"Hazbin Hotel: Love is a Craft"

The One Shot

(Seviathan Von Eldritch: voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch)

"Oh, hey Lettie."

With that last word, the entire world revolving around everyone's favorite hotel manager suddenly came crashing down. Her tired groans were replaced by silence and her brisk stride now ground to a sudden halt.

For what felt like decades, Charlie Morningstar, princess of Hell and daughter to the literal devil, just… stood there, by the opened doors, rigid as a stone, practically gawking at the sight before her. Honestly, the scene itself wasn't all that different to what usually welcomed her at the end of the day. No, it was the fact that a certain someone was there, mingling with the rest of her friends and loved ones that froze her in place and set her emotions into overdrive. Someone she herself hadn't seen nor spoken to for many, many years. The sight, it seemed, was just too much for her poor, frazzled mind to bear, and after the shitshow she had just endured. I mean, who could blame her?

The silence prevailed for quite a while, though the room's occupants seemed content to just wait it out, thinking the shock of seeing an old friend of hers would eventually wear off. Yet, as the seconds ticked by, one brave soul couldn't take it anymore.

"Uh, Charlie? Are you okay?" came a voice, though this one belonged to certain someone Charlie had spoken to not half a day earlier.

Vaggie, Charlie's girlfriend, who was currently sitting on a couch in the lobby of their hotel, stared at her in concern. After a quick glance around the room, Charlie recognized the rest of her friends and colleagues, their once cheerful demeanor now replaced by confusion and puzzlement. There were of course the usual suspects. Angel Dust, who had been reclining leisurely by the bar, had been in the middle of a drink. His gal-pal Cherri Bomb was sitting right beside him, with nearly half a dozen empty glasses on the counter. Husk had been busy pouring drinks before the poor girl barged in, his paws still busy with the various bottles. Even with the growing tension in the air, Niffty couldn't stop her compulsive need to tidy up. Alastor wasn't there, but his eerie presence could still be felt, meaning he was keeping an eye on them from afar. Her father must have been elsewhere, since he wouldn't have let him out of his sight.

The only irregularity was… well him.

Even as Vaggie continued to call out her name, Charlie just could not respond. His eyes were on her, staring at her, peering into her very soul. They were the same as before, two luminescent orbs surrounded by seas of vibrant red. The rest of him was similar to what she remembered from the last time they met. He still loved wearing black, with accents of radiant green here and there. The top half of his dress shirt was unbuttoned, the rest tucked neatly into his form-fitting slacks. Silver accessories dotted his slim body, from rings to piercings. If she wasn't mistaken, his shoes looked to be molded out of some reptilian, though whether naturally black or simply charred, she couldn't tell.

At last came his face. His skin was still as ashen grey as it always was; a genetic trait his entire family shared. His hair reminded her of his fathers, though his was far darker in color with a sliver of white at its base. The inky black tendrils that it was made of were swept back, leaving his regal face bare.

Honestly, even if Charlie hadn't heard her old nickname when she first entered, his appearance here alone would've done the job of freezing her in place. Wait, how long was she standing here?

"So, I'm just gonna go out on a limb here," stated Angel Dust, finally snapping her out of her stooper, "and say you weren't expecting to see your friend here… eh, sorry what was it again?"

"Seviathan, Seviathan Von Eldritch" he replied, the sound of his voice sending shockwaves down her spine, "but you can just call me-."

"Sev?" Charlie finally spoke in wonderment.

She couldn't believe it. Seviathan Von Eldritch. Eldest son of the house of Von Eldritch of the Ring of Envy, and the heir to their throne. That very same demon was now standing in her hotel, mingling with her friends, sitting next to her girlfriend.

What… the actual fuck.

"Wha-what are you doing here?" Charlie finally managed to say, her voice cracked and shaky.

Seviathan, who had been sitting comfortably on one of the sofas near the bar, had taken to standing as soon as Charlie had uttered her first words to him. He had been expecting that kind of response, seeing as she hadn't seen him for years.

If the Eldritch scion was being honest with himself, he was already feeling like chalking this whole visit up to a win in his book. Charlie had yet to fling anything at him yet, and no fucks had been dropped, which was significantly less than he had imagened when he had first planned this little reunion.

All he needed to do now was respectfully answer her question by stating his honest, well-meaning intentions and everything would go smoothly. So, after a quick dusting of the shoulder and a clearing of the throat, Seviathan Von Eldritch looked straight into the eyes of his oldest and most trusted friends in all of Hell, and spoke the words he had been preparing to say since he had last seen her.

"W-well Lettie," he faltered for a moment, feeling the confidence he had been swelling with immediately leave him at the last second, "I… just wanted to drop by and… uh, see how you were d-doing."

Silence, that was all that was heard for what felt like an eternity. Unbearable, dreadful silence. Then, as if the switch had been flipped, the bright feeling of recognition behind Charlie's eyes flickered away, replaced by what seemed to be blind, boiling rage.

"What?"

Oh. Oh he blew it. He blew it big time.

"What… the fuck did you just say!?"

And if the reddening of Charlie's face was any indication, the only thing he had seemed to accomplish was to set off a ticking freaking time bomb, one filled to the brim with pent up frustration and unresolved issues. One that was ready to blow at any given second.

"You… dare say something that fucking stupid! After all this time!?"

The demonic princess herself had slowly begun to stomp her way over to the individual responsible for her darkened mood; her entire body now becoming red hot with anger. If Charlie had taken a moment to glance around the room, she'd notice the reactions her temperament was causing. By now, the whole room had been staring at her, some in bewilderment, others in amusement. Vaggie in particular was split on either diving in front of her girlfriend and talking her down from… whatever the hell this was, or just pulling her spear on the demon boy responsible for this.

I mean, he's just an old friend, right? What could he've done to cause this?

By now, Sev had started to walk backwards in fright, not knowing what else to do in this situation. He figured she'd might be a little upset at him; she had every right to after the stunt he pulled.

But not this. This was… something else.

"I…uh-I… look I… um," was all he could manage to mutter.

"Woah there, everyone," came the voice of Husk, ever the voice of reason, "I think we should all just calm the hell down, and talk this out like adults?"

"Pfft, fuck dat!?' shouted Cherri Bomb, delighted at the sight before her, "I've been waiting to see the princess go ape shit on some twot!"

"Well hold on, Cherri baby. How about we hear the guy out first" soothed Angel Dust before shooting the demon in question a lust-filled stare "I'd hate to see that pretty face of his torn to shreds before I get my hands on him."

"I say we cut his balls off, stuff 'em down his throat, and light him on fire!"

Everyone, sans Charlie, took a moment to stare at Niffty in shock, still not used to how crass the little sinner could be sometimes.

Yet despite everyone's input on how to proceed, it did nothing to stop Charlie's march towards Sev's now quivering form. By now her more demonic features had started to show, such as her fiery-red eyes and dagger-shaped tail. Her nails had morphed into inch-long talons and her teeth sharpened into razors. Most prominent were her long, pointed horns she rarely let others see.

Sev, on the other hand, had run out of room, his back now plastered to the wall he had backed himself into. Charlie was nearly a foot away, yet all he could do was quiver in fear at the sight before him.

Soon enough, the princess had halted barely an inch away from her prey, her eyes never leaving his. She had so much to say, so much to ask, so much to yell. To scream. To shout. At the things he had done and at what he hadn't!

"You," spat the girl, her words laced with rage, "You…you-you-y-you…"

That went on for a bit, until only guttural sounds could be heard. Seviathan wasn't any better.

"Uh-uh-ah-eh-I…"

On and on it went, though one person in particular couldn't handle it anymore.

"Hey, uh Charlie," called out Vaggie, not knowing what to do in such a bizarre situation, "Did this asshole hurt you or something?"

It had been at the forefront of her mind from the moment Charlie began her little tirade, believing only something as heinous as that could bring about such a response. Behind her, the rest of the crew had circled around them, ready to dish the pain wherever needed. Teasing was all well and good, but if the fucker had gone as far as to harm their hotel manager and lived? Well, whatever he had to say wouldn't mean much to them anymore.

"Cause if he did, you say the word and he," she pointed her now equipped spear at the bastards ashen face, "is as good as d-"

"You left me."

And with those three words, the air had been metaphorically sucked right out of the room, leaving it cold and foreboding. Confusion and bewilderment had filled their minds once more and no one made a move for a long, long time.

Yet no one was as surprised as Seviathan. After the initial shock, his face contorted into a mix of befuddlement and melancholy. His emotions, much like Charlie, were spiralling out of control, and he had no way of stopping it. Although one emotion did seem to bleed through the most.

Regret. Regret at what he had done. At what he had put her through.

For leaving her.

"You left me Sev."

Tears streamed down her face now, a waterfall that cascaded down her reddened cheeks. Tears that dripped down, drizzling the floor beneath her.

Sev himself felt a wave or two start to form, feeling lost in the sadness he had induced. All he could do was say the one thing he'd been wanting to tell her for as long as he could remember.

So, he said it.

"I-I'm sorry, Lettie. I-I left you and… you didn't deserve that. I didn't want to… and by all the damned souls in Hell, I wish I could go back… But I can't. I fucked it all up, and there's nothing I can do to fix it. All I can really do is stand here like the bitch that I am, and say… I'm sorry."

Nothing more was said.

An eternity passed, and Seviathan was starting to hope she'd at least say something to him. Anything! A curse on his name, a long series of insults, hell he'd do for a simple "fuck you". But no, silence hung in the air and it pierced him like a knife.

I never should have come.

Having come to the conclusion that he wasn't welcomed here, he made the first step towards the exit.

Charlie, however, had other plans. Having apparently come to a decision, the girl did something no one expected.

Charlie Morningstar cleared what little room was left and angrily wrapped her arms around the demon boy, smashing her head into his chest as she continued to weep.

"You stupid… piece of shit… dumb… mother fucking…" spat Charlie, her words barely audible while she smashed the Eldritch prince in one of her patented bone-crushing hugs.

Seviathan, after a split second of hesitation, decided to just let whatever was happening to happen, even going as far as lightly wrapping his entrapped arms around Charlie, holding her as close as he could.

"Yep, that's right. I sure am a stupid fucker, huh?" he uttered as he smiled down at her.

A minute passed, yet neither demon had yet to elaborate on just what had transpired, so one individual decided it was time to get some goddamned information.

"...okay, what the actually fuck is going on?" questioned Angel Dust, having been fed up with all the drama, "Just who the fuck are you!?"

A question everyone else seemed to want answered, if the nodding heads were any indication.

"Oh," Sev spoke, trying his best to hug the poor girl still crying into his chest, "I-uh, guess I never really cleared that up, huh?"

Another round of nods.

"Okay, here goes," he took a big breath, then said three words that sent everyone reeling in disbelief, "I'm Charlie's ex."

"...boyfriend?" someone asked.

"Not exactly," stated Charlie herself, still clinging to his chest, "he's… my ex fiance."

"Oh, well then," said Alastor, making his presence known for the first time, "Isn't that just deliciously delightful."

Author's Note

Hi everyone. This is The Social Monstrosity, and this is my first one shot.

Now, I'm sure someone must be wondering what this is and what the purpose is? Well, I like "Hazbin Hotel". More importantly, I like the idea of Seviathan. As of now, he has yet to make an appearance, so I decided to take this opportunity and write how I'd like him to act.

Now, I originally wanted to make this into a full blown fic, with multiple chapters, but the issue was that I had too many ideas on how I wanted him to appear. Plus I have a couple of other fics I need to work on too.

So, I wrote this one-shot to get a feel for it and I used one of the ideas I had floating around in my head. Oh, and yeah, in my head Sev is either voiced by JYB. Specifically his Vash the Stampede voice. Love the guy.

I will eventually work on the full fic, but for now I hope you enjoyed what I wrote.

I really hope Sev isn't going to be some generic asshole ex in the show, but I mean if Charlie dated the fucker, then there must be something to him, right?

Anyway, thanks for tuning in.
