"Alya! I dont wanna go to work!" said Marinette as her friend kept rubbing her back gently. For once, Alya wasnt throwing herself on her friend in order to wake her up.
"Girl, I know you dont want too. But you will have to go someday… it might enable you to think about something else than your unexpected pregnancy." Marinette buried her face in her pillow and groaned.
"But I still havent taken a decision!"
"Well, it´s only been a few days and let´s see how things evolve, and by that you must go to work and seek normalcy once again. It will do you some good to pick up your routine again. Hopefully it will clear everything up." Reluctantly Marinette sat up to glare at her friend but was hit by a sudden wave of nausea and ran to the bathroom. She ready for this to end… but how?
Marinette had spent the last couple of days, tearing the petals of flowers, hoping they would give her an answer to the question she, herself, couldnt answer.
Should I keep it or not? Why cant someone else take the decision for me?!
Marinette was torn. On one side, she always wanted to have kids, she had a stable job as a designer in a famous company, she had family that could always help her, she was 26, so her body and hormones are even begging her to have kids. So nothing was really stopping her. On the other hand, was this really how she wanted things to work out? Did she really want to have a kid like this? She had always pictured herself, married to the man of her dreams and he would continually shower her with love and affection and would always be there for her and their child. This wasnt something Marinette had. Far from it. She had dated but dedicated most of her time to her job. She still had her hopeless crush on her bosss son, but well it was a crush… well maybe a huge crush, but still, she had to stop making herself illusions. Now that she was pregnant, she was sure nothing would happen at all. She wasnt going to be an attractive pregnant woman. Add that she just had had a promotion and now she was pregnant… her boss wouldnt be really happy about it…
After cleaning herself up, taking a shower and dressing herself, she went to the kitchen where Alya was preparing her some breakfast. Marinette quietly munched on her breakfast, while her friend kept throwing her sideways glances.
"What is it Alya?"
"Maybe… maybe you should meet him and decide afterwards. Maybe he is a good guy… or maybe he is awful. It would make your decision easier." Marinette sighed.
"Maybe, but I dont want to be biased by his beauty or non-existent beauty, Alya. Its unfair for the baby, only to keep him because his father is hot or not. Hotness should not be a factor in my decision, thats why I wont contact him." Alya sighed, before turning her attention to her cup of coffee in her hands.
"Alright, I get your point. But those women, who actually want to be inseminated, get to choose their sperm donor, you didnt."
"Well, I think they check the sperm first and dont accept old men, so that closes the subject Alya."
Marinette stood up, packing her sketchbook in her purse and left the apartment, after having found her second pump somewhere in the mess that was her room.
I felt inspired to write some more after such a long time ! Hopefully it will last and you will be able to enjoy !
