(This opening comment may be a bit long. If you only want to read the story, please skip down a tad until it starts. Also, be aware that this will spoil the entirety of Cobra Kai, so don't read if you want to experience the show for the first time while in the format of the show. With that disclaimer, I want to share a few thoughts around the creation of this story and why I abandoned my RWBY one from a while back. The answer to the latter half is that I quite simply felt that I was doing an awful job at trying to convey what I wanted. It's unfortunate but in trying to create a sort of fix-it fic, I'd taken away any sense of tension and instead made an overpowered main character that had no drawbacks. My original intent and my end product weren't matching up and I can only fault myself and my inexperience as a writer but I have a better idea of where to improve upon my past now. I'm going to give this a shot for the time being, there may be future stories lined up in other fandoms so I'll keep you all posted!)
August 27th, 2018. The first day of the new achool year at West Valley High School.
"... AAAAAHH!"
Consciousness for a young woman by the name of Tory Nichols was replaced with another after a well-placed kick to the face sent her body tumbling down a few stairs. The sudden influx of noise and the jarring change of environment made the inhabitant of the deeply troubled blonde extremely confused and frightened, having zero time to process before her already pale features went deathly palor when a sound that she knew on a visceral level was a harbinger of bodily harm rang clear out in the entirety of the walls of the school.
"ARRRRGH!"
Time slowing down from just how much adrenaline coursed through the veins of the one puppeteering the teenager, the sole thought in the mind of the blonde wasn't the brunette staring bug eyed from the middle of the top staircase hissing through her teeth in pain... the wound that had been inflicted on her only brief moments before the transmigtration. No, the one about to fall from the ledge when he was shortly kicked off was the primary concern. No hesitation in her actions, Tory raced down the steps before screaming at the top of her lungs and leaping off the railing at the precise moment necessary for catching Miguel in her arms, perception only allowing her the briefest glimpse of horror upon the Cobra Kai student's face before the slightly arrested momentum carried them downwards all too fast. Only just managing to angle her back to the floor, Tory's body exploded in agony as a sickening crunch echoed in the open air to the crowd's immediate reaction of awe and shock. It might not have been as harrowing a spectacle from an observer's view as the original fate of Miguel Diaz breaking his back but Tory's ribs crumpled like paper and multiple other areas of the body did not fare much better, the screams that desperately wanted to come out choked when the instant realization that she could hardly breathe sent her into shock. The loud screams of her name from the injured but still mostly unhurt Miguel were muffled as she stared in silent agony, vision swimming with white hot pain that seared from her nerves... the only thing that she was able to utter before darkness replaced everything were words that weren't even audible to herself.
"... 'm s-sorry..."
