Here we go once more! Let's do this!
Chapter 2: The Journey
At the Gathering Island:
Jayfeather awoke and muttered, "I can't believe it either, Tallstar. Mothwing's faith has been restored. I ventured into her dream last night, hoping to catch a fucking break. And of course she got a prophecy from Starclan. The first one she has ever received. God damn it Tallstar. It was far vaguer than usual. The hell did any of it mean?! Especially the North Star part. I am going to assume that hope is Firestar, as he has always been a beacon of hope since his birth. But the rest? No idea." Jayfeather sighed and a feminine voice asked, "Everything alright, Love?" Jayfeather turned his blind gaze towards the source. He tasted the air and mewed, "Yeah. Everything is fine, Hollyleaf."
Hollyleaf asked, "You sure? You seem more grumpy than usual." Jayfeather answered, "I am fine. I promise." Hollyleaf joked, "We could find some place quiet so we can deal with your…. Shall we say attitude." Jayfeather laughed and said, "Good luck finding any peace and quiet on this island. The rain has caused serious flooding. The only cats that might be able to return home currently, are going to be the Riverclan cats, but even they are staying on the island because of the waves. I suppose there are the trees, but dealing with my attitude in the trees on a sacred place such as the Gathering Island, seems like heresy against Starclan." Jayfeather thought for a moment and said, "Then again. Might teach them a lesson so they make visions and prophecies less vague. I will get back to you about that one." Hollyleaf giggled and said, "Can't wait." Jayfeather listened to his sister walk away.
With Firestar and Sunnypelt:
Firestar stopped in front of the river in Riverclan territory. His eyes widened at the state of the river. Sunnypelt asked, "How are we going to get across? The stepping stones are gone!" Firestar thought of a plan and he said, "You're going to have to trust me. I know I said I can't be trusted, but as long as I don't sleep, everything should be okay. Or so I hope."
Sunnypelt looked at Firestar and said, "Of course I trust you. Because I still don't think you did it." Firestar sighed and said, "We aren't going to have that argument again. I'm going to launch you across the river." Sunnypelt's eyes widened. She took a breath and said, "Alright. How are we doing this?"
Firestar answered, "Just, make sure you stick the landing safely." Firestar got onto his back and said, "Back up a bit and run at me. Leap into the air a fox-length or so before my body. I will launch you across the river as long as you time your jump correctly." Sunnypelt nodded her understanding and backed up several fox-lengths.
She mewed, "Here goes." Sunnypelt ran towards Firestar. She jumped into the air a fox-length before Firestar's body. Firestar waited until he felt Sunnypelt's paws on his and he growled as he forced his legs up swiftly, launching Sunnypelt several fox-lengths into the air. Sunnypelt felt herself get launched into the air and she focused on staying calm.
Sunnypelt hit the ground on the other side of the river harshly, but rolled to lessen the impact. She got to her paws shakily and said, "Damn. I am glad I paid attention to Firestar when he leapt over the entire river a few moons ago or that landing would've hurt more than a claw down my flank." She asked, "What about you?" Firestar replied, "Same as before."
Firestar backed up. His paws sparked and his eyes flashed flame orange for a second. Firestar sprinted and leapt into the air. He landed well behind Sunnypelt and he rolled to lessen the impact. Firestar got to his paws and said, "Come on. Let's go. Try to keep up, Sunnypelt." Sunnypelt mewed, "Wait for me jackass." Firestar sat down.
Once Sunnypelt ran over to him, Firestar mewed, "Do try to keep up." Sunnypelt teased, "I will keep up just fine, old man." Firestar laughed and said, "We look to be about the same age." Sunnypelt giggled and said, "We are the same age. Twenty-three moons old." Firestar laughed and said, "Almost in our prime. Now. Let's get going."
Firestar and Sunnypelt turned towards the mountain. Firestar asked, "We need to go to the old Forest. Are you ready to return to your clan?" Sunnypelt answered, "Honestly, yeah. But at the same time, I'm nervous." Firestar asked, "Why are you nervous?" Sunnypelt answered, "Because of the New Code. I do not know how everyone will react to finding out it's been changed."
Firestar said, "That…. Is an understandable reason to be nervous. Well. No time like the present as they say. I have but one request before we begin." Sunnypelt looked at him and spat, "If your request involves mating me, I'm gonna claw you." Firestar answered calmly, "Heavens no. I need you to do everything in your power to keep me awake as long as possible. We don't know if last night will be the only time something like what happened, will happen." Sunnypelt said, "I still don't believe you did what you think you did. But, if it keeps your anxiety and fear down, I promise to do what I can to keep you awake." Firestar mewed, "Thank you. Let's go." Firestar and Sunnypelt ran towards the mountains.
The duo arrived at the base of the mountain after a few days of constant rain, only stopping to hunt rarely. Firestar thought he heard something behind him and he whirled around, teeth bared, ready to fight. He saw nothing and Sunnypelt mewed, "You need to rest soon. You're starting to imagine things." Firestar growled, "No. I can rest when I die." Sunnypelt shook her head and mewed, "Fine. Maybe we can catch Stormfur on a border patrol?" Firestar mewed, "Maybe."
The duo walked up the mountain and Firestar mewed, "Please be careful. I really don't want to have to jump off this god forsaken mountain yet again to save someone." Sunnypelt opened her mouth to say something when the duo was ambushed from a large boulder to their left by several cats. Firestar immediately spat, "Who the fuck are you guys?!" A she-cat hissed, "We are the ones that are taking back the mountain from the Tribe in the caves. Wanna join us?"
Firestar growled, "Hell no. I'd rather die than help rogues like yourselves overthrow the Tribe of Rushing Water." The she-cat hissed, "Your funeral. What about your mate?" Firestar and Sunnypelt shared a look and laughed in unison. Sunnypelt said after she stopped laughing, "We aren't mates. We literally just met like four moons ago, I think." Firestar nodded and replied, "We are just traveling together."
The she-cat furled her lips and said, "Enough chit chat. KILL THEM!" Firestar and Sunnypelt evaded the attacks. Firestar blocked an ugly calico she-cat's claws. Blood trickled down his forelegs. Firestar slipped another attack and retaliated with a closed paw, sending the she-cat flying into the boulder they had come out from. Blood from her face sprayed Firestar's face.
Firestar slipped more attacks and clawed the tom's flank. Blood sprayed onto Firestar's flank. Firestar growled in glee. A cat's claws slashed across Firestar's throat. Sunnypelt yelled, "FIRESTAR NO!" Her eyes widened in disbelief as the wound healed in a flash of fire.
Firestar looked at the cat that tried to kill him and mewed with joy, "You just tried to kill me. I can now kill you all to defend her and I. Big mistake dumbass! I think Ima enjoy this!" The she-cat asked, her voice shaky, "W-What a-are you?!" Firestar flashed a toothy grin and answered, "I am your worst nightmare, given a physical form." Firestar slipped several strikes and leapt onto the back of the she-cat leading this band of rogues. He forced her to the ground, dug his claws into her skull to get a grip, and swiftly snapped her neck. Firestar turned his gaze towards his next target.
Sunnypelt avoided an attack and retaliated with a claw upside the tom's head. Sunnypelt leapt backwards to avoid an attack, and almost fell off the cliff's edge. As she struggled to regain her balance, two of the rogues approached her. A tom with a gravelly voice said, "Stupid bitch. It's evident you haven't fought on the mountains before." The tom leapt towards Sunnypelt to knock her off the mountain and send her tumbling down the cliff's edge, but a flame-coloured pelt knocked the cat away. Firestar grabbed Sunnypelt by her scruff and threw her towards the middle of the path.
Sunnypelt landed and immediately looked at Firestar. Firestar growled, "Pay attention damn it!" Sunnypelt looked to her left and immediately ducked under the attack. She avoided another claw and bit into the she-cat's foreleg. The she-cat hissed in pain.
Firestar was fighting near the cliff's edge. He blocked several claws and smirked. Firestar sunk his teeth deep into one of his assailants' legs and threw them over the edge, making sure to throw the cat away from the pool of water below. He yelled, "HOPE YOU HAVE A NICE FALL!" Firestar turned his gaze to the other cat attacking and mewed enthusiastically, "You're next. How to kill you? Hmmmm…. I know. By moving so fast that you can't perceive me." Firestar appeared to disappear from where he was standing. A massive slit appeared on the cat's neck. Firestar reappeared in front of the cat whose throat he had just slit. Blood sprayed onto Firestar's pelt and he chuckled, reveling in the death of the cat he had just killed.
Sunnypelt evaded several attacks, but was shoved from the side. Firestar looked over and saw that Sunnypelt was being pushed back to the Cliff's Edge. He thought, 'Damn it. There goes my fun. I have to ensure she makes it back to Skyclan.' Firestar's pelt ignited in flames and he shot forward like a snake striking.
Sunnypelt could no longer dodge attacks as she was too close to the cliff's edge. She looked at the remaining three cats surrounding her. A battle-scarred female calico mewed, "Well. Looks like your luck has run out. Too bad. I was enjoying this. However, I have taken a liking to you because of your prowess in combat. You would mother many strong kits. Last chance. Join us." Sunnypelt hissed, "Go. To. Hell! I will accept my death like a Warrior and find peace in the fact that I will be hunting with Starclan."
The she-cat mewed, "Tsk. Well. That's too bad. Chuck. Send her off." A large battle-scarred ginger pelted tom missing his left ear padded forwards. Sunnypelt looked at him and hissed. Chuck shoved her off of the cliff's edge. Sunnypelt felt the ground no longer underneath her paws. She flailed and looked down. She thought, 'Well. I guess this is it. Firestar was right. I shouldn't have come with. Damn it.' Sunnypelt had come to terms with her demise. She said one final prayer to Starclan and waited for the impact to feel her life slip away. Something slammed into her from the side and she felt her trajectory change drastically. A voice yelled, "GRAB ME THE BEST YOU CAN AND HOLD ON! I GOT YOU!"
Firestar hissed, "How dare you three?" Firestar shot forward and swiftly killed the three remaining rogues. He padded over to the cliff's edge and looked down. He saw that Sunnypelt was a ways away from the pool below. He felt time slow for him and he began thinking rapidly, 'Okay. How do I save her? I do not know if I can defy gravity with my speed to sprint down this damn near ninety-degree cliff. Worst case scenario, I take the impact and lose a life. But best case scenario, I save both our lives. Fuck it, we ball. Let's go.' Firestar's paws sparked and he sprinted down the cliffside, time still seemingly slowed for him.
Firestar kept sprinting down the cliff. His hind legs bunched in anticipation and he launched from the cliff side with a powerful leap. He angled himself so he collided with Sunnypelt from a diagonal direction, hoping to make sure the impact of the mid-air collision would change their trajectories so they landed into the pool. Time began to resume at its normal pace for Firestar as he collided into Sunnypelt's side and yelled, "GRAB ME THE BEST YOU CAN AND HOLD ON! I GOT YOU!" Firestar felt Sunnypelt obey his command and he stuck his front paws out, hoping to dive into the pool. They impacted the water and almost hit the bottom. Firestar almost gasped for breath at the impact. He felt weak but he thought to himself, 'No. NOT YET! I'VE STILL GOT PLENTY IN THE TANK! I CAN HUNT WITH STARCLAN, AFTER I KILL TIGERSTAR!' Firestar planted his feet on the bottom of the pool and launched himself and Sunnypelt towards the surface.
Their heads broke the surface and both cats gasped for breath. Firestar swam towards the pool's edge while Sunnypelt clung to him. He climbed out and said, "You can let go now, Sunnypelt." Sunnypelt let go and coughed up a mouthful of water. Firestar looked around and asked, "How did we get here?" Sunnypelt mewed in disbelief, "Y-You don't remember?" Firestar shook his head no and saw that the pool was tinted red. He asked, "What happened to the pool?" Sunnypelt struggled to her paws and looked at it. She gasped in disbelief and looked back at Firestar. Her eyes widened.
Sunnypelt mewed, "Y-Your pelt is clean!" Firestar said, "Of course it is! I don't like to be dirty." Sunnypelt looked at the pool again and muttered, "His pelt is completely clean and he's back to normal. How much blood did he have on his coat?! Must've been a lot if it tinted the pool red." Firestar asked, "Again. How did we get here?" Sunnypelt looked at him and mewed, "You're on a quest for revenge. You want to kill Tigerstar because of what he made you dream about, and it happened."
Firestar asked, "What happened?" Sunnypelt couldn't believe her ears. She asked, "W-Wait. You seriously don't remember?!" Firestar nodded and Sunnypelt thought to herself, 'The hell is going on?! He doesn't remember?! And he's a completely different person than the one I was traveling with that was hellbent on revenge!' Firestar looked around and said, "We're at the mountains. I wonder if Starclan can see us here. I know the Tribe of Endless Hunting can see us."
Sunnypelt's jaw dropped and she said, "W-Wait. You said your faith was gone because of everything that you've been put through!" Firestar laughed and said, "That's preposterous! I'd never stop believing in Starclan!" Firestar eyed her up and down and said, "Oh. You're serious. The fuck happened?" Sunnypelt sighed and said, "Alright. I'll remind you."
Firestar listened intently to what Sunnypelt was saying. Once she was finished, he mewed, "Wait. So. I killed my mates and disposed of the evidence? I'd never do something like that. We had one hell of an argument and I told you my darkest secret about how I used to be a twoleg, yet you still came with me anyway. I didn't give a flying fuck about myself and just wanted to kill Tigerstar. And then I changed when I landed in the pool, that just so happened to clean the blood off of me. That about sum it up?" Sunnypelt nodded and Firestar thought for a second.
Sunnypelt said, "I'm telling you, something strange is happening." Firestar nodded his agreement and said, "Well. I do need to kill Tigerstar. As much as I'd hate to dirty my paws more, it must be done." Firestar heard the bushes rustle in front of him. Sunnypelt turned her attention toward the noise and gasped as she saw a large cat walk out.
Firestar smiled and said, "Sharptooth! How's it going, man?" Sharptooth ran over and said, "Starclan and I have been looking all over for you! We haven't been able to find you for four days! Are you okay?!" Firestar nodded and said, "Yeah. Yeah I am. Hey. Talk to Stripestar about something for me." Sharptooth mewed, "Of course. What is it?" Firestar mewed, "Ask Stripestar if he knows anything about one's pelt being cleaned of blood and it causes them to change." Sharptooth mewed, "That's a weird ask, but alright." Firestar smiled and mewed, "Thank you."
Sharptooth returned to Starclan and Firestar looked at Sunnypelt. He said, "Well. We have to get you back home, don't we? And I have a source of evil to kill. If what you told me is true, Tigerstar needs to die. And afterward, to keep the forest safe, I will take my own life." Sunnypelt mewed, "Indeed. However, I still don't think you did what you think you did." Firestar replied somberly, "I am not willing nor can the forest afford for me to take that risk. Let's go."
Firestar and Sunnypelt padded back up the mountain. Sunnypelt asked, "You alright, Firestar? That was a hell of an impact to save me." Firestar chuckled and said, "I appreciate the concern, but I am fine. It isn't the first time I've taken that impact to save someone. I doubt it'll be the last." The two cats sat at the border of Tribe territory and awaited a patrol.
The two cats heard a voice they recognized. "Hey! Been awhile! How have you two been?" mewed Stormfur. Firestar answered, "I've been. We need to cross the mountain." Stormfur padded over and teased, "Alright. You taking Sunnypelt home to meet her parents?" Both Firestar and Sunnypelt blushed and Firestar mewed, "Starclan, no. I already have ten…. Right… seven mates. I don't need another." Stormfur's ear twitched and he asked, "Did something happen?" Firestar's eyes watered and he explained what happened.
Stormfur's eyes widened and he said, "Damn. Just…. Damn man. I can't even begin to imagine the pain you're in. However, if it makes you feel better, I doubt you are the one that took their life." Firestar snapped, "It doesn't matter if I did or not. Tigerstar will die by my paws, and then as a precaution, I will be taking my own life to keep the forest safe!" Firestar ran across the border, tears in his eyes.
Stormfur and Sunnypelt shared a look and Sunnypelt mewed, "I don't believe he did it either. Something smells fishy about the whole situation." Stormfur said, "I agree. I need you to promise me something, Sunnypelt." Sunnypelt looked at Stormfur; her head tilted to the side in curiosity; and he continued, "Get through to him. Please. I don't want to imagine seeing the one I call sister distraught because of the death of her mate. For his and her sake, please get through to him."
Sunnypelt said, "I promise." Stormfur flashed a weak smile and said, "Good. Now, we should go find that dumbass before he gets himself killed."
As Firestar ran through tribe territory, he began to recognize the area that Splashfur and he spent the night together looking at the northern lights. Firestar stopped and climbed up the rocks, his tears flowing freely. Firestar sniffled and looked at his paws, his body shaking. He looked around for fox dung to hide his scent so he could have a moment of alone time, but saw none. He muttered weakly, "D-Damn it."
Firestar looked up at the stars and growled, "WHY?! WHY DID THEY HAVE TO DIE?! WHY DID I LOSE CONTROL AND DO IT?! DAMN IT STARCLAN, ANSWER ME! I KNOW YOU FUCKERS ARE THE ONE WHO SENT ME THE VISION ABOUT DOING IT! I KNOW DAMN WELL TIGERSTAR DOESN'T HAVE THE ABILITY TO SEND VISIONS, SO WHY DID THEY HAVE TO DIE?! WHY DID I KILL THEM?! ANSWER ME YOU DICKS!"
Firestar felt himself begin hyperventilating, so he focused on controlling his breathing to regain control of his breathing. He sniffled and roared loud as he could, "WHY DID THEY HAVE TO DIE?! WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE REASON FOR ME FALLING FOR THEM IF I WAS JUST GOING TO KILL THEM?! IS THIS PUNISHMENT FOR GETTING ATTACHED WHEN I HAVE THE WEIGHT OF THE WHOLE WORLD ON MY SHOULDERS?! IS IT?! ANSWER ME!"
Sunnypelt and Stormfur heard a roar of distraught and anguish that said, "WHY DID THEY HAVE TO DIE?! WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE REASON FOR ME FALLING FOR THEM IF I WAS JUST GOING TO KILL THEM?! IS THIS PUNISHMENT FOR GETTING ATTACHED WHEN I HAVE THE WEIGHT OF THE WHOLE WORLD ON MY SHOULDERS?! IS IT?! ANSWER ME!"
The two looked at one another and sprinted towards the source of the roar. Sunnypelt pulled ahead of Stormfur and saw a large rock ahead of her. She growled and leapt completely over, landing on a ledge. She turned right and padded towards the edge. Her eyes caught sight of a ginger-pelted cat sniffling.
Sunnypelt walked over and laid next to the Tom. The tom's emerald green gaze locked eyes with her. The tears he was crying made his eyes appear to sparkle. Sunnypelt said, "Hey." Firestar hissed, "Stay away! What if I hurt you too?!"
Sunnypelt answered calmly, "First of all, we both know you'd never do that while under control. We aren't mates, nor will we ever be. Secondly, I am telling you that you didn't do it. Thirdly, you need to talk to someone, Firestar. And last but not least, you don't need to hold the weight of the whole world on your shoulders alone, Firestar. Spread it across those that fight alongside you, or you will eventually crumble under its weight."
Firestar looked at her and said with a weak chuckle, "You're starting to sound just like Spottedleaf. You're right… You are. I need to get back up." Firestar got to his paws slowly. He wiped his eyes with his paws and said, "Let's go. Let's get you back home."
Firestar and Sunnypelt were led out of Tribe territory by Stormfur. Firestar and Sunnypelt looked ahead of them. Firestar mewed, "We're losing time. Double time. ON ME!" Firestar shot forward. Sunnypelt shook her head and sprinted closely behind him. The two weaved between obstacles.
After a couple days of nonstop running, aside from stopping rarely to eat, Sunnypelt had begun to recognize things. She mewed, "If we keep going straight, we should come across the border of Skyclan." Firestar said, "Good. Maybe they know where he is." Sunnypelt mewed, "We have not found any signs of anyone around us. Then again, it has been a few moons since I was last home."
The two kept running forwards. Sunnypelt slowed to a walk. Firestar followed her lead. Sunnypelt mewed, "We're at the border." Firestar looked around, taking in his surroundings of this familiar, yet unknown territory. He muttered, "It's more beautiful than I thought it would be because of the Twolegs." Sunnypelt asked, "You say something?" Firestar replied, "It doesn't matter."
Sunnypelt looked at the sun and saw it was almost sun-high. She took a whiff of the air and said, "Something isn't right. The border hasn't been refreshed since last night. Shit." Sunnypelt ran across the border. Firestar felt unease creep into his mind and he shot across the border. Firestar caught up to Sunnypelt and mewed, "Guide me! I'll take the lead!" Sunnypelt mewed her acknowledgement to the command. Firestar pulled ahead, and listened to Sunnypelt's directions.
As they ran, Firestar began to hear the sound of battle. He yelled behind him, "THERE'S A BATTLE!" Firestar saw a clearing ahead.
In Skyclan's Camp:
Fidgetflake was defending the Elder's with Frecklewish when a Tom breached the clearing. As he breached it he yelled, "WHERE THE FUCK IS HE?! WHERE IS THAT MOTHERFUCKER?!" Fidgetflake looked over and his eyes went wide. He saw a flame-colored tom standing there. A ginger-pelted she-cat ran in behind him and he recognized Sunnypelt.
Firestar looked around and the battle had paused. A she-cat mewed, "Who? And why do you look familiar? Wait… Wait a moment. Is that you, Firestar?!" Firestar replied somberly, "My name is Firestar, but I know I am not the Firestar you know. Firestar hunts with Starclan now." The she-cat's face darkened in sadness. She mewed, "I see." Firestar looked around and said, "I'm looking for someone. We can talk about it after we push these bastards back!" Firestar looked around at the assortment of rogues and said, "So. We can either do this the easy way, or the hard way."
A calico she-cat spat, "Who the fuck do you think you are? You are in no place to make demands." Firestar chuckled and said, "My name is Firestar. And I am the Fire that will save the clans." Firestar looked at the rogues and his eyes went wide as he saw several of them had metal claw tips. He muttered, "Metal Claw Tips?! Bloodclan?! Did Scourge teach them how to do that?! Wait. That can't be. Firestar killed Scourge after being revived. Scourge took Firestar's first life. What the hell? D-Did they find a way to resurrect Scourge? If so, that means that Tigerstar is probably alive now too. FUCK! However, if they did, I highly doubt Tigerstar has his nine lives back. I know Starclan had warned me about Bloodclan, but I didn't know they were still in the old forest. I need to finish this fast. I got some revenge to exact."
Firestar's pelt ignited in white flames and said, "Last chance. Or we do this the hard way." Everyone's eyes widened in disbelief and the she-cat spat, "Neat trick. Our claws still cut deep." Firestar laughed and said, "As you wish. I tried. Skyclan, time to push these rogues back. AND NO ONE GET CUT BY THEM!" Firestar yowled a ferocious battle cry and the battle resumed.
Firestar avoided several attacks and retaliated with a closed paw. The cat was dazed and hissed, "Did you just fucking hit me?" Firestar smirked and replied, "You're goddamn right I did." Firestar felt claws rake his pelt. He hissed in pain as blood coated the dirt below him. Firestar didn't force his body to heal and evaded another strike.
Sunnypelt ran over to Macgyver and got back to back with Macgyver and she said, "Remember what we all taught you, Macgyver. You got this! Time to embrace the wild cat deep within you!" Macgyver chuckled and said, "I have been waiting for a good fight. Time to see if I truly can become a wild cat. FOR STARCLAN! FOR SKYCLAN!"
Firestar eyes raced around and leapt in front of an attack heading for a black-and-white tom with yellow eyes who wasn't paying attention to the battle at hand. Firestar felt the claws rake his cheek. Blood dripped to the ground and he hissed, "Keep your wits about you! They aren't here to break bread!" The tom mewed, "R-Right. Sorry."
Firestar blocked another strike and retaliated with a closed paw, sending the cat skidding backward. Firestar's eyes widened and he shoved the tom out of the way. Firestar barely reacted in time to evade the strike heading for his throat. Firestar hissed, "You just tried to kill me. I'll consider it an honest mistake. This time."
The she-cat spat, "Fuck is that supposed to mean?" Firestar growled, "It means don't tempt me. I wouldn't mind sending a message if I need to." The she-cat hissed and leapt at Firestar. Firestar met her in the middle and the two cats collided in the air. As they fell back to the ground, Firestar kicked the she-cat away from him and landed on his back. He kipped to his paws. As he landed, Firestar immediately dropped to his stomach to avoid a leap.
Sunnypelt clawed a tom's flank deeply. He immediately ran from the battle and she mewed, "One down. Many to go." Sunnypelt evaded several claws and tried to take a page from Firestar's book and retaliated with a closed paw. As her paw made contact, she felt something break. She bit her tongue to prevent a cry of pain. She muttered in pain, "Starclan damn it. He makes it look so damn easy." Sunnypelt shook her paw, adrenaline making the pain fade swiftly.
Firestar felt claws rake his pelt and he hissed in pain. He looked up and caught the she-cat's paw before she slashed his throat. He growled, "You're done." Firestar kicked her away and ran towards her. Firestar jumped into the air and landed on his back, sliding underneath the she-cat, his claws digging deep into her stomach. As Firestar slid underneath the she-cat with his claws deep in her stomach, he gutted her. The she-cat yowled in pain. Her cries of pain slowly faded as her life was lost due to blood-loss. She fell to the ground, dead.
Firestar got to his paws, pelt drenched in blood. He looked around for his next target, licking his lips. Firestar ran towards another rogue and tackled it. The two traded blows and the rogue kicked Firestar away from him. Firestar landed roughly and swiftly got to his feet, but the rogue had already fled. He hissed, "That's no fun." Firestar turned around only to catch claws to his throat. Blood spurted from the wound and he heard Sunnypelt yell, "FIRESTAR NO!" Firestar's wounds healed in a flash of fire and he joked, "Care to try again? No? Too bad." Firestar closed his paw and swung hard. The cat yipped in pain as it was sent flying into a rock. An audible CRACK echoed around the camp. The cat slumped down, back broken from the impact.
Leafstar mewed, "W-What is he?" Leafstar avoided a claw and countered with a claw against the she-cat's head. She avoided another attack and leapt over the she-cat fighting her.
Firestar evaded several attacks and hissed, "Time to make this fun." Firestar took a deep breath and mewed; his body erupting in a white aura, "I, who is about to awaken, am the cat sent from Heaven to protect the forest!" Firestar's aura became bright gold as he continued, "I protect the weak, and give the forest hope!" Firestar's eyes became pure white as he continued, "I shall become the Heavenly Cat of Hope!" Firestar's pelt became pure white as he continued, "I shall bring you all from the depths of despair!" Firestar's pelt ignited in white flames as he finished, "HEAVENLY CAT DRIVE!"
Everyone looked at him in awe, and Firestar tackled another cat. As they rolled through a puddle, Firestar's pelt was cleaned. He wound up on the bottom and kicked the tom off of him. He kipped to his paws and looked at his paws. He asked, "W-When did I activate the Heavenly Drive? Fuck it. Let's go!" Firestar slipped several strikes and yelled, "SKYCLAN! SHIELD YOUR EYES!" Skyclan obeyed and Firestar forced a white orb to float around him. He hissed, "Flashbang." The orb shot towards the middle of the battle and erupted in a blinding white light. The rogues yowled in pain and Firestar yelled, "SKYCLAN! OPEN YOUR EYES AND USE THEIR STATE TO YOUR ADVANTAGE!" Skyclan opened their eyes and they began to take advantage of the rogues' state.
Firestar leapt at the tom he blinded and he tackled the tom. The two struggled and Firestar wound up on the bottom. He wrapped his front legs around the tom's neck and latched the tom's hindlegs with his own and forced them to the ground. Firestar began to choke the tom out. The tom's struggles became weaker until they stopped. Firestar pushed the tom off of him and leapt back into the fray.
After another hour, the battle was over. Firestar watched the rogues retreat. His body was covered in wounds. He deactivated the Heavenly Drive and almost collapsed on the spot. He barely stayed on his paws. He was approached by the she-cat who thought he was the original Firestar. She mewed, "We need to have a conversation. Meet me in my den. The name's Leafstar." Firestar replied weakly, "Good to know. Maybe you can introduce me to the rest of your clan." Leafstar walked towards her den, Firestar on her paws.
Well. There we go! Another chapter done! It took longer than I wanted it to, but shit happens. Until Next time, May Starclan watch over you all. HappytheExceed16, logging out!
