"I need to tell you both something." She says, the two others look at her. Kit becomes nervous while Charmy becomes curious. Tails breathes in then out.
"I… don't know how this could work and I don't know why I feel this way, but I like you two as in a crush sort of way…" Tails says
"…I thought I was the only one" Charmy spurts out, then clamps their hands on their mouth, Tails laughs then turns to Kit.
"Kit?"
"Really?" Kit begins to cry "Are you two serious?" Kit starts to bawl.
"Yeah of course Kit!" Charmy comforts him and Tails gets up and over to the other side of the table to hug Kit as well.
Kit continues to cry and cry. He doesn't know why he does it but yet he continues to do it. Crying and crying. He can't believe it, two people who he likes, likes him back. Kit continues to cry for a long time. Before, eventually stopping. Only to start crying again as he hugs both Charmy and Tails and brings them in. Catching the two off guard. But they enjoy it. After the waterworks cease, and Kit finishes his emotionally charged live assault on the two others. The three sit down again to talk.
"Well, we're still kids, even if we fight against Robotnick and stuff." Charmy says, the other two agree.
"I don't mind only hanging out and doing things with being more affectionate towards you two." Kit says, the other two look at him, turn to the other and agree.
They three hang out for the rest of the morning. The only difference is now they're boyfriend, girlfriend and datefriend. So their usual activities with the occasional hug or kiss breaking the usual cycle. Eventually Charmy and Kit leave, Charmy goes back to their house and Kit goes back to his place.
There he sees Surge, consumed in thought.
"Are you okay, Surge?" Kit asks.
"Yeah, I'm fine, Drippy, how was your outing with the bee and the Girl?" Surge has lacking on nicknames lately, she doesn't seem to be thinking of them.
"Uh, good, we're together now!" Kit says uncharacteristically with a lot of emotion.
"Makes sense all you do is either read that book or talk about them" Surge teases.
"You asked me to tell you!"
"I asked how your day is not about those two" Surge jokes and laughs, Kit huffs in embarrassment.
"Hey, I'm just as bad with my girlfriends"
"Well I know that." Kit jokes back. Surge smiles before going back into thought. Kit opens his book back up and reads.
Speaking of books, Kit ends up going to the library. To pick up more books. Jewel was nice enough to let him tag along. Knowing how much he liked to read. She helps him get a library card and pick out books after they return her's. Kit, of course, picks up more books about water but also picks up some more books about more varying topic such as engineering and technology (yes that's because of Tails and Charmy), happy with his selection he goes with Jewel to check the books out and go out and about their day.
"Thank you for taking me, Director Jewel." Kit says.
"Kit, please, you can just call me-"
"Jewel!" A new voice says, Kit looks to see a lemur and besides her a wolf. He does not recognize the two. He does however recognize the wisps around the wolf but decided not to think that much about it.
"It's been so long!" The lemur says and hugs the beetle. The Wolf gives a silent hello which Jewel reciprocates.
"Who's this?" The lemur asks, turning to Kit. He looks at her with no emotion. If this is a friend of Director Jewel, he can trust her, right? That's what he hopes at least.
"This is Kit, I was helping him go to the library." Jewel politefully informs. The lemur looks starry eyed at Kit. While the Wolf inspects him for a second.
"Aw, he's so cute, where do you get him?" The lemur says.
"He works for the restoration now."
"Whadda he do before that?"
"I don't think I should share that."
"Fair enough, so how's it going?"
The lemur talks with Jewel as if they are friends, which Kit assumes is the situation, while the wolf doesn't say anything, only walking with Kit. They all eventually arrive back in the restoration. With books and people in tow. They all go back to Kit's room to drop him off. Kit goes inside and greets Surge. Unfortunately not everyone else likes Surge like Kit does.
"Uh, Whispy? Are you okay?" The lemur asks, Whispy is in fact, not okay.
"You." The Wolf says with the clearest voice ever. Everyone turns to her, even Surge. Who was still decently deep in thought.
"Oh Crap" Surge says before being blasted by wisp energy. Taking out a big chunk of Surge and Kit's wall. The wolf then follows out to where Surge is now.
"Look, I don't want a fight"
Too bad.* the wolf takes out and blasts another bound of energy towards Surge, who dodges it this time.
"Whisper, what are you doing?" The lemur says, but Whisper doesn't hear her, she keeps attacking Surge. Again and again and again and again. Tears pour down her face. Finally the lemur has had enough.
"Tangle!" Jewel shouts after her. But the lemur doesn't listen. She attempts to subdue Whisper. Which… works? The Wolf falls down in a bunch of tears. While the lemur attempts to comfort her. Surge, sighs and walks over.
"Look I know what I did to you was terrible and unforgivable… but um, could you not try to kill me, please?" Surge says, Whisper looks her in the eye, then immediately looks away.
"Hey Whispy, it's okay" The lemur comforts her as the two walk away and out of the building.
"Sorry, about that, I think we're going to need a new room though" Surge apologizes to a frazzled Jewel.
They do get a new room and Whisper promises to not to kill Surge citing that there are worse people out there. Happy, Surge takes that as a win. Their new room is basically the same as the old one, with no key differences. Surge goes back to thinking and Kit goes back to reading and mainly Surge wondering whatever happened between the two of them to make them that way. She should get her memory checked.
