VIKTOR KRUM EXECUTED

Viktor Krum, notorious vampire and serial killer, was executed this morning by exposure to daylight. He was 45 years old.
"Viktor's execution is an example of how barbaric wizarding law is applied and how the British Ministry of Magic fails to stand for justice," said Lewis Shunpike, Krum's lawyer, in a public statement. "Throughout the world, witches and wizards are executed in cruel ways. They are melted in death pools, thrown to manticores, or murdered with curses after little more than a show of a trial. Krum came here because England is one of the few countries with humane prisons, but we sent him to die anyway. This is a failure of leadership, and I blame Minister Granger personally."
Viktor Krum, once a star Quidditch player and the pride of Durmstrang Academy, disappeared after the accidental death of his husband nine years ago. It is believed he was turned into a vampire shortly after and began a series of grisly murders. While a complete count of his victims may never be known, it has been confirmed to have killed thirty people, including twelve muggles.
It is unclear how many of his victims were killed after he was turned, when he would be considered less culpable for his options. However, sources within the Bulgarian Ministry of Magic told The Quibbler only half of them were found drained of blood and most were Ministry officials with personal or professional connections to Krum.
The British Ministry of Magic declined repeated requests for comment. -30-

The quote by Shunpike is unduly long. Trim two sentences or summarize. It would be best in a separate article just about the legal aspects. Can you get an interview?
There is no need to break down the number of people killed by how many were magical and how many muggles. We're all people.
Typo: the expression is "less culpable for his actions" not "options." You could also say he "wasn't responsible." Tightens the prose a little.
Add a sentence or two about the prevalent belief vampires are enlightened creatures created by celestial beings. Many people believe this!
