A/N: Starlight Guardian Indigo introduced me to this South Korean animated series called Catch! Teenieping, which some of you may know, so I decided to try my hand at writing a fic about it.

It was an ordinary day in Harmony Town, and Romi Cho returned to the Heartrose Bakery. Well, all pretenses of "normal" went out the window when she entered the bakery and heard an odd sort of "thumping" noise coming from the back. She headed to investigate it, and she found Jun Park in the break room disco dancing to the song "Disco Kicks" by the Boys Town Gang. She widened her eyes at first, but then she smiled.

"Hey Jun, what kind of dance is that?"

"Wha…!?"

Though initially shocked, Jun paused the music using his MP3 player and turned to face Romi.

"Oh, hey Romi!" Jun waved at Romi. "This is called 'disco dancing'! There's even a style of music called 'disco' that goes with it!"

"Really? Can you teach me some moves?"

"Sure! Come on over!"

Romi walked over to Jun, who proceeded to teach her:

"OK, so all disco music is based on a 'four on the floor' beat, meaning a bass drum on every measure like '1, 2, 3, 4'. As long as you time your moves to that count, it's easy to dance. Here's a basic move: first, point your finger up like this…"

Jun pointed his index finger up and to the right, and Romi matched his move.

"Now, point it down like this…"

Jun pointed down and to the left this time, and again, Romi followed his move.

"Now repeat that like 1, 2, 3, 4…"

Romi counted "1, 2, 3, 4" as she attempted to get into the groove, which proved easy enough for her.

"You're good at this." Jun smiled. "Another move you can do is clapping to the beat of the snare drum, which is on the second and fourth measures, like 1, 2, clap." He clapped. "3, 4, clap."

Romi once again followed Jun's moves.

"These are just a few basic steps," said Jun. "You can really get into the music in other ways, like shaking your hips and stomping your feet to the beat. Ready to try it for real?"

"Ready!"

"Then let's boogie!"

Jun put on "Disco Inferno" by The Trammps, and the two of them proceeded to get down. Romi smiled as she got the boogie fever, and it didn't take her long to get the appeal of disco music and disco dancing. As she grooved, she forgot about anything that might have been troubling her, and all she could think about was how free and joyous she felt. Then, while her and Jun were getting down, they were interrupted…

"What are you two doing?"

"Wha…!?"

Jun and Romi were surprised by the appearance of Sarah Song, so Jun paused the music.

"Oh, hey Sarah! Romi and I were just disco dancing?"

Sarah smirked. "Disco dancing, huh? Planning on going to that new club, are you?"

Romi tilted her head slightly. "Wait…there are places you can go to dance to disco music?"

"What, Jun never told you about that discotheque that opened last week?"

Romi shook her head. "No. Jun, is this true?"

"Sure is! I found this lady I like from a local burger joint to go with me! I tried asking Ian and Kyle if they wanted to come too, but Ian says he's busy with friends that day, and Kyle…well, let's just say he didn't take as well to disco dancing as you or I did."

"Seriously, Jun, listen to rap music; it's way better!" said Kyle Wilk.

"Yeah, whatever, Kyle!"

"Kyle, did you know that rap is closely related to disco?" said Sarah.

Kyle let out a short, sharp laugh. "No way! That's totally fiction!"

"No, it's true. I learned that back in the day, they used to have block parties where a DJ would take the drum breaks from soul, R&B, funk and disco records and play them over and over while an MC rapped over them."

Kyle gave Sarah a blank look. "Well."

"Hey, what's all the hubbub about?"

Ian Quinlan had taken a break from his duties to observe the commotion.

"Apparently, Jun has found a new disco dancing partner," said Sarah.

Ian smiled. "Hey Romi, you got into disco music too? Awesome! Are you gonna go to Rainbows as well?"

"Is that what the new disco's called?" asked Romi.

"Yeah!"

Romi tapped her chin. "Well, maybe I can get Maya and Marylou to come along…"

"Sweet!"

"All right, everyone, you've gabbed enough," said Sarah. "Back to work!"

"Right!"

Ian, Kyle and Jun went back to work, while Romi went to check up on the Teeniepings.

"Romi, what was that weird music, chu?" asked Heartsping.

Romi smiled. "Glad you asked! That's called disco music!"

"I love music, lala!" said Lalaping.

"Well, you'll love disco music because you can dance to it!"

"Dancing, huh?" said Dadaping. "I myself do not dance, but I can see the appeal of this, dada."

"Well, I can outdance all of you, gogo!" said Gogoping.

"Why outdance others?" asked Chachaping. "Shouldn't this be happy-go-lucky music, chacha?"

"Chachaping's right," said Romi. "Disco is supposed to make you forget your troubles and help you to have fun!"

Lalaping smiled. "I love fun music, lala!"

Unbeknownst to Romi and the others, Lalaping wasn't the only one who loved fun music. While people were going on about their business in Harmony Town, another Teenieping was on the loose: Discoping, who was colored neon orange and had a black Afro.

"Look at all those people leading such boring lives! I'm gonna make them dance and be happy, disco!"

Discoping took out his magic wand – which had small mirror segments on it much like a disco ball – and shot a spell at a man and a woman. As soon as they got hit by the spell, they started disco dancing, much to their shock:

"Huh? Why am I dancing?" said the man.

"Me too; I can't seem to stop!" said the woman.

Just then, Lena Mikhailova and her friends Cindy Patenaude and Hani Kralova rounded the corner and saw the couple dancing.

"Look at how lame those people look!" Lena laughed at them.

"Yeah, what the heck are they doing?" said Cindy.

"I dunno, but it kinda looks fun!" said Hani.

"Are you serious, Hani?" Lena crossed her arms. "I…"

Just then, Lena and her gang got hit by another one of Discoping's spells, and they too started disco dancing:

"What!?" said Lena. "What's going on with me?"

"I don't know, but I can't stop dancing either!" said Cindy.

"How do I stop this?" said Hani.

Unbeknownst to anybody, two people had witnessed the whole spectacle and were going to get help…

Having finished her homework, Romi decided to help out at the bakery. It was the least she could do considering Sarah was her cousin as well as the bakery's founder. Thus far, it was a routine day. While things weren't exactly selling like hotcakes, there were a decent amount of customers too, some recurring, some new ones. Then, the routine was disrupted when…

"Romi! Romi!"

Maya Pellegrini and Marylou Schrader – Romi's best friends on Earth – burst into the bakery as if the world was going to end, much to Romi's concern:

"Maya? Marylou? What's wrong?"

"Marylou and I were out shopping when we saw Lena and her gang just suddenly start disco dancing!" said Maya.

"We don't know what happened, but we suspect one of those Teeniepings is loose!" said Marylou."

Romi's eyes widened. "A Teenieping? Who…"

Before Romi could answer the question, her little Magic Bell rang just as Maya and Marylou got hit by the spell as well and got disco fever. Romi rushed outside to investigate, and using her Magic Catcher, she searched the surrounding area. After a brief scan, she located Discoping and used her Magic Bell in conjunction with the Magic Catcher to confirm Discoping's identity, after which she ran back to her own Teeniepings.

"Hey, any of you know this Teenieping?" Romi showed the image of Discoping.

"That's Discoping, chu!" said Heartsping. "His spell makes people disco dance!"

Romi nodded. "Then I know just what to do. Come with me, Lalaping!"

After heading to a secluded location, Romi initiated her transformation with Lalaping:

"Princess Melody transformation time!"

And with that, Romi turned into the very star-studded Princess Melody:

"Princess Melody of Joy, for your delight!"

Meanwhile, Discoping was running around using his magic spell to make people disco dance, laughing all the while, only pausing once to dance himself:

"Ha ha! Now the whole world's dancing, disco!"

"Hold it right there, Discoping!"

Princess Melody showed up on the scene, much to Discoping's shock:

"Huh? What are you doing here!?"

"I've come to catch you and take you back home! You can't make people disco dance against their will!"

Discoping smiled. "What's wrong with people dancing? Dancing is a happy thing! Maybe you should try it too, disco!"

Discoping attempted to shoot his magic spell at Princess Melody, but she fired back:

"Princess Melody Magic Wand!"

Princess Melody reflected the spell, but Discoping jumped out of the way and attempted to run. However, she bolted after him.

"No way! You'll never catch me, disco!"

Discoping fired his spell off at random objects and buildings in an attempt to get them to move uncontrollably and throw off Princess Melody, but she was an expert acrobat and managed to dodge everything he threw at her, literally and figuratively. He also attempted to use the landscape to his advantage, but no matter how hard he tried, she was too good at avoiding his tricks. Then, at one point, he saw his reflection in a store window and got an idea:

"Take this, disco!"

Discoping attempted to reflect the spell off the window and hit Princess Melody by surprise, and while she was very briefly shocked, she used her quick reflexes to reflect it right back. This time, the spell collided with Discoping, and he was now getting a taste of his own medicine:

"Oh no! Now I can't stop dancing, disco!"

"All right, Discoping, time to go home! Princess Melody Magic Catcher!"

Princess Melody fired off a magic heart, which captured Discoping and put an end to his disco-fueled madness.

"Teenieping, I gotcha!"

Meanwhile, Discoping commented on being captured:

"Awww, but I wanted everybody to dance! Oh well, at least I can still dance in here, disco."

Having put an end to Discoping's silliness and gotten everybody to stop dancing, Romi headed back to the Heartrose Bakery, where Maya and Marylou were.

"Maya, Marylou, I've been meaning to ask you…"

"What is it?" asked Maya.

"Yeah, what's up?" asked Marylou.

"I was wondering…do either of you want to go to Rainbows disco with me?"

Maya smiled. "Of course! I'd love to go with you!"

Marylou smiled, too. "I mean, I'm not a huge fan of disco music, but if there are cute guys there, I'm in!"

"Great!" Romi gave a thumbs up.

Later on in the day, Romi, Maya, Marylou and the rest of the gang went to Rainbows disco. Romi was wearing a pink Halston dress with pink high-heel shoes, Maya was wearing a bright orange strapless dress with bright orange high-heel shoes, and Marylou was wearing a red bodycon dress with red high-heel shoes. Rainbows wasn't a huge disco, but it had plenty of lighting effects to dazzle clubgoers: a large disco ball hanging over the center of the dancefloor surrounded by three flashing neon rings, and a flashing dancefloor with strobe lights in each of the grid squares, plus four mirrored columns surrounded by square neon rings, one column at each corner of the dancefloor. There were also mirrors all over the walls to reflect the light flashes. As for music, the DJ was spinning "Inside Out" by Peter Griffin. Naturally, everyone was having a great time getting down to the music.

"Thanks for inviting us here, Romi!" said Maya.

"Yeah, this is so much fun!" said Marylou!

"You're welcome, you two! I'm having a great time too!"

The three girls kept getting down to the music. Meanwhile, Romi caught a glance over at the bar area and saw Sarah having a drink with a guy with emerald green hair. The two of them seemed to have a connection with each other. However, she also saw Kyle trying to pick up a well-endowed woman with neon blue hair in a flipped bob, and she turned away from him. Even if not everybody's night was that big a success, Romi could rest easy knowing that another Teenieping had been caught.

Criticism is gold. Negativity and nitpicking are pyrite.
