The Pure Heart Tears.
Chapter one.
It was the final showdown. Not only were Mario, Peach and Bowser fighting to save all the worlds, but they were also fighting to save Luigi, who had been taken controlled by Dementio and fused with the Chaos heart to become this horrible creature that they now had to fight and defeat. The three of them with the help from Tippy and the Pure hearts, working together to bring Super Dimentio down. Once defeated Dimentio thought he could not lose with the power of Luigi only to find out he was wrong. Dimentio then spit Luigi out before exploding. Once gone Luigi looks up from where he lays. "Huh?" He said, confused. "Luigi!" Mario said, going to him. "Mario? What happened?" Luigi asked. "Never mind that, are you okay?" Mario asked. "I, I think so!" Luigi said, getting to his feet only to fall down again. Luigi looked back at his legs that were still and tried to move them. "Waa!" Luigi screamed, getting everyone's attention. "Mario help, my legs they won't move!" Luigi screamed. "What? What do you mean your legs won't move?" Mario asked. "I can't move them!" Luigi said, trying to move them again. Luigi then started to cry, as Mario held him. "Mario, bro, my legs, what's wrong with my legs?" Luigi asked him while crying. "There, there Lu, it's going to be okay!" Mario said, comforting him. Suddenly the ground shook. "Mario the void, it's still here!" Peach said. "Really, defeat that creep didn't get rid of that thing!" Bowser said. "Mario, Timpani!" Bleck said, carefully approaching them. "Blumiere!" Tippy said. "Follow me and hurry we don't have much time!" Bleck said, heading to another door with Tippy following. "Mario, listen Mario you got to follow Bleck, you got to stop the Chaos heart, go, leave me I'll only slow you down!" Luigi said, still being comfort by Mario. "No way bro, I'm not leaving you here!" Mario said, picking Luigi up and carried him to the door where Bleck and Tippy were waiting for them. "Come this way!" Bleck said, entering the door. Mario and his friends followed behind them. Eventually they arrived at a chapel, the same chapel where it all started. "Hurry my love we don't have a moment to lose!" Bleck said, "Right!" Tippy said, flying to him. Peach, Bowser, and Mario who was still carrying Luigi watched as Tippy and Bleck exchanged vows and the Chaos heart shattered into nothingness and the void vanished, followed by wedding bells ringing. "It is done!" Bleck said. After and emotional goodbye, there was a bright light and Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, and all of Bleck's minions found themselves back in Flipside. "Mario!" Merlon said, approaching them. "Well done, Heroes of the prophecy, you saved us all, you truly are the greatest heroes!" Merlon said, proudly. Suddenly they heard Luigi begin to cough. "Lu?" Mario said, looking at him only to gasp in horror when he saw him pale and sweating and had purple spots covering his face and body. "Mario, I don't, I don't feel so good!" he said, before collapsing in Mario's arm. "Luigi!" Mario cried, as everyone gasped in horror and fear. "Luigi!" Peach said, going to him with worry and fear. "What happen?" Mimi asked. "Why did he Collapse?" Natasha asked. "Hm?" Melon hummed, walking up to Luigi and took one look at him. "My word, what is this? I have never seen an illness like this!" Merlon said. "What can we do?" Peach asked. Merlon thought then. "Quickly bring him to my house. I'll call for a doctor immediately!" He said, as they quickly rushed to Merlon's house.
Soon they were at Merlon's house. Peach and the others waited in the main area of Merlon's house. "Wow, they sure have been in there for a while!" O' Chunks said. Natasha sadly sighed. "This is all my fault I mind-controlled Luigi!" Natasha said, feeling bad. "No Natasha, you may have mind-controlled Luigi, but you were not the cause of his mysterious illness!" Peach said, putting her hand onto Natasha's shoulder. "The Princess is right Natasha. You are not to blame for this. Dimentio was the one who caused Luigi's sudden illness!" Mimi said, angrily.
In a room in the back of Merlon's house Mario sat in a chair beside Luigi's bed. While the doctor finishes examining him. Mario held onto Lu's hand, as the doctor looked into Luigi's eyes, ears, and throat. He also listened to his heart and Lungs and took his temperature. Last thing the doctor did was hooked Lu up to an IV (Which he did not like.) A bucket of cold water was on the small table next to the bed. Once the Doctor was done examining Luigi. "Okay Luigi, we're all done!" The doc said. "Am I going to be okay doc? What's wrong with me?" Luigi asked in a weak voice. The doctor sadly sighed. "Unfortunately, Luigi, I don't know, I have no clue to what this illness is or how to cure it!" The doc said. Hearing this news made Mario want to cry. "We'll have to see what happens, hopefully the Antibiotic IV I have you on will help fight whatever this illness is!" the doc said, closing his bag. "I'll come back in the morning to see how you are doing, okay Luigi!" He said. "Okay!" Luigi weakly said. "Take care of your brother Mario, make sure you keep him hydrated, and he is only allowed to eat soft foods, preferably soups, and make sure you keep that cloth on his forehead nice and cold to keep his fever down!" The doctor said. "Yes doctor, thanks again, we'll see you tomorrow morning!" Mario said, watching the doc leave the room. Once he was gone, Mario saw Merlon picking up his bag. "Merlon? Where are you going?" Mario asked. "To the ancient library, if the doctor doesn't know what this illness is, then the answer can be found in one of the ancient books. I will also return in the morning. Take good care of your brother Mario!" Merlon said. "Don't worry I will. Goodbye Merlon, see you in the morning!" Mario said, watching Merlon leave the room. "Mario!" Luigi weakly said. "Yeah, Lu?" Mario said, going back to the chair beside Luigi's bed. "I'm sorry!" He said, sadly. "Sorry? Sorry for what?" Mario asked, sitting down and took Luigi's hand. "For scaring you. I can't imagine what was going through your mind when you saw what that jester did to me. If I knew what he was going to do to me, I would never have gone with you!" Luigi said. "No, no bro, there was no way you could have known and if anyone should be sorry it's me!" Mario sadly said. Luigi was surprised. "You, why bro?" Luigi asked. "Because I should have known what was going on and I should have protected you more so he couldn't take you!" Mario said. "Mario, bro that's ridiculous. It's just like you told me, there was no way you could have known what he was up to. None of us did. I'm just glad you stopped him when you did. Sure, I got sick, but I know it would have been much worse if you and the others didn't stop him when you did!" Luigi said, coughing. Mario smiled as he held back his emotion. "Mario!" Luigi said. "Yeah?" He asked. "Thank you for saving me, bro!" he said, coughing again. After Luigi saying that Mario couldn't hold it in anymore and his tears burst out. "Oh Lu!" Mario said, going to him and hugged him.
