Chapter 42
Catelyn Stark gazed at the imposing gates of King's Landing and let out a sigh. It hadn't even been a year since she was last there, yet here she was again. Every time she laid eyes on the city, memories of the past haunted her. It was the place that had taken her husband and children from her. Although the times were peaceful now, being back in King's Landing made her feel eerily anxious.
"I feel exhausted already," Catelyn muttered to herself from her carriage, guided by some of the Stark's soldiers towards the Red Keep. As she observed the streets of King's Landing, she couldn't help but notice the incredible decorations adorning the city. It seemed as though the entire place was prepared for several days, filled with games, joy, and happiness.
Without a doubt, it was a beautiful sight. King's Landing seemed to be expanding, with new buildings sprouting up across the area. Some of the old structures destroyed during the war were completely demolished and reconstructed. Other areas were also entirely rebuilt. Catelyn observed Flea Bottom was no longer visible, as it was one of the first places the queen had completely renovated. The people were more than happy to have a monarch that actually cared for them.
Even Catelyn could not deny it. Yet, she was there for another reason.
Soon after arriving at the Red Keep, Catelyn noticed her daughter Sansa eagerly waiting for her. It struck Catelyn how much time had flown by as she saw Sansa, no longer a little girl but a young and beautiful woman. Despite her striking appearance, all Catelyn could see on Sansa's face was anxiety and fear.
"Mother," Sansa whispered as she saw Catelyn stepping down from the carriage. Without wasting any time, Catelyn rushed to her, embracing her daughter tenderly, as Sansa couldn't help but do the same.
"Oh, my dear girl," Catelyn whispered. "Look at you. Already a woman. You're so beautiful."
"Mother," Sansa blushed slightly, but a smile lit up her face, her eyes brimming with happiness.
"How have you been, Sansa? It's everything alright? Has anything… happen?" Catelyn asked in a whispering tone.
Sansa shook her head slightly and replied, "Nothing much, mother. It's been quite peaceful these past few months. People have mostly left us alone. Lately, we've been eating and spending time with the queen. That's the most interesting thing that has happened so far."
"I see, that's good," Catelyn muttered slowly. She glanced at Sansa, noticing the longing in her eyes to return to Winterfell from King's Landing. However, Catelyn couldn't shake off the guilt of being there for more than just visiting her daughters and ensuring their safety. A recent letter from the queen had requested Sansa to marry Tyrion Lannister. The marriage was seen as a way to reconcile both houses and establish an alliance crucial for the future.
Catelyn felt the urge to shout, scream, and even vomit at the queen's request. However, Robb reassured her that it was not meant as an insult but to be taken seriously. Neither Robb nor Catelyn liked the idea, but they acknowledged the necessity of seeking all the help they could get, given the situation in the North. The queen's point during the war was valid and becoming a reality—a full separation from the Seven Kingdoms would have resulted in significant loss of lives during winter.
Even with the crown's support, the North was in dire need of additional supplies to endure the impending winter. The Greyjoys had devastated their crops and land, leaving them reliant on aid from the South. The looming threat of the Wildlings amassing beyond the wall and gearing up for an imminent attack had severely limited their options.
They were, in other words, without choice.
Still, Robb didn't want to simply give them everything they wanted, including his sister's hand. That's why Catelyn came up with terms of their own in order to gain more from the alliance. However, Catelyn was still unsure how to approach Sansa about it.
Catelyn knew she would've to prepare for such talk soon.
"Sansa, where's Arya?" Catelyn asked, trying to change the topic for now.
"Arya... she is," Sansa began to contemplate how to address Arya's sudden decision to join the Queensguard. The idea of them accepting her into the training grounds seemed like madness to Sansa, yet she had grown accustomed to seeing Arya with bruises, complaining about her sore body, all the while sporting an excited expression on her face.
"She is currently on the training grounds," Sansa sighed.
"Training grounds?" Catelyn asked, confused.
"Well, there's a lot that has happened lately," Sansa replied.
Catelyn had a good understanding of what this could mean. Arya had often expressed her dreams openly. Usually, Catelyn would have discouraged Arya from holding onto this idea, as the notion of a woman becoming a knight seemed impossible. However, everything had shifted now. She was uncertain if she could still deter Arya. Maybe it was a positive development to allow at least one of her children to pursue their dreams.
"Well, there's a lot to discuss, no doubt," Catelyn whispered, as Sansa only chuckled.
"Yes, there's a lot to talk about."
Far away in the distance, a sudden beam of sunlight illuminated the skin of a woman, whose silver-white hair seemed accustomed to such warmth. Daenerys Targaryen has faced numerous challenges during her time as a leader. It hasn't been easy, and there have been failures. Despite it all, Daenerys has managed to thrive in various ways. Yet, amidst her successes, her thoughts often drift to something beyond the Narrow Sea.
"The Divine Queen," Daenerys muttered as the title of the regent of the Seven Kingdoms tasted bittersweet in her mouth.
"Did you say something, your grace?" asked Missandei, the young girl, as she stared at Daenerys with her golden eyes. Daenerys simply shook her head, lost in her own thoughts.
"Nothing, just my mind drifting towards home," she replied.
Missandei nodded slowly as they both gazed at the bay in front of them. "Is it about the queen on the Iron Throne?" she asked softly, her tone gentle, sparking a curiosity that made Daenerys sigh deeply.
"Yes, it is," Daenerys responded, her mind grappling with the possibility that she might not be the sole Targaryen remaining in the world. It was a challenging concept to acknowledge. Queen Galadriel's ability to hatch dragons and unite the realms under her rule left Daenerys feeling a sense of defeat. The realisation that she was essentially a Targaryen in all but name was a difficult truth to come to terms with.
"All my life, I was told by my brother that we were the last of the greatest dynasty that the world has ever seen. The last of the Valyria dragon lords. The blood of the dragon. And so many other titles, but now hearing all the things that Queen Galadriel has done—feels wrong to me," Daenerys said, her voice carrying melancholy, anger and sadness all in one. There was truly little in her mind that could offer some comfort, but maybe that was the point of feeling depressed. There was no comfort in knowing the truth.
"It's hard to realise that all I know is a lie," Daenerys said with a heavy tone of voice.
"You're still my queen," Missandei said, with a tender tone of voice that made Daenerys smile. "That won't change, even if there's another person with dragons. We won't forget that."
Daenerys found herself smiling at the young girl. "Thank you, Missandei. I appreciated it. Besides, maybe—there's hope yet for me, for the Targaryen family."
"Your grace," Jorah approached her, as Daenerys and Missandei glanced back at him.
"What is it?" Daenerys asked.
"We found something," Jorah muttered, slowly.
Daenerys was led down a small road near Slaver's Bay, where she came across the body of a young girl. The girl had been crucified, with chains still hanging around her, serving as a grim warning to anyone who dared to defy the Great Masters.
"A warning, to any slave who even thinks of escaping," Daario Naharis said, as they all saw the body of the girl being scorched by the heat of the sun. By the smell alone, it appeared to have been there for quite sometime now.
Daenerys's jaw clenched as she saw the worms eating the flesh of the small girl, as her decaying body was posed in such a way that appeared to be pointing towards the road of Meereen.
"There's one of—these warnings every mile marker from here to Meereen, your grace. You don't have to see this. We can have our man ride forward and remove them," Jorah whispered as Daenerys shook her head.
"You will do no such thing," Daenerys replied, with a hissing tone. "I will see each and every one of their faces. Remove her collar before you bury her."
Daenerys's thought may be focusing on the current matter at hand. Slaver's Bay would soon see what she was capable of doing, and while Westeros appeared to be a long way in the future. She knew it would be a matter of time before her eyes, thoughts, and plans were aimed there. After all, she belongs in Westeros, not Essos.
Arianne Martell has been strategizing effectively so far, but she has encountered some delays that she finds frustrating. She lacked patience, particularly when time seems to be slipping away slowly. In order to win over the queen, she knows she must take action. It seemed that Arianne was now more interested in seducing the queen rather than devising a plan to benefit the Martell family. It could be said that Arianne aimed to become the queen's official lover for the pleasure to bed a Divine being, but more importantly, she was curious to discover the true nature of Galadriel when she was alone.
Arianne knew that the queen hid something from all, even from Mya. There was something dangerous inside those usual innocent and gentle eyes of hers. Arianne had to know what was it. She wanted to know what was the queen hiding. And she would do it, whatever it took.
However, it appeared that Arianne wasn't the only one thinking the same. Margaery Tyrell appeared to be thinking something along those lines, too. Arianne hated to admit it, but that girl was smart and had very sharp intuition.
She would have been a great queen, and very terrifying, too. Arianne thought to herself as she walked in the darkness of the night. She knew already the corridors of the Red Keep, like the palm of her hand. She knew the patrols, and the blind spots where she could hide. Arianne only needed to be patient and wait for the right moment.
That's why Arianne would infiltrate into the Queen's chambers, and make her stand there, her full naked stand. She would showcase her amazing tongue and finger abilities. Arianne would take no for an answer and would bring pleasure to the queen in ways. She was sure Mya could not.
"I just need to be careful," Arianne whispered as she approached the Queen's tower. It was the most secure and possibly the most impenetrable place in all of Westeros. However, Arianne was determined and focused. Her mission was not to steal gold or secrets from a lord, but to place her face between the queen's thighs—a mission any man would comprehend.
However, it seemed she wasn't the only one. Just as Arianne turned a corner, she found herself face to face with another person. A small squeal escaped her mouth before a sudden hush fell over her. Arianne locked eyes with none other than Margaery Tyrell, the Pride of Highgarden and her current competition.
"Wha-what are you doing here?!" Arianne hissed angrily, as she could see that both of them were wearing a cloak over them, hiding in the shadows of the Red Keep.
"The same thing as you, I suppose," Margaery whispered. "Time is not on our side, and the more I wast playing nice, the more I have to work against."
Arianne hissed to herself. "I suppose we are against the clock. Any day from now, she would have to marry and have children. And when she does, whatever control my family could have will slip away for at leat another generation."
"We are allies by circumstances, I suppose," Margaery replied with a smile, causing Arianne to scoff.
"A queen having a few lovers is not unusual. But a queen with the kind of power that ours possesses—everyone was in awe of her. And I believe we are just starting to grasp her capabilities. First it was people's devotion, then the common folk's unwavering love for her. Then came dragons, wings, and the ability to fly. What more can she accomplish? I am truly fearful to contemplate it," Margaery added. It was the first time Arianne found herself in agreement with the flower of the Reach. It seemed inevitable that their queen would eventually do something that defied logic.
"I guess we are on the same mind," Arianne whispered back.
Soon, they both made their way towards the queen's room, anticipating a heavily guarded corridor with numerous soldiers and the statuesque Queensguard. However, to their surprise, they found an empty corridor, prompting both girls to furrow their brows in confusion.
"Uh? Where are they?" Arianne muttered, confused. "Is she sleeping in the office again?"
"No, I know she is not there. I came from there, and it was empty too," Margaery whispered. "Besides, my brother should be here. It's his shift."
Both of them frowned as they slowly opened the door of the queen's chamber. They were met with nothing but silence. The queen was nowhere to be sighted, causing both of them confusion.
"Where is she?" Arianne asked.
"It could be that there was a late meeting with the Small Council?" Margaery offered an answer she wasn't even sure of believing.
"At these hours? I found it hard to believe," Arianne replied.
Margaery's gaze shifted to the queen's desk, which was piled high with paperwork that made her a bit dizzy. Her curiosity got the better of her, and she started reading some of it. What she found was truly impressive—pages filled with equations, numbers, and concepts beyond her comprehension. She had always known the queen was brilliant, but seeing the extent of it was truly amazing.
"It never ceases to amaze me how a mind can do all of this," Margaery whispered.
"Those are the economic reports from the bank, and gods know what else. Even if a thief stole this, I doubt anyone would be able to understand what in hells this is about," Arianne added with a dry chuckle.
"Indeed," Margaery replied.
Soon after, they heard a loud noise and the sound of approaching footsteps. They both instantly knew what it meant - the queen was on her way to her chamber. They were caught off guard, as they were busy reading paperwork at her desk. Being discovered could pose a serious problem for them, potentially leading to accusations of spying, which they were doing without wanting. Such a situation could bring about significant troubles for both them and their families.
Quickly, both girls hid wherever they could, and the only place they could was inside a large closet.
"Move your fat ass!" Margaery hissed.
"Put your tits away from my face!" Arianne hissed back.
Both quickly heard the door opened and saw Galadriel, with a man they had never seen before behind her.
"Ser Barristan, could you please wait outside for a few minutes?" Galadriel requested, noticing the concern on the face of the Queensguard at the sight of a man entering the queen's chamber without protection. However, she could see their worry on their faces. "Don't worry, Sebas will be with me."
The queensguard obeyed, and soon enough, the queen, Sebas, and this strange man were inside of the chamber with no one around them.
Hidden in the closet, Arianne and Margaery held their breath as the strange man chuckled to himself. Sebas's eyebrow shot up as he eyed the closet, a reaction that almost made Galadriel snort. They knew that both individuals were there. Everything was arranged for them to be there, after all, but it was nevertheless amusing.
So, it was time to put what they trained for in practice.
"So, First Magister Doras Rogare, I appreciate your arrival, especially in such terrible times," Galadriel said, repeating what she learned from her scrip perfectly. "But the information you have brought me, it's—quite hard to ignore."
"Don't concern yourself with that, your grace. I was only doing what my family swore to do over millennia ago," Doras Rogare replied. "We've been waiting for you all this time."
"I know. Sebas has been a loyal servant since I was a child. His letters made me feel that I was not—mad," Galadriel replied with a sigh.
"You're not mad, your grace, you're simply more of what everyone believe," Doras Rogare said.
"Yeah, I am realising it," Galadriel replied. "Still, I am not quite sure about this—power, or the limitations of it."
Arianne and Margaery looked at each other, confused about what was the queen talking about, or what all of them were talking about truly.
"Can you control it?" The First Magister of Lyss asked with an excited tone of voice.
Galadriel nodded, then dramatically raised her hand. A sphere of light appeared from it, resembling a star as it started to dance around her. More spheres soon joined, orbiting around Galadriel as she seemed to effortlessly control them. Arianne and Margaery stood with mouths agape, unable to believe what they were witnessing.
"Marvellous," Doras exclaimed, as Galadriel appeared to vanish into the sphere of light around her. "So much control! How do you feel? The power in your blood?"
"It's—hard to explain. I just feel so alive," Galadriel whispered. "I feel like I can do so much more. The only thing I am afraid of is destroying this place."
Destroying?! Arianne and Margaery thought in panic and amazement.
"Still, it's too early for me to truly control this—power."
"Don't worry, your majesty, you'll learn, and the things you will achieve will leave no doubt or who you are," Doras replied, with a serious tone of voice. "The union of Lyss, the Stepstones, and Tyrosh into the Seven Kingdoms will finally allow you to become what you truly are. What you desire about all."
"An empire," Galadriel whispered, as Arianne and Margaery gasped silently. Of course, all could hear it, but decided to ignore it. Please girls, you both are running the scene.
"Lyss, I understand that the Stepstones is a lawless place that we can soon control. But Tyrosh, how did you manage to convince them to join this union?" Galadriel feigned interest, knowing well the brutal methods used. Demiurge and Shalltear eliminated all nobles who opposed them, replacing them with puppets on a silent night. This move was bound to stir chaos in Tyrosh and Lyss, as there were many who preferred independence. However, Galadriel and Nazarick had a plan for that – a ruthless and brutal one at that.
Yet, the one who survived would find out that it was better to accept this new reality than fight it. Besides, saying that was not part of the scrip.
"Because they believe in you. My queen, you're what the descendants of Valyria were waiting for, and although there may be opposition, the majority understand that it's just a matter of time before Westeros surpasses them. It's better to willingly join now in our terms rather than wait to be annexed forcefully. After all, it will happen, right? Especially once your power grows to the point where walls and soldiers become useless."
Galadriel gazed at her hands as a small singularity materialised. Arianne and Margaery stood in awe at the strange phenomenon, resembling a hole that seemed to absorb everything, even the air itself. However, it disappeared when Galadriel clenched her hand, demonstrating her mastery over it.
"Yes. But if I can achieve what I want without spilling blood, better," Galadriel said with a deep sigh.
"Well, it's going to happen. We are ready for the announcement. I believe you wish it to be in the upcoming festival," Doras said and Galadriel nodded.
"Yes. The creation of the empire and the constitution will be announced during the festival. I have everything arrange," Galadriel smiled at him before deciding to add the most vital part of all of this talk. "Also, I wish to talk about a more… private matter."
"Oh, what is it, your grace?" Doras asked, already aware of the topic she was about to discuss. It was quite amusing how she brought up such a subject, but Doras, or Pandora's Actor, understood the significance of this passionate request from his lady. Perhaps a bit too passionate.
You're way too horny, my lady. Pandora's Actor thought, and if Galadriel could read her creations's mind simply scoffed at him.
"It is true that I can father children with women?" Galadriel whispered a bit too loudly. Sebas coughed slightly and Pandora's Actor wanted to laugh, but they managed to keep their mouths shut.
"It supposed to be a gift giving to you—I don't know how it works, however, I suppose—you could use your imagination," Doras replied.
"My imagination—? That means if I wish for—you know, could I have it?" Galadriel asked, and she was sure that currently, Arianne and Margaery were listing everything in full detail.
"Yes, the limitation in only in your mind. You're a god in flesh, there's nothing stopping you," Doras replied and Galadriel nodded.
"I'm a god," Galadriel whispered. "Thank Magister Doras. I appreciate your guidance so far. And I do hope to see you in a few days. Please enjoy your stay."
"We plant on it, your grace," Doras said.
Sebas and Doras exited the room, leaving Galadriel alone momentarily. The queen then summoned Mya in, causing the queen's lover to smile as Galadriel's smirk appeared to taunt the newcomer.
"I do not like that person," Mya said as Galadriel chuckled.
"Magister Doras? Why not?" Galadriel asked innocently.
"There's something about him that I don't like. It's like he knows more of what he leads on," Mya said and Galadriel could only smile at her.
"That's why he is the First Magister of Lyss. He knows things," Galadriel told Mya as she turned around, while Mya was helping her take off her long gown. Mya looked at the naked back of Galadriel and smiled as she began to kiss her expose neck.
"Mya, remember what I told you? About what if I could, you know," Galadriel whispered, as she could feel Mya's hands on her waist.
"Ah, yes, the magic dick thing, a good joke, isn't it?" Mya replied, smiling.
"Yeah, about that," Galadriel turned around and smile, as Mya raised an eyebrow.
"It's a joke, right? I mean, flying, I get it, you have wings. But a penis. I've seen what's between your legs. You have nothing there that makes me believe you can have a cock," Mya said nervously.
Galadriel giggled. "Well, let's say that I can do it."
"You're joking, my queen. Surely," Mya said as Galadriel decided to tease her further. But first, she had to get Arianne and Margaery out of the closet, so to speak.
"I'll show you, but first let me put the gown away," Galadriel said. Faking ignorance, she walked towards the closet. As she opened it, both Arianne and Margaery fell on the floor, causing a small, fake squeal from Galadriel. "Arianne, Margaery?! What are you doing here?"
Mya's anger build up as she stood in front of both girls, gripping her sword tightly. "Spying?! I know you both weren't to be trusted!"
"No! That's not it," Margaery replied quickly.
"Yes, I know what it looks like, but we are not spying! I just wanted to seduce the queen and bed her. That's not the same as spying," Arianne defended herself. "She is spying, though. You should execute her."
"I am not!" Margaery exclaimed.
Mya growled at them, but Galadriel couldn't help but want to laugh. "Your grace, we should report this. They should be kicked out of King's Landing tonight," Mya said, her tone filled with a hissing urgency. Arianne and Margaery were about to speak, but Galadriel spoke first.
"No. We won't," Galadriel said, as Mya looked at her with a frown. But the moment she saw that naughty smile on the queen's face, she knew exactly what she was thinking about.
"Galadriel," Mya groaned, as Galadriel was already half naked, only wearing her undergarments. "You're not serious, aren't you?"
"Remember what I told you? It's still standing up," Galadriel replied with a smirk..
"I thought you were joking," Mya mumbled.
"Besides, they seemed to already heard a lot," Galadriel said, as she glanced at them. "You saw it all, didn't you?"
Arianne and Margaery nodded slowly as Mya sighed. "Well, there's no point in hiding it."
"No, there isn't. Remember your reaction the first time you saw me do all of that," Galadriel said, as Mya remembered when Galadriel revealed some of their new abilities. Mya, having witnessed her half-sister swim in lava, hatch dragons, and fly with her wings, was not surprised by Galadriel's magical capabilities. It was simply something else she could do.
"I suppose it's too late to change your mind," Mya said with a smile.
"Yes, now get naked," Galadriel instructed as Mya followed her queen's command. Glancing at Arianne and Margaery, who appeared bewildered by the interaction, she continued, "I'm not upset that you both snuck into my chamber or overheard a private conversation. The news was going to be announced soon anyway, so it's not a big deal. However, my power and what I can do, it needs to remain a secret for now. Can I trust both of you?"
Both of them nodded quickly.
"Good, because I would hate having to silence the both of you," Galadriel added and her voice, the cold tone of voice, made both girls freeze. But then quickly, that strange cold stare from the queen banished. "Now, I believe the both of you can help me with a little experiment."
"Experiment?" Arianne asked, as she glanced at Mya's naked body. Truly, she understood why Galadriel was so addicted to her half-sister's body.
"Your grace, could it mean about—that suppose ability?" Margaery mumbled as Galadriel smiled.
"Mm, maybe we are going to find out, isn't that right, my dear Mya?" Galadriel said, as Mya was very excited and quite afraid.
"I don't even know what to expect anymore," Mya replied with a mumble.
Galadriel casually removed her undergarment, revealing her naked body to Mya, Arianne, and Margaery. At first glance, nothing seemed out of the ordinary, as Galadriel appeared very feminine, just like a female would look. However, when she touched her necklaces, the World Item activated, enabling her to select a trait from a demon race. For this particular experiment, she concentrated on the characteristics of a succubus. Having previously tested it with Albedo, Galadriel was familiar with how to utilise the item effectively.
Soon the girls's a strange light enveloping Galadriel, causing a shiver to them. And in a few seconds, Mya, Arianne and Margaery gasped as they saw exactly what Galadriel told them she could do.
"So, what do you think?" Galadriel asked, as the stares of the girls were quite amusing. Well, I was expecting as much. Still, I am for a very long, and amazing night. Galadriel smiled internally.
"Let's start the experiment then, I do hope all of you are ready."
Mya, Arianne and Margaery were in fact, not ready.
