WE ARE NOT REALLY SORRY...

This is not a chapter, but rather an author's note...

The chapter will be added within a week or two.

However, due to some reviews, with reviewers choosing to use not so constructive language to make a point, which we have repeatedly emphasized that we have noted, I feel like I really need to leave this note.

Yes, it is about those reviews slamming our use of bracketed author's comments, that you might find in the earlier chapters of both Guardian of the tailed beasts and One Year Early.

Let me make it clear, the issue was made clear to us through constructive comments, quite a while ago and we adjusted our writing style accordingly, which is why you won't find those bracketed snarky comments in the latest chapters anymore...its been like a year since we stopped using them. But still, I would like to emphasize that we have taken the point and we are working on correcting it. However, we keep getting reviews that keep on slamming us about this issue.

For example this one:

"I don't know if the Beta is stupid to put idiotic commentary on every next paragraph,

Or the author is stupid to have such a beta that is ruining his story.

And author why are you in so much hurry to get Naruto and Hinata together?

It takes all the fun out of it, you are shit at writing romance." By a user named MayabiPanchi on Guardian of the tailed beasts on 12/02/2025.

And this is just one of those that have used less than constructive language to convey a point which has been made clear to us and has been taken care of ever since. So, needless to say, this is getting a bit irritating.

So, let's get to the point:

We write these stories just as much for our own enjoyment as much as for yours. This is not a platform where we get paid for our work, nor do we need or demand any payment from any of you to read our work. This is a free site after all. We are all here due to our shared hobby, both the readers as well as the writers.

Your constructive reviews, likes and favourites have always encouraged us to keep moving forward, but we also keep writing for our own entertainment. But this writing also takes effort.

Therefore, I would like to request all of you to kindly be constructive in your language when you wish to convey a point. We really like constructive reviews and criticisms and we work on them to better our writing. We are not perfect, we are not even professional writers and we do our writing when we get some free time out of our professional engagements, which means we don't get a lot of time to write, but still we try our best to make these works enjoyable.

However, to those who are willing and wishing to use foul language and bullying tactics to force these works to be to their liking...sorry guys...we don't owe you anything. Well, we are not sorry actually. We have no intention on compromising with what we wish to write...I have made it clear long ago that slowburn romance is not really my thing, but still people just had to take an issue. And I really liked those bracketed comments, but well, we still took them back (except for the earliest chapters.). So, to those giving us those bullish and less than constructive reviews, we are not going to change our style for you. We don't intend to and we won't be sorry for that. We don't have any intentions of sacrificing our own source of entertainment to satisfy their egos.

This note absolutely not meant to be disrespectful to all of you who have left us kind and constructive reviews. We have always welcomed them and have acted upon them to the best of our abilities. I repeat that we have to make this point in order to address the reviews with aggressive language.

Therefore, I sincerely request for your understanding regarding the issue. But I don't wish to apologize for what we truly enjoy, what I truly enjoy.

I do understand that not everyone will share my preferences, our writing style, our preference to not go slowburn with NaruHina romance and other things...its totally okay. But will it be too much expect that we can agree to disagree in a civil way? There are many fics which interested me, but eventually I lost interest due to the author taking it in a direction, which I found myself disagreeing with. But that's okay, its the author's choice. And slamming the author for their choices is wrong. Nobody here forces anyone to read their work...

Well...in essence, we don't intend on entertaining reviews that don't use constructive and civil language to convey their point. It should be noted that many authors have stopped their fics and have actually proceeded to remove their work from this site due to these issues. devilzxknight86 for example removed all of his Naruto works from this site due to this issue. So, please understand that while constructive reviews are always welcome and encouraging, destructive reviews like the one mentioned here (and this is just an example, there are several like this one), can affect us negatively...

So...that's all there is to say.

Sorry, this is not a chapter. But the chapters will come out soon, at least Guardian is going to get updated within a week or two. One Year Early will be updated as well, if not in February then definitely in early March.

Everything I would have added has already been covered by RaNK. I understand that the old style was grating, it's why we eventually stopped. We were in the process of editing them out for an updated release of the early chapters for both Guardian of the Tailed Beasts and One Year Early, but this just goes to show how one person can ruin something for everyone trying to enjoy that thing. I refuse to let bullies get their way-and this was beyond inappropriate. Just because you have an alias and presumably the benefit of the limitations of the PM system to protect you from having to deal with the consequences of this doesn't mean anyone should be allowed to get away with this or get their way. So because of this insensitive…behavior…we have decided that the fanfic version of the early chapters will never get the old notes edited out. When this review came in, I was having a bad night at work and my temper was exploding and I wanted to make my note be a cuss out of this incredibly(in the most unremarkable way) small person. I stopped the notes and decided to gradually edit them out because of how bad the general consensus hated them, which affected those who liked it. Now this person ensured that the notes will never be taken out. Ah well, have a good day
