Soon the plane lhad anded at the airport in New York City. Then Mowgli and the others went and saw everything. But the pair of sinister eyes who were watching them were following them everywhere they go. They saw Broadway with a bunch of lights and stuff.

Wow! This is so amazing! Mowgli said taking pictures with his camera.

Then they saw a musical at the theatre.

How wonderful. Said Shanti whispering.

And for dinner they went to a family restaurant.

Best food ever! Baloo said not trying to talk with his mouth full.

By then it was nighttime and they went to a hotel to stay for two weeks. They had their own rooms and they took a bath brushed their teeth put on their pajamas and went to bed.

Well tomorrow we go to school. Mowgli said. I bet we'll make new friends.

I hope we will. Shanti replied.

The next morning it was Monday and it was time for the first day of school. Mowgli and Shanti went to the fifth grade since they were both ten years old and Ranjan went to kindergarten since he was four years old. In the fifth grade Mowgli and Shanti learned about letters and words and they learned about counting with numbers and learning reading books and math. In Kindergarten Ranjan learned the days and months of the year. Then it was time for recess. As the kids went outside Shanti did some jumproping.

Cinderella dressed in yella went upstars to kiss a fella. Shanti said rhyming while jumping. Made a mistake and kissed a snake how many doctors did it take?

And she counted until she got all the way to twenty. Then she went to join Mowgli who was playing with a red ball. As they played catch Shanti threw the ball so far it went over the fence. And on the other side of the fence is another school. It was high school where teenagers were learning outside. And Mowgli went over to get the ball.

Excuse me? he asked. Can I have that ball back please?

And who should hear him but an older beautiful 17 year old girl with ginger hair blue eyes a yellow shirt and blue jeans found the ball and gave it back to them. Then when Mowgli saw the girl he started noticing how beautiful she was and his heart was beating while was still looking at her.

Here you go. The girl told him. I never met you before. My name is April.

M-m-my name is Mowgli. He replied gazing at her blue eyes.

You look cute. April said. Well I better get to class. I'll see you later.

As April went back to class Mowgli who brought back the ball was still crushed.

Uh Mowgli? Shanti asked. Are you feeling okay? You look very weird.

Oh uh I'm okay Shanti. Mowgli said who came to his sences. I got the ball back from this older kid who was uh… Being nice to me.

Okay then. Shanti said. Let's go on the swings.

Good idea! Mowgli replied.

So they went on the swings and then the monkey bars and the jungle gym with the slide. Later they had pizza for lunch at the cafeteria and some apple slices and chocolate milk. Hours later it was time to go home, and Mowgli Shanti and Ranjan were heading off. They decided to have some hotdogs for dinner. As it was starting to get dark soon the kids stayed close together. They saw some strangers who were talking quietly. Just then a mean older teenager came at them.

Hey kid! He said in a gruff voice. Give me your phone.

No. Mowgli told him.

What did you say to me?! the teenager snarled.

I said no. Mowgli replied as his friends hid behind his back.

Look here now. The teenager said grabbing Mowgli by the shirt and getting angry at him. If you don't give me and my pals the phone. I'm gonna have to kill you and your two friends.

Okay okay! Mowgli said. I give up! I will give you my phone.

But just before the teenager could grab the phone a metal star came threw. And the teenagers were beaten up by unknown voices. Then the forces left.

What just happened? Shanti asked feeling confused.

I don't know Shanti. Mowgli replied. I just don't know.
