I walked into Arthur's room. My name's Morgana. I'm the kings ward, though not related by blood. "Lady Morgana!" Arthur's man servant, Merlin said, shocked. "Is everything alright?" He asked. "No. Where's Arthur?" "Merlin, send whoever it is away! I'm already late!" He said as he re-entered the room, seeing me. "Morgana!" I pushed past Merlin, and right into Arthur's arms. "Hey, What's wrong sweetheart?" Merlin shut the door, as I didn't say anything, just held him. "Hey baby, it's okay, Whatever's wrong we can get through it together. Just tell me what's wrong." He whispered sliding his arms around my waist. He was my secret fiancée, and only 3 people knew, My maid, Gwen, Merlin, and the court physician, Gaius. I usually snuck in at night, I never felt safe alone, at night. "I just needed a hug... That's all..." I whispered. Merlin said "Morgana, that's not true..." I said " Shut up Merlin!" "You know I'm always happy to give you hugs." He whispered kissing my head, before he said "But I do have to tend to my duties... I want you to see Gaius too. You don't look well at all."
"I'm fine... just... related to my cycle." I lied. There were no secrets between me and Arthur, or even Merlin. I told Arthur everything, and he'd usually tell Merlin. "Are you sure?" He asked, as I looked to him. "No. But you need to focus on your duties today. I'll be fine..." Merlin whispered something. "What did you say?" Arthur asked, causing Merlin to look to us. "Nothing Sire. We should get going though..." Arthur said "I'm coming." He kissed me gently before saying "Take it easy today, and if you need to, go see Gaius. We'll talk later okay? I love you." I nodded as he left first, with Merlin. I left a few minutes after him, and I could hear the whispers from the servants.
I wandered the halls till I found Gwen. "Gwen... Get me out of here." I begged. "Why? What's going on?" She asked. "MORGANA!" Uther said angrily. "You are dismissed for now Guinevere." HE said angrily. Uther was the King and Arthur's father. I glanced to Gwen, and mouthed "Get Arthur or Merlin." Gwen nodded, running off. "How dare you!?" Uther yelled. "How dare I what?!" I shouted back. "How dare you sneak into my sons room and try to seduce him!"
My heart stopped, as I said "I wasn't!" "You were! GET OUT! GET OUT OF CAMELOT AND FAR AWAY FROM MY SON!" He yelled. "No. I won't be exiled for something I didn't..." Just then I felt a fist against my chin and I fell. "Morgana!" Merlin said, leaning down, as the world went black.
~Merlin's Prov~
I picked her up gently. "Uther Pendragon, you will pay for this." I threatened, before I carried Morgana to Gaius's. "Merlin! What happened?!" Gwen said frantic. "Get Arthur tell him Morgana's unconscious, and I have her at Gaius's." Gwen nodded and ran off, while I got Morgana into Gaius's. "Gaius! I need you!" I shouted as he came over. "My God. What happened?" He asked, as he helped me lay her on the exam table. "I only know a little. Gwen was supposed to be with her... But Uther dismissed Gwen before she could hear anything... So I don't know what was said, but Gwen came to get me or Arthur. I decided to go, since Arthur was training, when I got there, I saw Morgana fall... and she blacked out when I got to her... I saw Uther's hand in a fist... I think he punched her in the jaw... Or so I assume based on how that bruise is forming... I picked her up, and turned to leave, but I told Uther he would pay for this, then I told Gwen to get Arthur..." Gaius said "Good. I'll examine her, you go watch out for Arthur." I nodded going to the door, just as it opened.
"Merlin! Where is she? What the hell happened?" Arthur said breathlessly. "I don't know but, when I got there, she had already collapsed, and blacked out... She did hit her head... She has a bruise forming on her jaw. The only thing I can deduce for that, along with seeing Uther's hand in a fist... is he punched her in the jaw... Arthur I'm sorry, if I had gotten there sooner..." Arthur placed a hand on my shoulder. "Merlin. Stop. I don't want you blaming yourself. Okay? You got her here. That's honestly all I care about. I'll deal with my father, after I make sure she's okay... What did you say to him?" I drew a sharp breath in, before I said "I said 'Uther Pendragon, you will pay for this.' and nothing else." "Good." he said, almost proudly. "Your majesty. Merlin Come here." We went over, and Arthur said "How is she?"
Gaius said "She's weak and tired, has a slight concussion, a broken arm and leg, a giant bruise on her stomach, which I'm very concerned about, and a concussion..." Arthur sat by her head, stroking her face lovingly. "Why are you concerned about the bruise on her stomach?" I asked. Gaius looked between me and Arthur before he said "She's pregnant, my lord." Arthurs face went from calm and collected to anger and fury in less than a second. "Is the baby okay?" he asked trying to calm his anger down. "Yes, Thanks to Merlin, but the baby can't survive another attack like this Arthur." I saw Arthur take a deep calming breath before he said "Can she stay here till she wakes?" "I would actually prefer that." I smiled, as Arthur kissed Morgana's head promising to be right back. "Merlin, Come with me. Gaius, If she should wake before we get back, assure her we'll be right back" He nodded, as Me and Arthur left.
~Morgana's Prov~
When I woke up I looked around. "Arthur? Merlin?" "Ahh, My dear, How are we feeling?" Gaius asked coming over, and sitting beside me. "I want Arthur." "I'm here." He said as he came over, smiling wide when he saw me wide awake. "How are you feeling sweetheart?" I felt him sit next to me, which caused me to climb into his lap, and I cuddled into his chest. "I feel like crap." I confessed. "Well you look beautiful." Arthur stated matter of factually. Gaius said "Well, you have a concussion, and a broken arm and leg, and a giant bruise on your stomach... Which I'm concerned about." "Why? Could it prevent me from getting pregnant?" Gaius looked to Arthur, who nodded. "Morgana, you're about 3 months pregnant." I stiffened and said "Is the baby okay?" "The baby's a little weak, given what you've been through, it's understandable. But the baby should be okay, as long you rest for the next few weeks, letting Merlin, Arthur and Gwen help you." Arthur said "I'll make sure she does." Gaius smiled to him and I said "Thank you... Can we go now?" Gaius said "Yes. I do want to check on you in a week. I can come to you. Sound like a plan?"
"Thank you." Arthur helped me up, wrapping an arm around my waist. "Morgana! How are you feeling?" Merlin and Gwen asked, coming over to us. "Better." I said leaning on Arthur. "We're just going to get her up to bed. She need's her rest." Arthur whispered. "I am tired." I confessed. Gwen, Merlin, me and Arthur all finally made it into the castle but that's when his father stopped us. "What are you doing?!" Arthur said angrily.
"Preventing this harlot..." Arthur growled angrily. "Gwen get her to my room and do NOT let her try to find me." I carefully left my darling's safe hold, and over to Gwen. We walked to Arthur's room, in silence, once inside she helped me change to a nightgown. "Tell me the truth Morgana, are you alright?" I shook my head and said "No... I feel terrible. Dizzy, lightheaded, Nauseous..." "All of that could be from the punch and fall..." She whispered, as I sat on the bed. "I'm also pregnant..." I whispered, causing Gwen to look worried. "Baby's fine for now..." I whispered, as the door opened. Gwen and I looked up, and I got a big grin on my face. "Hey." Merlin and Arthur said as Arthur sat beside me, on the opposite side of Gwen. "Thank you, Guinevere." Arthur whispered. "Nothing to thank Sire. How did it go with your father...?" She replied earning a heavy sigh from Arthur.
"He was about to yell at me., but, I told him we were already married, so technically there wasn't anything he could do about it. That only made him angrier, But at that point I didn't care, I was doing right by my family, and you and baby are safe. That's all I care about." I leaned on him. "But we're not married yet..." "I know. I got leave of absence from duties tomorrow, so a) I could take care of you two." He said kissing my head while his hand rested lovingly on my small baby bump. "and b) I was thinking about breaking you out of here for a little trip to the town... Maybe to the church? Gwen and Merlin would obviously come with us." I smiled wide and said "Arthur Pendragon you better not be teasing me about this!" "I am not. What do you say?" He replied. I said "I'm so in. Gwen? Merlin?" "We're in too. We actually wanted to go to town, anyways tomorrow, and were going to ask if we could get a leave of absence too." I smiled to Arthur, as I yawned. "One second sweetie." He went and changed with Merlin's help, before he curled in beside me. "We'll meet you here in the morning." They said, before leaving. I snuggled into Arthur's chest, and mumbled. "I love you." as I drifted to sleep.
In the morning I woke at the same time as Arthur, who kissed my head. "good morning, my love." "Morning." I said, sitting up. "How are you feeling?" "I'm okay." Just then Merlin and Gwen came in and helped us get dressed. "Morgana, are you sure you feel well enough?" Gwen asked, as Arthur came over and said "She's right, you don't look good." I said "I'm fine." We went to the town and to the church, where we got married, with just Gwen and Merlin as our witnesses, and a surprising twist, when we witness Gwen and Merlin's marriage. After we left the church, we walked through the town. "Hey guys, I need to stop..." I said leaning on a fence to one of the shops. Arthur turned, and said "Morgana? Gwen! Merlin! Hold up" They came right over and said "Is she okay?" Arthur looked to me worriedly. "Just a few minutes." I whispered. "I found him!" The knights called. "Arthur, Thank God! Your fathers taken ill! We need you back at the castle!" "Arthur, go! We'll get Morgana home!" Merlin Said but I was already leaning on Arthur as we went right back to the castle. "We're almost there." He said sweetly. We finally reached the castle, and entered, going to his father's room. I said "Wait... Honey, I should probably wait out here..." "Are you sure?" Arthur said, as Merlin came over and said "Gwen and I will take her to your room." "Yes, please. I do want to lie down, I don't feel well." Arthur kissed my head and said "Thank you... Don't leave her." "Yes, sire." Merlin and Gwen took me to Arthur's and mine's room. "Merlin, can you please get me a bucket? I feel sick." I asked, as he got a bucket, as I threw up. "Gwen, go fetch Gaius. I don't like how bad she's throwing up... Tell him, she's throwing up blood. If you can just let Arthur know that'd be great. Tell him, I'm with her, and I sent for Gaius, and to stay with his dad!"
I continued to throw up and started crying. "Morgana, it's alright. We're getting Arthur." Merlin whispered, as Gaius examined me. Arthur came in and said "I'm here. Sweetheart, I'm here." I laid back against him. "Thank God. That's the first time she's stopped vomiting since she got home. I tried everything. Evey Gaius..." Gaius, said "Alright, Arthur I need to talk to you." Arthur kissed my head, and stepped aside, with Gaius.
~Arthur's Prov~
"Gaius, What's wrong?" I said softly, as Gaius said "I'm worried about the vomiting, and that it was accompanied by the blood... Did you go out of the castle, today at all...?" I said "yes. We went to the chapel, to get married, with Gwen and Merlin. I swear, I didn't think it'd be a problem... I just wanted to not have lied to my father... I told him we were already married..." I looked to my wife. "Hey, look at me." I looked at him and he said "You didn't do anything wrong. But upon examination, I noticed she has a bad infection..." I said "What are the chances she and the baby will be okay?" Gaius said "Honestly, I'm worried about her, and the child."
"What does she need to do to get better?" "I'm going to give her, some herbs to help treat the infection, and hopefully save the baby. But the baby might not survive, if we don't..." I looked to Morgana, and said "Let's do it...I know the chance, of the baby surviving, is not high even with the herbs... Right now, Morgana is my top priority... I want them both well, I do." I sighed. "I'll go get it." "Wait Gaius. Is it contagious?" I asked, and said "Yes. I'll bring herbs to prevent you, Merlin and Gwen from getting it." "Thank you." I went to Morgana's side.
~Morgana's Prov~
I laid on his chest once he sat beside me. "Arthur." I whispered. "Hey. It's going to be okay. You're going to be just fine." Arthur whispered. "What's wrong with me?" I asked. "I'm sorry... I failed you as a husband. I knew we shouldn't have left the castle. You got an infection... You got it when we went out... Honey I'm so sorry. It was my dumb idea... But don't worry, Okay. Gaius is getting herbs for all of us, you will be fine." I said "What about the baby?" He said "Honey, I love you okay? I'm going to make sure, you and the baby come out of it, stronger than ever. I swear. Gaius is optimistic the baby will be okay, especially if we do the herbs. But without the herbs, there is no chance of survival for the baby..." I said "Okay..."
