A Spider Among Angels

ESKK: Well, here we go the first chapter for a Spider-Man EVA crossover. Now I've placed a lot of things in this story that will be revealed at a later date. Mainly those things involved some of Spidey's foes. And before anyone asks yes this is Asushin and no I won't change it. Furthermore, I need to put my foot down on this as well because a certain reviewer in the past has constantly got on my case for AsuShin pairings calling it cliché, overdone, toxic, and all this other stuff yadda-yadda-yadda. I appreciate the criticism but in fan works all pairings and ships are accepted. If any of you want to review with anything that is basically to go off on my about AsuShin then do me and yourselves a favor and move on. Now then let's get this story started.

"Talking."

'Thinking.'

(Start Train Station Kyoto-2)

Saumi Ikari was an older gentleman, He was a tall man, but had a bit of a belly on him, grey hair and wore glasses on occasion when he needed to read. He was running late to pick up his grandnephew Shinji. While he hadn't kept in much contact with his niece Yui. He still cared deeply for her but hadn't heard much from her the last couple of years.

He hadn't heard the news about her death until yesterday, and it came as a great shook to him. But the only reason he found out about her death. Was because Gendo Ikari had informed him that, he would be leaving the 4-year-old Shinji Ikari their son at the train station.

He'd never met Gendo Ikari personally but after this stunt, Saumi didn't have a very high opinion of him, now he was looking for a four-year-old child.

"Excuse me miss; I'm looking for a child." Saumi asked a woman behind a pained window, worry written over the old man's face over finding the small child in the large train station.

"Okay I'll page him his name." The woman asked looking at Saumi, as she got ready to type it down on a computer.

"Shinji Ikari." he replied to the woman. Saumi was worried for the boy let it be known that he loved his niece dearly even if he and his brother were not on the best of terms. He never once stopped caring for Yui even after she had not contacted them for some time.

"One second please." The woman said before she picked up a phone.

"Will a Shinji Ikari Pleas come to lost and found thank you." she said over the intercom of the train station.

"Thank you miss." Saumi said as he began to scan around looking for a stray child in the crowd.

(Meanwhile over with young Shinji)

Shinji Ikari was standing alone at a train station waiting for his uncle to arrive shortly after his mother had disappeared his father had grown cold and eventually left him. Now here he sat waiting for a man he'd never met alone at the train station he'd stopped crying after a while and now he waited. Just then the intercom was heard where Shinji had to respond.

"Will a Shinji Ikari Pleas come to lost and found thank you."

Shinji heard the announcement and with all his might, tried to move the bag containing all his stuff. But the weight of the bag was far greater then then the child's. which would be impossible for any child his age. But that didn't stop him from thinking it was his fault, He couldn't move it as his eyes began to tear up.

'Is this what father meant by useless that I can't do anything.' The four-year-old thought sadly with tears falling down his check as he began to cry.

(Meanwhile back over with Samui)

Just then Saumi heard the crying of a child not too far from where he had been standing. He went looking for the source a little boy alone with nothing but a large bag. 'This must be him' Saumi thought as he bent down to the child recalling a time when young Yui was like that. He then began to make his way over to the boy hoping to help the young lad. "What's wrong son?" Saumi asked the young child who was balling his eyes out.

"I'm useless and Father doesn't want me, and Mommy is gone." Shinji balled as he sniffed looking at the man before him. Saumi looked at the kid his heart ached for the child. He brought the boy into a hug to comfort the crying child.

"It's okay Shinji me and your Aunt are here for you now it's okay." Saumi said holding the young child. As he balled his little eye's out. after a while he stopped and pulled from the old man.

"You're my Uncle?" Shinji asked his face still red from crying. He received a nod as the man hugged him.

"It's okay now come on, let's get you home now okay." Saumi said as he let go of Shinji, he then picked the toddler up with ease and set him on his shoulder, something he hadn't done in years since his own children.

He then picked up the bag with Shinji's things. with a bit of a huff Being old didn't make things lighter apparently only heaver with age.

"Let's leave now okay." Saumi said to the young child on his shoulders Saumi received a nod and a quiet, "Okay," From the little Shinji, and with that Saumi left with his nephew to go home.

(Scene Break The Ikari Home)

Shinji looked out the window to the house as the Saumi pulled the car towards a house it was an older home made a long time ago that had survived through Second impact and still stood strong.

The moment Shinji stepped into the house. The four-year-old found himself in another embrace from nowhere. "Oh, you poor thing, it's okay Aunt Yuki is here." An older lady had said as she pulled him away to look at the little boy.

"Don't strangle him now Yuki he just got home." Saumi said as he took of his coat to hang it up.

"Oh, just look at the poor thing, he's so thin come on where going to get you fed right now you must be hungry." Yuki Ikari said as she dragged her nephew into the kitchen. Saumi shook his head with a smile

Shinji wasn't sure what was going on the lady, he assumed was his Aunt had him seated at a table and was walking through the kitchen cooking something. He wasn't sure what to say or do all he knew was she was worried about him. Why were they doing this he was useless.

"Something smells good what are you making?" Saumi asked as he walked into the kitchen mostly because the smell didn't revolve around a Vegi today.

"It's just a couple of fried Eggs, and pancakes that's all." Yuki said as she continued with her cooking before she slapped her husband's hand with a spoon. "And they are not for you, they are for Shinji." Yuki said causing her husband's hand to retract before it was rubbed by its brother, as Saumi Scowled at his wife.

"Now women I'll have you know I'm the man of the house and." Saumi began but he never got to finish as his wife stared her husband down, still mixing the contents of the bowl.

Saumi was the first to break and sit at the table next to his nephew the Moment Yuki's back was turned he leaned over to his nephew. "I like to let her think she's in charge." Saumi said trying to save face with his nephew. Shinji was sitting there confused over the scene, where they fighting? "Remember Shinji where the men in this house, and we have the right to Oww." Saumi said as the man rubbed the spot on his head, where a spoon had collided.

"Now Shinji dear, remember to pay your Uncle no mind." Yuki said with a pleasant tone. "He's the man of the house, but I wear the pants." Yuki said as she poured some batter into a skillet to make the pancakes.

"But you're wearing a dress and he's wearing pants." Shinji said as the 4-year-old was still confused. Upon hearing this Yuki Gushed at the child's innocents, while Saumi started laughing. He'd a raised Children before with his lovely wife and It seemed somethings never changed when children where around.

(Scene Break later that evening)

Later in the evening. Shinji was being tucked in by his Aunt and uncle. He was told if he needed anything they were down the hall. His Aunt left first but his Uncle stayed a bit longer and sat down on the bed he'd been given.

Saumi had watched the boy throughout the day, and he saw that Shinji had been quit and scared of today events. He seemed laxed when they had breakfast, but he had been quit after that, and Saumi knew the boy was upset about what had been happening recently. What 4-year-old wouldn't be, but Shinji needed to know that He had people here to help him through this.

"I know this must be strange and confusing your here with two strangers you don't know." Saumi said as he tried to help the boy out. "Now I know I'm just some old goat but Me and your Aunt are here for you, we're your family and we love you do you understand that?" Saumi asked sitting on the boy's bed talking to the child. Who nodded his head as he began to cry with everything flowing out at once

"But I'm useless father said." Shinji began but was cut off by Saumi.

"Your father is a fool. Who's afraid of and doesn't understand the needs of others." Saumi said interrupting his nephew, keeping his anger for the man out of his voice. His eye's softened as he looked at Shinji. "Shinji What defines you are the actions you make. Not what someone else decides on a whim." Saumi said getting a little nod from the young boy as he cried. Saumi brought Shinji into a hug and held the boy until he calmed down. "Just remember with Great Power Comes Great Responsibility." Saumi said as Shinji was confused by that.

"Huh?" Shinji asked upon hearing those words.

"It's our old family motto then again it's something I came up with." Saumi admitted a bit as he smiled at Shinji.

"What does it mean?" Shinji asked curious to what it meant.

"It means that if you are given power then it's you responsibility on how it's used." Saumi said telling Shinji what he needed to know.

Shinji wasn't sure on those words after all what constituted, great power? It was a conundrum yet hearing it from his uncle... it made Shinji feel connected to his mother oddly enough. "Thank you, Uncle." Shinji said quietly as Saumi looked at the boy.

"Not a problem, now get to sleep." Saumi said as he got up walking to the door and turning off the light. Shinji felt better after the talk, but not by much he was still upset. He missed his mother, and he would for a long time. But he had a family here, to help him through this troubled time.

(Scene Break 9 years later)

Shinji had been living with his aunt and uncle for well over 9 years now. The now 13-year-old boy was the first to admit that he was living his best life with these two. His uncle was an honorable yet funny man, who always had a strange idea or random thought. In the time Shinji lived here they became close such as taking Shinji fishing, camping, and swimming. The latter of which Shinji was scarred of beyond belief, but his Uncle was determined to teach the boy how to swim and to face his fears.

"Fear is the lack of courage and understanding but courage is acting in spite of fear." His Uncle would say when Shinji was scarred to do something, And so his uncle taught him how to overcome those fears. His uncle Saumi was always a wellspring of knowledge or wise words even if he can be funny at time.

Then there was his Aunt Yuki Always dotting over him in concern and telling him and Uncle to be careful when they went fishing or to do any other activity that may happened out of her sight. Saumi often compared her to a mother hen only more dangerous and when asked why Saumi explained that Yuki could probably make Gendo wet his pants and prostrate himself for forgiveness. Shinji would have paid to see that theory made real.

Shinji got a good look at that one day when his aunt was very angry at Saumi one time, he took the wheels off of Aunt Yuki's car to in order to test a theory he saw in a science magazine. Long story short she was livid upon finding the car in cinderblocks with a note promising to return them. Saumi returned them but they were all flat when he returned them. Yuki made the man sleep in the car until they got the wheels replaced. Shinji knew right then and there Yuki was a force of nature that you do NOT cross.

Today the now thirteen-year-old boy was grabbing his belongings for school. It was his normal commute as he dressed in his school uniform. But today was special a field trip had been scheduled to take Shinji's class to a major lab in the city. Shinji's room was mostly empty and very well kept which was odd for a child his age. However, there were still spots here, and there that made it a teen's room such as the pile of comics, on his desk or the clothes on the floor.

Once he was ready Shinji headed downstairs and found his uncle Saumi was at the table reading the funny's from the newspaper, giggling to himself like a small boy. He'd long since given up on the actual news, he found it to depressing for his taste especially after second Impact. It was always the same things, poverty in other countries, famine, death, civil wars as well as many other problems. They had gotten better in the last 13 years, but there were still problems even now.

Yuki Ikari was making breakfast for everyone, which consisted of Miso soup rice and some toast. At current she was flustering around the kitchen looking for some sugar.

"Dear, do you know where the sugar is at?" Yuki said as she keep looking around as Saumi keep looking at the paper and said to her, "Did you check the pantry?"

"Yes, I did, it was the first place I looked," Yuki said as she keep looking before Saumi then said to her, "Did you look behind the flour?"

"The flour, why would it be behind- Oh it was there," Yuki said as she look behind the flour as Saumi said where to look, there it was the sugar as she smile and said, "Thank you dear."

"Not a problem," Saumi said as then foots steps was heard as they see Shinji coming down fully dress in a full black uniform with four out of five buttons all button up with a bag in hand and a camera around his neck as well, as being a part of a news club for the school he became the photographer and his main job more or less is to take pictures for school related moments as Yuki looks at him and said, "Oh look at you, all neatly dressed up."

"You say that every time Aunt Yuki," Shinji said while rubbing his head a bit as Yuki came up to him and said, "I know, but see you like this make me happy to see, and also…"

She soon button up the last button on his school uniform and went on saying, "I always have to fix you up as well."

"Given he has his club activity, schoolwork, not to mention his Cello lessons. He hardly have the time to keep himself fix up," Saumi said as he remember all the times that both him and his wife help Shinji out, as they gotten him a camera for his club, a bringing him a cello that once belong to his mother as Shinji decided to take lesson for it, which paid off with Shinji able to play it like a real musician can, Shinji even preformed in a talent contest with his cello and did well as Saumi and Yuki was very proud of Shinji that day as he gotten first in the show.

"Oh he has time alright, enough time to read those comic book you keep getting him," Yuki said as she knew Saumi was the one that keep getting Shinji a new comic ever week or so, mostly for Shinji to be a normal teenager as well, get him to relax and forget all the stress of life by reading old hero comic books, as even after the 2nd impact super hero comic had slowed down but the old stuff are still around and Shinji not only reads them but collect them also, even saving the rarest of them in another pile.

With Shinji he could only smile at his uncle as ever sense that day he meet him at the train station, he has been more of a father to him than his real father Gendo has ever been, as Saumi saw greatness with Shinji that help him get far in life and still do, with Shinji said to them, "I do enjoy reading them as well Aunt Yuki, but I still keep up with my schoolwork first."

"See there, nothing to worry about," Saumi said as Yuki finish cooking up breakfast and place on the table while she said, "Fine, I won't' say anymore. Now let have breakfast."

"Thank Aunt Yuki," Shinji said as he join them at the table as he enjoy his miso soup with some toast, smile at this moment, wanting to do this every day with his Aunt and Uncle, but sadly time will change all and tragic will follow, it was only a matter of time.

(scene break)

At the school as Shinji was heading into the bus, looking around for a seat to sit at, but many were taken and some put their bag down to save it for a friend of theirs, by the look of things Shinji didn't have much for friends that would share a seat with him and just grab an empty seal by the window as with that, the teacher came up in the bus as well as he look to all the student in there and said, "I see we're all set and ready to go, but a quick reminder to everyone. This isn't a normal trip to a museum or the Aquarium, we're going to a LabCorp where they are handling many sensitive project and equipment, so that means no horse play, no messing with things, and no pranks. Last thing we need is someone accidently getting toxic waste spill onto you and grow a third arm or something, do we understand?"

"Yes sensei," everyone said on the bus with the teacher give a firm nod and said, "Alright then, lets enjoy our time, and have fun."

After that the teacher took a seat near the front, which is always the teacher seat with the bus going into gear and started driving off, with Shinji looking out the window as he wonder what a bio research lap was going to be like, as he has been into science stuff as well with his Uncle teaching him the wonders of science… that is if it doesn't get them in trouble with Aunt Yuki that is.

(Scene Break at the Lab)

Shinji was unimpressed it was just a normal looking building but then again, he was likely expecting it to look like an American comic book or the local manga. 'I suppose that nothings like a comic book.' he thought with an amused grin. Inside the building. There were many different labs, set up for the viewing for the public. There where, many of them. So many that they spanned up, to other levels of the lab.

Inside the lab Shinji saw so many things that amazed him inside such as an Eel that may be one of the last of its kind. After Second Impact the ecosystem was screwed up and many species of animals had died out from the event. Those that were in captivity were spared but this opted mankind to study and experiment on these animals in an attempt to preserve them. Rumor has it that the animals were being augmented to survive in a new environment.

Currently they were at another area of the lab that had a great number of glass cases. "And these spiders have been genetically altered, to combine the multiple traits, of these spiders right here." A woman in a lab coat said leading the tour. "Because of second Impact spider population's died dramatically. In the future we hope to release them into the wild." She said before giving another fact about their work here. "But that's still years ahead, we may never succeed. We've only managed to make thirteen actual spiders in the last 5 years." She said before directing her attention to the class. "Any questions?" The woman asked, finishing her little lecture as she inquired any question's.

"Ya there's a spider missing." Takashi, a boy who liked to terrorize Shinji and several other of his classmates, pointed out after ogling the case. Shinji counted each container looking at multiple red and blue spiders and noticing that the number of spiders was off.

"Oh, that's odd." The woman said after counting them. "Perhaps someone is testing on it." She said unconcerned as the group moved on. Seeing this she took this as a chance to go and take a break. So, taking the chance as well Shinji walked around a bit to explore keeping his head down.

'Oh well I guess there, just a couple of boring spiders.' Shinji thought to himself as he looked at the spider. 'This is kind of boring, but it's interesting at least.' Shinji thought as he saw one particular group of them. 'Must be sad everyone hated your kind but now they're doing everything they can to save it.' Shinji mentally mused looked at the spiders. 'Funny I wonder if you all hate yourselves hate the way you came into this world?' Shinji thought even though he knew the Spider's can't talk back to him. Shinji began to walk off once more unaware of a red and blue spider crawling up his pants leg.

(Scene Break Later during Lunch)

After about a good hour or so the teacher called for lunch and Shinji took it as a reprieve from people. Shinji but his earbuds on to block out the world as he began to eat his food. The Spider from before however continued its journey to an ideal spot. Perhaps it was cocky or perhaps it was suicidal regardless of it followed its instincts towards its goal.

Opening his bento Shinji began to eat his food to sedate his hunger. All was well until suddenly he started to noticed something crawling on his skin where his neck was. Before Shinji could respond he felt a sharp sting on his neck causing Shinji to yelp in pain and by instinct slap the spot it came from. Pulling away from his neck Shinji saw he had killed a spider and by the looks of it the spider had been a large one. How the heck did he fail to notice it before it bit him?

He then felt something wet warm drippling down his neck which opted him to check it. Pulling away Shinji saw a red smear on his hand and quickly realized it was blood. This startled Shinji as he didn't realize that the spider did that level of damage with just one bite. Shinji quickly took a napkin to wipe it off until he didn't feel the blood dripping down anymore. However, he did head to the bathroom to double check that the spider did not leave any lasting damage on him.

Upon arriving to the nearby bathroom Shinji found where the spider had bitten him. It was there he saw that there was a bump at the spot of the bite. He also noticed that the spot was turning red before his very eyes. 'Well at least I'm not bleeding.' Shinji thought to himself as he then headed off so he can finish his lunch.

However, when Shinji returned, he saw that his lunch was gone. He didn't have to look around for long when a new voice cut in. "Hey Ikari lose your lunch." Takashi said as he got Shinji's attention. Shinji looked over to find that the slightly older boy was holding his launch. "Here oh Ops." Takashi said over acting, as he pretended to trip. The lunch went flying backwards, off the side of a balcony. "Oh, sorry man my bad." Takashi said as he walked away with a smug sneer. Shinji ran over to the balcony to see the food had splattered all over the place on the first floor. This caused his face to fall looking at his now ruined lunch.

(Scene Break Later After School)

Shinji was later seen making his way back home after another day at school. Of course, it seems he was under the weather on his way. But his normal gloomy attitude seemed to keep people from asking. Upon arriving home Shinji found his uncle replacing a lightbulb that had gone bad. "In the beginning there was Darkness until God decreed, let there be light." Saumi said as the lightbulb came on causing Yuki to laugh a bit.

"Good boy. God will be thrilled." Yuki complimented her husband in a teasing manner. "Just don't fall on your ass." She added but that also reminded Saumi of the situation they were in.

"I'm already on my ass, Yuki." The old man chuckled as he got down from the chair he was using. "When the plant's senior electrician is laid off after—after thirty-five years, what else would you call it?" He said before he then put the chair back beside some cabinets as he continued on about his predicament. "I am on my ass." Saumi said showing that he was out of the job, and they needed to pay the bills.

"Hand me that dish, the green one." Yuki said to her husband as she prepared dinner while letting her husband share his suffering.

"Corporation is downsizing the people and, uh, upsizing their profits." The man said as he handed Yuki a green-rimmed bowl.

"Ah, Saumi, you'll get another job somewhere." Yuki reassured him as she took the bowl.

"Yeah, well, let's look at the paper and see." Saumi said as he grabbed a nearby newspaper and walked over to the dining room table. "Here are the want ads. What have we got here?" He said as he went through the want ads. "Computer—Computer salesman, Computer engineer, Computer analyst—" Suami listed off before he sighed a bit. "My lord, even the computers need analysts these days. Yuki, I'm well over sixty-eight years old. I'm too old for computers." He bemoaned seeing that he was a man who was stuck in the past unable to keep up with the changing world. "And besides, I have a family to provide for." He added as his first thought had always been towards his family, not like his no-good brother.

Yuki had then walked into the dining room as she carried out a steaming pot from the kitchen whilst using potholders to set it down onto the table. "I love you, and Shinji loves you." Yuki said to Saumi as she placed her hands on his shoulders. "You're the most responsible man I've ever known. We've been down and out before, but somehow we've survived." She said assuring him that everything would be ok.

"Yes, I suppose your right." Saumi said with a sigh letting his wife ease his concerns.

Just then, the elderly couple heard the sound of the front door opening. They turned and headed over where they saw that Shinji had returned as he was already removing his shoes at the door. "I'm home." Shinji said as he began to head into the house proper.

"Welcome home." Yuki said as Saumi checked on Shinji happy to see the boy was home.

"How was the field trip?" Saumi asked as he looked to Shinji curious to hear how the fieldtrip had gone.

"Sorry I don't really feel so good." Shinji said as he began to head towards the stairs. Shinji didn't know why but ever since school ended; he had been feeling under the weather.

"Don't you want something to eat." Yuki asked with concern for Shinji. After all a growing boy needs food and Yuki while a health nut was not one to let her grandnephew leave without a nice meal.

"Not right now." Shinji admitted as he began to head towards his room. "Sorry I just want to sleep this off." Shinji added as he then headed up the stairs. Shinji wasn't sure what was wrong, but he really needed to lay down for a bit. This of course confused his aunt and uncle, but Shinji was sure it was nothing.

Saumi and Yuki stood there confused for a moment. "Now what was that about?" Saumi asked with concern for Shinji.

(Later up in Shinji's Room)

Shinji had removed his blazer and shirt and stood in the room shirtless. He was dizzy and disoriented be it from hunger or something else. The room was spinning around him as he tried to land on the bed. Instead, he fell and hit the side of it before sliding to the floor. Once Shinji hit the floor, he grabbed the blanket with no energy to get up as it felt like he was on fire.

What most of humanity save for very few did not know was that mankind originated from the black moon, Lilith. The black moon and Lilith were sent down by an alien race to propagate life across the cosmos. Mankind was born with Knowledge the ability to grow, to learn, to adapt, and to evolve. However not even the First Ancestral Race could ever predict an event that was taking place in this very room.

Inside Shinji's bloodstream was the venom of the spider that bit him. The spiders venom reached deeper than even regular venom could reach, his very DNA. The Spider that bit Shinji was no normal spider by the standards of humans or otherwise. It was changing Shinji to become something more something greater. For Shinji it was a nightmare of pain and sickness as in the back of his mind it felt like something was crawling inside him many somethings in fact. The process was a painful one and yet Shinji could not stop what had already begun.

The helix that made up his DNA was being altered. A segment was removed for the sole purpose of adding a new segment to it. When the segment was added it proceeded on with the changes inside Shinji. Everything inside was changing, and those changes reflected physically to Shinji. Any weaknesses in his body were corrected, eyesight, breathing, mental capacity, and even the smallest of fractures were corrected. His muscle mass were being augmented as his bone density was increased to support the changes better. During the entire scene, a spider outside the window saw it all and saw the changes Shinji was going through. It may have been an animal but even animals recognize one of their own.

All in all, Shinji was on the path to becoming something... Spectacular.

(Scene Break the next Day)

When Shinji woke up, he found himself on the floor to the sound of the ticking clock in the room. As he rose up, he rubbed his eyes in confusion as to why he was on the floor... and was it morning already? As he rose Shinji looked around the entire room felt strange somehow, but he could not tell why or how.

While standing up, he was looking out the window seeing how bright it was, which is normal for clear skies but he knew the weather forecast said it was supposed to be cloudy for the entire week, but to his surprise he sees a spider in the corner of his window area, seeing it clear at day with a new web it created, and he wasn't even close to his window, he could see it across the room with ease, which was strange, as thing would look blur for him if things were small or far away, and did get his eyes check a few months ago as the doctor says within a few years give or take he may have to get glasses, but his vision was all clear.

Shinji soon turn to the mirror to see if something was up with his eyes as he check them the only way possible by pulling down an eye lid to see anything, but his eyes were all clear and healthy looking as well, as he was about to turn away, until he notice something off as he never looked at his own body closely before for a while knowing he was just a skinny teenager, but to his surprise he saw he had muscles, with his chest more beefed up and his arm almost twice as big from before, and on top of that, he also notice he had grew close to 6 inches taller given he remember how high his mirror was compare to himself.

Looking down at himself to make sure this wasn't some weird mirror trick going on, but he look and felt his own muscles being sold yet soft to the touch, He even flex his arm muscles and saw how big they are now, feeling the tightness and bulging of said muscle, he even saw he had six pack of abs, which is very strange for him as he never work out before and started thinking that he was still tired or maybe even still asleep or something.

He soon pinch himself and felt the pain, so he wasn't asleep while also felt wide awake and full of energy, so he wasn't tried either. He soon check the spot where the spider had bitten him at the other day, which he saw was still there, but it wasn't as bad looking as before, in fact it look like it healed up but still felt a small scar place on his skin with a blue vein near it.

Suddenly there was a knock at his door as it as Aunt Yuki who was knock, while she call out saying, "Shinji?"

"Yeah?" Shinji responded telling that he was awake now as his Aunt went on saying, "Are you alright in there? You didn't seem to be feeling well last night."

"Ah…" Shinji went as he wonder what he should say as he has no idea what is going on with him right now, but he feels alright, check he felt great more or less as he said to his Aunt, "Yeah, I'm fine."

"Are you better this morning, have any change?" his Aunt asked him as Shinji could say, "Change? Yeah, big change."

"Well hurry up, you're going to be late," his Aunt said before she went on her way as he said, "Right."

After that he quickly looked around for his school clothing and uniform, as he quickly put on his shirt and pants as thankfully his clothes still fit, as his Aunt and uncle gotten his uniform a few inches longer in some places to help him grow into, and which he was glad they did as he look completely normal at least on the outside.

(Later downstairs)

Shinji rush down looking very energetic before jumping off the last few steps down the stair which were at least three and a half or so foot drop and as he landed a bit loudly which surprise his Aunt and Uncle, especially his uncle as he was drinking his morning coffee as he said, "My goodness, I thought you were sick."

"I got better," Shinji said as his Aunt and Uncle sighed with relief seeing Shinji was healthy and ready to go as he started heading to the door as he grab his school bag on his way out as his aunt said to him, "You haven't eaten anything from last night. do you want something to eat?"

"Ah sure," Shinji said as he ran back and grab some toast with some butter and jam on it with his Aunt following up with another quest as she said, "Do you have your lunch money?"

"Yeah, I do," Shinji said as he always keeps his allowance money on hand for lunches as his Uncle said, "Hey Shinji, don't forget we're painting the kitchen after school. You got that?"

"Sure, Uncle Saumi. Don't start without me," Shinji said to his uncle as Saumi then said to him, "And don't start without me either."

Saumi smiled as he went back to his meal. "Teenagers all the raging hormones." Saumi said as Yuki chuckled at her husband's words.

(Later that day at School)

Shinji's lessons had been the same old same old. He didn't interact much and mostly kept to himself. His mind however was on what happened this morning. The Vision he could ignore but the sudden muscle growth well Shinji had to admit it was impressive if not strange. Heading out to lunch Shinji opted for the courtyard after getting a bento from the cafeteria. The roof was closed for the time being, apparently a new fence was being installed.

So here he was in the school courtyard with an open Bento and chopsticks in hand. Taking a bite out of his food Shinji mind wondered over what had happened. He was curious to say the least, but he didn't think much of it. However, before he could even consider anything else Shinji felt this sudden buzzing in his mind and as if on instinct he moved and caught a girl who tripped. Her Bento went flying and in turn Shinji caught it and ensured that the food landed inside the bento.

"Wow." The girl said as Shinji was surprised at what he did.

"Yeah." Shinji said before realizing what was happening and then let the girl go once, she could stand on her own. "Sorry." Shinji apologized before he walked off to find another spot to eat. Once he found the spot however Shinji noticed something else was off such as the fact his chopsticks were now stuck to his hand. This caught Shinji by surprised as he looked at his hand for a moment. Looking around hoping no one saw him Shinji tried to be subtle and remove the chopsticks only to find they were attached to webbing much to his shock.

Shinji was wide eyed by this for a moment as he then looked at his hand. Then Shinji maneuvered his hand for a moment and when he pressed down with his middle and ring finger a web line shot out and attached to a forgotten bento across from him. Looking around Shinji was hoping for no one saw him as he now had no idea how to severe the line. Shinji tried to act casual but instead he yanked on the web causing the bento to come flying at him. This caused Shinji to move and avoid it but in doing so Takashi, who was sitting behind Shinji with his friends, got hit by the bento instead.

Laughter hit Takashi as he was already angry as is. Shinji knew he had to run and thus he got up and began to make his way out of the courtyard. Unfortunately, the bento was still stuck to him and his web so as Takashi turned towards the source, he saw Shinji was running away. Unfortunately, many eyes were on Shinji as he tried to leave and as he got through the door the Bento was caught. Shinji had to yank a few times to get himself free, but he managed it eventually.

(Later in the school halls)

Shinji was heading to his shoe locker wanting to get out as soon as possible. He knew it was only a matter of time before Takashi caught him. It was practically the end of the school day as is so Shinji may as well bolt while he can. However, the buzzing in his brain returned it was like a tingle and when it hit Shinji's body moved to avoid a punch from Takashi. The punch missed as Takashi towered over Shinji ready to cause him harm.

"You think your funny Ikari?" Takashi asked as he glared at Shinji. It was always the quiet ones and Shinji fit the bill.

"I'm sorry but I really don't want a fight Takashi." Shinji said hoping to ease the situation.

"I wouldn't want to fight me either freak." Takashi said and thus he swung at Shinji. A crowd was gathering as Takashi now had his fists up. He then swung at Shinji who dodged it with ease thanks to that buzzing in his brain. Shinji was surprised at how he was actively predicting how Takashi was moving and acting accordingly. Soon Takashi tried for a wide punch but instead Shinji bent his body back by his legs and avoided it with ease.

Just then one of Takashi's friends came from behind and tried to jump Shinji. The buzzing returned and Shinji humped and flipped over the friend causing him to crash into Takashi. Shinji was surprised by what he did and seeing he could actually win this put his hands up if only in self-defense. Takashi roared in fury and sent a barrage of punches at Shinji who managed to avoid each and every one of them before Shinji grabbed Takashi's arm. Shinji saw his newfound strength had the edge as he painfully bent Takashi's arm with ease. Shinji then finished it off with a punch and to everyone's surprised the punch sent Takashi flying across the area and into the path of one of the teachers.

The teacher had a cup of coffee that landed on the student causing him pain as Shinji was wide eyed by this. When eyes went towards him Shinji was shocked at what had happened and did the only thing that he was good at... he ran away. Bolting out of the school Shinji headed into the city trying to make sense over what had just happened in there.

(Later over in the city)

Shinji arrived outside and ran into an alleyway close to the school before leaning against the wall gasping for breath. "What's going on?" Shinji asked as he looked at his hands when he noticed something. The back of his wrist had these white spots in them as he recalled the web incident from earlier. Shinji then looked up and saw a spider there spinning its web almost like a sign in some sense. He then recalled the bite mark on his neck as he began to connect the dots.

"No way." Shinji said as his eyes widened in shock. His eyes then went to his hands as he began to see deeper then he could before. From his own fingertips and palms Shinji saw these small, barbed hairs growing from them too small to be seen but still noticeable all the same. If he was correct, these were not hairs but were in fact setules it's how spiders are able to crawl on walls. Looking up Shinji thought for sure he was going mad because if these things were what he believed them to be then in theory he could actually crawl on walls. "I mustn't run away." Shinji said to himself and repeated it a few times as his mantra.

Once he was ready Shinji in turn stuck his hand to the wall and was amazed at how it stuck to the wall effortlessly. His left hand joined the right and in turn Shinji began to climb up the wall like a spider can. His feet soon joined his hands after he started and as Shinji did this, he could not believe what was happening. Shinji looked down for a moment and saw how far he had climbed, and he had yet to fall. Well, if this was a dream might as well enjoy it and if not then it's smart to see just what he can do.

(Later up on the rooftops)

Shinji was cheering as he was seen jumping across the building tops. He landed on the next building without needing to roll to distribute the momentum. It was absolutely amazing, and Shinji was not afraid to admit it. His reflexes and dexterity have greatly improved over night and Shinji could say without a doubt that the strength was a nice bonus. As he kept moving Shinji began recalling the augmentations the lab spiders had and how they could be applied to him.

If his memory was correct, he had strength, precognition, wall crawling, and then finally... web spinning. Shinji's fun came to a halt as he stopped at one building where he saw another a bit further away from him. Shinji tried to trace his memory back to how he shot the web line before. He removed the chopsticks found them attached to a web line and then his hand moved where his fingers were... yes. Pressing his middle and ring finger down Shinji fired off another web line just like he did at school. Once the initial test was successful Shinji fired another one and once it attached to a crane across the way he grabbed it.

"Ok... this is crazy." Shinji said as he began climbing onto the ledge and looked over it. He gulped before he got ready to perform his first bout of web swinging. Shinji gulped a bit and repeated his mantra once more before he jumped. He screamed in panic as he swung across the way but alas Shinji for, he forgot one important thing when it comes to this, the breaks. So, the result was as expected as Shinji did not know how to stop and with it, he ended up crashing into the wall before losing his grip on the web and falling.

All he could say to what happened was once thing. "Itai." Shinji said from the ground as he laid there for a moment just until the pain went away. This was going to take a lot of work and Shinji recalled his uncle's words. With great power comes great responsibility. He now had power, so it was his responsibility to learn to control it.

(Scene Break That Same Evening)

Shinji had spent several hours practicing with these new powers. Most of them were easy to figure out but web swinging was the one he needed to work on the most. However, due to this he lost track of time and with it the promise he made his uncle about the kitchen. So, bolting he eventually arrived home knowing he may have disappointed his uncle.

Entering the house Shinji found the paint supplies were all finished and the worst part the kitchen was done. Shinji cringed at this knowing he messed up lost track of time and focused on something else. Plus, if he was right his uncle may have heard about what happened at school today. Just then he heard movement and to his shock he saw his uncle there.

"Oh, your back." Saumi said almost like he didn't seem bothered Shinji didn't show up.

"I'm sorry uncle I had something going on and I lost track of time." Shinji began and Saumi put his hands up.

"Its fine Shinji, come on let's talk for a moment." Saumi said as Shinji knew what was coming next. They sat down and thus Saumi got down to why he wanted to talk. "I got a call from your school they said you got into a fight and ran off." Saumi said much to Shinji shame. "I'm not mad I just want to know your side of the story." Saumi said as he trusted his nephew.

"I didn't want to fight but I even said I didn't want to fight but he just..." Shinji began and thus Saumi stopped him.

"It's fine Shinji if you did it in self-defense then you had no choice." Saumi said making it clear that he wasn't angry that Shinji fought. "I just want you to pick your battles wisely ok." Saumi said wanting Shinji to understand that he should fight unless it's in self-defense.

"I'm sorry." Shinji apologized as he felt like he let his uncle down. It wasn't the anger that hurt it was the look and tone of disappointment.

"Hey, you gave that boy a mean right hook but just remember that with great power." Saumi began but Shinji smiled a bit at that one.

"Come great responsibility I know." Shinji said nodding understanding what his uncle meant.

"Alright now let's have some leftovers... and sneak a bit of junk food while we're at it before your aunt catches wind." Saumi said as Shinji laughed a bit as Saumi always knew to put a smile on his face. However, as Shinji made his way through to the kitchen, he noticed a pile of papers on the table with stamps that said overdue. Seeing this Shinji realized that while they tried to hide it, his aunt and uncle were struggling with the bills. And with his new powers Shinji began to get an idea on how to help his relatives.

(Later up in Shinji's room)

Shinji sat in his room as he began looking through newspaper and magazine ads. Digging through he was trying to find something that would help his relatives get the bills paid. If he can use these new... gifts to help them he would. He owed them so much after they took him in, it's the least he could do. He soon found what he was looking for, apparently there was a sort of talent competition going on nearby the prize money may be able to help pay the bills.

But Shinji was then faced with another problem he wasn't one for being the center of attention. And he certainly didn't want his relatives to get worried over what he was doing. So, in turn Shinji knew he needed a costume and a mask to hide himself. Pulling out his notebooks Shinji got to work on designing a costume.

(Scene Break a few days later)

Shinji had been hard at work developing a costume to wear. He drew up several designs as he needed a theme first of all. Seeing as he got these powers from a spider Shinji decided the best theme to work with was that of a spider. He drew up several design ideas with a small add on for other designs. One of the designs had bracelets for special uses, others had a cape designed to be like web, and there was even one design for a web like flaps under his arms with which he can glide. Shinji wasn't sure why he made those designs, but he kept working.

He wasn't just designing however as Shinji had been practicing with the webs he can spin. He found out that they were biodegradable and thus within the hour they would be gone. Lucky for him on that one. At the same time, he can also weave the webs into certain methods similar to a spider, but such a thing could at times take a while to do. He will need to figure out a way to expedite that process. That was not all Shinji had been doing as he had also spent that time practicing the use of his webbing firing off test shots with his web seeing the upper limits of them. So far, the results showed to be promising but he still had to practice some more.

And So far he try to quickly aim and shot a web at a soda pop bottle as he misses twice, as he hit a small rocket model he had on his dresser and a Photo frame that he accidently broken, with Shinji didn't realize how much force his web was causing while coming out of him, before he got it on the 3rd try and pull the soda pop bottle to him before he shot a web at his lamp and pull it to him with great force, and realize what he did as he was caught up in the moment as he quickly dodge the lamp while it broke behind him on the wall as he sighed a bit and said, "Should have been more careful with that."

"Shinji?" Yuki call out to Shinji that was follow up with was a knock at his door as his eyes widen as he quickly answer his door by opening a crack as Yuki look to Shinji and ask him, "What are you doing in there? I'm hearing a lot of noises."

"Sorry Aunt Yuki I was doing some exercising and accidently knock over a lamp," Shinji said as Yuki soon ask him, "Alright but why do you have your door close."

"I'm not… fully decent either," Shinji said as he didn't know what to say as Yuki roll her eyes a bit as she understand some people would work out naked or in underwear and thought Shinji was getting into that stuff as well as she said, "You've been acting so strangely Shinji. I swear you been reading too many of your uncles magazine."

"Sorry Aunt Yuki, I'll try to keep it down," Shinji said before he closes the door slowly before turning around see his room was filled with web that hasn't degraded yet and thought to himself, 'I went overboard a bit with this. Thank goodness Aunt Yuki didn't see this.'

Knowing his Aunt probably yell at him for doing something strange or maybe using silly string in his room, as he quickly clean up the webbing fast as he also learn that his ability can also make him not stick to his own webbing and able to clean it up fast too as he ball up the web and put it in the trash to finish degrading in there.

(scene break)

Shinji finally finish with his custom, even though it was just finished a prototype of his ideal suit. He didn't have the luxury of time seeing as the talent show was drawing close. All he could do was just to throw things together really quick to make it look decent enough. Plus, he got his web shooting down enough more or less that he seemed that he was ready and grab his school bag while stuff his prototype suit in it while going out in normal clothes, sense today was his weekend day off from school it was perfect for him.

He also has his perfect excuse to study at the library for a bit while also head towards the talent show place later on as he soon headed out.

(downstairs)

Saumi was working on a project of his as he was stripping copper wires, but his mind was on something else as he said to his wife, "Something is bothering him. Maybe he' too embarrassed to tell me. Or maybe I'm too embarrassed to ask him. I just don't know anymore."

"I'm sure he will tell you whatever it is bothering him in time dear, just be patient with him," Yuki said as she remember all the time Shinji had an awkward moment a few times in his life that she and Saumi had witness and took a bit to even talk about it as well as he said, "Yeah, you're probably right."

AT that moment Shinji came downstairs and said, "Hey Aunt Yuki, Uncle Saumi. I'm going to the library for a while for study."

"Hold on Shinji, I'll drive you there," Saumi said as Shinji look to him and said, "You don't have too, I'll just take the bus."

"No-no I need the exercise. Go on. Go-go," Saumi said as he grab his jacket and keys as he and Shinji went out to the car, with Shinji hope his uncle didn't catch on to his plan, a yes, he did have to do some studying as the library was the perfect excuse for that but afterword, he'll head to the talent show also. If he isn't caught, then he would have to be careful from then on out.

(Later)

In the car Shinji sat in the passenger side as his uncle drove them to his destination. They arrived not to long into the drive as they pulled to the side so Shinji can get off. "Thanks for the ride, Uncle Saumi." Shinji began but was cut off by Saumi.

"Now wait a minute Shinji we need to have a talk." Saumi said as Shinji clamed up a bit.

"Can we talk later?" Shinji asked as he really didn't want to be late.

"We can talk now." Saumi said still unaware of what Shinji was up to as he turned off the radio. "If you let me." Saumi said as Shinji saw there was no getting out of it.

"Uncle Saumi I don't know what we have to talk about or why." Shinji said and thus Saumi got down to it.

"Shinji, we haven't talked in so long your aunt Yuki, and I can barely recognize you." Saumi said as he got down to it. "You shirk your chores you have all these weird experiments in your room, and the less said about that fight you finished the better." Saumi said but his tone showed a bit of pride in Shinji for that one. "Look Shinji your changing me and my brother went through the same thing at your age." Saumi said as Shinji knew about Saumi's brother, but he also knew that he and Saumi aren't talking.

"Yeah...I kind of doubt that, sorry." Shinji said trying to be respectful to his uncle.

"Shinji these are the years where a young man changes into the man he's going to become for the rest of his life." Saumi said as he recalled how he and his brother changed. "Just be careful who you change into." Saumi said as he didn't want Shinji to end up like his brother a man who cared more about his secrets and his fortune then his own family. "That Takashi boy may have deserved what you got but just because you can beat him up does not mean you should. With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility." Saumi said as those were the words he lived by for his entire life.

"Uncle Saumi I'll be fine." Shinji said assuring his uncle everything will be ok. "I won't become a delinquent like Takashi so don't assume that I will." Shinji said his tone changing a bit.

"I'm not assuming Shinji and I don't mean to preach, and I know I'm not your father, but I only want what's best for you." Saumi said as he looked to Shinji as this caused Shinji to look down.

"Sorry but I can handle It." Shinji said as Saumi in turn nodded to Shinji before letting him go. Shinji left and headed towards the Library while waiting for his uncles car to get out of sight. However, what Shinji failed to realized what how this night would be the last time he would ever see his uncle again.

(Scene Break in the studio)

Shinji was currently dressed in a red outfit with jeans and sneakers. The hoodie he had on had a spider design painted on it while he had a red ski-mask on his head and goggles over his eyes. Shinji also had what looked to be riding gloves on his hands as he wanted to make absolutely sure no one would recognize him. Call him paranoid but he also didn't want to openly advertise his powers either. As far as anyone knows he's simply using a bunch of gadgets to get the job done.

Shinji waited for his turn as he kept the gear on wanting to keep himself anonymous for as long as possible. Just then the announcer started up and in turn Shinji knew it was his time to shine. "Next time we have a man who can do everything a spider can the Amazing the Spectacular Spider-Man!" The man called out and thus Shinji sent a web line out and yanked himself onto the stage much to everyone's shock. Shinji managed to land on the chair that had been set up likely for a prior or later comedy act. Shinji landed and then smiled as he backflipped onto the wall and stuck to it much to everyone's shock and amazement.

Shinji didn't end his show there as he then sent out another web line and began to swing around the area thankful for the time spent practicing with it. Shinji still struggled but he managed to improvise using his precognition to adjust as needed. Everyone was applauding him for this bout as he waved at the crowd and even managed to give one of the younger audience members a high-five as he passed by them. For a moment Shinji felt like he was on top of the world that he was showing up everyone who doubted him or called him useless. For Shinji it felt like he was giving his father the big middle finger for abandoning him 9 years ago.

Shinji continued his show for the rest of his time as he even made sure to run across the walls before swinging again. He soon landed on the light fixtures and proceeded to fire web shots at several empty bottles knocking them all down. As Shinji did this, he could see how he could do this for the rest of his days. Traveling the country or even the world the Amazing Spider-Man an acrobatic wonder. Or maybe if he wanted, he can, use his strength to go into wrestling. Shinji's possibilities were endless... or so he thought.

(Scene Break after the show)

Shinji was making his way out with an envelope of billfolds in his hand. He got third place in while it was not much it should be enough to help cover some of his relative's expenses. Shinji smiled at this as he made his way out of the dressing rooms. However, the sound of yelling was heard and from it, Shinji looked over to the source of it. Shinji saw a man running his way and acting fast Shinji got out of the way via another hall. The man had a bag on his person and a gun, and it did not take Shinji long to figure out this man was a criminal.

Seeing this man Shinji chosen the path of least resistance and that was to stay out of the way. The security officers yelled after the man as Shinji kept out of the way. This wasn't his problem to get involved with, Shinji was no police officer, and he certainly was no hero. So, it was better to stay out of it and avoid being shot by the man. However, this decision would cost Shinji dearly, the final nail of the path he now walks weaved by a great web of fate.

(Scene Break The Ikari Household)

It was late at night when Shinji entered is neighborhood. He was now dressed in his regular outfit once more with a bag slung over his shoulder. Shinji kept his head down and had his SDAT playing in his ears. When the song stopped Shinji rewind the music keeping it on the same track constantly as he walked on home. It how he blocked out the world after all and it's how he wanted to keep it. Dealing with people it was just... too painful.

However, Shinji's musing were cut short when he saw sirens flashing up ahead. Seeing where the police cars were gathered Shinji's eyed widened in horror, it was his aunt and uncles house. Shinji started to run to the scene as he saw cops were keeping the neighbors out of the scene. Shinji ran but was stopped by the cops who tried to keep him out of the crime scene.

"Young man please stay back." The Officer said as Shinji would not.

"That's my uncles place!" Shinji yelled and upon hearing this the police let Shinji through. He entered and saw paramedics loading his aunt into the ambulance as Shinji looked at the scene with horror in his eyes. On the floor Shinji saw his uncle was there bleeding out as he looked horrified at the scene.

"What happened?!" Shinji asked as he looked to the police officer behind him.

"A home invasion he's been shot, we're about to take him to a hospital." The cop said not sure if Saumi would make it. "Your Aunt got grazed but she'll live." The cop added as Shinji was horrified over what was happening.

"Uncle Saumi." Shinji began trying to get his uncle to open his eyes. "Uncle Saumi." He repeated as Saumi began to open his eyes and see Shinji his nephew. Saumi looked around as if trying to figure out who was calling him when Shinji saw this. "Uncle Saumi." Shinji said as tears threaten to spill from his eyes.

"Shinji." Saumi said happy to see his nephew even in his final moment. He knew it was his time, and his only regret was that he wouldn't see the man Shinji would become.

"I'm here Uncle Saumi." Shinji said as he took his uncle's hand not wanting to let him go. However, the tears were already starting to spill as he was feeling the pain of loss all over again.

"Shinji." Saumi repeated as before the man breathed his last. When Shinji felt his uncle's hand go limp, he knew Saumi was gone died tragically by some punk with a gun.

"Don't worry we'll find the shooter." The Officer said but it would note that he may have had to hold down Shinji if he knew about his powers. For the first time Shinji felt a new emotion one he was not used to feeling, rage pure unbridled rage. he knew the shooter took his uncle's car since it was not here anymore. Shinji began to make his way up to his room as he knew one fact, he wasn't going to let the cops get that shooter not until Shinji tore him limb from limb.

Once Shinji was in his room he quickly began to change back into his Spider-Man outfit goggles and all. Once he was suited up, he headed out the window and used the trees to cover his escape. Once that was done, he began to jump between houses using all is speed and strength to head to the city.

Eventually houses made way for taller buildings and Shinji found himself moving higher and higher until he got to a good vantage point. Once there Shinji saw his uncles car recognizing it anywhere and seeing how wildly it was moving Shinji found his perp. Using his webs Shinji began to web swing rage consuming his every thought with revenge. Swinging from building-to-building Shinji made his way towards the shooters stolen car.

It didn't take long for Shinji to adjust as he soon landed on the shooters car surprising him. Shinji then raised his fist and punched it through the cars roof grabbing the shooter much to his horror. Shinji's face under the mask showed a rage never before seen in the normally timid boy. The shooter instead took his gun out and started firing it at the roof trying to hit Shinji. Shinji's Spider Sense tingled and with it jumped onto the top of a truck while glaring down at the car that now had several holes through the roof.

Shinji then saw an overpass and knowing he would not be able to make it on the truck Shinji proceeded to jump over it. Thankfully, his timing was right as he landed back on the truck he had been on prior. Seeing the car was within sight still Shinji launched himself towards it and in turn landed on the hood where he glared directly at the murderer through the window. Shinji punched through the window and grabbed the man by his throat. The action caused the driver to lose control forcing Shinji to let go when his spider sense warned him of a new danger.

Looking Shinji saw a crash was imminent and thus he proceeded to jump off the car. The Car crashed into a set of gates where it broke down. The Car was never designed to be a getaway car, and the shooter was learning this fact the hard way. He then ran into the building just as the cops were starting to swarm in. At the same time Shinji hung off the side of a building and saw the killer make his way into the warehouse. The Spider was on the hunt and this killer was his prey.

(Later inside of the Warehouse)

Inside the building the man in question was on a phone wearing a ski mask "What you mean?! You said if I did it, you'd pay me the other half." he said listening to the person on the other side of the phone. "How did you know about that?!" The man asked shocked that he was found out. "So, what it was chump change, and I needed a little extra." He said as he argued with the person on the other line.

Shinji had gotten into the Warehouse through the roof's skylight and began to crawl on the ceiling he found the man on the phone cursing about someone on the other line. Shinji carefully moved through the shadows seeing the man who mercilessly ripped his uncle from his life. Shinji was going to enjoy watching the life fade from this man's eyes.

"What the cops?" He asked shocked and concerned with a small int of fear. "You ratted me out?! Hey, I didn't come all the way to this city to." The man began but all he got was the Dial tone. "Hello? That bastard hung up." The man said as he threw the phone to the ground in anger. "Dammit I need to get out of here." The man said only to be interrupted by a voice.

"Sorry but I can't let you leave until you and me talk." The voice of Shinji said out loud as the man pulled out the gun, he had on him. "Who's there show yourself!" He demanded to whoever owned the voice. He then heard a noise from behind him that sounded like something falling which caused him to panic, turn around and fired off two shots from his gun. He went over to investigate it but what he found wasn't what he expected a clump of sticky string.

The man was getting scared, good Shinji wanted to make sure this man did not have a peaceful end. "Tell me why'd you break into that house why'd you kill that old man and hurt his wife?" Shinji asked from somewhere else sounding very angry.

"How do you know about the old man." The Shooter asked as he heard another noise causing him to shoot off two more rounds towards it.

Shinji smirked as he was getting the man terrified. "You missed." Shinji said after the man had fired his gun.

"Show yourself you little freak!" The man yelled trying to find where Shinji was hiding. "Where are you?!" He yelled looking around trying to find the thing hunting him down.

However, the shooter didn't see the figure lowering himself upside down from the ceiling, just like a spider. Shinji plan of attack was perfect he got the man's attention talking to him, the man was startled and shot his gun. If Shinji was right this man was using a revolver. This meant the man had a gun that can only hold six bullets at any given time. The man got even more scared after Shinji shot some web at some random object in the room, a bucket and then some boards on leaning against the wall. As the man became more panicked Shinji decided he was done with this. He then did something he hadn't done with his powers before but felt very natural he began to lower himself on a web while hanging upside down he was now behind the man.

"You seem jittery." Shinji said causing the man's eyes to widen in shock. "Are worried about something." Shinji asked as the man then turned around as fast, he could with his gun. Shinji reacted faster than the man did with little effort webbing up the gun. Shinji let go of the web holding him up to the ceiling where he kicked the man in the chest knocking him back. Shinji did NOT give this man time to breath as he grabbed him and slammed his face through the door windows of the room. Shinji then tossed the man into some random objects before making his way over.

The cornered and terrified shooter pulled out a knife and swung wildly at Shinji. Shinji managed to avoid the knife attacks with ease before he backflipped and sent the knife to the wood beam above where it stabbed. Shinji then proceeded to kick the man to the window leading to the outside.

"Don't hurt me! Just give me a chance please just give me a chance!" The man begged as this served to anger Shinji further. How dare this murderer beg for his life after mercilessly taking his uncles life.

"What about my uncle did you give him a chance?" Shinji asked before grabbing the man and hoisting him to the window. "DID YOU!?" Shinji yelled as he glared at the man wanting to take in his entire face before he died. However, as the light shined through Shinji's eyes widened in shock as he looked at the man. This man was the same man from the show the same one who robbed the place who Shinji didn't try to stop.

The dots began to connect in Shinji's mind as he let go of the man. Shinji stumbled back as he grabbed his head horrified over what he had learned. 'If I had stopped him then this wouldn't have happened." Shinji thought as the pieces fell into place. 'Uncle Saumi would still be.' Shinji thought to himself when his mind halted as the world around him shattered. 'Oh my God.' Shinji mentally gasped as his eyes widened in horror over what he did what he allowed to happen by doing nothing. 'I killed Uncle Saumi.' Shinji mentally realized as he looked at his shaking hands in horror.

However, the crook smirked as he had his gun and pointed it at Shinji from behind. Shinji's spider sense went off and in response Shinji avoided the first shot of the man's gun. Shinji then webbed up the gun before he could fire off the final bullet. The gun could not match up to the tensile strength of the web and in turn the gun exploded in his hand. The man cried out in pain as he held his now bloody hand. The Man cursed while hugging his hands to his chest in pain just before he tripped on something as he fell out the window. Going wide eye Shinji ran to the window hoping to avoid staining his hands with anymore blood but alas he was too late. When the man had hit the ground Shinji saw his body spasming on the ground as could see a little pool of blood forming around him. The man was dead, and it was all Shinji's fault. The boy then looked up and could see the cops where just outside the gates of the warehouse Shinji decided it was time to go.

(Scene Break an hour later)

Shinji was now on the roof of the hospital his aunt was staying at. The doctors had said she was going to be fine the bullet that hit her went clean through her upper left shoulder she would be fine after a while at least a month to heal properly. However right now, Shinji was sitting on top of the roof crying to himself over what had happened if he'd stopped that man or if instead of going to that show, he would have been there to do something to stop this tragedy. There were so many things he could have done differently tonight but he now understood the true meaning of his uncle's words.

"With great power there must also come even greater responsibility." Shinji said to himself it wasn't controlling the powers but how he used them. And to Shinji's shame he had used them irresponsibly doing whatever he wanted to earn extra cash and feed his ego because he could. He felt so ashamed of himself, but he wouldn't let that happen again ever.

Shinji had been given a Great Power and now it was his responsibility to use it for the betterment of others. But if Shinji was going to do this, he needed a new suit. "I have to be responsible just because I can doesn't mean I shouldn't but If I can help others then I should." Shinji said as he stood up, he wouldn't let something like this happen again not to himself his Aunt and most certainly not to others. For the first time in his life Shinji made a comment he planned on keeping for life. A look of determination adorned his features as he now had the will to be something more. All his life ever since he was four, he was just existing hating himself fearful of being hurt by others. Shinji hated himself yes, but he hated that he now had a legitimate reason to hate himself. Saumi he always saw greatness in Shinji a greatness he could never see himself, now was the time to prove him right.

(Scene Break NERV HQ Tokyo-3)

Commander Gendo Ikari sat at his desk after tonight his scenario would be back on track. For the last nine years he'd considered ways to mold his son into the instrument he needed abandoning him at a young age and leaving him with an uncle he didn't know was supposed to work. But apparently, he didn't know enough about the old man named Saumi who encourage and taught his son along with his Aunt showing him love and affection. This was the opposite of what Gendo needed for his son in this delicate scenario.

But he couldn't come up with anything short of killing the person or persons closest to him in this case his Aunt or Uncle. With one of or both of their death's Shinji would become reclusive and fearful of getting closer to others for fear of being hurt. It was a simple matter of finding a simpleton to do it. So, he found some petty thief, gave him a gun, and some money with a promise for more and he becomes your lap dog. Gendo got reports from the local police the man was now dead along with his uncle in-law Saumi yes with this everything would go according to plan, and his scenario was back on track nothing could disrupt it now.

Just then his phone rang and Gendo glared at the device for a moment. Looking at the caller ID Gendo saw the label SEELE-2 on it. Why was HE calling now of all times? Gendo swallowed his resolve and picked up the phone to answer. "This is Ikari." Gendo greeted but it was the voice he both hated and relied on.

"No Rokubungi I'm Ikari you simply married into the family." A man on the other end of the line said with a cold tone of indifference.

"SEELE-2 what do I owe the pleasure of this call?" Gendo asked as he knew this particular member of SEELE was second only to Lorenz Keel himself.

"I am aware that you had my brother killed." SEELE-2 said his tone clearly showing he was aware and Gendo knew this.

"Our scenario was being compromised by his presence I took action." Gendo said but SEELE-2 huffed a bit.

"Are we speaking of the scenario of SEELE or the Scenario you and I hide behind their backs?" SEELE-2 asked showing that he wasn't like the rest of the council. "We both desire the same thing, HER return. I have taken great risks to aid you behind the scenes so I would appreciate it that next time you do something of this magnitude I be informed." SEELE-2 said making it clear that Gendo crossed a line.

"Oh? Is that care for your brother I hear from my father-in-law?" Gendo asked but SEELE-2 growled a bit.

"Do not push your luck, just remember that I can easily expose you to the rest of the council and place someone who I can personally trust to uphold my interests." SEELE-2 said with a tone suggesting that while he and Gendo may secretly be conspiring against SEELE for their own goals SEELE-2 was the one who controlled this partnership. "Do I make myself clear?" He asked and thus Gendo grunted a bit.

"Transparently." Gendo said and thus SEELE-2 hung up leaving Gendo alone in his office... well not entirely alone he did have one piece of decoration. Of course, it had been a gift, but it was a decoration none the less. The decoration was a mask a demonic looking one that depicted itself as a... Green Goblin.
