Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters
"Hundreds of years ago, the world was in a time of warring nations. But it was not between men, but monsters. Some were seen as powerful gods, others as malefic devils. Both sides were feared and respected by the people who were affected by their battle. The monstrous creatures were often depicted within their ancient folklore, seen as Dragons, Leviathans, Behemoths, Titans.
But when the Gods and Devils fell, the world felt a sense of peace for the first time in ages. The lands recovered, and started to thrive again. Though peace has been restored, war is a common language for all beings. Mortals began fighting amongst themselves. Different families and clans that lived amongst the gods and devils during the previous war.
Each nation represented the god or devil that ruled their land, and fought for their land for the name of peace, or conquest. Two rivals have fought for endless years, for they were fiercer rivals than the Lin Kuei, and the Shirai Ryu combined. Only one of these clans would survive the war that is to come."
(1445, Japan)
On a stormy night in Ginza, Japan. A noble family was helping Lady Azusa as she was in labor with her first born child. She screamed in pain as the maidens helped her. "It's okay, Lady Azusa. You're doing good. Just keep breathing." The maiden advised her as Azusa struggled to give birth.
"It hurts! It hurts so much!" She cried out as she tried to push the child out. The maidens worked desperately to help her as she tried to push the child out. Whimpering in pain, Azusa screamed out as she pushed the child out. The maidens saw the child coming out as one reached in and pulled the child out. Azusa gasped as she panted harshly, laying back on the bed as she caught her breath and heard the cries of her first born child.
The baby cried out as he was held by the maiden who cleaned him up of fluids and blood from Azusa, she wrapped a cloth around the baby. "Lady Azusa… it's a boy." She told her as she showed her her son.
Azusa opened her eyes and looked at her son, seeing him cry as she smiled warmly at him. "Ohhh, look at him. He's beautiful." She said as she reached out to him. "Let me hold him." She pleaded as the maiden handed the baby to her, Azusa held her son in her arms as she smiled at him. "Aww, look at you. Crying out so strongly. You have the heart of a warrior." She told him.
"The master isn't home yet, have you thought of a name?" A Maiden asked her.
She smiled at her son as she caressed his head. "I have… I have thought of a name for him." She said as she held him. "Gojira…" She said as the maiden's eyes widened upon hearing it, his eyes soon opened, revealing golden amber eyes. "Gojira Tanaka…" She announced the name.
"That name, milady… it means "God Incarnate". Are you sure that's wise…? Naming it after the very god that once ruled these lands?" A maiden asked.
"I'm sure." She assured them as she looked into Gojira's eyes. "He is strong, and he will be a great leader." She declared as Gojira smiled at her and nuzzled against her chest, she smiled at him as she held him in her arms. "Rest now, Gojira… rest, and grow strong." She told him as she watched the future of their people sleep.
(1463, 18 years later)
Growing up, Gojira had grown into a strong young man. He had a happy childhood, a man given a strong body and a handsome face. What more could a mortal desire or deserve? One day, he met a beautiful woman, Noriko. She was 17, and she was from another noble family who respected the Tanaka Family. He and Noriko spent time together, getting to know one another. As time went by, they grew close. Gojira couldn't imagine his life without her.
But one day, his village was attacked by an unknown army of warriors, led by a powerful warlord who sought to annihilate the entire village. Everyone he ever took care of, everyone he ever loved, they were being ruthlessly slaughtered by the army, and he was trying to escape with Noriko.
He ran with her as he tried to escape, she panted heavily as she held onto his hand. "Gojira, slow down!" She cried out.
"We can't slow down, Noriko, do you want to live?" He asked her as he ran with her as he saw one of the soldiers cross his path, he took off his helmet, showing a monstrous face as he snarled. Noriko screamed in terror as the soldier went to kill them, but Gojira took a katana and blocked his attacks. He paired each of his attacks till he slashed against his neck, decapitating his head.
The soldier's body collapsed as more came to kill them, he parried each of their attacks to protect Norika as he slashed one's throat open, he cut the limbs off the second soldier and stabbed him through the heart. The third soldier went to cut his leg, but Gojira blocked it as he kicked him in the face and sliced him down the middle, splitting him in half as he stabbed the last soldier in the face. He pulled the katana from the soldier's face as Noriko grabbed his arm. "We have to go!" She exclaimed and ran with him.
As they ran, the warlord watched from the hill as his eyes glowed red. He grinned behind his mask as he reached back and pulled out a bow along with an arrow. He held out the bow and pulled the arrow along the string, aiming it at Gojira. But his focus was aimed towards Noriko, he released the arrow as it launched towards her. The arrow flew through the air and descended towards Noriko and pierced her through her leg.
(Cue Music: Godzilla -1.0 Elegy Theme)
She cried out in pain from it and fell to the ground as Gojira had made it across the bridge but turned back seeing it. "Noriko!" He cried out and ran to try and save her, but she used a form of magic to make the water rise between him and her, preventing him from trying to save her. "Noriko… Noriko, lower the water!" He tried to break through it.
She could feel her blood gushing from her leg as she looked at him. "G-Gojira…" She tried to speak as she touched his arm. "It's too late for me. I'm not going to make it." She told him with tears in her eyes.
"No, don't say that, Noriko. We can make it together, please!" Gojira pleaded.
Hearing his plea, Noriko smiled sadly as she looked at him while the warlord and his followers slowly approached like a dark shadow. "Promise me one thing, Gojira. Promise me… that you will not seek revenge…" She pleaded as he looked at her. "It will only bring you death. Promise me…" She begged.
Tears filled his eyes as he held her, he closed his eyes, making his tears flow down his face. "I… I swear…" He said to her, trying to restrain his anger.
She smiled at him, knowing he would not. "Gojira… I love you…" She confessed as she turned away, facing the dark army as she saw the warlord step forward. Gojira's eyes widened as he tried to breach the water barrier to save her, but her magic was strong, she didn't want him to get hurt. The warlord smirked as he aimed one last arrow at her, causing Gojira's eyes to widen as tears flowed down his face.
The warlord soon fires the arrow as it flies towards her, piercing her chest and through her heart. Gojira's eyes widened upon seeing her blood spray onto the barrier in front of him. "Noriko…!" He cried out as he watched her life slowly fade away, his heart shattered into a million pieces as he watched her fall to the ground, dead. He didn't want to believe she was gone, but when he looked at the arrow in her chest, he looked towards the warlord. He stood with his soldiers as his eyes were highly visible, blood red and devilish. He raised his bow as he let out a mysterious roar, making all his soldiers roar with him.
Gojira watched it happen, and he knew… the warlord wasn't human. He watched the warlord leave with them as the barrier kept him from reaching Noriko. Anger and rage filled Gojira's heart as his eyes narrowed at the monster who took his beloved away. His eyes began to glow neon blue, scales started to form around his body. He growled and started yelling, he screamed in rage as fangs grew in his mouth as he inhaled deeply. "SKREEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNGK!" He roared out, declaring that the warlord and his followers will pay for what they did.
(1945, Odo Island)
482 years later, Japanese soldiers were stationed on Odo Island, but they were more than just ordinary soldiers. They were laughing together as they revealed themselves to be the same monsters that invaded Gojira's village. "You should have seen the village elder, he was scared stiff, I think he shit himself!" He cackled with glee.
"If he had, his meat won't be so satisfying." Another soldier said as he laughed hysterically.
"And let's not forget the women." One of the soldiers mentioned as he hummed in delight. "They were so satisfying, they made the old century concubines look like nothing." He chuckled as his comrades laughed together.
"Very soon, our lord will rule the world. Once the Americans are settled with that is." The Leader declared as he chuckled with his friends, but suddenly the alarm went off as he and his soldiers looked around. "What's going on?!" He asked.
"We don't know, someone's infiltrated the island barrier!" A soldier called out.
"SKREEEEEOOOOONGK!" A roar was heard in the darkness as the soldiers looked around.
The leader looked around and turned towards the spotlight tower. "Light up the beach!" He ordered as the soldier turned on the searchlight and searched the beach and the jungle, but when the light shined on the trees, a blue flame shot at the spotlight and destroyed it along with the soldier.

The soldiers gasped in horror from it as they turned to where the flame came from. Out from the trees, a monstrous form charged towards them revealing himself as Gojira as he snarled at the soldiers. "OH SHIT!" One of the soldiers screamed as he shot at him, but the bullets bounced off his hardened scales as he snarled and rammed the soldier down and raised his leg, stomping down on his head and crushing it. He turned towards the other soldiers as his eyes glowed blue and he snarled viciously at them and charged, the soldiers shot at him, but their bullets were ineffective as he used his claws and slashed at them.
He tore through their flesh, ripping open their torsos and clawing their faces off as he attacked them relentlessly. He felt a shot against his back and he turned around, seeing a soldier as he roared and swung his tail, smacking his head off his shoulders as he turned and grabbed another soldier with his claws and ripped him in half. The leader watched with horror as he whimpered with fear.
Gojira meanwhile continued to tear apart and mangle the other soldiers, killing them out of hatred and revenge for what their lord did to his village. Once he finished the last of the remaining soldiers, he growled and turned towards the leader, who panicked in fear as he backed away. But Gojira walked towards him immediately as the leader tried to run, but his leg was broken as Gojira grabbed him. "Wait! Wait, please! Don't kill me! I beg of you!" He pleaded.
Growling at his sniveling state, Gojira kept a tight grip on his head. "What about my village…?" He asked him as the soldier glanced at him. "When my people pleaded for mercy, did you or any of your kind grant it…?" He asked him as the soldier's eyes widened in horror.
"I-It's you…!" He panicked.
"Yes… I am the last of the Tanaka Clan." He informed him as he growled viciously. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna kill you. I need a messenger, and you will do just fine. Tell your master that if he ever sets foot on this island, he will be next." He threw him down to the ground, seeing him crawl away. "GO! And make sure he gets my message!" He told him as he growled viciously as the soldier ran for his life, while he walked to the remains of his victims and dragged them to set up some scarecrows.

Just as he was setting them up, thunder rumbled in the sky, and behind him as he could feel the lightning strike and he turned sharp, snarling as he saw Raiden, the Protector of Earthrealm stand before him. "Gojira Tanaka, the last of a village that was ruthlessly slaughtered. Your actions here would shame your ancestors." He told him.
But Gojira sneered as he stood down. "And what would you know…? You don't know what these soldiers are…" He removed one of the soldier's masks, revealing a monstrous form as Raiden's eyes widened as Gojira placed the dead soldier on a spike and stood it up as a scarecrow. "Does that give you more clarity of why I did this?" He asked as he walked towards the other remains.
Observing the dead soldiers, Raiden turned towards Gojira and followed him. "What are they…?" He asked him.
"Ghidorah's elite demon troopers." Gojira explained while setting up a scarecrow. "Created from his own blood, born to do nothing more than to dominate his enemies." He informed him while setting up the last scarecrow as a warning to anyone who'd dare reach his island. "And you will be amongst them if you don't leave." He warned him.
"I assure you, I am not one of his. I am Raiden, the protector of Earthrealm. I came here in hopes to recruit you." He offered.
But a small chuckle as he turned towards him. "Is that right…?" He asked as his dorsals began to glow and his tail smacked on the ground. "Well… give me one good reason as to why I should join you?" He asked him.
"Because I know what you have lost, and how long you have suffered. The pain of loss is great, even to noble warriors such as yourself." Raiden explained as he stepped up. "Which is why I am here to offer you a path forward." He told him.
The glow within Gojira's dorsals faded as his plates diminished along with his tail and scales. "A new path…? There is no new path for me, only what I have chosen." He told him.
"Ask yourself. Even if you defeat Ghidorah's forces, how many more will take their place?" Raiden asked him as Gojira raised a brow curiously. "Even with your power, it is only a fraction of what you possess." He informed him.
"This power… what I currently have, how do you know so much about it?" Gojira asked him.
Raiden stood there calmly as he looked at him. "Because I am the God of Thunder." He told him.
Hearing his title, Gojira snickers and chuckles as he turns away and laughs. "Sure you are." He said as he walked off, only to get blasted by a lightning bolt, causing him to stop as he turned around slowly, seeing Raiden holding a ball of lightning in his hand. "Okay, you have my attention." He told him as he turned to face him. "But you're not going to drag me into whatever war you're facing." He told him.
"Not a war. A tournament." Raiden told him as Gojira looked at him curiously. "It begins once per century. I am gathering Earthrealm fighters who would fight for their realm. You, being someone that has lived for 482 years, you would jump at the opportunity to fight." He told him.
"It's not my fight." Gojira declared as he walked off.
"It may not be your fight, but it may very well be everyone else's." Raiden informed him as he watched him leave. "Your father once fought in the tournament, and survived." He told him as Gojira stopped in his tracks and looked towards him surprised. "I am sorry that you lost him in the feudal era. But if you want to honor his memory, fight for what he believed in." He advised him.
Staring at the Thunder God, Gojira knew that he was right. But one thing remained the same. "This isn't my fight, no matter what you say." He told him as he proceeded into the jungle, to seek his solitude away from all who come to his island.
Raiden watched him venture into the dense jungle as he lowered his head. "I hope that in time… you will reconsider." He prayed as he raised his hand, causing lightning to form around him as he vanished from Odo Island.
(1946, Bikini Atoll)
A year had passed since the incident on Odo Island, and Gojira had traveled to the Bikini Atoll in case Raiden wanted to try and recruit him again. But when he arrived on the Bikini Atoll, he wasn't alone. Ghidorah was waiting for him, wearing the same armor he had worn since 1463. A malefic grin spread across his face as he looked at him. "Well, well… how the young warrior has grown into a man." He chuckled.
But this only made Gojira narrow his eyes at him. "483 years… and you're still a sick twisted animal." He said with a growl.
"Still sour because I shot your woman, and not you?" Ghidorah asked as Gojira snarled angrily. "I did it to awaken your power." He explained as he circled him. "But in its current state… it is nothing compared to what I possess." He declared.
Growling at his enemy, Gojira soon heard the sound of sirens as he turned out, seeing the atomic bomb that was developed by the Americans as he turned towards Ghidorah with a shocked expression. "What is this…?!" He asked him.
"Either your death, or your ascension." Ghidorah chuckled as he circled around him. "You see, I anticipated that you would be here, and that the humans would set up everything for the nuclear bomb testing. So, the question is… will you survive this test…? Or… will you perish from intense radiation exposure?" He asked him with his malefic grin.
"You bastard!" Gojira charged at him and threw a hard right hook as Ghidorah avoided his strike, he parried every punch that Gojira threw at him, landing a few strikes against the young warrior as he kicked him hard in the chest, knocking him down. Gojira rolled across the beach till he rolled onto his feet and slid back, he glared as his dorsal plates grew out of his back and his tail sprouted. He snarled as he charged up his aether breath and blasted him, Ghidorah narrowly avoided it and unleashed a stream of electricity, blasting him with a gravity beam.
Gojira was still unleashing his aether breath as Ghidorah's gravity beams pushed him back and knocked him down as he canceled his attack and shielded himself from the gravity beams. He used his tail to knock a rock towards him, it smacked against Ghidorah's face, causing him to stop his assault as Gojira charged towards him and rammed him with his shoulder. The King of Terror slid back from the tackle as he formed a pair of twin tails and swung them, smacking Gojira against the face, leaving cuts across his face.
He snarled from it and glared at him as his wounds slowly healed, Ghidorah grinned as he stood up and spread his wings. "You got two minutes, little warrior. Two long minutes, are you going to finish this fight and get blown up?" He asked him.
"If that bomb goes off, and I die? I'm taking you with me!" He snarled and attacked him, Ghidorah charged at him and struck at him. Gojira parried his attacks and left a few strikes against his torso as he landed hard kicks against his ribs. He swung his tail and coiled it around his neck and threw him towards a nearby palm tree, slamming him against it and punching him in the face, causing Ghidorah to bleed from his mouth.
Roaring in pure rage, Gojira continued to pummel him with relentless fury. Ghidorah even tried to parry his attacks as he punched him against the face, landing several hard punches against him to throw him off balance. But this further infuriated Gojira as his rage only grew. He caught Ghidorah's next punch and threw him over his shoulder, slamming him against the ground as he went to stomp his head in.
The King of Terror rolled away as Gojira's foot slammed into the ground. Seeing Ghidorah get back up, he swung his tail and smacked it against his side and forced him to stumble across the beach. He charged his aether breath and unleashed it against him, landing a direct hit against chest. Ghidorah felt it pushing him back as he slid across the beach, he struggled but fell back as he slammed against the sand.
Gojira rushed over and punched him against the face, to keep him from getting up as he unleashed his rage against him. Ghidorah felt the harsh punches as he soon felt Gojira's hands wrap around his neck, choking him to try and end his life before the bomb could go off. But he heard Ghidorah chuckling through being choked as he looked at Gojira. "All this… for a human." He said as Gojira tightened his grip.
He growled as his eyes glowed. "I loved Noriko, and you murdered her!" He snarled at him.
"And I loved Egypt, slaves built and died for a greater empire. Japan was no different!" Ghidorah said as he secretly reached behind him.
"And I will kill you before that bomb even detonates! And you will have no empire to return to!" He yelled but saw Ghidorah pull out a trigger that made his eyes widen.
He smirked at Gojira as he raised it up. "I think I'll humor you… let us both die together, and see which of us survives." He suggested as he held up the detonator with a sadistic grin. "Only one of us is walking away from this, so say your prayers while you can." He told him.
Gojira glared at him as his eyes and dorsal plates glowed furiously, knowing he was serious as he pinned him. "Then go ahead, I'm not afraid. You want to know why…?" He asked him as Ghidorah smirked. "Because I have nothing left to lose. You took everything from me." He reminded him.
"I sure did." Ghidorah replied as he pressed the button on the detonator, upon pressing it, the bomb exploded as the wave moved towards them with intense heat and power that struck them both. Gojira let out a painful roar when the blast hit him, burning his flesh and skin as his skin hardened. While Ghidorah sprouted his wings and shielded himself with them to protect him from the blast.
The area was surrounded with dust and debris from the explosion as the massive mushroom cloud shot towards the sky. Within the vicinity of the explosion, Ghidorah unshielded himself as his wings flapped as he turned to what remained of Gojira. He smirked seeing he was trapped within his charred casing and approached him. "Victory cannot be achieved, unless you wield the greatest power to conquer your enemies. Your father should have learned that long ago. Now you can join him and your beloved in the Netherrealm." He told him with a dark chuckle as he flew away, leaving him where he stood.
As Ghidorah left, the charred skin around Gojira slowly fell apart, but a blue glow slowly began to emerge through the cracks as it grew brighter. The charred skin began to crack further till it exploded from within, blasting the charred skin away. Smoke filled the area as Gojira stumbled a bit, his body silhouetted, but appeared more masculine, his dorsals much larger than previously, and his power began to skyrocket. His eyes opened as he growled furiously. "SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNGK!" He roared out, his rage amplified for the one who made him into a monster.
(2025, Odo Island)
79 years after the Castle Bravo Nuclear test, Earthrealm had faced an unexpected moment in history. The merger of realms when Shinnok tried to resurrect The One Being. But his plans to destroy all the realms was foiled when Liu Kang defeated him with the help of his allies. He used the power he had been given by the Elder Gods to separate all the realms, freeing Kitana's realm, Edenia. Peace had once again been restored to Earthrealm and all other realms.
But Shao Kahn and many of his followers had gone into hiding, even trying to infiltrate Earthrealm's barrier. The Earthrealm defenders joined together to keep the peace in Earthrealm. They ventured to Odo Island to investigate a dimensional tear that was detected by the Outworld Investigation Agency. They traveled by helicopter to the island, to investigate it. Growing curious, Kitana looked towards Jax who was leading the investigation. "What do we know about this island?" She asked.
"Only that it was once a military repair station for planes or tanks back in 1945. It had the best mechanics, till one night they were found dead. Not just dead, massacred. They were found on stakes to look like scarecrows." Jax explained.
"Sheesh, did Vlad the Impaler come back from the dead and go psycho on them or something?" Johnny asked him.
"No one knows why anyone would do that. The incident was classified as an American attack on the Odo Island facility, but I checked the military records. There were no American landing parties ever reported." Sonya informed him.
"Is it possible the report might have been falsified?" Sub-Zero asked them.
"Hard to say, but if Outworlders are secretly using Odo Island as a hiding place to enter Earthrealm, we need to close the portal to prevent more from coming through." Liu Kang told them.
Johnny meanwhile leaned back with his hands behind his head. "Well, the sooner we get this job finished, the happier I'll be having a peaceful time in Earthrealm." He declared.
"Easy there, cowboy." Sonya told him as she playfully nudged him. "You're still under my watch, so no relaxation till we get the job done, got it?" She asked him with a teasing tone.
He chuckled in response, knowing she'd kick him in the balls if he didn't answer correctly. "Yes ma'am." He replied.
"Okay everyone, we're landing in 13 seconds. We're gonna scan the vicinity for any radiation. Once it's clear, we move out." Jax informed them as the helicopter descended to the landing field where Japanese planes would set down.
Once the plane touched down, the pilot activated the geiger counter to check the area for any traces for radiation. "Area's clear, you are good to go ladies and gentlemen." The pilot informed them as he opened the back doors to let the team out.
Once everyone could get out, Kitana raised her arms and stretched as she let out a soft moan. "How can anyone stand this mode of transportation?" She asked as she looked around the island. "This island… it's so beautiful." She complimented the view.
"At least it's not Shang Tsung's death island." Johnny said while stretching.
"Zip it, Johnny." Sonya ordered as she walked ahead.
Liu Kang stepped close to Kitana and observed the island. "This island does have some unique semblance compared to Shang Tsung's island. It feels more spiritual in comparison." He said while examining the area. "Lord Raiden once told me of his last excursion to this island, and said it was to recruit a warrior that has been around since 1463." He explained.
"1463? That must've been 562 years ago. How could an Earthrealmer survive that long?" She asked him.
"I'm not sure. But it's not uncommon." He said as Scorpion appeared before them. "Scorpion, glad you could make it." He told him.
"Better to teleport here than to use that method of transportation." He replied as he referred to the helicopter, he soon turned his attention to the island. "How much do you know about this island?" He asked them.
"Only that an entire crew was butchered like animals, and put on display for all to see." Johnny chimed in.
"It was used as a fear tactic to ward off approaching ships. Whoever lived on this island wanted to be left alone." Scorpion surmised as he walked with the team.
"So someone made this place their private island?" Johnny asked as he chuckled. "I can get that, I mean I tried to get my own private island for seasonal vacations. But it was too much to pay for, and I wouldn't kill to keep this place to myse-" Before he could continue, he saw impaled bodies of Outworlders displayed at the edge of the jungle "HOLY SHIT!" He exclaimed.
The bodies of soldiers, Tarkatan's and Zaterran's were placed on spikes for all to see. Though he was used to the violence, this graphic scene was a little too much for Johnny as he ran to a bush and vomited behind it as Sonya examined the remains. "Jesus… whoever did this wanted to make a personal message." She surmised.
Checking the remains, Sub-Zero determined how long they've been dead. "Judging by the rot of the intestines, I'd say they've been here overnight." He suggested.
"In other words, they're still fresh." Kitana surmised, suddenly a noise was heard from behind the bushes as everyone turned towards it to see who it was.
Stepping out was an Outworld soldier, stained in the blood of his comrades. "By the Elder Gods, I thought it came back." He said feeling panicked.
"Calm yourself, soldier." Kitana ordered as she gripped her steel fans. "What happened?" She asked him.
"It… it was a monster… it looked like a man, but it changed its form before we even knew it!" The soldier exclaimed as he panted heavily from fear and adrenaline. "It's going to kill us all if we stay here!" He cried out.
"Nuts, anyone?" Johnny asked.
"SKREEOOONGK!" A familiar roar was heard within the jungle as the defenders looked out while the soldier panicked.
Even Johnny's eyes widened when he heard it. "Either I'm hearing things, or we just arrived in Jurassic Park." He joked.
"It's still here, it will come back to finish us all!" The soldier cried out.
"Calm yourself, stay with us and you'll be safe." Liu Kang advised him.
"No, no. No, I can't! I don't want to die like this!" The soldier cried out and ran for his life.
"Get back here you-" Before Jax could finish, a powerful stream of blue flame flew past the defenders and connected with the soldier, causing him to scream in pain as he exploded. Bits of his body fell to the ground, shocking everyone as they turned towards the source of the flame.
Stepping out of the density of the jungle, Gojira revealed himself as he stood atop a hill, glaring with glowing blue eyes as he looked at the champions. Scorpion's eyes widened upon seeing him as he felt fear grip his heart. "Wow…" Johnny said upon seeing Gojira as he held up his shaking fists. "Who called in the walking power house?" He asked.
Sonya groaned in annoyance as she facepalmed, while Gojira stared at the champions curiously. "You're a colorful bunch." He told them.
"Are you the one who caused this massacre?" Liu Kang asked him.
"And what if I did…?" The Incarnation of Destruction asked.
"Everyone…" Scorpion spoke as they looked at him, noticing that he was trembling in fear. "We need to leave, now…" He told them.
"What's got you so scared all of a sudden?" Sub-Zero asked him.
"Just trust me on this…" The Shirai Ryu ninja told them.
A small smirk formed over Gojira's face, sensing his fear. "I'd listen to your yellow friend, if I were you." He advised them.
"Listen, we didn't come here to fight you." Kitana informed him.
"But he's giving us a very big reason to." Johnny stated as Kitana shoved him away.
"We came here seeking the Outworlders that trespassed here in Earthrealm." She informed him.
"Yet despite my warning signs, you still trespass on my island. You should leave, before you join the rest of my scarecrows." He warned them as he turned away to leave.
But his words only angered Johnny as he charged forward. "That's it!" He yelled as Gojira glanced towards him, seeing him pull a shadow kick to attack him. But Gojira's tail sprouted as he smacked Johnny away. He screamed and crashed against the ground, groaning in pain as he felt it hurting against his abbs. "Okay… I did not see that coming." He moaned in pain.
"It's about to get worse…" Jax said as he saw Gojira shifting into his monstrous form as he turned around, facing them with his beastly appearance. "He's big… I fought bigger." He charged at Gojira and attempted to punch him, but the monstrous warrior caught his bionic arm and twisted it, causing him to scream as Gojira threw him into the air, snared his waist with his tail, slammed him on the ground causing him to bounce and kicked him away.
"Next." He said as Sub-Zero slid towards him across ice and formed an ice sword to strike him, Gojira blocked his attack as the ice shattered against his hardened scales. He punched at the assassin as Sub-Zero ducked from it and landed a few hard punches against the reptilian warrior. But each punch felt like he was hitting stone as Gojira coiled his tail around the cryomancers leg and threw him over, smashing him against the ground a few times and tossing him away while Scorpion teleported through flames and went to strike him with his katana.
They shattered against his dorsal plates though, given how durable they were as Gojira glanced towards him and grabbed him by the neck and attempted to choke him. But Scorpion used his training to break free and kick him against his stomach as he landed a few strikes against his face. This actually made Gojira step back as he shook his head and looked at him. "We didn't want to fight, but we will defend ourselves." He warned him.
Seeing his stance, Gojira immediately recognized it as he stood up. "You're of the Shirai Ryu… I recognize that style anywhere. Last I heard, they were extinct." He informed him.
"I am the last of my clan. And you will see just how fierce our fighting style is." He told him as he rushed towards him, throwing his spears at him to pierce his flesh. Gojira deflected the spears as he avoided a high kick from Scorpion and kicked against his other leg to knock him off balance. Scorpion merely teleported behind him and kneed him in the back of the head, making Gojira fall forward but used the momentum to flip forward and smack Scorpion down with his tail.
The ninja crashed against the ground and groaned painfully as Gojira stepped on his back. "I'm not impressed." He told him as he got blasted in the face by Sonya, she stood firm as she kept her blasters aimed at him. The monstrous warrior turned towards her as he showed his face had a hole in it, but it slowly healed as he growled furiously upon reaching full recovery. She was shocked but wasn't deterred by what she witnessed as she charged at him, taking a wire and snaring it around his neck as she flipped over him.
He felt it around his neck as he choked from it, Sonya pulled tighter to try and cut through his neck. "Let's see how you do without a head, asshole!" She tried to pull harder, but Gojira's tough scales were so dense, she couldn't cut through. He snarled as he held the wire and pulled her up and threw her over, slamming her against the ground as she yelped in pain and rolled across the ground.
Johnny saw it as he glared at him. "No one hurts my girlfriend!" He yelled as a green aura surrounded his fist and he unleashed an energy ball towards him. Gojira quickly deflected it only to feel Johnny shadow kick him against his stomach, he held his ground and looked at Johnny as he grabbed him by his face and lifted him up, punching him in the stomach as he threw him over and slammed him against the ground and tossed him away. He screamed and hit the ground, groaning in pain from it. "Okay, I should've thought that through." He said to himself.
"Weakling…" Gojira remarked as he heard the sound of blades and he glanced at one of Kitana's steel fans flying towards him as he quickly caught it with his hand. The sharp steel managed to make his hand bleed as he tossed it away and he looked at her. "You should have left while you could." He warned her.
"You forced us to defend ourselves." She retorted.
"And now you will regret ever challenging me." He replied as he felt an intense heat approaching him and he turned sharp seeing Liu Kang flying towards him, slamming a powerful kick against his torso, forcing him to slide back as Gojira looked up at him, seeing his dragon fire emanating from his hands. "You have a strong fire, boy." He complimented his fire but formed a blue flame in his claw hand, surprising the shaolin monk. "But not strong enough." He told him as Liu Kang went to attack him, but Gojira countered with a flaming fist to his chest and knocked him back.
Liu Kang yelled as he crashed across the ground and slid to a stop at the base of a tree, Gojira walked towards him as Liu Kang staggered to get up on his feet. "I won't… yield to you…!" He told him as he got up." He declared.
"The more you fight, the harder I'm going to hit you." Gojira warned him as Liu Kang went for a punch, Gojira deflected each attack as he saw Kitana going to attack him from behind. He parried her attacks while avoiding Liu Kang's as he landed a kick against her and smacked Liu Kang with his tail. Kitana went for another assault as Gojira noticed and blocked her steel fans, when she went for a deadly strike, Gojira knocked her fans out of her hands and rammed her with his shoulder.
Seeing her get knocked down, Liu Kang yelled angrily as he lunged and threw a flying kick, slamming it hard against Gojira's chest. But the Kaiju Warrior caught it as he slid back with him and threw him off, Liu Kang landed on his feet and stood firm in his fighting stance. "You will not touch her again!" He warned him, but Gojira's form soon became more beastlike and his muzzle grew out.
"SKREEEEEOOOOOONGK!" He roared out and charged at Liu Kang, he threw a punch as Liu Kang avoided his attacks and landed a few quick jabs against his strong scaled body and landed a high kick against his neck. But his thick muscles merely absorbed his attack as Gojira returned the attack by punching him against his stomach and throwing him down, Liu Kang broke his fall and landed on his feet as he launched dragon fire from his fists. Gojira shielded himself from his attacks as his dorsal plates charged up, glowing blue as he unleashed his newly powered aether breath.
Liu Kang's eyes widened as he ran from the stream of blue fire to avoid getting hit by it, but Gojira followed him with his aether breath as Liu Kang desperately avoided it to keep from getting burned, he lept over a log only to get blasted against his back as he screamed and hit the ground, he pat the burn spot to put out the flames as Gojira chuckled at him. Liu Kang finally put the fire out on his back and saw Gojira charging as he tried to make a break for it, but Gojira grabbed him and snarled as he attempted to bite him. Liu Kang quickly used his forearm to block but felt his sharp teeth dig into his forearm, causing him to scream as Gojira thrashed him around.
Using his strength, Gojira lifted him up in a suplex move and slammed him against the ground. Groaning from the impact, Liu Kang looked up and saw Gojira about to stomp on his head, but he quickly rolled away and kicked Gojira's face a few times as he got back up. He held his bleeding arm as he groaned in pain while Gojira stood up. "I'll give you one chance to walk away." He suggested.
"I'm not done yet." Liu Kang told him, only to feel Scorpion grab his shoulder and look at him.
"Don't do it, Liu Kang… this is one fight we can't win." He told him.
"Scorpion, he's too dangerous." Liu Kang reminded him of Gojira's strength.
"Which is why we need to leave." Scorpion argued as he looked at Gojira. "This warrior is well known for his brutality… I for one never challenged him for how strong he was." He informed him as Liu Kang looked at Gojira, who stood firm in his beastly form.
"Wait, time out! You knew this guy was here?!" Johnny asked him.
"And you didn't think to warn us?" Jax asked him.
"I thought he died ages ago, and to see him here…" Scorpion looked at Gojira who morphed back to his human appearance. "He is not one to be underestimated." He declared.
Sub-Zero stepped up and looked at the remains of the Outworlders and looked back to Gojira. "Why did you kill these Outworld soldiers?" He asked him.
"Do you not know who they serve…?" Gojira asked him.
Kitana stepped up to answer. "They serve Shao Kahn, he's been trying to conquer the realms for ages. And he used me and several Edenian warriors to achieve his dream." She explained.
Gojira's eyebrow raised up as he looked at the remains of the Outworld soldiers. "Shao Kahn…?" He questioned as he approached the soldiers and picked up one of their helmets and examined it. "So they do not serve Ghidorah…?" He asked them.
The name he spoke intrigued Sonya as she stepped up. "Ghidorah…? As in Ghidorah Tarek, of Tarek Industries?" She asked him.
"Someone we should know about?" Johnny asked her.
"Ghidorah Tarek, CEO of Tarek Industries, the biggest manufacturing company of weapons. He tried to get me and Jax under his employment. We turned him down, because his deals seem shady. More shady than Kano's Black Dragon operations." She explained.
"You were wise to turn him down." Gojira stepped up. "Because Ghidorah is a devil that has lived longer than I have in this realm. Come, I will show you." He turned and walked to the jungle as the Earthrealm Defenders followed him.
He led them to a cave which was built around a temple that held the stories of Earthrealm's past. Everyone marvelled at the sight of the temple as they looked around. "Okay, we are officially in Tomb Raider." Johnny commented.
"What is this place?" Kitana asked as she looked around.
"This temple was built by the first islanders." Gojira explained as he led them to the inner sanctum of the temple. "For millions of years, there was a war unlike any other. This world was one ruled by powerful beings. Titanic creatures of terrifying power." He explained as astral images of the Titans emerged from each image amongst the temple walls, surprising the Earthrealm Defenders. "Before the war, these creatures taught humans how to build. And were worshipped as gods. But their rule was not without its challengers. Their conflict with one another resulted in tragedy on both sides, but that was when… he came." Gojira explained as he looked towards the astral image of Ghidorah.
Upon looking at Ghidorah and his three headed appearance, fear gripped the hearts of the Earthrealm Defenders when they looked at his beastly form. "He came in like a meteor, crashing into our world as his power caused massive storms to build around the planet. The past gods referred to him as Ghidorah, the one who is many. His power was feared by all, except one." Gojira looked towards his previous incarnation, Godzilla himself. "These two bitter rivals fought fiercely, and their battle shook the Earth. Causing volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and typhoons." He explained how the battle between these two Titans caused the Earth's natural disasters.
Even Liu Kang and Kitana were astonished by this history as they watched it happen around them. "But when both these Titans fell, their battle left the world in scars. All the other Titans fell from one another, but their life essence was given to humanity. Allowing them to reincarnate into the new generation." Gojira explained.
"In other words, monsters in human skin." Scorpion surmised.
"Remarkable." Sub-Zero commented.
"As hard to believe as this may seem, you all know that there is more to the realms than you come to understand." Gojira told them as he walked towards the wall mural of Godzilla and looked at it. "I have spent 562 years fighting against Ghidorah's legions of Demons. Though they are not from the Netherrealm, they are something far worse." He informed them.
"So, those soldiers that were torn apart back in 1945 were-" Kitana was about to ask.
"They were his demon soldiers, expandable ones at that. All of them are scattered across this world without you even knowing it. Hiding in plain sight as humans to hide amongst the populace, awaiting orders from Ghidorah. In other words, your kind will be staring down the barrel of a full scale invasion." He told them.
"And we almost bought into his need to defend Earthrealm." Sonya said to herself as she held herself. "I knew something was off about him, I just knew it!" She exclaimed.
"I can't believe it… I mean I have witnessed many things since joining up with you guys, but this?" Johnny gestured to the history of the Titans. "I still can't believe it." He told them.
"Believe it, because we just walked into a new war that is secretly being waged here in Earthrealm." Sub-Zero told him as he walked towards the murals. "And all the while, the Lin Kuei has been getting cybernetically enhanced." He said with disgust.
"The Lin Kuei…" Gojira turned to him as he crossed his arms. "Ghidorah is the reason they were being cybernetically enhanced. Longwei's ambition to improve the Lin Kuei was influenced by Ghidorah, he is called a devil with three heads for a reason." He told him.
"If you two have been fighting all this time, why fight when you want to be left alone?" Jax asked him.
"Because he took everything from me, everyone I ever loved." Gojira informed him as he turned and walked to a shrine that he made in honor of his beloved Noriko. He kneeled down and bowed to it. "Everything I ever knew was wiped out in a single night… my village, my family… even the woman I loved. It was all gone… all because of one monster's ambition to conquer this world." He informed them as Scorpion lowered his head, understanding that pain.
"How could one person do something like that?" Kitana asked.
"To make a bargain." Gojira answered.
"A bargain…? With who…?" Liu Kang asked him, but suddenly saw a portal opening before them as Gojira turned towards it.
"With the new ruler of Earthrealm." He informed them as resurrected versions of their past enemies and allies stepped through, Kung Lao and Stryker stood amongst them as Liu Kang's eyes widened in shock. Amongst the others were repaired bodies of Cyrax, Sektor, and Smoke, along with an unknown warrior in black as Sub-Zero's and Scorpion's eyes narrowed.
In that instant, Shang Tsung stepped through with a malefic grin, and looked young. "Wow, someone's been hitting the fountain of youth." Johnny commented.
"Earthrealmers, I strongly suggest you surrender the one who massacred Shao Kahn's forces, and we may let you live." He advised them.
"Fat chance on both accounts." Jax rebuked.
"Shang Tsung, how dare you!" Liu Kang yelled as he stepped up. "First we lose our allies in Shao Kahn's tournament, then you bring them back as slaves?! Does your cruelty know no bounds?!" He asked him.
"Blame only yourself and your master, Liu Kang. He sent Kung Lao to his death at the hands of Shao Kahn, while you stood by and did nothing." Shang reminded him as he smirked, while Kung Lao took his razor brimmed hat and threw it at him as Liu Kang was about to shield himself from it. But before it could reach him, Gojira caught the hat, saving his life as he threw it back as Kung Lao avoided it while it hit an Outworld soldier.
"Your master should have picked a different island to hide your troops… they set foot on my island, and paid the price for it. Just like you're going to." He warned them as Shang Tsung was unfazed by his threat, with a wave of his hand, his followers charged at the Earthrealm defenders in an attempt to destroy them. Kano, with a new bionic eye, struck at Sonya as she defended herself from his attacks.
"Thought ya saw the last of me, eh love?" He asked her as he took a knife and slashed at her.
But Sonya parried his attacks and punched him in the face and slammed a knee to his stomach. "You should have stayed dead, Kano." She told him while kicking him away, while Jax was up against Goro who swung his arms at him.
He narrowly avoided his punches as he landed good punches against Goro's face and stomach. "You overwhelmed me last time, big boy. But this time, the playing field has been evened. I'm gonna take your arms like I did Kintaro." He warned him as Goro snarled and went to punch him, while Jax defended himself from his attacks and punched his ribcage, making him cry out from it as Jax kicked him in the face, knocking him down as he got kicked by Kung Lao who attempted to kill him.
But Liu Kang intervened as he kicked him away while the others fought against their enemies. "Kung Lao, stop this!" He pleaded as Kung Lao went to strike him, Liu blocked and parried his attacks as he narrowly ducked under a high kick from his fallen brother and blocked his next attack. "Whatever Shang Tsung is forcing you to do, you have to fight it!" He said, only to get kicked away.
"The only one I desire to fight… is you, Liu Kang!" Kung Lao declared as he charged at him and attempted to take his head, while Liu took a rusted sword and blocked his attacks with it. Meanwhile, Sub-Zero was fighting against a few Outworld soldiers and avoided an attack from Sektor as he froze his arms and kicked him in the face.
Cyrax came in to strike him down as the cryomancer slid back on a sheet of ice, freezing the cyber assassin's feet as he froze his entire body. Unsuspecting Smoke's approach, he turned sharp and got grabbed and held up by his uniform and struggled as the warrior in black approached. "You are not fit for the name, Sub-Zero." He told him.
Sub-Zero struggled in Smoke's grip as he glared at the warrior in black. "Who are you to judge?" He asked him.
"I wore those colors before you." He answered as Sub-Zero's eyes widened in shock.
This unknown warrior was his long deceased brother. "Bi Han…?!" He asked as he got thrown down to the ground.
"Yes, Kuai Liang, it is I." He answered as he walked towards him, his shadow emerging behind him. "The Netherrealm's magic resurrected me." He informed him.
"Brother… Why are you serving Shang Tsung? You fought for Earthrealm!" Sub-Zero reminded him of his duty.
"Serving Earthrealm wasn't enough for me. When I died at Scorpion's hand, I woke up in the Netherrealm. It was there I found a greater power. With it, I will blanket the realms in shadow." He declared.
"This isn't who you are, Bi Han. How can you choose darkness over light?" Sub-Zero asked as he stood back up.
"Darkness suited me more than light ever did. Which is why, after my death, Longwei proceeded with the Cyber Initiative." He informed him.
Sub-Zero's eyes widened when he learned the truth behind the Cyber Initiative. "You gave Longwei authorization to proceed with the Cyber Initiative?!" He asked him as his anger grew more. "Do you not realize how it dishonors our clan?! You bring shame to our family!" He declared his disgust.
"I bring shame? You who sought to avenge me, yet you side with that Shirai Ryu dog! You betrayed our clan, and now you must be punished by me… Noob Saibot!" He declared as he went to strike him, Sub-Zero blocked his attacks to avoid getting injured. He parried and deflected his attacks and he went to freeze him. But Noob blocked it with his shadow and he kicked his brother in the stomach, forcing him to stumble as Noob freed his shadow as it charged at Sub-Zero.
Elsewhere, Scorpion defended himself from Stryker's bullets as he noticed Baraka attempting to stab him from behind, he threw a kick back and kicked him in the face. He knocked a few fangs out of his mouth as he used his chained spear to deflect each of Stryker's bullets that he shot at the ninja specter. Baraka extended his blades and shot a shard at Scorpion as he teleported and avoided getting pierced, the shard pierced Stryker in his shoulder as he cried out from it and hit the ground.
While Scorpion reappeared and kicked Baraka in the stomach, causing the Tarkatan leader to cry out in pain from it as he swung arm blades in retaliation. Scorpion used his katanas to deflect and parry his attacks, he ducked from an overhead slice from Baraka as he landed an elbow strike against the Tarkatan leaders face, causing his nose to bleed as he teleported behind him and landed hard punches against his side and kneed him in the face, knocking him away as he hit the ground.
Stryker attempted to shoot him again, but the spectral ninja teleported behind him as he wrapped his chain around his neck and threw him over, slamming him against the ground as he kicked him against his face, knocking him out as he groaned in pain. "No one deserves to be a slave." He commented.
Meanwhile, Reptile lunged at Gojira and went to bite him. The Kaiju warrior held him at bay and punched his stomach. But both reptilian warriors had thick skin that absorbed their attacks as Gojira landed a hard punch to Reptile's face, while the Zaterran retaliated by punching him in against his stomach, only for Gojira to return the retaliation by kicking him in the head and knocking him down. He groaned from the assault and glared at him. "You are no Zaterran… but I will treat you as such!" He shot an acid ball from his mouth, Gojira felt it hit his shoulder and burn them as he let out a painful beastly cry.
Reptile grinned as he covered his claws with acid and slashed at him, cutting into his thick scales as Gojira cried out in pain from it. Sonya noticed it as she struggled with Kano, she knocked his knife into the air and kicked him away. She used her momentum to launch herself into the air and kick the knife towards Reptile as it pierce his shoulder, causing him to writhe as Gojira swung his tail and smacked him away, his wounds healing from the acid. He growled furiously as he noticed Cyrax and Sektor coming to ambush him. He blocked their attacks as he landed strong punches against Cyrax and kicked Sektor in his stomach, regardless of the fact they were metal.
Cyrax shot his cyber net around Gojira as he felt it tie and electrocute around his body, while Sektor unleashed his flame jets to try and burn him. But they barely did anything to slow him down as Gojira snarled and broke free of the net and grabbed Cyrax and slammed him down into the ground, keeping him from getting back up as Sektor launched missiles at him. The Kaiju warrior knocked away two of the missiles and caught the third one by hand as he threw it back at Sektor, blasting him away as Sektor flew across the temple.
Elsewhere, Liu Kang was trying his best to defend himself against Kung Lao as his former brother who slashed at him with his razor brimmed hat. Kitana rushed over and threw her steel fans and knocked Kung Lao's hat out of his hand as she kicked him in the face. He rolled away as Liu Kang shot fire at him, he caught his hat and threw it at her as she summoned her fans back and deflected his hat as it returned to him. "Kung Lao is more ruthless than he was in the tournament." She commented.
"He's not himself, we need to capture him alive." Liu Kang advised her.
"That will not be easy." She retorted and looked at Kung Lao. "We wouldn't even know how to free him or Stryker." She said as she and Liu Kang charged at him while Kung Lao teleported above them and went to kick them both down, together they avoided his attack as Liu Kang struck at him with quick jabs and threw a kick at him. Kung Lao deflected his attacks, only to get struck by Kitana as she and Liu Kang landed a barrage of attacks against the fallen monk. Kung Lao felt their attacks against him as he parried their attacks, but Liu Kang struck his face as Kitana kicked his abdomen.
He groaned in pain as he backed up, holding his injuries as he glared at them. "You won't stop Shao Kahn from returning, no matter what you do, he will take Earthrea-" Not wanting to hear it, both Liu Kang and Kitana punched him in the face, knocking him out.
"Was he always so arrogant?" Kitana asked him.
"Since we left the farm in Fengjian. Help me with him." Liu Kang grabbed a nearby rope as he and Kitana took the time to bind his brother before he could wake up. Meanwhile, Goro was trying to overpower Jax as he swung his masculine arms at him. But he avoided the Shokan's arms and punched him hard against his side, making him wince in pain as Jax ducked from another swing of Goro's arms, and landed a hard punch against his face that forced Goro back as he rubbed his face.
He moved his jaw around till he spat a molar out of his mouth, making him growl in anger as Jax smirked and held up his bionic fists. "Had enough?" He asked him as Goro roared out and charged to ram him, but Jax avoided it as Goro slammed into the wall face first. He was stuck in the wall as he struggled, while Jax landed a few punches against his side to break his ribs. But this only angered Goro as he broke free and smacked him away as Jax crashed against the ground. Goro walked towards him to finish where he left off back on the island, but before he could, Johnny shadow kicked him in the stomach and spread his legs out as he punched Goro in the groin.
Gasping in sheer pain, Goro moaned in pain as he held his groin. Johnny stood back up and rubbed his fist in pain. "Damn! That hurt!" He complained as he shook his wrist as he saw Goro writhing in pain from getting hit in the groin. Johnny took the opportunity to put on his brass knuckles and landed some good hits against Goro's face without damaging his knuckles in the process. "And one good uppercut!" He threw an uppercut against Goro's face, forcing him to stumble back and crash against the ground. He shook his fists and examined the brass knuckles. "Can't beat the classics." He commented.
"Nice work Cage, now let's help Sonya with Kano." Jax suggested as he and Johnny ran to help Sonya, who was avoiding a knife to the face from Kano as he tried to push it against her. She knocked his attack away and kneed him in the stomach as Johnny shadow kicked him to keep him from trying to stab at her again. Jax's bionics formed machine guns and shot at Kano who ran from his shots and took cover behind a rock. "You okay, Sonya?!" Jax asked her as he kept Kano pinned down.
"Never better… old wounds are acting up, but they'll hold." She informed him.
"Lucky we got to ya just in time-" Johnny got kicked before he could finish his sentence, and saw that it was a new warrior, one who wore pink and wielded a pair of sais. "Whoa… who knew that Kitana had a sister?" He asked.
"Oh trust me, she never knew." The pink warrior told him as she charged and slashed at him, he narrowly avoided her attacks. But she was swift, faster than Kitana. She managed to land a few strikes, leaving small cuts against him as he winced in pain from it and blocked her next attack and landed a hard right hook against her face, forcing her mask down as she spun and showed her face, revealing tarkatan fangs as she snarled at him.
"HOLY SHIT!" Johnny exclaimed as the pink warrior lunged at him with ravenous hunger, tackling him down as she attempted to bite him. He avoided her snapping jaws as he struggled to keep her at bay. "Back off, I barely even know you!" He exclaimed as he kicked her chest to get her off, as she flew across the room, another new warrior caught her as she helped her stand up. "Another one? Is Outworld just filled with femme fatales?" He asked.
"Are you alright, Mileena?" The Yellow Clad Edenian asked her.
"I'll be alright, dearest Tanya." She replied as she looked at Johnny and put her mask back on. "I'm simply going to enjoy devouring him." She declared.
Kitana rushed up and saw who they were struggling with as Johnny looked at her. "Explanations please?" He asked her.
"She almost looks like me… but I recognize Tanya all too well. Still fighting alongside Shao Kahn, traitor?" She asked her.
"Forgive me princess, but I choose to not be on the losing side." Tanya replied.
"You betrayed your realm, betrayed my family!" Kitana declared as she looked at her twin. "And you… what abomination are you?!" She asked her.
A chuckle came from Mileena as she pulled down her mask, her fangs shifting to that of a normal face. "I'm you, sister… a more improved version of you, thanks to Shang Tsung's magic." She informed her as her creator smirked while he stood beside the portal he opened. "I was born within the Flesh Pits, infused with Tarkatan blood, by order of our father, Shao Kahn." She informed her.
Kitana narrowed her eyes upon hearing this information, not pleased with hearing it as she unfolded her steel fans. "Does their depravity know no bounds?!" She asked as she approached. "I will see to it that you never leave this cave alive!" She said as Mileena's tarkatan features returned and she snarled and attempted to strike her with her sais. Kitana deflected her attacks with her fans and kicked at her side while she noticed Tanya taking twin kobu jutsu and struck at her.
The Edenian princess blocked her attacks and avoided Mileena's as she smacked Tanya and kneed her half sister in the face as she threw her fan towards Tanya who deflected it and shot a fireball at her. Kitana quickly formed a whirlwind to catch the fireball and launch it in the air and she dashed towards Tanya, punching her in the face and kicking her down to the ground. While Mileena appeared above her and snarled as she attempted to kick her. Kitana quickly rolled away as she saw Mileena go to gouge her eyes out with her sais.
Liu Kang immediately reacted and landed a flying kick against Mileena's side as she yelped in pain from it and crashed against the ground. He glared as his fire surrounded his fists as Mileena got back up. "Is that any way to attack the woman you love?" She asked while using Kitana's own voice.
"You may have been created from Kitana's blood, but you will never be the real Kitana." He told her as she snarled angrily and went to attack him, only to feel Reptile crash against her. Liu Kang saw it happen as he turned to see Gojira approach in his beastly form. "Thanks for the save…" He said.
"Don't thank me yet." He told him as he charged up his dorsal plates and unleashed his aether breath against Shang Tsung, who immediately blocked his attack with a fiery skull. But the strength of Gojira's breath managed to push him back and force him to dodge out of the breath's path. The sorcerer launched a fiery skull from underneath him, landing a harsh uppercut against his jaw as Gojira shrieked and stepped back, shaking his head from the attack as Shang Tsung smirked.
Meanwhile, Sub-Zero was struggling against Noob Saibot as he fought both his fallen brother and his cybernetically enhanced brother. Scorpion noticed it as he teleported through hellfire and kicked Noob Saibot away as he stumbled and looked at him. "You…!" He sneered as Sub-Zero fought against Smoke. "Just the man I was looking for… you have a debt to pay." He told him.
"Your new attire suits you, Bi Han… it's as black as your heart." Scorpion told him.
"You murdered me, because you thought I murdered your family and clan. At this point, I wish I did." Noob told him as the two circled each other.
"I regret what I did, but now that you are what you are…? I won't regret killing you again." Scorpion unsheathed his rope spear and threw it at him, Noob parkoured over it and went to strike him. Scorpion defended himself from his attacks as he blocked his punches and kicked him away and threw his spear at him, piercing his arm. "GET OVER HERE-" Before Scorpion could pull him close, Noob's shadow grabbed his leg and tripped him as Noob charged and kicked him down.
Noob sent his shadow to try and attack him again, but Sub-Zero took Smoke and smacked him against the shadow as he threw an ice ball at him. Smoke shielded himself with his arm as he glared and went to strike him, causing the cryomancer to slide under his strike as he formed an ice dagger and stabbed through the armor plating as he kicked him down and froze him to the ground. "I will save you, brother." He told him as he turned towards Noob who fought Scorpion as he rushed over and threw an ice dagger at him. Noob knocked it away and blocked his punches as well as Scorpions as he kicked Sub-Zero away.
He went to strike them again, but Sub-Zero froze his feet while Scorpion kicked him in the face, Sub-Zero joined in by punching Noob in the chest as the two warriors relentlessly beat him down till they both landed a harsh uppercut against him, knocking him out as Noob fell to the ground. However, he had enough strength to remain conscious as he looked at Sub-Zero. "You haven't… won yet…" He said as he fell unconscious.
But Sub-Zero glared at him defiantly as he didn't recognize him anymore. "We may share blood… but we are not brothers." He declared. Meanwhile, Kano was trying to slice up Sonya to bleed her out, but she had her own knife as she parried his strikes. He cackled maniacally as he tried to cut her, but she knocked his knife out of his hand with a kick and kneed him in the face as Johnny punched him hard, landing several blows against his torso as he spread his legs out and he punched Kano into balls.
He squealed from it as he held his privates, groaning as Jax grabbed him and threw him away, sending him crashing against a tomb that crumbled down on top of him. "You okay Sonya?" He asked her.
"Yeah, he almost had me." She said as she looked at the fight between Gojira and Shang Tsung. "Looks like someone is taking this seriously." She said as Gojira snarled, swinging his arms at the sorcerer, but he narrowly dodged his attacks as he landed swift jabs against him. He groaned from it as Gojira swung his tail at him and missed while Shang Tsung ducked from it and went to strike him. But before he could reach Gojira's throat, Liu Kang kicked him away to prevent him from landing a killing blow.
Shang Tsung slid back and was about to launch a fiery skull against him, but Kitana threw her steel fan at the skull, shattering it as she charged and kicked him against his chest. Liu Kang landed harsh blows against the sorcerer to keep him off balance as Gojira charged up his aether energy and unleashed his Aether breath, blasting Shang Tsung against his chest as he cried out and hit the ground. He groaned in pain as he felt Gojira stomp on his chest, breaking a few ribs as Shang Tsung cried out from it and looked up at Gojira, who growled angrily. "Such strength and power… what… are you…?" He asked.
Leaning down, Gojira growled in his face as the pressure against Shang Tsung's chest got heavier. "I'm the reason you should never have set foot in Earthrealm." He told him as he crushed a few more ribs, making the sorcerer groan in pain from it. "You will go back to Outworld, and tell your master that if he wants me, he'll have to come here himself and face me." He told him as he kicked him across the ground towards the portal.
His body glowed and charged with aether energy, causing Liu Kang's eyes to widen as he turned to the others. "GET DOWN!" He yelled as he took cover with Kitana behind a rock, Sonya, Johnny and Jax took cover behind a wall while Sub-Zero formed a wall of ice around him and Scorpion, while Gojira unleashed a burst of Aether energy from his body, blasting all the Outworld servants that were under Shang Tsung's command.
Once they had all been knocked down by his shockwave, he unleashed a powerful roar. "SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNGK!" He finished his roar as Shang Tsung watched on with fear in his eyes, he got up and formed individual portals around his followers and forced them to escape as he got up.
"This isn't over, monster. Shao Kahn will hear about this, and he will destroy you." He warned him.
"Many have tried, all have failed." Gojira replied as Shang Tsung growled and ran into the portal to escape his wrath.
The Earth Defenders stepped out of hiding and saw the utter devastation that Gojira caused to the room around them. "I'm starting to understand why Scorpion never challenged this guy." Johnny commented as he looked around.
"Me too." Sonya said as she checked the area.
Liu Kang and Kitana searched the burnt areas as they looked towards Gojira, who shifted back into his human form and calmed himself as he turned towards the defenders. "Now do you understand why I prefer to be alone…?" He asked them.
"We're starting to understand. But what you must understand, is that Shao Kahn won't just come for the other continents in Earthrealm, he will keep coming for this island. Sending stronger, more powerful fighters that will eventually take you down." Liu Kang explained.
"Which is why you must ask yourself… How long will it be till you face the entire Outworld army? And will you be able to survive?" Kitana asked him.
"They have a point, big guy." Jax said as he walked up to him. "We get you wanting to be alone, but I think your girl would want you to fight for Earthrealm." He handed him the image of Noriko. "Trust me when I say, I have someone special I want to come home to. And she is the best thing to have happened to my life." He explained.
Taking the photo of Noriko, Gojira looked at the image as he remembered her beautiful smile. The one thing that would brighten his day, his eyes shut knowing that defending his realm would be what she wanted. Scorpion at the moment approached and touched his shoulder, earning his attention. "Take this time to think about it, we will leave." He told him and walked away from him, the other Earthrealm defenders followed with their unconscious captives to give Gojira time to think it over.
He watched them leave and looked back to the temple around him, seeing the devastation that had been caused during the chaos. He knew that this invasion would not stop, no matter how hard he fought. He knew what he needed to do, even if it meant letting go of his pride.
(Special Forces Base, Texas)
A few days had passed since the Defenders left Odo Island, Jax was helping with Smoke as he was unconscious, or offline in this case. Once reactivated, Smoke took the chance to scan the area. "Alright, that should do it." Jax said as Sub-Zero approached his cybernetic brother.
"Are you certain it worked?" He asked him.
"Not sure, I've never worked with this kind of tech before." Jax replied as he held up the behavior inhibitor chip. "If we're lucky, it might also work for your buddy Cyrax." He told him.
Meanwhile, Sub-Zero leaned over Smoke to check on him. "Smoke…?" He called to him as he turned back towards Jax. "Can he hear me…?" He asked.
"He should." Jax answered.
Sub-Zero looked back at Smoke and looked him in the eye. "Smoke…?" He called to him.
Processing all that has happened, Smoke reached and touched his head. "Yes… Kuai Liang…" He answered as he sat up with Sub-Zero's help and examined himself. "I… I feel like a freak." He referred to himself.
"I wish there was something I could have done to help you, brother." Sub-Zero told him as he touched his shoulder. "But it's good to have you back." He told him.
"I don't feel like I'm back…" He replied as he noticed Cyrax on the separate table next to him. "Cyrax…" He got off the table and approached him. "Is it alright?" He asked.
"We're working on getting him restored. Whatever Longwei did, he wanted to make sure that Cyrax remained loyal to the Lin Kuei." Jax explained as he walked over to Cyrax and rolled him onto his side. "Hold him up, will you?" He requested as Smoke held Cyrax to keep him from falling over, while Jax worked on removing the behavior inhibitor chip from his neck. "How hard was it for you when you got turned into a cyber?" He asked.
"To be honest, it feels like I'm in a nightmare." Smoke admitted as he observed him working on removing the inhibitor chip. "You sure you know what you're doing?" He asked him.
"Sub-Zero asked the same thing, and I'll give you the same answer I gave him. Hell no… this tech is beyond anything I've worked with. And guess who the manufacturer is." He told him to guess.
"Tarek Industries." Smoke answered.
"Ten points to you, Smokey." Jax said as he worked on removing the inhibitor chip. "Almost… got it…" He said as he pulled the chip out and closed the hatch on Cyrax's back. "That should do it. We just need to give him a minute or two to reboot." He told them.
"You did well for someone who's worked in the Special Forces." Sub-Zero commented.
As Cyrax rebooted, his eyes flashed green as he groaned and reached to his head, touching it as he felt pain, despite being turned into a machine. Smoke walked up and took his hand, helping him up. As he stood up on his feet, he examined himself and revealed his shock. "No… he ripped out my heart, made me a machine…!" He exclaimed.
"But your soul is still intact, brother. Trust me." Smoke told him.
Looking upon his cybernetic brother, Cyrax was shocked to see him in his state. "Tomas…? They got you too…? What have I done…?" He questioned as he noticed Scorpion approach, much to his surprise. "Wait… Scorpion…?" He asked.
"I know you must not trust me, but we're all on the same side right now." He explained as Sub-Zero approached.
"And we can really use your help, along with Smoke's." He told him.
"We will do what we can to help, Outworld must not gain control over Earthrealm." Cyrax declared.
"While Outworld remains a threat, apparently there is a new threat here in Earthrealm. What can you tell us of Ghidorah Tarek?" Sub-Zero asked them.
"Ghidorah…? The one who suggested us being cybernetically enhanced? He tempted Longwei, and he bought into his offer, making us all machines." Cyrax explained as he looked between him and Scorpion. "Are you saying that he is worse than Shao Kahn and Shinnok combined?" He asked.
"From what we heard, yes. He was not a man, but a devil, worse than Shinnok." Scorpion informed him, only to hear loud knocks through the base.
Jax heard it as well as a second set of knocks were heard and he quickly contacted Sonya. "Sonya, we've got some activity, mind checking the front door?" He requested.
Within the control room, Sonya walked to the console and checked on the video screen, looking through the security screen as she saw a familiar face. "Jax, you're not gonna believe this, Gojira's on our doorstep." She informed him.
"What's he doing here?" He asked.
"Why don't we let him in and find out?" She suggested.
Waiting outside the Special Forces base with weapons surrounding him, armed to the teeth with missiles. Gojira waited for the Earth Defenders to meet him outside, and when the doors opened, he saw them stepping through to meet him as he stood firm. "Well, look who decided to leave his island. Hey Sonya, we better hide any nukes." Johnny joked as he looked at Gojira who approached them. "I'm just playing, I'm playing." He told him.
"Well you better find a good place to hide that big ass forehead." Gojira replies as Jax nearly spits as he bursts into laughter.
Liu Kang walked up to him and extended his hand to him. "Glad you could make it." He told him.
"Make no mistake… I'm not here to defend Earthrealm, only to stop Ghidorah from destroying more lives. You humans have yet to earn my trust." He informed him.
"We understand your reason for not trusting us." Kitana told him as she approached. "But in our experience, trust is to be earned." She informed him.
"Trust… but verify." Gojira surmised as he saw Smoke and Cyrax, who bowed respectfully as he looked towards Sub-Zero. "I see you friends are somewhat back to normal." He told him.
"They're still cybernetically enhanced, but we're going to find a way to restore them." Sub-Zero told him.
"What I'd like to know is how did you find us?" Sonya asked.
"I followed your scent for the last few days. Had to swim across the entire ocean and avoid sharks in the process." He explained.
"Well, we'd be happy to have you aboard-" Johnny was about to welcome him.
"Hold it, Johnny." Sonya stopped him as she looked at Gojira. "How do we know you're not gonna turn on us the minute our backs are turned?" She asked him, trying to be cautious about the situation.
"Believe me…" Gojira reached behind him and pulled out a bloodied back and reached inside, pulling out the head of a humanoid that looked much like a Gyaos warrior. The eyes of the defenders widened when they saw its head. "There are worse things than me out there." He assured them, knowing that there will be more like him in the world.
(Author Notes: Hey guys, Leonidas1994 here. I'm putting Godzilla's Inferno on hold for a bit and thought I'd upload a prototype story that came to me recently. A Mortal Kombat x Godzilla crossover. And the transformation scene would be something out of BNA (Brand New Animal). It was tough going, but I thought it would be interesting to show something different, sort of. But this would be like an event that took place after Battle of the Realms. As for what Gojira looks like, he'll have a Japanese warrior's kimono with torn sleeves, long hair that would look like Hanzo's when he first arrived in Netherrealm, he'll have a small goatee to show his age. And his Kaiju form will look like the EvolvedGoji, but blue and fewer spikes. Ghidorah meanwhile will have sort of an Egyptian Pharaoh esthetic to him, use your imagination. Hope you guys like it.)
