Baa De Mer Ranch
After a relaxing day at Azure Bay, Lincoln and his friends have left Shalour City and are currently on Route 12 on their way to Courmarine City where Lincoln's next gym battle awaits him.
Lincoln spent his time training his Pokemon in prepartaion for his upcoming gym battle. Soon, his Shelgon got stronger, his Braixen learned Psyshock, his Simipour and Lucario got stronger, his Floette learned Petal Blizzard, and his Farfetch'd learned Night Slash.
Serena wasted no time training her Mareep so she can evolve all the way to Ampharos so she can use the Ampharosite she received from the elderly man the previous day. After training her Mareep, she began to glow.
"Mareep's evolving!" said Serena. Mareep began to glow and change shape; when Mareep stopped glowing, she now stood on two feet, she had a pink body with wool on top of her head and her upper body. Serena takes out her pokedex and points it at her newly evolved Mareep.
"Flaaffy, the Wool Pokemon, and the evolved form of Mareep. Its fluffy fleece easily stores electricity. Its rubbery hide keeps it from being electrocuted." said Serena's pokedex.
"Way to go, Serena." said Lincoln. "When Flaaffy evolves into Ampharos, you can Mega Evolve her."
Tierno was training his Pokemon; as he does, he hears rustling coming from grass. He looks and sees what appeared to be several pink eggs with faces coming out of the grass. He takes out his pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Exeggcute, the Egg Pokemon. Its six eggs converse using telepathy. They can quickly gather if they become separated." said Tierno's pokedex; Tierno turned towards Simisear.
"Want to help me capture this Pokemon, Simisear?" asked Tierno; Simisear nods. "All right; Simisear, use Incinerate!" Simisear fires a beam of fire from his mouth and it hits Exeggcute, dealing super effective damage. Exeggcute fires seeds from their mouths and they hit Simisear, but not dealing much damage.
"Simisear, use Bite!" said Tierno. Simisear leaps at Exeggcute and bites each of them, dealing super effective damage. Tierno takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Exeggcute, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggled for a few seconds until it clicked. "All right! I caught an Exeggcute!"
"Good work, Tierno." said Trevor. Tierno looks up his Exeggcute's information on his pokedex.
"This says Exeggcute's a boy, he knows Barrage, Uproar, Hypnosis, Reflect, Leech Seed, Bullet Seed, Stun Spore, Poison Powder, and Sleep Powder." said Tierno. "He has the Chlorophyll ability which increases his speed when it's sunny out."
After returning their Pokemon to their pokeballs, Lincoln and his friends continue travelling down Route 12.
"I wonder what Pokemon the Courmarine gym leader uses." said Lincoln.
"Whatever this gym leader uses, I'm sure you can handle them, Lincoln." replied Shauna, making Lincoln smile. As they walked, they were approached by a boy.
"Hey; are you guys Pokemon trainers?" asked the boy.
"Yeah." replied Trevor.
"Would any of you like to have a Pokemon battle with me?" asked the boy.
"You bet I would." replied Lincoln, stepping forward. "It'll be a good warm up for my gym battle."
Moments later, Lincoln and the boy stood several yards from each other while Lincoln's friends watched nearby.
"How many Pokemon are we using?" asked Lincoln.
"We'll each use one." replied the boy. He and Lincoln each pull out a pokeball. "Pinsir, go!" The boy throws a pokeball, releasing a brown, bipedal, beetlelike Pokemon with a pair of spiky pincers on top of its head.
"What's that?" asked Shauna, taking out her pokedex and pointing it at the Pokemon.
"Pinsir, the Stag Beetle Pokemon. It grips prey with its pincers until the prey is torn in half. What it can't tear, it tosses far." said Shauna's pokedex.
"Farfetch'd, go!" said Lincoln, throwing Farfetch'd's pokeball, and releasing her. "Farfetch'd, use Swords Dance!" Farfetch'd jumps up and spins, raising her attack strength.
"Pinsir, use Focus Energy!" said Pinsir's trainer; Pinsir becomes surrounded by a red aura.
"Farfetch'd, use Aerial Ace!" said Lincoln. Farfetch'd flies at Pinsir while white streaks of light surrounds her and she rams Pinsir, dealing super effective damage.
"Pinsir, use Revenge!" said Pinsir's trainer. Pinsir leaps at Farfetch'd and rams her with its pincers, landing a critical hit, and knocking Farfetch'd to the ground.
"Farfetch'd, use Slash!" said Lincoln. Farfetch'd slashes Pinsir with her leek, landing a critical hit, and knocking Pinsir to the ground; it struggles to get up.
"Pinsir, use Vital Throw!" said Pinsir's trainer; Pinsir leaps at Farfetch'd.
"Use Agility to dodge it, Farfetch'd!" said Lincoln. Before Pinsir could reach Farfetch'd, she disappears, causing Pinsir to miss. As Pinsir looks around for Farfetch'd, she reappears in the air. "Now use Air Cutter!" Farfetch'd's wings glowed light blue and she flaps them, releasing light blue energy blade from them and they hit Pinsir, dealing super effective damage, and knocking Pinsir out. "Awesome work, Farfetch'd!"
"You were great, Lincoln!" said Shauna.
"That was amazing!" said Serena. Pinsir's trainer returns Pinsir to its pokeball.
"Don't worry, Pinsir; I'm sure one day we'll find a Pinsirite." said Pinsir's trainer. He puts Pinsir's pokeball away and walks to Lincoln. "That was a good battle."
"Thanks." replied Lincoln. Pinsir's trainer gives Lincoln pokedollars before walking away. After Lincoln returns Farfetch'd to her pokeball, the group continues to walk down Route 12 on their way to Courmarine City.
Moments later, they passed by a large fenced clearing; in the clearing were several goatlike Pokemon with brown fur, black horns, and a leafty green mane that went from their necks and down their backs. Trevor takes out his pokedex and points it at one of the Pokemon.
"Skiddo, the Mount Pokemon. Thought to be one of the first Pokémon to live in harmony with humans, it has a placid disposition." said Trevor's pokedex. Some of the Skiddos were walking around while some were eating or drinking out of troughs.
"What is this place?" asked Shauna.
"Hello, children." a woman voice calls out to them. Lincoln and his friends look to see a woman with short blonde hair, wearing a white t-shirt under blue overalls, and brown boots walking over to them.
"Hello, ma'am." replied Lincoln.
"Welcome to the Baa De Mer Ranch." said the woman.
"Is that what this place is?" asked Shauna.
"Yes; people come here to ride Skiddos or try some of our cheese and ice cream, made from Skiddo milk." replied the woman.
"Wow; riding on Skiddos sounds like fun." said Lincoln.
"Should we try it, Lincoln?" asked Shauna.
"I guess my gym battle can wait a little longer." replied Lincoln.
Moments later, Lincoln and his friends were riding on Skiddos down a trail.
"Wahoo!" cheered Lincoln, making Shauna giggle.
"This is so much fun!" said Serena as she rides on a Skiddo. "I wonder if this is how my mom feels when she rides on Rhyhorns."
"Your mom rides Rhyhorns?" asked Tierno.
"Was she a Rhyhorn racer?" asked Trevor.
"Yes." replied Serena. As the group continued riding down the trailer, Lincoln spots what appeared to be a clear stone with a glowing orb in the center. Lincoln stops the Skiddo he was riding on; he jumps off and runs to the stone.
"What's this?" asked Lincoln as he picks up the stone. His friends approached him on their Skiddos at a slower pace.
"Hey, that's a Shiny Stone." said Trevor.
"I need one to evolve my Floette, right?" asked Lincoln.
"Exactly." replied Trevor. Lincoln takes out Floette's pokeball and tosses it, releasing Floette.
"You want to evolve, Floette?" asked Lincoln, holding the Shiny Stone towards her; Floette nods in response. Lincoln touches Floette with the Shiny Stone and she begins to glow and change shape. When she stopped glowing, Floette was taller, has a slender, white upper body, had longer arms and fingers, her lower body was green that resembled a mermaid's tail, and had a bouquet of white flowers around her head. Lincoln points his pokedex at his newly evolved Floette.
"Florges, the Garden Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Flabebe. It claims exquisite flower gardens as its territory, and it obtains power from basking in the energy emitted by flowering plants." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"Congratulations, Lincoln." said Shauna. After Lincoln returns Florges to her pokeball, he climbs back onto the Skiddo he was riding on; the group then continues to ride down the trail. As they were nearing the ranch, they hear a loud commotion coming from it.
"Hey, what's going on?" asked Lincoln.
"Let's check it out." said Serena. The group began riding the Skiddos to the ranch at a quicker pace; when they reach the ranch, they see a bull-like Pokemon with three tails charging at the Skiddos, making them run.
"What is that?" asked Trevor, pulling out his pokedex and pointing it at the Pokemon.
"Tauros, the Wild Bull Pokemon. After heightening its will to fight by whipping itself with its three tails, it charges at full speed." said Trevor's pokedex.
"Bring them over here, Tauros!" they hear a man's voice yell out. Lincoln and his friends look to see a man with a black moustache, wearing a black cowboy hat, a black denim jacket over a red shirt, black jeans, and black boots; they also see an animal trailer through a broken gate of the fence that was hooked to a black pickup truck.
"I think that man is stealing the Skiddos!" said Tierno.
"A rustler!" said Lincoln.
"We have to stop him!" said Serena. Everyone nods before they rode their Skiddos to the ranch; once they arrived, they jumped off their Skiddos and run to the rustler.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing to those Skiddos?!" asked Lincoln, getting the rustler's attention.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" asked the rustler.
"You're stealing them!" replied Shauna.
"Thanks; saves me the trouble of explaining what I'm doing." replied the rustler. "I'm taking all this ranch's Skiddo's and gonna make a fortune from selling some of that delicious Skiddo milk." The rustler then sees the Skiddos Lincoln and his friends rode on. "Thanks for bringing more Skiddos to me."
"If you want Skiddos, just go to Route 5 for some!" said Trevor.
"Why bother with that when there's a whole lot of Skiddos here in one spot?" asked the rustler.
"We're not letting you take those Skiddos!" yelled Lincoln.
"They belong to this ranch!" yelled Shauna.
"Tauros; get over here!" yelled the rustler. Tauros charges and rams through the fence; it reaches the rustler. "I'm giving you brats one chance to get lost!"
"No way!" yelled Lincoln, pulling out a pokeball.
"I guess I'll have to do things the hard way then." said the rustler. His Tauros begins digging into the ground with one of its hooves.
"Shelgon, go!" said Lincoln, throwing Shelgon's pokeball and releasing him. "Shelgon, use Focus Energy!" Shelgon becomes surrounded by a light blue aura.
"Tauros, use Tail Whip!" said the rustler. Tauros charges at Shelgon and whips him with its tail, weakening Shelgon's defense.
"Shelgon, use Heabutt!" said Lincoln. Shelgon leaps at Tauros and rams it, landing a critical hit, and knocking it back. Tauros glares angrily at Shelgon and a red aura surrounds its body.
"Looks like you activated my Tauros' Anger Point ability." said the rustler.
"What's that?" asked Tierno.
"Raises my Tauros' attack strength to the maximum when he receives a critical hit from another Pokemon." replied the rustler. "Tauros, Horn Attack!" Tauros charges at Shelgon and thrusts his horns into Shelgon, dealing damage, and knocking Shelgon back.
"Shelgon, use Dragon Breath!" said Lincoln. Shelgon fires a beam of green energy out of his shell and it hits Tauros, dealing damage; Tauros begins to twitch.
"Tauros is paralyzed." said Trevor.
"Tauros, use Payback!" said the rustler. Unfortunately, paralysis stops Tauros from attacking.
"Shelgon, use Headbutt!" said Lincoln. Shelgon leaps at Tauros and rams him, dealing damage, and sending him flying; he lands on the rustler, pinning him to the ground and making a pokeball fall out of his jacket pocket, and leaving Tauros unconscious.
"Way to go, Lincoln!" said Tierno. The rustler was reaching for his pokeball, but Shauna runs to it and picks it up.
"You're not going anywhere." said Shauna.
"Thank you." said the woman who works at the ranch, running over to them.
"I'll call the police." said a man wearing green coveralls, bandana, and brown boots before running off.
Moments later, a police officer was escorting the rustler who was handcuffed to a police car while carrying Tauros' pokeball. After the police officer drives away with the rustler while another police officer was driving the rustler's truck away, the woman turned towards the children.
"For your help, I would like to treat you all to some ice cream." said the woman.
"Okay." said the group in unison.
Moments later, Lincoln and his friends were enjoying some ice cream cones.
"Man, this is good." said Lincoln.
"I'll say." said Tierno, before he continued licking his ice cream.
Later, the group were leaving the ranch while the woman was waving goodbye to them while they waved to her back.
Lincoln and his friends experienced the thrill of Skiddo riding and prevented a rustler from stealing the Skiddos. Now Lincoln and his friends continue on their way to Courmaine City where Lincoln hopes to win his next gym badge.
