the air buzzing with the sounds of wild Pokémon. Pikachu perched happily on Ash's shoulder, Snowy trotting alongside Lillie, and Dawn chatting animatedly about what they could expect in Cerulean City.

But as they approached the edge of a dense forest, an eerie stillness fell over the surroundings. The wind seemed to shift, carrying a chill that made the hair on the back of their necks stand up.

"What's going on?" Lillie asked nervously, her grip tightening on Snowy's PokéBall.

Before anyone could answer, the ground trembled slightly, and an ominous shadow began to form in the sky above them. A low, guttural roar echoed through the forest, shaking the very air. Then, emerging from a swirling portal between dimensions, Giratina appeared—its massive, serpentine form shimmering with otherworldly energy. The Pokémon's six red eyes bore down on the group, its presence radiating an overwhelming power.

"Giratina?!" Dawn gasped, her voice trembling with both awe and fear.

Ash's heart raced as he stared up at the Renegade Pokémon. He knew how rare—no, impossible—it was to encounter Giratina, let alone have the chance to catch it. But despite the immense pressure of its gaze, Ash's determination flared like a wildfire.

"This is my chance," he muttered, reaching into his bag. He pulled out one of his last remaining Master Balls, its unique design glowing faintly in his hand.

"Ash, wait!" Lillie exclaimed, her voice laced with concern. "You can't be serious!"

But Ash was already in motion, his focus locked on Giratina. With a firm grip, he hurled the Master Ball with precision. Time seemed to slow as the ball soared through the air, striking Giratina in the center of its chest. The sphere opened, enveloping the Legendary Pokémon in a brilliant light. The ball landed on the ground, shaking violently as it attempted to contain the incredible power within. After what felt like an eternity, the ball clicked shut.

The forest fell silent. Ash stepped forward cautiously, picking up the Master Ball with both hands. His breath caught in his throat as he realized what he'd just done. "I... I caught Giratina," he whispered, more to himself than anyone else.

Dawn and Lillie stood frozen, their jaws practically on the ground. "You—you just caught Giratina!" Dawn exclaimed, her voice breaking the stunned silence. "The actual Giratina! Do you even realize what you've done?!"

Lillie nodded, her expression one of awe and disbelief. "Ash, this... this is incredible. To think that you've captured the Pokémon that controls dimensions!"

Ash, still processing the weight of his accomplishment, managed a small grin. "Yeah, I guess it is pretty cool," he said, trying to downplay the sheer magnitude of the moment.

He reached into his bag again, pulling out his collection of Z-Crystals. Among them, the Dragonium Z sparkled with a brilliant light. Placing it into the Z-Ring on his wrist, he released Giratina from its PokéBall. The massive Legendary Pokémon emerged, its form towering over the group. Despite its intimidating presence, there was a calmness in Giratina's demeanor, as if it recognized the bond it now shared with Ash.

Dawn and Lillie couldn't tear their eyes away from the sight. "How is this even possible?" Dawn whispered, still trying to comprehend the magnitude of what had just happened.

Lillie, her voice soft, added, "This must be... your fourth Legendary or Mythical Pokémon, right, Ash? First Rayquaza, then Greninja, and now Giratina... I—" She paused, struggling to find the words.

Ash looked up at Giratina, his grin growing wider. "I think we're gonna make a great team," he said confidently. He glanced at Pikachu, Snowy, and the others, who all seemed to be in awe of the Renegade Pokémon.

Nearby, Rayquaza watched the scene unfold with a hint of curiosity. Even she couldn't help but feel a sense of amazement at the addition of another Legendary Pokémon to Ash's party. Yet, as she observed Pikachu and Snowy's camaraderie, she also felt a twinge of longing for the kind of bond they all shared.

Noticing Rayquaza's somber expression, Pikachu and Snowy approached her, their playful energy working to lift her spirits. Rayquaza rumbled softly, the sound more gentle than her usual roars, as if acknowledging their kindness. The moment of connection brought a faint smile to Ash's face.

"Alright, team," Ash said, turning back to the path ahead. "Let's get to Cerulean City. We've got a lot to look forward to."

As they continued their journey, the weight of Ash's new companion—a Pokémon of legend and immense power—lingered in their minds. Dawn and Lillie walked alongside him, their excitement tempered with awe. The road to Cerulean City stretched out before them, promising both challenges and reunions as they moved forward together.

--

As Ash, Lillie, and Dawn walked into the Cerulean City Gym, nostalgia hit Ash like a tidal wave. The gym was just as he remembered—spacious, with the iconic pool-lined battlefield stretching out before him. The sound of splashing water filled the air as Misty appeared from the far side of the gym. Her face lit up the moment she saw Ash.

"Ash!" Misty called out, running toward him with open arms before enveloping him in a warm hug. "It's been forever!"

Ash grinned awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "Hey, Misty! It's good to see you again."

Misty pulled back, her eyes darting between Lillie and Dawn. A mischievous grin spread across her face. "So, Ash... two girlfriends now, huh? Didn't know you were such a heartbreaker."

Ash turned crimson, waving his hands defensively. "No, no! It's not like that! Lillie is the one and only for me," he said firmly, glancing at Lillie, who blushed but smiled at his declaration.

Misty raised an eyebrow, her teasing grin still in place. "Alright, I'll let it slide this time." Then, her expression turned competitive. "But since you're here, how about we have a battle before your girlfriend challenges me? For old times' sake."

Ash's confidence surged, and he nodded. "You're on!"

--

As the two trainers took their places on either end of the battlefield, Misty called out, "Don't think this is gonna be easy, Ash. I've been training hard since the last time we battled."

Ash smirked, gripping a PokéBall in his hand. "Same here, Misty. Let's do this!"

But instead of a regular PokéBall, Ash pulled out a Dusk Ball, its dark, ominous design standing out. He threw it with precision, releasing a Pokémon that caused the entire gym to fall silent. Dawn and Misty stared, confused, while Lillie gasped, her hands flying to her mouth.

From the Dusk Ball emerged Dawn Wings Necrozma, its ethereal form glowing with otherworldly light. The combination of Lunala's majestic wings and Necrozma's dark, crystalline structure made for an awe-inspiring sight.

"W-what is that?!" Dawn exclaimed, her eyes wide with shock.

Misty looked equally stunned. "I've never seen a Pokémon like that before," she said, her voice tinged with both curiosity and nervousness.

Lillie, however, recognized the legendary Pokémon immediately. "Ash... how do you have Dawn Wings Necrozma?" she whispered, though her question would have to wait.

Ash focused on the battle, taking out his collection of Z-Crystals. He selected the Poisonium Z and slotted it into his Z-Ring. Necrozma hovered silently, its presence commanding the battlefield.

Misty released her first Pokémon—a confident Starmie. The battle began with a flurry of moves, Necrozma's sheer power making it an easy match for Starmie and Misty's follow-up choices. However, when Misty called out her trump card—her Mega Evolved Gyarados—the atmosphere shifted.

The sight of the massive, ferocious Gyarados brought a bead of sweat to Ash's brow. Memories of how this very Pokémon had once bested most of his team flooded his mind. He clenched his fists, determination flaring in his eyes.

"Necrozma, it's time!" Ash called out. He performed the synchronized movements of the Z-Pose, the Poisonium Z glowing brightly as its power coursed through him and Necrozma. The gym seemed to tremble as Ash shouted, "Acid Rain!"

Necrozma unleashed a devastating attack, a storm of toxic energy raining down on the battlefield. The venomous power overwhelmed Gyarados, even in its Mega Evolved state. Despite its strength and resilience, Misty's Gyarados couldn't withstand the overwhelming might of the Z-Move.

When the storm cleared, Gyarados lay fainted, and Misty sighed, recalling her Pokémon with a bittersweet smile. "I've got to hand it to you, Ash. You've really gotten stronger—way stronger. That was an incredible battle."

Ash smiled, walking across the battlefield to shake her hand. "Thanks, Misty. You put up an amazing fight, as always."

Lillie watched from the sidelines, pride for Ash shining in her eyes, though her curiosity about Necrozma grew stronger. She resolved to ask him about it before her own battle with Misty began.

--

--

As the dust settled from Ash's intense battle with Misty, Lillie wasted no time. She marched up to Ash, her arms crossed and a determined glint in her eyes. "Ash Ketchum," she began, her tone firmer than usual. "You have some serious explaining to do."

Ash blinked, caught off guard. "Explaining? About what?"

Lillie pointed toward Dawn Wings Necrozma, who had returned to its PokéBall but still lingered in her mind. "About how you managed to have *that* Pokémon. Necrozma is one of the most powerful and mysterious Pokémon in Alola. How did you even—"

Before she could finish her question, Misty stepped forward, now holding her fully revived PokéBalls. "Alright, you two lovebirds," she interrupted, her smile playful yet challenging. "Lillie, I hope you're ready, because I've got my Pokémon healed and raring to go."

Ash saw his chance to redirect the conversation and jumped in quickly. "Lillie, you've got the advantage! Ice-types are super effective against Misty's water-types. Snowy will be amazing out there!"

Lillie sighed, turning her gaze back to Ash, her stern look unwavering. "Don't think this gets you out of questioning, mister," she said firmly, jabbing a finger toward his chest. "We're going to talk about this *after* the battle."

Ash chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his head. "Alright, alright! Go show Misty what you've got, Lillie."

Lillie nodded, her focus shifting to the gym battlefield. Her determination grew, fueled by a mix of excitement and the lingering curiosity about Ash's mysterious Pokémon. As she stepped into position to face Misty, Snowy trotted confidently to her side, ready for the challenge ahead.

Misty grinned, her competitive spirit fully ignited. "Let's see if you're as good as Ash says you are, Lillie!"

From the sidelines, Ash couldn't help but feel a mix of pride and nerves as the battle was about to begin. But deep down, he also braced himself for the interrogation that awaited him once the battle was over.

--

The battle was intense from start to finish, with Lillie demonstrating her growing confidence and skill as a trainer. Snowy dominated the first part of the match, swiftly taking down Misty's Starmie, Goldeen, and Seaking with graceful precision and a well-timed series of Ice Beam and Freeze-Dry moves. Ash and Dawn cheered her on from the sidelines, their encouragement adding to her determination.

But when Misty called out her trump card—her Gyarados—the atmosphere in the gym shifted. The sheer presence of the massive, fearsome Pokémon made Lillie falter for a moment, but she quickly steeled herself, determined to give it her all.

"Snowy, we've got this!" she called out, her voice filled with resolve.

The battle raged on, with Snowy landing a few strong hits. However, Misty's Gyarados proved its power once again, unleashing a devastating Hydro Pump. The attack struck Snowy head-on, knocking the Alolan Vulpix out of the match. Lillie gasped, her heart sinking as she recalled Snowy to her PokéBall.

Ash called out from the sidelines. "Don't give up, Lillie! You've still got this!"

Taking a deep breath, Lillie reached for her second Pokémon. With a firm toss of her PokéBall, her Duskull emerged onto the battlefield, its ghostly form hovering eerily above the ground. Gyarados roared, its presence imposing, but Duskull remained unfazed, its single eye glowing with determination.

"Duskull, use Hex!" Lillie commanded.

Duskull's attack struck Gyarados with a burst of energy, its strength amplified by the status effects left behind from Snowy's earlier moves. Gyarados roared in pain, thrashing about as it struggled to regain control. Misty called for another Hydro Pump, but Duskull swiftly dodged the attack, moving like a shadow across the battlefield.

"One more time, Duskull! Hex!" Lillie cried.

With precision and power, Duskull unleashed a final Hex, striking Gyarados directly. The mighty Pokémon let out one last roar before collapsing to the ground, fainted. The gym fell silent for a moment before the referee raised his hand.

"Gyarados is unable to battle. Lillie wins!"

Lillie let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding, her face lighting up with joy. She ran onto the battlefield, scooping Duskull into her arms. "You were amazing, Duskull! I'm so proud of you!" she said, her voice brimming with emotion.

Misty walked over, recalling Gyarados to its PokéBall and smiling warmly at Lillie. "That was an incredible battle," she said, handing Lillie the Cascade Badge. "You've earned this. Your strategy was impressive, and your Duskull is a force to be reckoned with."

Lillie accepted the badge with a smile, holding it close as she turned to Ash and Dawn. "I did it!" she said, her voice filled with excitement.

Ash grinned, giving her a thumbs-up. "I knew you could do it!"

Dawn clapped enthusiastically. "That was awesome, Lillie! You've really got some serious skills."

As they left the gym together, Lillie felt a surge of pride and confidence. But even as she celebrated her victory, she hadn't forgotten her earlier questions for Ash—and she was determined to get some answers.

--

As the trio left the Cerulean Gym, the air was filled with excitement and pride from Lillie's hard-fought victory. However, as they made their way through the bustling streets of Cerulean City, Lillie's curiosity became too much to hold back. She quickened her pace, walking alongside Ash with a serious look in her eyes.

"Alright, Ash," she began, her tone firm but not harsh. "I think it's time you told me the truth. How do you have Dawn Wings Necrozma?"

Ash blinked, surprised by the suddenness of her question. "Oh, uh, well..." he started, scratching the back of his head. "I guess you could say it's kind of a long story."

Lillie folded her arms and raised an eyebrow. "I've got time," she said, her voice steady and resolute. "Necrozma is one of the most powerful and mysterious Pokémon in Alola. The fact that you have it—especially in its Dawn Wings form—isn't something I can just ignore."

Dawn, walking slightly behind them, perked up at Lillie's questioning. "Yeah, Ash," she added, stepping forward with a curious grin. "I'm kind of curious too. What's the story there?"

Ash sighed, realizing there was no way to avoid the conversation now. "Alright, alright," he said, slowing his pace as they found a quieter spot near a fountain. He turned to face Lillie and Dawn, his expression growing more serious.

"It happened a while back," Ash began, his voice calm and reflective. "When I was traveling through Alola, I came across Necrozma during the events with the Ultra Beasts. You know, when Necrozma fused with Solgaleo and Lunala to regain its light." He paused, glancing at Lillie, who nodded, remembering those events vividly.

"After everything settled, I guess Necrozma and I formed some kind of connection," Ash continued. "It was almost like it trusted me after what we'd been through together. I never thought I'd actually get the chance to work with it again, but one day, while I was training, Necrozma appeared out of nowhere. It was in its Dawn Wings form, and it seemed... calmer. Like it wanted to join me on my journey."

Lillie's eyes softened as she listened, her curiosity giving way to understanding. "So, it chose you," she said quietly. "That's... amazing."

Dawn tilted her head, still trying to piece it together. "Wait, so it just showed up and decided to join you? That's so... Ash," she said, laughing lightly. "I mean, of course something like this would happen to you."

Ash smiled, his confidence returning. "Yeah, I guess I've been pretty lucky," he admitted. "But it's not just about luck. It's about trust and the bonds we form with Pokémon."

Lillie nodded, her stern expression giving way to a warm smile. "I understand now, Ash. Thank you for telling me. Necrozma is an incredible Pokémon, and it's clear that you've earned its trust. Just... next time, maybe don't keep something like that a secret for so long, okay?"

Ash laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "Got it. No more secrets."

With the air cleared and their curiosity satisfied, the trio continued their walk, the bond between them growing stronger with each step. And though Ash was relieved to have explained himself, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in the trust Necrozma had placed in him.

As the trio continued walking through Cerulean City, the sun began to dip lower in the sky, casting a warm golden glow over the bustling streets. The earlier tension from Lillie's questions had dissolved, leaving a sense of camaraderie and understanding between the group. Pikachu playfully hopped from Ash's shoulder to Lillie's, earning a giggle from her as she scratched behind its ears.

Dawn smirked, still amused by the earlier exchange. "You know, Ash," she teased, "you've got quite the lineup of Pokémon now. First Rayquaza, then Giratina, and now you're pulling out something like Necrozma? You're really not messing around these days."

Ash chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, well, it's not just about having strong Pokémon," he said. "It's about the bonds you share with them. You've got to earn their trust."

Lillie smiled, her earlier curiosity replaced with admiration. "I think you've done an incredible job, Ash," she said sincerely. "It's no wonder so many amazing Pokémon want to join you. They can see the kind of person you are."

Ash's cheeks turned a light shade of pink at the compliment. "Thanks, Lillie. That means a lot," he said, his tone genuine.

As they walked through the city, they passed by a small park where children played with their Pokémon, the joyful laughter and chatter filling the air. Ash glanced at the scene, memories of his own early days of training flashing through his mind. It felt like a lifetime ago, and yet, in some ways, it felt like just yesterday.

The group eventually found a quiet spot near a fountain, deciding to take a break. Lillie and Dawn sat on the edge of the fountain, while Ash leaned back against a nearby tree, Pikachu happily perched on his lap. The peaceful atmosphere gave them a moment to reflect on their journey so far and the challenges that lay ahead.

"So, Misty said she'd be happy to see us again tomorrow," Ash said, breaking the silence. "It'll be nice to catch up some more after everything that's happened."

Lillie nodded, her hand gently stroking Snowy, who rested at her feet. "And I'll get to show her my gym badge," she said with a proud smile, holding up the Cascade Badge she had just earned.

Dawn grinned. "You've been on a roll, Lillie. Pewter Gym, Cerulean Gym... what's next? You thinking of taking on the whole Kanto Gym Circuit?"

Lillie laughed softly, shaking her head. "Maybe one day, but for now, I'm just taking it one step at a time."

Ash glanced at her, his expression thoughtful. "That's the best way to do it," he said. "Each battle teaches you something new, and every experience makes you stronger. You've got what it takes, Lillie—I know it."

She blushed slightly, but her smile didn't falter. "Thanks, Ash. Coming from you, that means a lot."

As night fell and the stars began to dot the sky, the trio made their way back to their hotel, ready to rest up for the next day's visit to Misty. For Ash, it wasn't just about revisiting old friends—it was about supporting Lillie as she continued to grow as a trainer. And for Lillie, it was a chance to take another step forward on her journey, with Ash and Dawn by her side.

--

After a restful night at the hotel, Ash, Lillie, and Dawn packed their belongings and prepared to leave Cerulean City. The morning air was crisp, and the trio was filled with excitement for the journey ahead. With their sights set on Johto, they hoped to uncover new adventures and opportunities—especially for Lillie to expand her team.

As usual, Ash and Lillie shared a room, and Pikachu had cozily snoozed at the foot of their bed, while Snowy nestled close to Lillie. Dawn, in her own room, had made the most of her solo space, waking up refreshed and ready to take on the day. They met downstairs in the hotel's lobby, where Ash grabbed a quick breakfast, and Pikachu snagged a few bites from his plate.

The trio set off with a clear purpose. Lillie was particularly eager about Johto's diverse range of Pokémon, and Ash's stories of his travels there had only fueled her excitement. The group boarded a high-speed train that connected Kanto and Johto, the rhythmic hum of the ride filling their ears as they discussed plans.

"So, Lillie," Dawn asked, leaning forward in her seat, "what kind of Pokémon are you hoping to find in Johto? Something cute like Snowy? Or maybe something totally unexpected?"

Lillie smiled, her eyes lighting up. "I'm not sure yet, but I'd like to meet Pokémon that can help me grow as a trainer. Johto has so many unique Pokémon, and I want to challenge myself to bond with different kinds."

Ash leaned back, grinning. "You're gonna love it, Lillie. Johto has everything—from legendary Pokémon like Ho-Oh and Lugia to cool spots like the Ruins of Alph. You'll have plenty of chances to find the perfect new teammates."

Pikachu chimed in with an enthusiastic "Pika-pi!" while Snowy yipped softly at Lillie's feet, as if showing her support.

The train ride felt like it passed in the blink of an eye, and soon enough, the trio found themselves stepping onto Johto soil. The region's vibrant landscapes stretched out before them, with rolling green hills, towering trees, and an atmosphere alive with the songs of wild Pokémon. The adventure was calling, and for Lillie, it was a chance to discover her own path as a trainer—with Ash and Dawn by her side every step of the way.

--

The fresh, vibrant air of Johto filled their lungs as Ash, Lillie, and Dawn stepped onto the region's soil, the new leg of their adventure beginning. The scenery was different from Kanto: wide open fields gave way to groves of ancient trees, the calls of Pokémon resonating across the land. Lillie's eyes sparkled as she took in the beauty around her, the excitement of discovering new Pokémon and experiences almost overwhelming.

"So, where to first?" Dawn asked, looking to Ash, the unofficial leader of the group.

Ash adjusted his hat and grinned. "Well, there's Cherrygrove City not too far from here. It's a good place to stop and maybe meet some new Pokémon. Plus, they've got this beautiful coastline."

Lillie looked down at Snowy, who wagged her tail excitedly. "Cherrygrove City sounds perfect," she said. "I can't wait to see the Pokémon here. I've read about Johto in books, but it's so different experiencing it in person."

As they walked along the route leading to Cherrygrove, Ash kept an eye out for wild Pokémon, his thoughts on Lillie's team. "You've got Snowy and Duskull already," he said, glancing at Lillie. "Are you looking for a specific type of Pokémon, or just seeing who you connect with?"

Lillie thought for a moment, her hand brushing Snowy's soft fur. "I think I'd like to add more diversity to my team," she said. "Maybe a grass-type or an electric-type. But I really want to make sure it's a Pokémon that wants to travel with me."

Dawn nodded in agreement. "That's a great way to look at it, Lillie. Some of the best Pokémon bonds are the ones that happen naturally."

Their path took them through a stretch of tall grass, where wild Pokémon darted in and out of sight. Suddenly, a rustling sound caught their attention, and Pikachu's ears perked up. A moment later, a Skiploom floated into view, its small body bouncing lightly on the breeze.

"Look, Lillie!" Ash said, pointing to the Skiploom. "It's a grass-type. Maybe this is your chance!"

Lillie's eyes lit up as she reached for a PokéBall. "Alright, Snowy, let's try!" she said, stepping forward.

Snowy leapt into action, her icy fur shimmering in the sunlight. The battle that followed was short but sweet, with Snowy using a well-placed Ice Beam to weaken the Skiploom. Lillie threw her PokéBall with determination, watching as it enveloped the Skiploom in a flash of light. The ball wobbled once, twice, and then clicked.

"I did it!" Lillie exclaimed, holding the PokéBall in her hands. "Welcome to the team, Skiploom!"

Ash and Dawn cheered for her, and Pikachu let out a happy "Pika-pi!" as Snowy trotted over to nuzzle Lillie's leg. Lillie crouched down to pet Snowy, her heart swelling with pride. She looked up at Ash, who gave her a thumbs-up.

"You're really building a great team, Lillie," he said. "I can't wait to see what you and Skiploom can do together."

With renewed energy, the group continued toward Cherrygrove City, the excitement of new friendships and challenges driving them forward. For Lillie, this journey was becoming more than just a chance to grow as a trainer—it was a chance to discover her own strength and confidence, surrounded by friends who believed in her every step of the way.

--

--

The group was making good progress on the path to Cherrygrove City, with the Johto scenery surrounding them in a picturesque display of rolling hills and patches of tall grass. The occasional wild Pokémon darting across their path added to the excitement, especially for Lillie, who was eagerly soaking in every moment of the journey. Snowy walked beside her, wagging her tail happily.

As they rounded a bend in the trail, Pikachu's ears perked up at the sound of rustling nearby. The group paused, and within moments, two Pokémon emerged from the underbrush—a powerful-looking Garchomp and a determined Machop. Both Pokémon appeared ready for a challenge, their postures bold and their eyes locked on the group.

"Whoa, a Garchomp and a Machop!" Dawn said, her voice filled with surprise. "That's quite a duo to run into out here."

Ash's expression brightened, though he quickly shook his head. "I've already got both of them on my team," he said, glancing at Lillie. "But this could be your chance, Lillie! They'd be awesome additions to your team."

Lillie hesitated for a moment, her eyes darting between the two Pokémon. "You really think I can do it, Ash?" she asked, uncertainty flickering in her voice.

Ash gave her an encouraging grin, his tone firm yet supportive. "I know you can. You've got this, Lillie. Just trust your instincts and your Pokémon."

Taking a deep breath, Lillie stepped forward, Snowy at her side. "Alright, let's do this!" she said, her voice steady as she locked eyes with Garchomp. "Snowy, start with Ice Beam!"

Snowy leapt into action, releasing a shimmering beam of icy energy that struck Garchomp squarely, forcing the Dragon/Ground-type to stumble back. However, Garchomp was quick to recover, countering with Dragon Claw. Snowy dodged gracefully, her movements swift and precise.

The battle continued, with Snowy landing a series of well-placed Freeze-Dry and Powder Snow attacks. Eventually, Garchomp began to falter, its energy draining. Lillie seized the opportunity, throwing a PokéBall with precision. The ball wobbled on the ground as it captured Garchomp, the anticipation building with every shake. Finally, it clicked.

"I did it!" Lillie exclaimed, holding the PokéBall tightly in her hands. "I caught Garchomp!"

"That's awesome, Lillie!" Ash said, his grin widening. "You were amazing out there."

Before she could celebrate for long, Machop stepped forward, ready for its own challenge. Lillie nodded, recalling Snowy and reaching for another PokéBall. "Duskull, it's your turn!" she called out, releasing her ghostly companion onto the battlefield.

The battle against Machop was a bit more drawn-out, with the Fighting-type landing several powerful hits despite Duskull's efforts to evade. However, Lillie kept her focus, her determination unwavering. With Ash cheering her on from the sidelines, she called for a decisive Hex attack, and Duskull delivered, leaving Machop weakened but still determined.

"You can do it, Lillie!" Ash shouted. "Now's your chance!"

Lillie nodded, throwing another PokéBall with confidence. The capture process felt even more intense this time, but after a few tense moments, the ball clicked shut.

"I caught Machop too!" Lillie exclaimed, her excitement bubbling over as she picked up the PokéBall.

Ash and Dawn ran over to congratulate her, their smiles wide. "You're really building an incredible team, Lillie," Dawn said. "Garchomp and Machop are both amazing Pokémon."

Ash nodded in agreement, placing a hand on her shoulder. "You did great, Lillie. Those battles weren't easy, but you stayed calm and trusted your Pokémon. That's what being a trainer is all about."

Lillie looked down at her new PokéBalls, a mix of pride and gratitude filling her heart. She glanced at Ash, her smile soft but radiant. "Thank you, Ash. I couldn't have done it without your support."

With her team growing stronger and her confidence continuing to build, Lillie felt more ready than ever to take on whatever challenges awaited them in Johto. As they continued down the path to Cherrygrove City, the bond between the group—and their Pokémon—grew deeper with every step.

--

The atmosphere changed suddenly as Ash, Lillie, and Dawn continued their journey toward Cherrygrove City. The world around them stilled—leaves that were rustling in the wind froze in midair, and the soft hum of nature's symphony came to an abrupt stop. Both Ash and Lillie felt their breath catch as they realized something extraordinary was happening.

Ash, always perceptive when it came to Pokémon, narrowed his eyes as he scanned the surroundings. "Time's stopped," he murmured, gripping the brim of his cap. "This has to be Dialga… or maybe something even more powerful."

Before Lillie could respond, a radiant figure descended from a ripple in the sky, glowing with an almost divine light. It was Arceus—the creator of the Pokémon universe—but she was in a dire state. Her graceful, godly figure was marred by wounds, and her movements were sluggish.

Lillie gasped, her protective instincts immediately kicking in. "Arceus!" she cried out, rushing forward with Snowy close at her heels.

Ash wasn't far behind, already pulling a Pokémon medkit from his bag. Together, he and Lillie worked quickly, tending to the injuries of the Pokémon they both instinctively felt awe and compassion for. Ash applied healing ointments with practiced precision, while Lillie whispered soothing words, her gentle touch helping to calm the weary deity.

Arceus, her golden eyes weary but watchful, spoke telepathically. *Why do you help me, mortal trainers? What do you seek from one such as I?*

Ash looked up, his expression steadfast. "Because no Pokémon deserves to suffer," he said simply. "And because it's the right thing to do."

Lillie nodded in agreement, her emerald eyes unwavering. "You've given so much to this world. Helping you is the least we can do."

Arceus seemed to study them both for a long moment, her wounds gradually healing thanks to their efforts. Finally, she spoke again. *Ash Ketchum… you are a trainer unlike any I have encountered. You bear the bonds of many Legendaries. Tell me, why do such powerful beings choose to stand by your side?*

Ash scratched the back of his neck, a bit taken aback by the question. "I don't know," he admitted honestly. "I just… I try to do my best for them. I've always believed in the bond between trainers and Pokémon. Maybe they saw something in me that I still haven't figured out myself."

Arceus inclined her head slightly, her golden mane glimmering as if in approval. *A humble answer. And you, Lillie… I sense purity and courage within you, though you may not yet see it yourself.*

Lillie blushed faintly but stood tall. "I just want to grow, to be someone worthy of the Pokémon who put their trust in me," she said quietly.

Arceus closed her eyes briefly, as if contemplating their words. When she opened them again, her decision was clear. *Lillie… I believe it is with you that I shall journey. This world still needs balance, and I believe you hold the heart to see it through.*

Ash, moved by Arceus's words, pulled a Master Ball from his bag and handed it to Lillie. "Here," he said with a smile. "If Arceus wants to join you, this will make it official."

Lillie hesitated for a brief moment, overwhelmed by the honor and responsibility, but Arceus's reassuring gaze gave her the confidence she needed. She threw the Master Ball, watching as it enveloped Arceus in a brilliant light before quickly clicking shut. However, as soon as the capture was complete, the ball glowed softly and opened again, releasing Arceus.

I will not remain confined* Arceus said, her voice calm yet resolute. *I shall stay beside you, visible only when I choose, for the journey ahead will require more than mere strength.*

With that, Arceus shimmered and became invisible, her divine presence lingering faintly beside Lillie. Time resumed its natural flow, and Dawn, oblivious to what had just transpired, turned to the pair. "Hey, are you two okay? You looked zoned out for a second."

Ash and Lillie exchanged a glance, a quiet understanding passing between them. "Yeah, we're fine," Ash said with a small grin, adjusting his hat. "Let's keep moving. Cherrygrove City's not far now."

Lillie placed a hand over her heart, where she could still feel Arceus's presence. The weight of the journey ahead felt both daunting and exhilarating, but with Ash and Dawn by her side—and now Arceus watching over her—she knew she was ready for whatever challenges awaited.

--

--

The forest trail was peaceful as Ash, Lillie, and Dawn made their way toward Cherrygrove City. Sunlight filtered through the trees, creating a serene ambiance that was soon replaced with awe as Ash took a moment to release his collection of legendary Pokémon.

One by one, Dawn Wings Necrozma, Lugia, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Giratina emerged in brilliant flashes of light, their towering forms filling the clearing. Their sheer presence transformed the peaceful woods into a mythical tableau that felt otherworldly.

Dawn stood frozen, her jaw nearly on the ground. "Ash," she finally managed, her voice full of disbelief, "just how many legendary Pokémon do you *have*?"

Ash chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "A few," he admitted, grinning at the awe on her face.

Her gaze locked on Lugia and the three legendary birds. "Okay, I can kind of guess about them," she said, pointing to Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. "But how did you even get *Lugia*? And what's *that* one?" she added, gesturing toward Dawn Wings Necrozma, clearly unfamiliar with its form.

Ash nodded, ready to explain. "Lugia came to me during a big storm at sea. It showed up to calm everything down, and we ended up working together to get through it. After that, Lugia decided to stick around."

He motioned to Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. "The legendary birds were battling near an old temple. I managed to calm them down, and I guess they trusted me enough to join my team after that."

Dawn frowned slightly, glancing again at Necrozma, Solgaleo and Lunala. "And what about those ones? Is it from Alola? I know some Pokémon from there, but I've never seen anything like that before."

Ash hesitated for a moment, glancing at Lillie, who stayed quiet, letting Ash explain. "Yeah, that's Dawn Wings Necrozma, *Gestures to necrozma* " he said, his tone calm but thoughtful. "It's from Alola, and it's... well, it's really powerful. Let's just say we've been through a lot together."

Ash Gestures At Solgaleo and Lunala* I Met those when we stopped necrozma from Achieving It's Ultimate form. Because that would have ended the world. Dawn being speechless decides not to question ash on anything ever again.

A shadow passed overhead, and a familiar sound caught Ash's attention. Glancing up, he grinned as Rayquaza descended from the skies, her emerald form shimmering in the sunlight as she gracefully landed beside them.

"Rayquaza!" Ash called out, his voice filled with joy. Rayquaza glanced at the other legendary Pokémon present, her sharp eyes briefly scanning the group before settling on Ash and Lillie.

Before anyone could say more, a brilliant golden light filled the clearing, and Arceus materialized, her form radiating a divine aura. Her presence was commanding yet peaceful, her voice resonating telepathically in their minds. *Ash, Lillie, your bonds with Pokémon—legendary and otherwise—are unlike anything I have ever witnessed. As a gift, I shall grant your Pokémon the ability to speak, so that your connections may grow even stronger.*

A wave of energy rippled through the area, touching each Pokémon present. Many of them paused, as though absorbing the unfamiliar sensation of understanding human speech. They exchanged glances but remained silent, seemingly unsure how to test their newfound ability.

Except Rayquaza.

The mighty dragon tilted her head, her glowing eyes narrowing slightly. She opened her mouth, and a deep, rumbling sound emerged. "Hu...man... can... hear me?" Rayquaza's voice was slow and strained, but unmistakable.

Ash and Lillie froze in place, their expressions of shock mirroring each other. "Rayquaza..." Ash murmured. "You... you can talk?"

"Talk... yes," Rayquaza replied, her words halting but improving with each attempt. "Feel... strange... but... good."

Lillie pressed a hand to her mouth, her wide eyes fixed on the dragon. "Arceus granted them the ability... and Rayquaza is using it," she whispered.

Rayquaza's voice grew steadier, her tone carrying both wonder and pride. "I... speak now. Always... wondered."

Meanwhile, Dawn, oblivious to Arceus's presence due to the Pokémon's divine decision, was too focused on the sight of the other legendary Pokémon to notice much else. She turned to Ash, still marveling at his team. "Hey, what's with all the legends? Are you saving the world every week or something?"

Ash, still processing Rayquaza's speech, chuckled nervously. "Something like that," he said, his voice faint.

As the rest of the Pokémon adjusted to their newfound ability to speak, Arceus gave a slight nod to Ash and Lillie, her glowing presence radiating approval before she faded back into the divine ether. The clearing returned to its peaceful state, though the atmosphere carried a new sense of wonder and possibility.

Rayquaza rumbled softly, turning her gaze to Lillie. "You... good trainer. Worthy... to journey with him," she said, her voice steadying with each word.

Lillie's cheeks turned pink at the compliment, but she managed a grateful smile. "Thank you, Rayquaza. That means a lot."

As the group prepared to continue their journey, Ash couldn't help but grin, glancing at Rayquaza. "This is gonna take some getting used to," he said. Pikachu, perched on his shoulder, gave an enthusiastic "Pika!" as if agreeing.

With newfound connections and mysteries to explore, the trio pressed on, the adventure ahead promising to be even more extraordinary.

--

As Ash, Lillie, and Dawn approached the perimeter of Cherrygrove City, the sight of the quaint town's vibrant coastline and charming streets came into view. The group paused briefly to take in the serene atmosphere before Ash reached for his PokéBalls. With careful motions, he began recalling most of his legendary Pokémon, their brilliant forms disappearing into flashes of light as they returned to their PokéBalls.

However, Ash decided to leave a few of his most iconic Pokémon out for some well-deserved freedom. Lunala spread its majestic wings, casting a faint, otherworldly glow over the group. Dawn Wings Necrozma remained silent yet imposing, hovering with an aura of quiet strength. Rayquaza coiled gracefully in the air, its serpentine form cutting through the wind like a blade. Giratina lingered, its eerie yet awe-inspiring presence commanding the respect of everyone nearby.

The four Pokémon seemed to relish the opportunity to stretch their wings and explore. Lunala glided elegantly through the skies, its soft luminescence trailing behind like a comet's tail. Rayquaza soared upward, weaving through the clouds with smooth, calculated movements. Dawn Wings Necrozma followed in slow, deliberate arcs, while Giratina, in its Altered Forme, seemed to explore the area more cautiously, as if observing this new terrain with curiosity.

Lillie watched them with wide eyes, her admiration unmistakable. "It's incredible seeing them all like this," she said softly. Snowy let out an excited yip at her feet, clearly just as mesmerized.

Dawn shook her head, still struggling to fully process what she was witnessing. "Ash, you're seriously like a magnet for the most amazing Pokémon in the world. This feels like something out of a dream!"

Ash grinned, rubbing the back of his neck. "I guess I've been lucky," he said modestly, though he couldn't hide the pride in his voice. "But it's not just luck. I've got a bond with each of them, and that's what makes it special."

Rayquaza, hearing Ash's words, cast a glance downward, its sharp eyes gleaming with something that resembled approval. Meanwhile, Giratina let out a low, echoing sound—neither threatening nor playful, but a noise that carried an air of contemplation.

As the Pokémon continued their leisurely flight around the outskirts of Cherrygrove City, the group made their way into the town itself. The peaceful charm of the city welcomed them, its small shops and friendly inhabitants giving it a cozy, welcoming vibe. The team decided to take a moment to rest, letting their Pokémon enjoy the skies above while they explored what Cherrygrove had to offer.

For Ash, Lillie, and Dawn, the journey ahead was filled with countless possibilities. And for their Pokémon, the sky was theirs to claim—even if just for a little while.

--

After arriving in Cherrywood, Ash, Lillie, and Dawn made their way through the town, exploring its quiet charm and stocking up on the supplies they would need for their respective journeys. The streets were dotted with small shops, and the townsfolk welcomed them warmly, offering advice and well-wishes.

As they wrapped up their shopping, Dawn turned to Ash and Lillie with a soft smile. "Well, this is it," she said, a tinge of nostalgia in her voice. "It's time for me to go my own way. Thank you both for everything—it's been an incredible journey."

Ash gave her a heartfelt smile, clasping her hand briefly. "Thanks for traveling with us, Dawn. You've made this journey unforgettable. Best of luck wherever you go next."

Lillie nodded, her expression warm yet wistful. "We'll miss you, Dawn. You've been such an amazing friend to both of us. I hope we meet again someday."

With a final wave, Dawn turned and headed off into the horizon, her own path calling her forward. Ash and Lillie stood quietly for a moment, watching her go, before turning back toward their next destination.

Now fully supplied and ready, Ash and Lillie left Cherrywood behind and began their journey to the nearest port. The air was crisp as they walked along the winding roads, the anticipation of returning to Alola filling their hearts. Lunala soared above them with its elegant glow, while Dawn Wings Necrozma, Rayquaza, and Giratina flew alongside, cutting through the skies with ease.

As the port town drew closer, Ash glanced at Lillie, his excitement evident. "It's going to be great to visit Alola again," he said, his voice full of energy. "I can't wait to see everyone and show you how much I've grown since the last time we were there."

Lillie smiled at his enthusiasm, her own thoughts drifting to the memories she held of her home region. "It'll be amazing to be back," she said softly. "I just hope I can show everyone how much I've grown too."

Together, they pressed on, the horizon ahead promising a new chapter in their journey. Alola awaited them, its warmth and familiarity calling them home—even if just for a little while.

--

The gentle sound of waves crashing against the shore welcomed Ash and Lillie as they arrived in the nameless port town. The sea breeze carried the faint scent of salt, mingling with the bustling sounds of sailors preparing their ships for departure. The town itself was small, with a few modest shops and cafes scattered along the harbor.

Ash took a moment to release a sigh, enjoying the view of the open ocean. He reached for his PokéBalls and began recalling his legendary Pokémon—Lunala, Dawn Wings Necrozma, Giratina, and Rayquaza. The flashes of light faded as each Pokémon returned to their respective PokéBalls, leaving the group momentarily quiet. Pikachu, however, was perched on Ash's shoulder, its tail flicking thoughtfully.

"Pikachu… can… talk now?" Pikachu suddenly said, its high-pitched voice carrying a hint of curiosity. The words, though simple, were unmistakable.

Ash froze, his eyes widening as he whipped his head toward Pikachu. "W-wait, you're speaking human language?!"

Pikachu tilted its head, its ears twitching. "Why... yes. How? Don't know. But Pikachu feels... strange. Good strange." It struggled slightly with some of the words, but Ash could sense its excitement.

Lillie turned, her own shock mirroring Ash's. "Pikachu… you can actually talk? That's incredible!" She reached out to Pikachu, who leapt gracefully onto her arm.

Pikachu's gaze settled on Ash. "Why... so many big, big Pokémon? What... going on, Ash?" Its voice, though small, carried genuine curiosity.

Ash chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his head. "It's, uh, kind of a long story, buddy. But don't worry. You're still my number one partner."

Satisfied, Pikachu nodded. "Good. Always will be."

Meanwhile, Lillie reached for her phone, dialing her mother. Her face lit up as the call connected, and Lusamine's cheerful voice came through. "Lillie! Oh, it's so good to hear from you! How are you?"

"Hi, Mother," Lillie said warmly. "I'm doing great! Ash and I are at a port town, and we're heading back to Alola for a little bit."

The sound of Lusamine's excitement was unmistakable. "You're coming home? Oh, Lillie, that's wonderful! Your brother will be so happy to hear this!" There was a pause, followed by muffled conversation on Lusamine's end. "Gladion! Come here, your sister is coming home!"

A moment later, Gladion's voice replaced Lusamine's on the call. "Lillie? Is it true? You're really coming back?"

"Yes, Gladion," Lillie said softly, her voice filled with warmth. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"

There was a brief pause before Gladion spoke again. "Let me talk to Ash."

Lillie blinked, slightly caught off guard. "Oh, okay." She handed the phone to Ash, who took it with a curious expression.

"Hey, Gladion," Ash said, lifting the phone to his ear.

"Ash," Gladion said, his voice firm but not unfriendly. "I hope you've been keeping my sister safe. She means a lot to me, and I'll hold you responsible if anything happens to her."

Ash grinned, his confidence unshaken. "Of course, Gladion. You know me—I'd never let anything happen to Lillie. She's in good hands."

Gladion's tone softened slightly. "Alright. I'll see you both in Alola. Travel safe."

With that, Ash handed the phone back to Lillie, who smiled as she continued chatting briefly with her mother. Pikachu, now perched on Ash's shoulder again, tilted its head curiously. "Who... was that?"

Ash chuckled, ruffling Pikachu's ears. "Just Lillie's brother. He's a good guy—just a little overprotective."

As the call ended, Lillie tucked her phone back into her bag, her expression a mix of excitement and nerves. "Mother and Gladion are really looking forward to seeing us," she said, glancing at Ash. "I think this visit to Alola is going to be unforgettable."

Ash nodded, his gaze shifting to the open ocean. "Yeah. It's going to be great to be back."
