Hello everyone, my name is Cryptidhunter2025 and I'm here to write fan fiction (like duh); anyway I'm here to bring you all my first story. The main plot takes place during the chunin exams so the land of waves arc is already complete. I hope you all enjoy it as I put a lot of work into this; now then, lets get started shall we?
Ashes to Ashes: Chapter 1
Warring States Period: In a forest
Sounds of clanging steel and shouts from the dying echoed through the forest, piercing the night with the horrid sounds; in a field a lone Uchiha stood among his slain brethren as a lone warrior had killed them all single handedly.
The lone warrior pulled out their naginata from the corpse of an Uchiha man; the warrior wore a full set of gray and black samurai armor. Besides the naginata they also carried a katana and tanto on their hip along with a kunai holster behind them; and in the middle of the breastplate was the clan crest of the Sarutobi Clan.
Turning towards their final opponent the samurai armor clad warrior charged forward at full speed towards the lone and wounded Uchiha; the Uchiha in an act of desperation made a hand sign.
"Jikanteido" shouted the Uchiha as he activated his Mangekyo Sharingan ability; all at once the warrior was stopped dead in their tracks mid charge as a purple cube appeared around them. The warrior was frozen in place unable to move as they stood there in suspended animation.
"I-I did it" the Uchiha said with a smile "I actually captured him"; the Uchiha ran up and deactivated his Sharingan and took out a scroll from a pocket and placed it on the ground. The Uchiha began to go through hand signs until he slammed his hand onto the paper "Seal" he shouted; the purple cube containing the warrior was sucked into the scroll and the Uchiha quickly rolled it up and put it away.
"Lord Madara will be very happy with this; this bastard killed two of his brothers" The Uchiha said as he began to rush off back to where he thought his remaining clansman were. After running for a few minutes he began to feel lost as he began to look around frantically "Where the hell are-" he began.
"FLYING RAJIN SLICE" came a shout as a blur of silver dashed in front of the Uchiha; the next moment the Uchiha's head fell to the ground and a figure wearing blue Samurai armor stood up and flicked the blood off his sword.
Fifteen year old Tobirama Senju looked around with a scowl on his face "damn it Sarutobi; where are you?" Tobirama said before looking down at the Uchiha. Tobirama searched the Uchiha but did not find anyone of interest and scoffed "nothing" he said.
"Brother" came a shout as a figure wearing red armor appeared; sixteen year old Hashirama Senju appeared and landed next to Tobirama "have you found Sarutobi?"
"No elder brother; and I don't intend to" Tobirama said as he sheathed his sword "if that battle hungry fool got killed I will not shed a tear". Tobirama began to walk away and Hashirama sighed.
'Why must you be so cold hearted?' Hashirama thought before looking down at the dead Uchiha; Hashirama formed a hand sign and tree roots formed around the body like a casket and pulled it under ground. "May you rest in peace" Hashirama said as he closed his eyes in prayer; Hashirama left the area a few minutes later.
Unknown to either brothers the comrade they were looking for was sealed in the scroll and inside a hidden pocket on the Uchiha; the burial sealing the body and the warrior away and out of sight.
78 Years later….
Forest of Death: With Naruto Uzumaki
"GAAAAAAAAAH" Naruto shouted as he flew through the air as a powerful wall of wind sent him flying through the forest; Naruto dressed in his orange and blue jumpsuit looked like a blur as the wind sent him crashing into tree branches.
The wind was so powerful that it uprooted trees and kicked up a massive cloud of dust and dirt; a certain patch of the forest was blown away sending a set of bones and rotten cloths sailing along with Naruto.
As the wind died down Naruto hit one final tree and fell to the ground moaning "owww…man" Naruto groaned as he held his back "my back". Naruto got to his knees and saw all around him there was pieces of clothing and bones; he looked around until he spotted a skull "Holy shit" Naruto said as he fell backwards.
Naruto looked at the clean skull and swallowed "damn dude; guess you bought the farm out here?" Naruto said as he got up and looked around at the scattered objects. He saw kunai, shuriken and other ninja tools along with other miscellaneous items; suddenly he saw a scroll and went wide eyed.
"Holy crap; is that what I think it is?" Naruto said excited as he ran over and picked it up and looked at it; he looked for a 'Heaven' or 'Earth' Kanji on it but found none. "Dang, thought I gotten lucky" Naruto thought as he opened the scroll and saw it was a sealing scroll "Huh…maybe this could be useful?"
Naruto put some chakra into the scroll and the seal glowed and began to sizzle; Naruto tossed the scroll expecting it was going to blow until a puff of smoke appeared. A Samurai in gray and black armor appeared and was only feet away from skewering Naruto through the gut with their Naginata.
"GAAAAAAAAAH" Naruto shouted in fear as he raised his hands and closed his eyes as he braced for the pain; instead of the feeling of cold steel Naruto instead got a kick to the chest and was sent to the ground.
The Samurai stood over Naruto with their foot on his chest and spear aimed at his head.
"WHO ARE YOU?" The samurai shouted with authority.
"N-N-Naruto" Naruto said frantically before the samurai stabbed the ground next to his head making him yelp in fear.
"YOU'RE CLAN MOTHERFUCKER, WHAT'S YOUR CLAN?" The Samurai shouted.
"I don't got one; I'm an orphan" Naruto shouted as the Samurai pressed on his chest.
"Who is your master, your allegiance?" The Samurai said
"I'm from Konoha dude; I'm just a genin" Naruto said "look if your pissed about me looting the dead guy, I didn't mean no harm"; The Samurai looked at Naruto forehead protector and pointed.
"What is Konoha?" The Samurai asked and Naruto got a confused look on his face.
"Umm.. the village I live in?" Naruto said unsure what they were asking.
The Samurai analyzed Naruto before taking their foot off his chest and back up; Naruto held out both his hands and slowly got to his feet.
"Where are we?" The Samurai asked and Naruto spoke.
"The 'Forest of Death'… the chunin exams" Naruto said "didn't that Anko lady explain that at the beginning?"; the Samurai stared at Naruto for a few seconds until he spoke again. "Look dude, just go-" Naruto began until he began to look around "damn, where the hell did I come from again?"
Naruto began to turn around and upon doing so showed his back to the Samurai and they spotted something; a red spiral pattern on the back of his cloths. Upon seeing this the Samurai lowered their Naginata and spoke.
"Ah, an Uzumaki; why didn't you identify yourself earlier" the Samurai asked and Naruto spun around wide eyed "and how come you're blonde; all Uzumaki I know are red heads, are you a halfbreed?"
"How did you know my last n-" Naruto began until he went wide eyed "oh…fuck"; the Samurai spun around and saw what made him horrified. A massive snake almost as tall as the trees appeared and was looking down at them; the snake hissed and went down for a bite.
Naruto and the Samurai both jumped out of the way in opposite directions 'what kind of monstrosity is this?' The Samurai thought.
"Out of the frying pan-" Naruto said before making a hand sign "SHADOW CLONE JUTSU"; Naruto created fifty clones and all of them took out kunai and shuriken and began to barrage the snake with them.
The Samurai's eyes widened from behind their mask 'wait isn't that Tobirama's jutsu; how does he know it' The Samurai thought. The Samurai snapped out of their thoughts and began to weave through hand signs 'I'll worry about that later; I must defeat this abomination' the Samurai thought.
Naruto and his clones continued to throw projectiles at the snake and the snake raised it's tail and swung down; Naruto and several of his clones jumped into the trees as the tail hit the ground and destroyed the majority of the clones.
"Crap" Naruto shouted as he took out some more kunai; before he could attack he heard a shout.
"Fire Style: Napalm Firestorm" The Samurai shouted before spewing out a large volume of liquid from the opening of the face plate; the liquid splashed over the snake covering it completely.
As the stream of liquid died down the Samurai clicked their teeth together and ignited the liquid; the liquid exploded into bright orange flames all over the snake. The snake began to hiss and thrash as it tried to extinguish the fire; Naruto had to cover his face as the heat was so intense that he began to get a slight sunburn.
As the heat died down Naruto looked again and saw the snake fall to the ground and burn; the skin and flesh began to boil as it died.
"BOY, COME DOWN" the Samurai yelled towards Naruto; Naruto looked to the samurai and dispelled his clones.
'This guy's one hell of a badass' Naruto thought as he jumped down and landed a few feet away from the Samurai "hold shit, I never seen anything like that before".
"Of course you haven't; it's my jutsu" said the Samurai before retrieving the Naginata "anyway, we should move; no telling where the enemy might be".
"Oh crap Sasuke and Sakura" Naruto said in a panic "they could be in trouble too; we gotta go help them". Naruto looked around and found the direction he came in "I hate to ask this, but can you help?" Naruto asked; the Samurai looked at him silently for a few seconds before nodding.
"We Sarutobi always honor alliances; the Uzumaki are valuable comrades in the struggle" The Samurai said making Naruto confused "I will assist you to relieve my debt; you did free me from my confinement".
"So… is that a yes?" Naruto asked and the Samurai looked at him.
"You're one simple son of a bitch; aren't you?" The Samurai said and Naruto gained a tic mark "lead me to your comrades so we can regroup".
"Follow me" Naruto said as he began to run with the Samurai right behind him.
In another part of the forest: with Sakura and Sasuke
Sasuke was hiding behind a tree with Sakura, his hand covering her mouth as they hid from the enemy; a grass Kunoichi had ambushed them after a large gust of wind swept Naruto away. So far Sasuke has tried to fight her but wasn't able to do much.
'Damn it, where's Naruto?' Sasuke thought in frustration 'just when I need that idiot he ends up being swept away'; Sasuke and Naruto have had a rocky relationship while on team seven but even so he saw value in him.
While not the brightest or the strongest Naruto was very useful in a fight; his actions during the Land of Waves mission especially when they fought Zabuza and Haku. Sasuke preferred Naruto over Sakura because for all her smarts in the academy she has proven to not be useful during a fight. As far as Sasuke can remember he doesn't think he's ever seen Sakura fight other than the sparring matches with him and Naruto; and even then they both beat her easily.
Sakura sat there with Sasuke covering her mouth as they hid from the Kusa Kunoichi; so far they both have been beaten and had genjutsu used on them. Sakura was frightened out of her mind; even more than the time they fought Zabuza during the Land of Waves mission.
As Sakura sat there she heard the sound of rustling behind her and she looked to the side; a giant snake appeared and she reached up, pulled down Sasuke's arm and shouted.
"SASUKE, SNAKE" Sakura shouted and Sasuke snapped his head just as the snake lunged at them; Sasuke grabbed Sakura and jumped out of the way, taking out several kunai and throwing them at the snake hitting and killing it".
"Found you" said the singsong voice of the Kusa Kunoichi from behind Sasuke; Sasuke turned his head and the Kusa Kunoichi appeared behind him and sent a kick. Sasuke was kicked in the back letting go of Sakura and the both of them separated; Sasuke got to his feet and jumped into the trees and the Kunoichi followed him 'yes, keep running Sasuke' the Kunoichi thought.
Sasuke landed on a branch and so did the Kunoichi as she charged toward him; Sasuke activated his sharingan and got into his fighting stance. The Kunoichi threw a series of punches and Sasuke was barely able to block them.
'She's so fast' Sasuke thought as he parried a punch and threw one of his own; the Kunoichi ducked and Sasuke followed up with a knee aimed for the face. The Kunoichi caught the attack and countered with an uppercut; Sasuke was hit under the chin and knocked off the branch to a lower one.
The Kunoichi in a revolting display extended her body and began to wrap around the tree trunk in order to reach Sasuke; Sasuke got back up and began to walk backwards as she descended. Before she could reach him however a kunai hit the tree in front of the Kunoichi and everyone was surprised.
Sakura looked to where it came from and went wide eyed "NARUTO" Sakura shouted as she saw Naruto and an unknown figure wearing Samurai armor next to him 'huh, who's that?'. Suddenly the figure jumped down and landed on the tree branch in Sasuke of Sasuke and Sasuke looked at them in surprise.
'Who's this?' Sasuke thought before the Samurai saw it.
On Sasuke's back was the Uchiha clan crest and the Samurai narrowed their eyed 'an Uchiha, why is that Uzumaki with him; how are they comrades?' the Samurai thought.
"Who the hell are you and-" Sasuke began until the Samurai spun around and kicked Sasuke in the face sending him falling to the ground down below.
"Uchiha filth" the Samurai said as Sasuke hit the ground with a thud.
"Sasuke" Sakura shouted as she ran over to him and began to check him over
"Woah, what the fuck?" Naruto shouted "he's my teammate dude; what the hell?".
The Samurai looked at Naruto and shouted "when we're done you have a lot of explaining to do; fraternizing with the enemy" the Samurai said dangerously towards Naruto "but first I must deal with this freak".
The Kusa Kunoichi looked at the samurai curiously 'strange, I don't remember a genin wearing armor or carrying a Naginata' the Kunoichi thought as she stood on the branch across from the Samurai. "Tell me… who are you?" The Kunoichi said.
"I'm a Sarutobi" The Samurai said before pointing the spear at the Kunoichi "and I am the one who will bury you in the dirt"; the Kunoichi chuckled at this and smiled.
"I do love a challenge" the Kunoichi said as she opened her mouth and produced a sword hilt, grabbing it before pulling it out and wielding it "very well then; I can reunite with Sasuke afterwards".
Naruto jumped down and landed next to Sasuke and Sakura as Sakura tried to help Sasuke; Sasuke turned to Naruto and spoke "what the hell happened; and who the hell is that?" Sasuke growled out and Naruto looked back at the Samurai.
"It's a long story; but I can say this though" Naruto said as he felt a feeling of worry rise inside him "we don't wanna me on his bad side".
All three genin looked up as the Samurai and the Kunoichi got into their fighting stances and got ready for battle.
