Authors Pov:
Some arranged marriages are a success, but some are failures. Most people I know prefer knowing the person first and then slowly building a relationship based on trust, communication, commitment, and teamwork. Of course, there is more stuff needed for a healthy and successful relationship, but these are the basic foundations. Why did I mention all this? Well trust, communication, commitment, and teamwork are the foundation, pillars, walls, and roof of any relationship. Remember these 4 things because they will be important later on.
Anyways, let's get to the story.
Narrators Pov: In a village called Konohagakure in the far away land of the fire, there were ninjas.
Not just any ninjas.
Ninjas with chakra.
Many clans make up Konoha.
The village hidden in the leaves.

About forty years ago Ashina Uzumaki, head of the Uzumaki clan was very bothered because he was threatened with the prospect of another war. But to find a solution to any issue, like a war, one must find out the issue itself.
And to understand the issue, one must learn what caused the issue.
But you, dear reader, do not know the solution, issue, or the cause of the issue. So, it makes sense that I should start from the beginning.
Few years before:
To start, there was a man named Isamu Uzumaki. He, like Ashina, was the head of the Uzumaki clan. He was Ashina Uzumaki's father. But Ashina was not his only child. He had 2 more children.
The eldest, a daughter, Mito
And the youngest, also a son, Jiro.
And Ashina in the middle.
Mito was a year older than Ashina and Ashina was 14 years older than Jiro. Jiro was born very late and was only 3 when his father died.
How did Isamu die?
Good question.
Isamu Uzumaki was killed during the warring period when his close friend Butsuma Senju (Hashirama Senju's dad) asked him to accompany him on a journey to the land of the Uchiha so they can make a peace treaty with them. The little "peace group" only had Isamu Uzumaki, Butsuma Senju, Kiyoshi Uzumaki, Daiki Senju, and Ikuto Senju. Not a single woman came on this expedition.
Their intention was nothing but peace, but the Uchiha had something else in mind. When the five men approached the border of their "village" (which was just 500 or so acres of land occupied by the Uchiha) they sent out forty Uchiha men (again, not a single woman) to "meet" these people.
The party of peace makers rode on horses. They rode until they stopped right in front of the 40 Uchiha men. Isamu and Butsuma unmounted their horses first because they were the elders (they weren't old at all; they were both just forty-two). But then all five people noticed something was very wrong. The Uchiha present had an aura of death around them, and it didn't bode well.
To make a long, long story short they fought. Brutally. Aggressively. It was a huge scandal. The Uzumaki and Senju sought to make peace with the Uchiha but were met with a not so small group of hostile Uchiha.
In the struggle Isamu Uzumaki, head of the Uzumaki clan; beloved father of Mito, Ashina, and Jiro Uzumaki; husband of Noriko Uzumaki; died and he wasn't the only one.
Daiki Senju also died. So did fifteen out of the forty Uchiha. Butsuma Senju, Kiyoshi Uzumaki, and Ikuto Senju, had to flee. They survived but barely. Sporting many injuries and ailments.
How did they flee unnoticed?
Well, they didn't flee unnoticed. They were noticed all right. Well, the Uchiha easily noticed when Kiyoshi disappeared. It isn't that easy to miss a bright red-headed man among dark-haired men.
Kiyoshi, the only one who had enough chakra left, grabbed Butsuma and Ikuto's hands and used the body flicker technique to teleport the 3 of them about 3 miles away from the Uchiha "border."
Kiyoshi Uzumaki went into a panic. He knew that when he returns to the Uzumaki lands without their leader, there is a 98/100 chance that they will execute him.
He failed.
He let a leader die.
He will have to kill himself.
But who will care for his mom?
And wife?
He got married 6 months ago.
"Why?" He thought "why does this happen to me"
Ikuto lay there, exhausted, wondering why he let himself go down this easily.
Why did he not train harder as a child?
Why did he not say goodbye to his little brat of a sister before leaving?
Why did he disobey his mother as a child?
Why...
What if...
But...
Butsuma Senju was not a dumb person.
Sure, both his sons were smarter than him
But he had more life experience than his sons, Kiyoshi, and Ikuto.
He knew what was happening in their heads.
He knew why Ikuto lay there, depressed.
He knew why Kiyoshi was sobbing hysterically.
Butsuma sat down next to Ikuto, his cousin's son as well as his bodyguard, and took off his own olive-green shinobi flak jacket. He then investigated his pockets to try and find a specific makimono (scroll). After he found it, he took one of his kunai (which was stained with Uchiha blood) and wiped some of the blood on the scroll. Then he performed some hand signs.
POOF
An eagle was summoned by Butsuma Senju.
A big eagle.
A big eagle that hates the Uchiha.
Butsuma Senju sent the giant eagle with a SOS message that he intended for His son, Hashirama Senju to receive.
19-year-old Hashirama Senju was casually talking to his 17-year-old brother and 40-year-old mom in their living room.
They were all sitting on the floor just talking and wondering how Butsuma was doing. They were expecting him to return home today.
Suddenly they heard a few sharp taps on the window. Tobirama ran to the window to open it, and he immediately recognized his father's eagle.
Hashirama: "That is Syuuto."
Tobirama: "why are you here?"
Syuuto (the summoning eagle) just glared at the two and just belched out a letter.
Tobirama snatched the scroll from the eagle and read it, his eyes widening with shock. He then passed the letter to Hashirama who also read it with the same exact reaction as his brother.
Tobirama: "We must tell mother.'
Hashirama: "Not yet."
Miyu (their mother): "Boys, where did you 2 go."
Tobirama ran off to distract their mother while Hashirama reread the letter.
But as Hashirama read over the letter he realized, if the 2 brothers went to help, they wouldn't be able to help much. They can't teleport everyone back to the Senju compounds because the body flicker technique's max distance is 3 miles. And a lot of chakra is needed for 3 whole miles. (The Flying Raijin wasn't invented yet)
On top of that none of them learnt medical ninjutsu. Hashirama has a special ability where he can heal himself but that's it. Just himself. Nobody else.
What they needed was a medic.
Preferably one with a lot of chakra.
Guess who has both qualities?
Mito Uzumaki.
Yup.
Mito.

Special Abilities: Calm personality, huge reserves of chakra, more chakra, even more chakra, the byakugou seal (It wasn't perfected, but it was good enough), superior medical ninjutsu, adamantine sealing chains, 140 approx. IQ, and more chakra.
Tobirama entered the room after convincing his mom to read a book.
Tobirama: "Have you reached a desicion big brother?"
Hashirama: "I must leave as soon as possible to rescue father, cousin Ikuto, and this Kiyoshi Uzumaki I have never heard of."
Tobirama: "I heard of him."
Hashirama: "you did?"
"Yes, he is Ashina's cousin. A very powerful person and he specializes in wind style."
"So, Mito's cousin?"
"Yes."
"Ok so I hav-"
"Anija" (an old word for big brother in Japanese that nobody uses anymore)
"What now? You are interrupting me you know." (I am giving him a Naruto like personality. I mean Naruto is a reincarnation of Hashirama)
"You must not be constantly thinking about a woman"
"I am n-not constantly thinking ab-bout a woman. How DARE you suggest that"
Tobirama glared at him, annoyed
Tobirama: "Someone must go and tell them that Uncle Isamu died"
Hashirama: "I will go"
Tobirama: "You are an idiot big brother, when you go to tell them you will probably just look at Mito and forget everything and try to do something like-'
"TOBIRAMA!"
Tobirama glared at his antics and just rolled his eyes.
Tobirama: "Why are we going to Ashina's house anyway? Father will just inform Aunt Nowaki of Uncle Isamu's death when he returns. If he returns."
Hashirama: "we need Mito's healing skills. We are no medical ninjas. We also need her chakra reserves"
"How do you know she is a medic ninja? You don't talk to her, do you?" (back then dating was a big no-no)
"No, I just saw her file..."
"Big brother..."
"What"
In a dangerously low tone, "what were you doing with a woman's file"
"Uhhhh..."
The two brothers ran as fast as they could to Mito's house. Yes. Ran.
The land of the Senju and the land of the Uzumaki were far apart. The Senju and Uchiha shared an east-west border, and they were constantly fighting over land. The Uzumaki were a bit isolated from the two and the Hyuga were far south. Of these four nations the Hyuga had the least land but at least they were near a water source. The Hyuga had a ton of farmland and grew the most food and traded with the Uchiha. The Hyuga had power but were isolated. That is why they stayed far away from the war and did not participate in it.
The two men ran at top speed for 45 minutes.
45. Minutes. Straight. No breaks. Just speed. And occasionally breathing.
The two brothers finally arrived.
And Hashirama immediately started to fidget around
Hashirama: "wait don't knock yet younger brother"
Tobirama stopped, hand in the air, in front of their door
Tobirama: "What now Hashirama"
"Is my hair good?"
"What the-"
"What about my teeth, clothes, ok..."
"Hashira-"
"What about my shoes? Oh, they are clean and wha-'
"HASHIRAMA."
"WHAT?"
"What is wrong with you, elder brother?"
"Ugh, never mind hurry up and knock already"
Tobirama obeyed, really getting sick of his brother, and knocked on the door
The second Tobirama saw who opened the door he knew things were going to get weird.
There stood Mito Uzumaki, clad in a sky-blue kimono of great quality with her luscious red hair tied in two buns.
Tobirama sighed. This was not going to be fun for him
But it probably will be fun for Mito and Hashirama.
